Report[edit]

Lots discussed!

  • Wiki Loves Wine Weekend: use Martinborough as a test case; this could grow into a roving Wikipedian touring the vineyards of NZ and improving NZ wine content – a dream job. We should approach NZ Winegrowers for a grant…
  • All Royal Society Te Apairangi awards and prizes should be in Wikidata, with an ORCID ID for each winner, and photos taken on the spot.
  • DOC threatened species categories: each TCS report should have a DOI, and be in Wikidata so it can be cited more easily. We should create a TCS Wikidata property too.
  • Artists: run a workshop for artists/gallery directors/gallery volunteers on how to get NZ artists into Wikipedia. Advertise through The Big Idea.
  • Turnbull: Get them into #1lib1ref, pitting library against library – perhaps Turnbull against the Victoria State Library, or VUW against Vic. Ask ALex Stinson for advice.
  • Ministry for Culture and Heritage: what's happening with the Dictionary of NZ Biography? And Te Ara?
  • An edit-a-thon for NZ female professors, to build on Stuart's work? Ask the Royal Society or NZ Association of Scientists to support?
  • Wikipedia articles about the Stout family: a PM, the first female Dean of Science, etc.
  • She Shears is a movie: could that team get behind a Wikipedia event to support female shearers (see Kerri-Jo Te Huia and what User:Kate.aotearoa did at WP:E4E1)
  • We also had a demo of Commons CropTool
