@Joaquin89uy: If you mean your own edit count then click "Edit count" at the bottom of Special:Contributions/Joaquin89uy to get https://xtools.wmflabs.org/ec/en.wikipedia.org/Joaquin89uy. Sandbox Information Disappeared[edit]

You can pick any of the versions from the edit history that Quisqualis gave you, by picking the date-and-time. However, the first one has a single line about Farrar, the second has Lovelace's name (and nothing else). So if you wrote more about Lovelace, then you didn't save ("Publish") it. Sorry. Bruce Falkinburg Wikipedia page removed[edit]

I created a page for Bruce Falkinburg, a member of the bands The Obsessed and The Hidden Hand as was as a well-known producer and studio owner in the mid-atlantic. It was taken down and I have no reference of the work I put into the page. No one contacted me or wrote a note somewhere, it simply vanished. We went through quite a bit of an issue with his photo too. If I need more references, etc, please tell me and I will link them. Please help if you can. Templates in external links[edit]

Hi Folks!! Is it possible to link to the french wikisource here: [2], perhaps using a derivative like {{wikisource-inline}} template for example. Is that possible? When I use that it goes to search page. I would have thought there would have been translations in English but the french originals are there. Its for the Élisa Mercœur article. Adding pictures or editing picture[edit]

Step 1: find a better photo, which either is free of copyright restrictions or whose copyright you own and and are willing to donate (actually it's more complicated than that, I've just given an outline)

Step 2: upload it to Wikimedia Commons

Step 3: edit the article, replacing the link to the image that's currently shown by the one you want there instead. Maproom (talk) 17:25, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Better photograph[edit]

Of course, there are many opinions on what is a good picture. Now Wikimedia can also show old full-sized versions of pictures. Some are better than the newest ones. The example is here [4]: the newest exaggerates contrast and color. I would like to show the 2nd picture from the year 2008 in a Wikipedia article. It's a little better. Is it possible? I'd have to agree that the earlier version looks better. And express my doubts that the original ever had the vivid colours of the latest version. I don't think it is possible to link earlier versions of the same file though. This image is hosted on Commons, and you'd probably do best to raise the matter there, at least initially. Inline book ref - archives[edit]

Hi Folks!! Second question of the night. Is possible to do a ref in some way where you have volume 1, volume 2 and volume 3 of a book series. This is book 1 in the series [6] for the Élisa Mercœur article. I specifically looking at ref 6 on the fr article. It seems to be able to do the whole series on one line. Can that be done here? @Scope creep: if you want do it French-style, the volume links wouldn't be contained in any template. As you already have volume 1 linked in the cite book template, you could add a vol=1 parameter to make that more visible. Then you'd append

[https://archive.org/details/oeuvrescomplte02merc Vol. 2.] [https://archive.org/details/oeuvrescomplte03merc Vol. 3.]

after the closing }} of the cite book template. Or, you could remove the url parameter from the template and list all three volumes right after it. The French article is similarly using regular external link formatting; theirs is encased in ref tags and ours is not. For bonus points, you can also include the linked OCLC numbers using Template:OCLC right after the closing bracket of each volume link. Volume 2: OCLC 1254585716. Volume 3: OCLC 1254585715. I'm not necessarily wanting to do it, in the style of the fr wikipedia. It seems a good way of doing a compressed references without spreading it across multiple entries. Is there nothing on here that can do that. scope_creep^Talk 13:13, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we have a citation template that itself can contain multiple volumes—perhaps because we'd rather see each volume cited specifically to support the content—but I think the French option would work well for a bibliography entry. All put together, it should look like this:

Élisa Mercœur; Adélaïde Aumond Mercœur; Achille Devéria; François-René de Chateaubriand (1843). Oeuvres complètes d'Elisa Mercoeur de Nantes. T. 1 / précédées de mémoires et notices sur la vie de l'auteur, écrits par sa mère ; ornées d'un très beau portrait, par A. Deveria, et de trois fac-simile, dont l'un d'Élisa Mercoeur, et les deux autres de MM. de Chateaubriand et de Martignac [Complete works of Elisa Mercoeur de Nantes. @Firefangledfeathers: That looks pretty decent with seperate authors and provides and compresses it somewhat, which I wasn't sure about. There is more text here. Its not as compressed as the french ref but its really decent. Firefangledfeathers, thanks for that work and formatting.
