How to edit wikepedia[edit]

Wikepedia is giving wrong information about battle of chamkor. So it’s should be corrected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ArmaanBhangu (talkcontribs) 03:15, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @ArmaanBhangu, and thank you for using the help desk! The contribution you want to add currently needs reliable sources. I left a message on your talk page with more information. Happy editing! ––FormalDude talk 03:22, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

There has been an edit war going on at the 2021 California gubernatorial recall election article involving the user LéKashmiriSocialiste who has made nine reverts in the last 24 hours. I'm not sure of the proper procedure. Thanks, David O. Johnson (talk) 03:25, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@David O. Johnson: How many times have they reverted the same content? If they were each their own revert, they probably haven't violated any rules. But if they are edit warring and reverting the same thing, they can only do that a maximum of three times in any twenty four hour period. ––FormalDude talk 03:34, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@David O. Johnson:I'd better you take a look of User:Scribetastic, who keep attacking others during the edit... Pavlov2 (talk) 03:43, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That is a stellar article. scope_creepTalk 16:49, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deaths in Baseball[edit]

Can you fix the error i made on article i made please. 98.186.54.177 (talk) 04:00, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

IP editor, please tell us what sort of mistake you made.--Quisqualis (talk) 04:05, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
 Fixed! I noticed the error you made in the reference in the 2021 in baseball#Deaths section. At first I just fixed the |url= field, but then I replaced the entire reference with the original article from The Fresno Bee. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 04:18, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information about my father[edit]

Hello! I would like to send you additional information about my father. I would prefer if one of your editors adds it but I would like to know if I can get in touch with someone about this. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:985:1dce:1:d51e:90f2:5378:2787 (talk) 15:53, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Use the Talk page of the article about your father to suggest edits. -Roxy the sceptical dog. wooF 16:15, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You can also use the Wikipedia:Edit Request Wizard. Please include reliable published sources if you can. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 17:03, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for wanting to help. However, please be aware that we are not a typical Encyclopedia with a paid editorial staff who can check facts. Instead, we have about 100,000 active volunteer editors who operate in a chaotic fashion with no centralized oversight. Therefore, we have no mechanism for accepting non-published information from you about your father. We must rely exclusively on information that has already been published in reliable sources. If you can point us to such sources (e.g., books, newspapers, and many Web sites), then we can put the information into the article. -Arch dude (talk) 18:15, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Harv error[edit]

Hi Folks!! I have reference on the Draft:Republic of Indonesia in the National Revolution that is stating Harv error: linked from CITEREFHatta2011. I've had a mess about with the dates and put a refend tag in, that was missing, but can't see what is up with it. When you click on ref 15, it click onto it now, so the linking structure is there, but the warning still comes up. Thanks. scope_creepTalk 16:45, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

References that are used in the article text are not 'further reading'. §Further reading should hold only references to further reading. Consider moving the non-further-reading references into §Bibliography.
And, sort of related, I have a hard time imagining that 'TNI' (Tentara Nasional Indonesia according to TNI) is the surname of Markas Besar (which google translate says means 'headquarter'). Don't misuse the |last= and |first= parameters in cs1|2 templates. Unless an actual author can be named, I would rewrite that {{cite book}} template this way:
{{cite book |title=Sejarah TNI Jilid I (1945–1949) |publisher=Pusat Sejarah Dan Tradisi TNI |location=Jakarta |date=2000 |isbn=979-9421-01-2 |ref={{sfnref|TNI|2000}}}}
Sejarah TNI Jilid I (1945–1949). Jakarta: Pusat Sejarah Dan Tradisi TNI. 2000. ISBN 979-9421-01-2.

Christopher Ashley[edit]

I need to edit the top line of Christopher Ashley's entry which now reads "Christopher Ashley (born July 6, 1964) is an American stage director. Since 2007, he has been the artistic director of the La Jolla Playhouse.[1]" How do I do that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrashley (talkcontribs)

By making a request on the talk page, providing sources which support the edits you want made.A little blue Bori v^_^v Jéské Couriano 18:30, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Chrashley: I reverted your edits to the Christopher Ashley article because you replaced all the sourced information with unsourced information. If you are Mr. Ashley or are affiliated with him, you should declare your conflict of interest on your talk page and follow the advice Jéské Couriano provided above to request edits on Talk:Christopher Ashley (or use the Wikipedia:Edit Request Wizard. If you are not, then I suggest picking a new username to avoid confusion. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 18:51, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately they've become seriously disruptive, ignoring talk page messages and warnings. They are also claiming to be Christopher Ashley. And apparently posting as an IP, on top of all that. Wikignome Wintergreentalk 20:16, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
and they've been blocked. Mjroots (talk) 06:55, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to stop a spam user from removing illustrations that go inside with the article it goes with. How do i go about reporting this person? he has 3 different accounts that he uses to spam and report users that fix the vandalism issues. Please help me and let me know what to do. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Haskinben7 (talkcontribs)

@Haskinben7: Accusing users of sock puppetry is a pretty serious thing. Which three users are you accusing of being socks? (As one of the users who has reverted your edits, I presume you mean me as one of the socks.) You could consider the fact that multiple different users disagree with your preferred version of the page, which is why you have now been reported at WP:3RRN. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:56, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Haskinben7:, you have accused other editors of sock puppetry, vandalism, and spam. Sock puppetry is at least conceivable here, though you have provided no evidence (and I can find none). But "vandalism"? And "spam"? I don't think you even know what the words mean. Maproom (talk) 21:34, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[nonadmin note]Haskinben7 has been indefinitely blocked, and has stated their intention to leave Wikipedia. Larry/Traveling_Man (talk) 22:51, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • As an uninvolved editor, I find that the edits by User:Haskiben7 were completely justly reverted. Inclusion of detail of every kind of street light in the United States is needless trivia and only serves to clutter up the article. JIP | Talk 01:33, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:AMOUNT and WP:BAND. A subject must be notable to have a Wikipedia article. A Draft article will not be indexed by Google. -Arch dude (talk) 02:06, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
