I tried it on Turkey in the Straw, and it didn't work. The text is still rendered as if it were in {{quote}}. I tried moving the <poem>...</poem> tags, to no avail. Do you have any more ideas? Esszet (talk) 05:14, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

Alternative to Template:Hangugeo

Would it be possible for someone to create an alternative template for {{Hangugeo}}? This template would have been perfect if it didn't accompany the Hangul with parentheses. Per {{Track listing}}, song titles in different languages and scripts should be used in a different parameter - see Template:Track listing#Smile by L'Arc-en-Ciel as an example.

For reference, it would essentially be the same as {{Nihongo2}}, which only requires the input kanji. There is currently no template that only requires the input of Hangul. — ξ^xplicit 03:15, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

NFL and NCAA passing (quarterback) rating templates

American football uses two primary and long-standing formulas for rating passing efficiency (typically used for the quarterback, but valid for any player who attempts passes). Both formulas use passing attempts (ATT), completions (COMP), passing yards (YDS), touchdown passes (TD), and interceptions (INT) with upper limits and omissions of negative portions of the formulas. The formulas can be seen here, including links to citations supporting the formulas and media-usage:

Template for Sport records

Hi, in many articles about sport competitions or biographies we use a link to the page of the specifical broken record for some gold medal winner, it could be an olympic, world or continental record. I think, we can optimize and standarize it with an unique template. This template should have two parameters, one for the kind of record (olympic, world, european, etc.) and the second one for the sport (athletics, swimming, cycling, etc.). So we can name the template:RCD, and for example, to call this page List of world records in swimming, we can use it in this way: {{RCD|W|sw}}. I try to make the template with this code:

I think there should be a template for death hoaxes. Actually, 2. One would be placed on the top of a fabricated "Death" section and would be basically a combination of {{recent death presumed}}, {{hoax}}, and {{unreferenced section}}. The Cyrillic has a navigation box but Latin doesn’t.

The Unicode fonts Arial, Arial Unicode MS, Bitstream Cyberbit, Charis SIL, Chrysanthi Unicode, ClearlyU, code2000, DejaVu Sans, DejaVu Serif, Doulos SIL, Everson Mono, FreeSerif, FreeSans, Unifont, Junicode, Linux Libertine, Lucida Grande, Lucida Sans Unicode, Microsoft Sans Serif, Noto Sans, Noto Serif, Quivira, Tahoma, Times New Roman and Segoe UI are used to display rarer characters correctly. Try to install the fonts to show these letters. And will also use uppercase letters just like Cyrillic navbox.

Template:NHL team schedule request

I am an amateur with templates that require more knowledge and usage of codes I do not understand. I am now requesting that somebody create or would help in the process of creating (if you don't mind) a season table for the NHL teams, such as 2016–17 Montreal Canadiens season#Schedule and results. I do not know if the template would require an extra template for the header of the schedules (e.g., 2016-17 Game Log). Parameters should include month (for the month of the games; would also need to include the record of that month as seen in the example used above), game (indicate the number of that game, e.g. game 82), visitor, score, home, OT, decision, attendance, record (team record of the season, e.g., 45-12-8), pts (points achieved as the season progresses), recap (recap of the game, would be identified as [http://website.com Recap]). For more examples, please see 2015–16 Montreal Canadiens season#Schedule and results where each parameter which would be used is explained better. In other words, I want a template that is a copy-paste of the current table(s) used now to create the scores and schedule. If any of this is confusing or you have any questions, please ping me. Vehicle livery template

I'd like to request a template that would show the colors of certain livery schemes used on various vehicles. My main intention is to use it for public transit vehicles (such as buses and trams) and for locomotives/railcars. I guess it would be an infobox by Wikipedia terminology, but it would be placed under the main vehicle infobox or in the respective article sections.

On how I imagine it, it would show the livery name, the period, an optional image (thumbnail), the main and misc. colors in labeled boxes, and an optional note that the livery colors are not precisely defined and are just approximations. I have made a quick mock-up of the intended look, it might need refinement because I don't know technically what is feasible in an infobox. The mock-up: http://i.imgur.com/TFSFDZy.png

I'd imagine that the template would take parameters such as name, period, an optional image filename, then color parameters like front1/front2/front3/front4/side1/side2/side3/side4/text1/text2 etc., and a yes/no for displaying the note about approximation. I don't know if it's feasible or relatively easily done, but it would help if the colored boxes would support grades from one color to another (this would of course double the color parameters). Also it would be useful if the boxes would show given color names/part names, or lacking that, the box's description (eg. Side main color #1) in tooltips. Furthermore it would come handy if a default color could be defined for each box group, so for each box with no parameters given, that color would apply.

As I want to make this clear, I don't intend this template to visually emulate the liveries themselves (in their looks), just to indicate the most used colors by "surface area" seen from different views (front/side/rear), so with some vehicles, only a few boxes would have a color set as a parameter, and with some vehicles, many more would be used.

The template {{Non-free video game screenshot}} is producing an unnecessary category Category:Screenshots of games if the first parameter is left empty, i.e. if two pipes are typed after the template name instead of one. For an example, see [1] or other current members of that category. Please change the code to avoid this. The default should be Category:Screenshots of video games, not just "of games".

RekishiEJ if I followed your request correctly you basically want the {{YouTube}} template functionality for {{Dailymotion}}. Well, I've pretty well created that using YouTube's template as the baseplate. There are only minor, possibly even superficial differences between the two. I just need to create the template doc so that it's useable without having to understand the source code itself. I've tested it out on my sandbox, it will take you to channels if you put |c=[channel name here], videos if you type in |id=[video id here], playlists if you input |p=[playlist id here] and users if you input |u=[user id here]. I haven't much experience with Dailymotion as a website, aside from WatchMojo (Mojosupreme) do you have any good examples of channels that I could use to give a little variety for the template doc examples? - I am about to add RedBull for user channel id, but, need a playlist and good video to add as well. Thought I'd add one more thing, I did a feasibility test for the template to go via Wikidata (like Twitter and Facebook do) so that you don't have to input anything other than the template itself. It will only work on a handful of pages total - such as CNES. Wikidata has less than 100 entries for P2942 (Dailymotion) and only about 10 of those are for external links. By comparison there are thousands of entries for P2013 (Facebook) that will link externally. Mr rnddude (talk) 12:52, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

I'd like to request the creation of a catalog lookup template for Tibetan Buddhist Resource Center (TBRC) digital library Resource ID Numbers. Their database contains a vast wealth of useful information about Tibetan authors, texts, places and institutions all linked to one of these RID numbers. In the case of texts, this RID number links to a publicly available digital copy (pdf) or e-text. All their data is provided under a Creative Commons CC-BY (3.0)license. These TBRC RID numbers are now widely used as authoritative references by scholars working in the field of [Tibetan studies] and in web resources such as the Treasury of Lives (a peer-reviewed collection of Tibetan biographies), Himalayan Art Resources (the world's largest educational resource for Himalayan Art and Iconography, cataloging over 85,000 images - and source of many images found on Commons and used in WP articles), Rigpa Wiki articles on persons and places. This template would be very useful in all articles related to Tibetan persons, lineages, places, and institutions; within various infoboxes used for such articles; as well as in citations to Tibetan authors and texts. I think the TBRC-RID would also make a very useful Wikidata item as it contains many entries for subjects not found in other databases. The template might link, either directly or via Wikidata, to the TBRC item through the TBRC Public Data Interface. I would see it working something like the ISBN template (although the TBRC database covers much more than texts). Thank you.

Template for currency (not on Wikipedia)

Hallo! I have an off-site request for this wiki (http://wiki.wargaming.net), and I need a template for that wiki. If someone could please create this template at User:Maethoredhel/Template:Currency, it would be greatly appreciated. Basically, the template needs to contain three parameters:

• Template name - {{currency}}
• Currency type (gold/credits, variable selection)
• Currency amount (undefined number until transcluded onto a page with a set number)

The purpose of the template on the other wiki is to display a number that is colored (#ffc364), with this image displayed to the right of the colored amount: File:Gold_currency_for_a_wiki.png I completely understand that my request may be declined; however if someone is able to create this template for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Talk page template about deleted images

I have added notice banners about not using the deleted images in talk pages, like one at Talk:Umpqua Community College shooting, one at Talk:Tales of Eternia, one at Talk:"Heroes" (David Bowie song), or one at Talk:I Will Remember You (Sarah McLachlan song). I have done that in other pages. Well, I used {{notice}} and the "X" stop sign logo.

Anyway, it should tell readers which deleted images and other images are not to be used, especially per one FFD discussion. Also, it should tell readers to first contact the administrator who deleted an image and/or do the deletion review. --George Ho (talk) 08:47, 8 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I would like a template that asks someone else to verify that an edit made was correct. I would like this because there are many times where I can't tell where an edit is correct and even a quick search can't find it. It would be {{verifyedit|revisionid=000000}} (Replacing 000000 with whatever the revision id is) Here's a quick edit in MSPaint.

Section merge/move template

In some articles, one section becomes so big and notable, some fell like it can become an independent article. This is happening in article TRAPPIST-1. Section "Planetary System" is so big and notable, I decided to make an article on it. (It needs some major help right now). While reviewing the section I thought it would be a good idea to place a template to help editors improve the new article, but I couldn't find the right one. The template I am suggesting is a template about the size of an {{Expand-section}} and contain text like "This section is being moved to an independent article. You can help by contributing to the article." It is quite similar to merge templates or move templates.

Hi, I'm looking for assistance from template writers in updating {{Duflu}}.

{{Duflu}} is a template which is used to add boilerplate text about a poorly translated article to the bottom of the Project Page Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English so the article can receive attention from translators and proofreaders.

I am proposing a change to the template {{Duflu}} to improve its usability for translator/editors by adding a new optional parameter. Actual section move / merge into other existing article

I was rather shocked to find that there doesn't seem to be a template for moving a section from one article into another existing article. There are the split section and merge templates, but there isn't a section merge template.

The place where this came to my attention is the Konkomba language article, whereby the Konkomba people section (whose heading I added because there were no headings before) should be merged into the existing Konkomba people article.

Yes, I see that. However, it does not say to move a section from one article to be merged into another; it only mentions portions. I've gone with the split section template where it includes an extension of "which already exists". In my opinion, it would be better if there were a template for "moving" or "merging" a section (whole, not portions) rather than having to using the one for "split" and simply using an add-on phrase, but I guess it's just a wording/clarity thing. Template to inform other language WPs of a deletion

The genesis of this request is an article that was recently deleted after an AfD discussion. The article had existed for over 5 years, and during that time, it had been translated into three other language wikis. I am looking for a way to inform the editors on those language wikis about the deletion, so that they can decide whether or not to initiate AfD proceedings for the translated pages.

I imagine that such a template would go at the top of the article and say "This article was translated from English Wikipedia on <date>. As of <date>, the original article no longer exists because of <reason>. The discussion that led to the deletion of that article is <here>."

I don't believe that the template should push for the translated article to be deleted, since that is up to the editors of those language wikipedias. It could contain a link to the new AfD page, if they want to use it.

Template:Cleanup (example!)

For templates like Template:Cleanup, I would like to suggest adding a period (full stop) for those parameters which are followed by a new default sentence. For example, if you add "reason=" here, in the displayed text two more sentences come after the manually added reason (Relevant discussion may be found on the talk page. Please help improve this article if you can). And I think people tend to forget to put in the period since you don't see the follow-up part when you add {{cleanup|reason=}}. One issue may be that they could issue two full stops, especially when used by editors who know they should include it and are used to those. A way to avoid that would be to add conditionals, although the template language is rather primitive and ugly. Presumably it would be possible to create a template like {{strip full stop|string}} or {{ensure full stop|string}}, which can work substituted or not (using Extension:StringFunctions for instance), such that warning box templates could then start to defer to that common functionality... It's possible that such a template already exists (to add or strip the full stop), but I failed to find one when searching a bit. — PaleoNeonate — 17:32, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

A template to produce a won–loss record, followed by winning percentage

Motivation

There are many articles about coaches in which won loss record and winning percentage are displayed. For example, see: Jim Flanery

One of the entries is: 269–183 ({{Winning percentage}})

Note the summary lines in the Head coaching record as well as the last line of the infobox.

In this particular case, the 2016–17 results need to be added to the table as a yearly entry and the totals must be updated. This update require an edit to the:

• School overall results
• School's conference result
• Total (overall)

While this isn't terrible onerous, the current values are typically portrayed as wins–losses followed by a template (Winning percentage) that calculates the ratio. To do the update, the wins must be updated, the losses must be updated, and then the two entries to the Winning percentage template must also be updated.

It would save time if a single template (I'll call it "winning record") would take wins and losses as input and produce the record followed by the percentage. With this template, the wins and losses could be updated once.

So for example "Winning record|60|40" would generate "60–40 (.600)"

I do not see this as replacing the existing template. There may be cases where you just want the percentage, and there may be cases where you just want the record. (As an aside {{Win-loss record}} exists, but doesn't seem to be used on article I edit.)

One caution - I mainly work on basketball articles, where ties are almost nonexistent, so if someone wants to make this general, for use in sports such as hockey, the template should take an optional third parameter for ties. I don't know how the percentage is calculated in those cases, so unless someone supplies the rules, it could be a two parameter template.

Regarding articles it would be used for, almost every blue link in List of current NCAA Division I women's basketball coaches could use it, and I suspect men's college as well as professional basketball articles, and probably other sports as well.--S Philbrick(Talk) 17:53, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

Template:Deprecated template

Where a parameter is required in a replacement template, Template:Deprecated template shows the required usage, but incorrectly encloses it in square brackets instead of curly braces. Please revise the presentation, so that what it tells the reader to use can actually be copied and pasted. Although simply improving the link to the template name to include braces would not be difficult, providing a complete replacement for the old usage would be non-trivial (it would require a standard conversion system which every new template would provide for the deprecated one(s) they replace). Redirect template that categorizes city/town names in the US that are redirects to City, State

For example, Amarillo redirects to Amarillo, Texas, and Framingham redirects to Framingham, Massachusetts. There are many more of these, since many city/town names are unique. However, there is currently no category that categorizes this form of redirect. The template and category combination I am requesting would be one that would be used with {{rcat shell}}. To make sure that the category doesn't begin empty, here are some redirects that should be categorized here: Little Rock, Pasadena, Yonkers, Duluth, Peabody, Dracut, Newburyport, Passadumkeag, and Meddybemps. I have processed a speedy rename from Category:Afc Submissions on hold more than 24 hours to Category:AFC submissions on hold more than 24 hours. The category has been empty during the request. It states that it is populated by Template:AFC submission, so the category renaming must require a change to that template. Squarified Tree Map

Although the Template:Pie chart works well, it can be hard to perceive relative areas of sectors in a pie when there are many regions. A "squarified" treemap could be a better choice for some data. Template:Auto ping

I use the ping template a lot. I realize it isn't all that hard to use, but it requires dropping the name of the user into the template which isn't terribly hard, but sometimes I mistype, or sometimes I try copying and pasting and don't get it exactly right, and, as is well known, if you send the message and don't get it exactly right, it's a bit complicated to fix it. I fully understand that if I'm partway down the page and want to ping someone who made a comment well up the page I need to do this, but nine times out of 10, I'm pinging the person in the line immediately above. How hard would it be to create a template, which I'm temporarily calling auto ping, which does not require a parameter but searches the immediately prior entry for signature and defaults to that user name? Infobox for a police/law enforcement unit

At present Infobox military unit Template:Infobox military unit is used for police/law enforcement unit articles. For example Hostage Rescue Team, Special Task Force (SAPS), [Grupo Especial de Operaciones]], Special Duties Unit, Victoria Police Special Operations Group, etc.. most of these List of special law enforcement units. Or else you use the Infobox law enforcement agency Template:Infobox law enforcement agency . Which means the whole police/law enforcement agency and not a specific unit such as LAPD SWAT uses LAPD Metropolitan Division. It's like using Template:Infobox national military for a military unit. Templates for AfDs

My impression is that this could help to make the AfD results more consistent, but might not necessarily be easier for users (unless there also were voting wizards/tools perhaps). There are existing counting scripts which can assist and automatically watch for various keywords which are in bold with unique signatures, of course their result is only to help, because the resulting consensus is not only evaluated by count. Another issue is that if those templates are widely used over time, they may ideally need to be substituted by a bot, unless we oblige users to also use subst i.e. {{subst:vote keep|1=reason}}... At the moment, AWB has a bug when catching "Unbalanced brackets" on some FIFA articles. This is because instead of ending with a template, the tables end with an extra curly bracket, which AWB catches as unbalanced unnecessarily. One thing that we should fix is how teams that only played one year like the Dayton Wolfpack say (2017-2017) instead of just (2017). I also don't think we need a separate Template:Infobox National Arena League team, Template:Infobox Indoor Football League team and Template:Infobox af2 team since there don't seem to be any major differences between the infoboxes. I think they could all just use Template:Infobox Arena Football League team (we could rename that template Template:Infobox indoor American football team). Definitely support merging all the different team info boxes into a generalized one. With all the league switching a more basic one would be better. I really like Template:Pro hockey team because it allows for things such as one season teams, league changes, merges, etc. Having highly specific templates actually makes it harder to edit and more likely to be broken by inexperienced editors in opinion. Help fixing a template

At User:CJK09/TemplateSandbox I'm trying to make my first ever template, which would simplify the addition of simple discography tables to music-related articles. As seen at User:CJK09/TemplateSandbox/testcases, the template works when only one album is entered, however when I enter more than one album, the album entries stack horizontally instead of vertically (the intent is for the entries to stack vertically). With many of us Wikipedians having to deal with the potential outcome of natural disasters (Hurricane Irma in my case), we may need to use a Wikibreak template in preparation for the incoming storm in case we're affected. Need added categories to template tennis sm tournament

The templates Template:Tennis sm tournament, Template:Tennis sm header, Template:Tennis sm match, Template:Tennis sm footer... all seem to have been written with only the men's tennis tournaments in mind. The ladies got left out. From what I can see, 90% of these templates will work for both sexes. It is used for things like specific tennis seasons such as 2017 Roger Federer tennis season. The only item in these templates that won't work for the women is the category level of the Tennis sm tournament. Right now we have:

• OL (Olympic Games)
• WC (ATP World Tour Finals)
• GS (Grand Slam)
• 1000 (ATP World Tour Masters 1000)
• 500 (ATP World Tour 500)
• 250 (ATP World Tour 250)

the women's equivalents that need adding would be:

• WF (WTA Finals) same coloring as WC
• PM (WTA Premier Mandatory) same coloring as 1000
• P5 (WTA Premier 5) also same coloring as 1000
• PR (WTA Premier) same coloring as 500
• IN (WTA International) same coloring as 250

Is there a place on Wikipedia for "coding help"?

Not sure this is the place for this request, but I've already tried the help desk and WP:VPT and been redirected to here, but anyway... I'm wondering if there is a centralized area on Wikipedia where editors who are having trouble with template coding can come and ask experienced coders for help. Those of us who work on articles related to music singles and albums often use three templates in those articles: {{Single chart}}, {{Album chart}} and {{Certification Table Entry}} (and its myriad of sub-templates). Because these three templates link to many different sources outside Wikipedia, they tend to be quite dynamic (because the outside websites frequently get revamped or restructured), regularly leading to a lot of broken links.

The problem is that most of the editors who work on these articles are good at creating content, but unable to modify the templates unless it's a basic fix. And the two editors who created the templates in the first place are no longer active on Wikipedia, so we have to ask for outside help. There are a couple of coders who have very kindly been helping us out as and when they can, but it would be nice if we didn't have to pester the same people over and over again, and just place our requests at a centralized help desk staffed by coders, and whoever has some time available can say, "I'll take a look at it". Template:Clear

Would it be possible to improve the settings for {{clear}} in such way that really always only a regular paragraph is created? Sometimes, when articles use this template in sections with images, the subsequent spacing is clearly larger than usual — cf. e. g. Germany#Biodiversity! The feature is indeed designed to be able to skip images or large boxes which get in the way of text. There may be alternatives though but they don't immediately come to mind, someone else may know. —PaleoNeonate – 01:31, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Inline templates

Considering those, I'd like to point out the following issue: When I tried to use Commons category-inline and Wikispecies-inline in the same section (Eurasian wolf#External links), I would have had to put an extra blank line between them since otherwise they both would have been displayed in the very same line and not one below the other. Is there a way to generally fix that for future reference (for the cited section, I think by now it's fine the way it is now)?--Tuchiel (talk) 15:58, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

Long-term abuse

Could someone create something along the lines of Template:Sockpuppeteer but instead link to long-term abuse? At SPI, long-term abuse cases generate the message "A long-term abuse case exists at Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/Example." A template like this would be great for tagging user pages, as in many cases, there is nothing on them that directly indicates that a long-term abuse case exists. Flagicon issue

I usually edit only for the German WP, but I would like to "translate" my de:Liste der Länder nach Preisniveau to the english WP. The flag icons templates are identical. As you say, translating headings, changing decimal conventions, and re-alphaetizing are obvious. The only thing non-obvious is the class="hintergrundfarbe6" on the header line, which can simply be deleted without much harm. Also, in English the usual symbol for missing data in a table is an em-dash (—) rather than an ellipsis (...). Thus, I might translate it as:

@104:153: Only re-alphabetizing, nothing else (the minor changes in typographic conventions is of course obvious). When I downloaded the table, I had to translate the english country names into german using an Excel file, then I pasted the table to the WP. As I did not have the intention to translate the table later on, I did not keep the file. And now I try to avoid to the same in reverse way... So, is it possible to achieve the re-alphabetizing just by the sort setting? The table is about the relative purchasing power of the respective currencies. Originally I created the page with the title "List of countries by purchasing power", but later I moved it to "List of countries by price level", since the latter one is more precise, while the first one could be possibly missunderstood as "Puchasing power of the average income/GDP per capita".--Antemister (talk) 11:44, 28 October 2017 (UTC)

Broader template for pages subject to disclosed paid editing

Currently, Wikipedia uses this template for articles that have been the subject of disclosed paid editing. My concerns about this template, and my reasoning for a new template or modification of the current one are as follows:

• The Template:Paid contributions template does not show up when viewing an article on a mobile device (instead it is listed in "page issue", a tab that must be opened to be read), unlike the Template:Undisclosed paid, which can be seen on mobile devices. This lack of visibility allows disclosed paid editors to effect Wikipedia articles without a large portion of the encyclopedia's readers being adequately informed that the content they are reading has been subjected to paid editing.
• Per Wikipedia:DISCLOSEPAY, disclosed paid editors must state on an article's talk page that they have been paid to make edits. However, most readers of Wikipedia are likely left unaware of these paid edits as article talk pages are seldom read by non-editors.
• The text of Template:Paid contributions reads "This article contains paid contributions. It may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view. Please discuss further on the talk page." The caveat about "require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies" leads me to believe a new tag should created for pointing out edited-for-pay articles, as the cleanup caveat has been used by paid editors to remove the Paid contributions tag and thus leave readers unaware that the content they are reading has been edited for pay. Note that the UDP tag remains in place even if the undisclosed paid edits meet Wikipedia's neutrality policy.

With all of the above being said, I propose two solutions to the problem as I see it. I also realize that there may have been policies that I have overlooked. My proposals are:

• Modify the existing Template:Paid contributions along the lines of Template:Undisclosed paid so that the tag is visible on mobile devices. I would also recommend changing the color of the template from orange to another color so that the template is not so readily grouped in with other tags.

Or

• Create a new template using Template:Undisclosed paid as, well, a template. This new template would be applied to all articles that have been the subject to paid editing, and would be visible on the mobile version of Wikipedia. The tag would persists as long as the paid edits remained disclosed on the article talk, regardless of the quality of the edits, much in the way the UDP tag does. This new tag would also close the loophole by which disclosed paid editors are able to make edits in line with policy and thus avoid having the edited article being tagged with Template:Paid contributions. The text of the new template would be brief, stating something along the lines of "This article has been edited for disclosed payment."

In my view, these two changes would better serve the project's goals and prevent abuse of Wikipedia:NOT that I have seen in my time editing Wikipedia. Thoughts?--SamHolt6 (talk) 23:53, 2 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello! Due to a problem with this template that took me quite a while to figure out, in fact, I ended up on Help:Cite errors/Cite error references missing key by clicking on the respective link at the end of the error report "Cite error: A list-defined reference named "..." is not used in the content (see the help page)." Finally, there I found out that the error explained in the third example had occurred in my case: I forgot to remove the ref-tags. Thus my question: Wouldn't it be possible and useful in cases like these to receive an error report identifying and directly addressing the type of error occurring as far as defined (or dealt with within the examples on the help page)? I am quite certain that this could make life a lot easier especially for less experienced authors like me… Now, I hope this is not a totally silly idea, and to receive some comments. Rewriting of {{CANelec}}

It would be quite worthwhile to create a template which is capable of calculating the vote share percentages on its own, instead of relying on editors to calculate it. That way we can ensure accurate percentages in addition to ensuring consistency when it comes to numbers past the decimal place. Ideally this template would just take in the candidates, parties, and votes for each and would calculate the rest of the information. Film Production Cleanup Template

Hi, I've been trying to wrap my head around coding templates for a couple days, but I really can't seem to do it. I want to make a template to similar to Template:Long plot regarding production section. We recently (in December) updated the manual of style to discourage production section bloat which often consisted of excessive announcements to the public and dates people were cast. We found these to be non helpful and there was a consensus against including such information,

I want to build a template (and maintenance category) which would read something to the extent of "This film's production section may excessively rely on routine announcements which are discouraged by the Film Manual of Style" You can help by removing or condensing such information"

Nihongo template for tables

For Japan related lists, specifically those in Template:Cultural Properties of Japan, Template:Cultural Properties of Japan - structures and perhaps some others I am missing, it would be good to have a slightly modified Template:nihongo. The parameters should be the same as in the nihongo template, but instead of arranging them inline they should (1) appear vertically stacked above each other, (2) horizontally centered in the cell and (3) the romaji should be printed smaller. For an example of what it should look like, see for instance List of Important Cultural Properties of Japan (Shōwa period: structures). The Wall tracks

Every song on The Wall seems to have the song immediately before it and immediately after it on the article and we could save the confusion with a template. Case in point Waiting for the Worms. In addition the album in question is a concept album that is a story so much so that they made a film (Pink Floyd – The Wall) out of it, so having the next track so you could follow the plot would be a welcome and useful addition to the wiki page of every song.

It should look like the normal Teahouse talkback but should not say that the person being notified can respond on the page being linked to.

Template: Obsolete Storage Formats

Recently, I was browsing through several different articles on the history of computers, and I realized that there was no template for obsolete storage formats. I was attempting to learn about them, as I had been intrigued by the ZipDisk article, and I had thought that perhaps it would be a useful resource, allowing for Wikipedians to easily browse these types of articles. There could be sections split up by company, with links to articles on interesting mediums like UMDs, ZipDisk, Clik! drives, WORM drives, Punch cards, SuperDisk, and other interesting obsolete storage formats on Wikipedia. I wanted to also request a category, but I can't find a place to request that. I would also make the template, but I haven't learned how to yet. Over the summer I will work on that. Also, I don't know where to put this, but someone moved HVDs onto the tape section of the ecma standards template. How do you fix that? SuperChris (talk) 19:33, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

Opening line for discography pages

I've noticed small discography pages tend to just contain a short intro, for example, "This is the discography of [genre] [producer/artist/singer/musician] [subject]." Can someone please make a template to substitute this intro or something similar to start a discography page? For example, in the case of Pegboard Nerds, their discography page reads (without links): "This is the discography of electronic dance music producers...Pegboard Nerds."
