Black History Month is celebrated annually in the United States in February, to commemorate the history of the African diaspora. For this occasion, AfroCROWD in partnership with Oregon State University and her sister University in Nigeria, Federal University Of Agriculture Of Abeokuta in conjunction with Wikimedia User Group Nigeria present a editathon for the improvement of existing contents about the subject matters and also improve citation in related contents.

Activities will include new editor orientation and training, citation process organized with the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria (WUGN). Its a closed event with specific target audience in mind. Refreshments generously supplied by management of the Nimbe Adedipe Library of the Federal University Of Agriculture, Abeokuta.

  • To introduce Nigerian Librarians to digital inclusion and data

analysis through the use of Wikipedia, the world largest online encyclopedia. .

  • To Identify and create Wikipedia articles for the identified and

notable African Americans who do not have Wikipedia articles .

  • To Identify African and Americans’ articles on Wikipedia that

need improvement.
