Removal of false information from Dakik Family page and Nawib Al Ashraf Afghanistan section[edit]

I request you research the references and content given for the dakik family and naqib al ashraf

The family has a bias with a false claim of superiority over others furthermore if you look at their uploaded documents on the sites for "naqib al ashraf" there is not a single stamp or proof of authentication of link with naqib al ashraf alongside there being no Naqib Al Ashraf authority within Afghanistan as it was handled by the Ottomans and Mamlukes and now present day governments of Iraq, Turkey etc

Furthermore they claim Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jillani succession when in fact they are from Imam Musa Al Kazim

So I request you look into this and remove the bias information — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dragon819010 (talkcontribs) 03:09, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Dragon819010: If you have suggestions to improve an article, start a discussion on that article's talk page to get consensus with other editors. RudolfRed (talk) 04:03, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Dragon819010 Please note that this page does not say what what you want it to say. It will say what reliable, independent sources say about the topic Club On a Sub 20 (talk) 17:58, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

And this is why I said look into the sources you will see they are not independent sources in fact are all made by the same family I am not saying to edit pages according to my own opinion but according to facts

If you actually read and researched what I stated you would have understood the facts I am trying to state but it seems you have not bothered at all — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dragon819010 (talkcontribs) 19:13, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Using official YouTube videos as a source[edit]

Hi, how would I go about citing a YouTube video from a reliable source? I have a few videos where I'm having difficulty finding that information elsewhere (not that it doesn't exist, but Korean-language stuff is particularly difficult to track down on the internet and is super prone to link-rot) Also wondering how I go about specifying timestamps.

Also gonna list some of the sources I've found to see if anyone can point out specifics that might make any of these sources not reliable.

This is a reupload of a broadcast from MBC News which states that there was a memorial service for the 20th anniversary of the Seongsu Bridge disaster https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-o_m2mo0GQ

This YTN interview where one of the survivors of the bridge collapse goes into specifics about the collapse. (the part I'm citing is him stating that another two victims on the bus didn't die instantly but died waiting for first responders) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy6VxAEp1NQ

This YTN show (not sure what to describe it as) discusses the bridge collapse and states that the speed limit was 60mkh on the bridge at the time. It also states that the beginning of the construction for the new bridge was march 1996 and that the bridge was expanded to 8 lanes in september 2004. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GSQOG1Hy7I

This SBS television show (this one is definitely a show) where a witness (same victim before mentioned -- it appears that he seems to appear often to talk about it) describes the scene, stating that he was first under the impression that the road in front was floating into the air (which was really them falling down). It also goes into more specific about how exactly the bus fell down. (its rear wheels got stuck after the bridge collapsed and it fell over backwards). It also specifically states first responders arrived at 8:10 AM rather than 8am. (different witness is also in the program) The show also provides a citation for the fact that a driver reported that there was a crack in the bridge in the morning of the accident. It states that the memorial stone has a memorial service every year on the anniversary, and that a memorial was also held on the opening of the new seongsu bridge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEh7xz1IUl4

This MBN program provides context that the emergency call center responders first believed that the reports of the bridge collapse were prank calls. Also states that Gangnam (meaning the region south of the river, not the district) students were no longer to assigned to gangbuk (again the region north of the river, not the administrative district) schools and vice versa. Also gives a specific number that 160,000 vehicles were crossing the bridge a day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaWxPTtFIEY

Cheers, Freedom4U (talk) 05:52, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Freedom4U: Youtube Videos are generally only useable if two things hold true: (1) The video in question was produced by an outlet we ordinarely consider reliable, and (2) it was uploaded to that outlets verified channel. See also WP:RSPYT and WP:YOUTUBE. As for citing them, we have {{cite Youtube}} for that purpose. You can link to a specific timestamp of a video by providing the t query parameter, which takes the video timestamp as the number of seconds from the start, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GSQOG1Hy7I&t=2. Be careful when using the "copy video URL at this timestamp" context menu option, because it will generate a youtu.be shortcut URL, the domain of which is blacklisted. Victor Schmidt (talk) 07:48, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Victor Schmidt SBS, MBN, MBC, YTN, etc are all considered reliable and used frequently on other articles within the scope of the Korea WikiProject, however a second question I have-- because some of these are live broadcasts, is whether something that is live and therefore might not have as much editorial oversight as a newspaper would make it unreliable? Freedom4U (talk) 14:04, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Freedom4U see WP:RSBREAKING. Live broadcasts are not nessesarely unreliable, however, in particular hen they have been made shortly after an event, the information in them might be inaccurate or has become outdated. Victor Schmidt (talk) 07:10, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading digital certifcates in my wiki article[edit]

Hi, I notice that while uploading scanned pictures of certificates to my article, I am expected to attest that its my own work. I dont understand this as the certificate of accomplishment is issued by a 3rd party and how I can attest as my own work. Even if I go ahead and attest as my own work, I get an error message "We could not determine whether this file is suitable for Wikimedia Commons. Please only upload photos that you took yourself with your camera, or see what else is acceptable. See the guide to make sure the file is acceptable and learn how to upload it on Wikimedia Commons."

Can you please guide me on this aspect? Thank you so much in advance! Maraavi1 (talk) 12:03, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What article are you working on? You appear to only have one edit on this username, the one above. If you are talking about your userpage, then do you need the certificates? If you are thinking of writing an autobiography see WP:AB. Martin of Sheffield (talk) 12:25, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Martin. Appreciate your quick response. Yes, I am working on a biography page and looking to add some pics and certificates of accomplishment to make it interesting and colourful. I will have a look at those links. Thanks again Maraavi1 (talk) 15:00, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Maraavi1, you cannot upload works that are not yours. You can only upload works that you made yourself. This is not an error with Commons. Sungodtemple (talkcontribs) 13:59, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ok, got it. Thanks Maraavi1 (talk) 15:01, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hippocampal functionality, neural microtubules and quantum entanglement.[edit]

If the hippocampus has a function related to both spatiality and emotion, then that functionality must occupy the liminality between human existence and its environment whatever that may be. I would like to contribute some thoughts that might help resolve some of the outstanding issues relating to the hippocampus. Question... how do I do this and who do I contact?

Many thanks,

Stan Bonnar Measurement 1 (talk) 17:50, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Measurement 1, sounds like you need some kind of webforum for people interested in neuroscience, but Wikipedia is not that. You can try asking at Wikipedia:Reference desk/Science is the editors there have any suggestions. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:15, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks for your helpful reply. Measurement 1 (talk) 03:51, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The place to discuss improvements to the article is at Talk:Hippocampus, supporting your thoughts with references to published reliable sources. Wikipedia would not be the place for your own original research. - David Biddulph (talk) 18:16, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much indeed. Most helpful. Measurement 1 (talk) 03:53, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Persons religion![edit]

Why you always make it a point to mention the religion of a Jewish person while you do not bother mentioning it for other religions?

Michael Issa — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.148.4.166 (talk) 18:47, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We don't. Sometimes their religion is known via reliable sources. Sometimes it's not. Sometimes it just doesn't belong in the article. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:51, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Jewish is often included as an ethnicity, not because it's a religion. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:08, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me move an article to Wikipedia LiveSpace[edit]

Hello everyone, I have written an article on a defence startup from India, but I am unable to move this article into livespace.

The link for article : Draft:Astr Defence - Wikipedia

Any help would be appreciated.

Yashkc2025 (talk) 18:53, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have added the submit template for you, though it would be very quickly declined because there is nothing to suggest that they pass WP:CORP. Theroadislong (talk) 19:03, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Yashkc2025 There are some issues with the draft as written, primarily that it does not cite any sources to explain where the information comes from. It will not be accepted in its current condition. I recommend you read your first article and WP:42. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 19:04, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Astr Defence: Please do not put any more effort into this article until you have documented the subject's notability using reliable published sources (See WP:CORP). Notability is the only absolute requirement for an article, and any article whose subject is not notable will be declined or deleted. You have a few other problems and we can help you with them, but it's a waste of your time and ours until you first establish notability (see WP:AMOUNT). -Arch dude (talk) 19:52, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Help me[edit]

I submitted a biography article. After submission it says it will take 2 or more month about the feedback of publication. How can start get notified or how can i know the status of publish my article? Katrinachiovon3557 (talk) 20:50, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Katrinachiovon3557, which draft article are you talking about? No drafts show up in your contribution history, just some sandbox edits. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 21:01, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I think perhaps it was deleted: Draft:Katrina Chiovon. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 21:05, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your draft, Draft:Katrina Chiovon was deleted because of WP:G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion: self written vanity page, see WP:COI, WP:RS, WP:Notability (people)) Jauerbackdude?/dude. 21:06, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Katrinachiovon3557, Draft:Katrina Chiovon was deleted on 31 January as unambiguous advertising or promotion (click that red link to see the full reason given for deletion). Please know that Wikipedia does not tolerate promotion of any kind, so a page that includes stuff like "... in addition to her natural talent and attractiveness, Katrina is also gaining fame on social media ..." is never going to become part of this encyclopaedia. Sorry, but you'd do better to just get a website if you want to say that sort of thing about yourself. This isn't the place for it. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:09, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
