Cleanup

[edit]

Can someone cleanup Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh please. I added some tags but IP keeps removing it. I think it’s the same user doing it from IP. আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 08:29, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't cleaned it up and don't intend to. But I have semi-protected it for a couple of weeks. You should explain in the talk page why the templates are required, and you should be prepared to discuss this with the IP, should they object. -- Hoary (talk) 11:15, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How to tag for deletion

[edit]

I stumbled upon a draft article that was not in English. What criterion would this apply to for deletion/interwiki move? It also seems like a fan page, but one thing at a time. Sincerely, Key of G Minor. Tools: (talk, contribs) 14:41, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Key of G Minor: If it's in draftspace it'll most likely get dinged by a reviewer upon review. Other than that you could add {{not English}} to it, but it's not mandatory. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 16:11, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing errors on Andreu Jacob

[edit]

Reference help requested.

Thanks, EvaMarlen (talk) 22:50, 25 June 2023 (UTC) Gretings Thank you very much for your message and help. I am trying to publish this profile correctly, and I would like to do it well, and the truth is that it is not easy for me, there are many things that I still do not understand Can You help me please ?[reply]

EvaMarlen, the article Andreu Jacob has a long list of "Own records". Are these what we might call solo recordings? If so, say so; if not, what are they? Where and by which companies were they published? There's a list of symphonies, which I first assumed were composed by him; but one of them is "Symphonic Nr. 8 C- moll op. 65 / Dimitri Schostakowisich", which I imagine is not Andreu Jacob's but instead Shostakovich's. Is this a list of symphonies conducted by Andreu Jacob, or what? And other aspects too of this article are obscure. -- Hoary (talk) 01:30, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the help Horay, working on it EvaMarlen (talk) 07:56, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What to do when brand new user deleting many phrases tagged with "citation needed" tag across multiple articles

[edit]

The account User:ZagreusOsiris was recently created. Looking through Special:Contributions/ZagreusOsiris, a large number of edits are removing phrases tagged with citation needed, many that happen to be related to economic ideology. While I'm sure the edits are in good faith, the series of them seems a bit overzealous. As we know, citation needed tags, while sometimes helpful, are sometimes added egregiously (citations may exist nearby or references elsewhere in the article, and we only need to improve the state), nor are they comprehensive (there may be uncited information not so-tagged). So, while well-intentioned, this type of editing seems a bit disruptive, perhaps misunderstanding a tool other editors have used. But I'm not sure what the appropriate steps are here, or if there is a relevant guideline to fall back on. Any thoughts? —siroχo 22:56, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Siroxo: Hi there! You could post a message on User talk:ZagreusOsiris with your concerns. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 15:11, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Kevin Penix

[edit]

Is Kevin Penix automatically notable just because he is a state representative? --Jax 0677 (talk) 23:12, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The stub was created by FloridaArmy, who might give an opinion here. -- Hoary (talk) 23:39, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

American state legislators pass WP:NPOL, so we presume that they are notable. Why is complicated to explain, but it's something like this: NPOL is not the automatic conferral of notability per se, moreso it is the presumption that coverage exists. Because politicians always generate coverage (in national, regional, and local media) through their actions, we thus assume they are notable even if the coverage is not presently evident in the article or on Google (because many of these sources may be offline/non-digitized; this is especially important in countries where Internet access may be limited at best). For example, to this article, I was able to find a couple of sources on newspapers.com about a bill he introduced and some legislative committees he was a part of.
