Digital Cleanup Day[edit]

Hello! I reworked this article: Digital Cleanup Day. It was written in a very confusing and promotional way and had maintenance tags. But to save at least something of the original authors work, I wanted to keep his great source work. The problem: Wikipedia does not allow line break between superscripts (for example after the word „France“ in this article) Can you force it to break the line? Vandalism help request from 65.110.15.161[edit]

I have noticed some vandalism at List of animal sounds. Namely, one of the entries, among the animals, is "Jews" with sounds listed such as "ANTISEMITISM" and "we did nothing wrong". Would an editor please assist me with fixing it? Thank you, 65.110.15.161 (talk) 07:10, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Two reference lists?[edit]

Hello! I have been expanding Chapter Two of the Constitution of South Africa and, at some point, a second reference list appeared. It is sort of like some of the references are implicitly being treated as a second citation group. I mostly use the visual editor for adding citations but I don't see anything amiss in the source code. Any chance someone can have a look at the article and tell me what has gone wrong? TYIA! Reference 41 has a {{refend}} template in it, which I'm sure is causing the odd behaviour. I suspect that simply removing it will fix the problem, but I've never seen this template before, and I haven't looked at the history to see when and why it was introduced, so I haven't touched it.

Need an iphone user to take a quick look at this[edit]

We are having difficulty finding another iphone user with an iphone bigger than the smaller iphone SE 2020 that I have. Most iphones are bigger. We only need a few minutes of your time for a {{sticky header}} test. If you have an iphone please have a look at this test:

Write an article[edit]

Hello all,

I would like to write an article about a painter. He is a belgian painter (86 years of age) and has done remarkable things, traveling around the world and even being friends with salvador dali! I am trying to publish a small article about his life and achievements, but everytime I post it, for some reason it gets deleted. I have to admit, I'm not an expert at Wikipedia.

Could someone please provide me assistance in publishing the written article?

We aren't mind readers. And given that you have neither provided the name of the painter, nor any means to even guess at it, we clearly cannot say why the article was deleted. Normally, when an article is deleted, the article creator will be notified, with an explanation, but you appear to have made no edits under your current account. It looks like there may have been an article entitled 'Bernard Bergman' recently created on the Dutch Wikipedia - it was deleted as containing copyright violations. [1] AndyTheGrump (talk) 15:32, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So that was the issue then. He had been in a museum with his artwork, so i added a few paragraphs on the book written about him and added a few personal stories he shared with me on it. @Concepts by Jones, any quotations from your sources need to be very short and properly attributed - see WP:QUOTE for full details. Also, anything you put in an English Wikipedia article must be based on reliable published sources, not on anything the artist may have told you personally. Yes, it was on the dutch. However, I intended to write it on the english Wikepedia. Does that mean I have to rewrite it? I was just checking the draft and it told me I needed to practice in sandbox.

Unfortunately the Dutch and English Wikipedias are entirely separate projects. There may be an equivalent way of retrieving a deleted article on the nl: Wikipedia, akin to our WP:REFUND.
But it is worth understanding copyrighted text is absolutely prohibited on the English Wikipedia. Please see WP:COPYVIO. You can paraphrase and summarise, but not quote (unless it's a brief quotation). Qcne (talk) 15:47, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Concepts by Jones. When a new editor tries to create an article, they often have a frustrating and miserable time, because they don't understand crucial and fundamental concepts such as verifiability, notability, reliable sources, and neutral point of view.
I always advise new editors to not even try to create a new article before they have spent a few months improving existing articles and learning about those concepts. Then they can read your first article, and give it a go. ColinFine (talk) 15:35, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If the artist concerned is this individual [2], a quick Google search makes me suspect that the sort of independent, in-depth, reliably-sourced coverage that we would require to show that Bergman meets the relevant notability criteria to justify a Wikipedia article might be difficult to find: see WP:ARTIST. Taking a look at the draft, I suspect it is liable to be declined again, as lacking sufficient secondary sourcing. Psomiades very likely meets WP:NPROF, but we need further sources that back that up. The Journal of Modern Hellenism article cited is a good start, but on its own very likely not enough. We need citations to material about Psomiades, not citations to material he's written. US Presidents[edit]

I want to correct a line on article " U.S. economic performance by presidential party ". Under the jobs by president chart. Donald Trump's final jobs number is incorrect. Each of the listed presidents start on the final jobs numbers. The number Joe Biden started with would be Trumps final jobs number. It's the case in all the others presidents listed in the chart. How to add a photo and bio information[edit]

Hi there this is the first time I’ve ever tried creating a page on Wikipedia. I have been hired by a friend to create an artist tribute page for her mother. I filled out her bio, but I would just like help posting a photo with her date of birth and place and date of death and place, it’s going to be as simple as that. I just wanted to set it up. @ForGloria: It appears your content is on your user page. I suspect it will be deleted shortly as it is entirely inappropriate for an encyclopedia, and Wikipedia is not a web host. Citation present but doesn't support text[edit]

What is the most appropriate way to address an instance in which a claim in an article is cited but that the citations do not support the claim (assuming that I do not have time to find a more appropriate citation myself)? @Lemonidess As far as I can see, you have not mentioned that your draft started as a translation of the PL version. You are supposed to attribute that as part of the copy-within-Wikipedia procedure. I used the Polish version - but not everything is translated directly - some parts are modified to fit more the English language - as well i.e. I eliminated some parts that would be relevant only for the Polish reader.

Polish readed living in Poland. In the polish version there is a fragment in the beginning of a scout formation - and its know only in Poland. And a few other fragments (but small ones) in the text.
