Samuel Schwartz (talent agent)

My article on Sam Schwartz was proposed for deletion and I didn't catch it in the 7-day objection deadline. Schwartz is a major music agent at the industry's leading composer agency. He's guided the careers of some of today's most prominent artists, and is extremely well-known in this arena. I could have fleshed out the article a bit more, so really it's my own fault. -Clusey wiki (talk) 23:18, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

While his agency has an article, The Gorfaine/Schwartz Agency, Inc. there really wasn't much to say about the man, as he doesn't have significant coverage in secondary sources. Most of the article was duplicative of the The Gorfaine/Schwartz Agency, Inc. article. Is there something verifiably notable about him outside the agency? --Bejnar (talk) 01:33, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Note, article was not prodded, it was Afd'd at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Samuel Schwartz (talent agent). --Bejnar (talk) 02:35, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Victoria Pynchon, Charis Michelsen, Jeffrey Steinberger

The Victoria Pynchon article has been on Wikipedia for a year and a half. The administrator, Brandon, removed it on Feb 5, and then within minutes removed two other articles I had athored. The reason he gave for the deletion of all three articles was: G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion. The first article was literally about two hours old and was about a lawyer, Jeffrey Steinberger. Brandon deleted it while I was, literally, in the process of adding to it and sourcing it. After he deleted it, I read his reason, along with a three-year-old notation that indicated a page about Jeffrey Steinberger had been deleted in 2007. I was unaware that there was a previous article about this person, otherwise I would have contacted the original administrator who deleted that article (who wasn't Brandon) to inform the administrator that I was writing an article. Brandon replied to my appeal with a broken Craigs List link and the comment "Paid edit?" I responded (it's on both my talk page and Brandon's talk page) that I am an individual and I do not take pay for editing nor have I ever been offered to be paid for editing Wikipedia content. Brandon in one fell swoop, within minutes of deleting the Jeffrey Steinberger article, then deleted the Victoria Pynchon article. Then, within a minute or two, he deleted the Charis Michelsen article. I would like to rewrite these three articles in neutral language and reference all statements with reliable sources. I've already, in a Word document, completely rewritten the Victoria Pynchon article with NPOV and have nearly completed the Charis Michelsen article doing the same thing, and I can do the same thing with the Jeffrey Steinberger article. Brandon has not responded nor discussed with me anything I have written to him since his two-word "Paid editing?" reply. Thank you very much for your time and for you consideration to undelete. -AuthorAuthor (talk) 12:00, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

I've fixed some links above and will notify Brandon of this request. Maybe he can clarify any background. As this isn't the best place to discuss the validity of the deletions (Deletion review would be), one way to move forward would be to restore the pages to your user space where you can address their issues and then move the improved version back to article space. Tikiwont (talk) 20:50, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Can you give me an example of the exact link for my user space where I would be to restore the pages using a neutral POV? Thanks very much.--AuthorAuthor (talk) 23:16, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Done Well I meant to restore the original pages with their histories. They are now at:
Once they're are good or better really good you should use the move tab to bring them back.--Tikiwont (talk) 22:00, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Color Symbolism and Psychology

Attempting to address quality concerns in AfD for the article while RfD is in-process due to RfD unfolding unproductively -Ender78 (talk) 08:53, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

    • I've provisionally restored the article to make the edits that were deemed lacking in the original AfD, but User:TimSong re-deleted on my last attempt. A temporary cease-fire would be in order. Quality/clarity editing already underway. Ender78 (talk) 08:59, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Not done Noting that advice on how to deal with this request isn't needed, there is simply nothing to undelete as DGG has already restored the content and it is visible in the edit history and debate is going on at DRV. Nothing is being deleted right now, but edit warring about whether it is visible is always unfolding unproductively.--Tikiwont (talk) 09:21, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Tikiwont, check the history: I restored the article to address the concerns in the AfD, Tim_Song deletes a half-hour later. What's more important? The content, or policy? I'm steadily removing, reworking, and referencing the content, and I need the leeway to get that completed. Ender78 (talk) 09:36, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
I already checked the history. You need to check terms. DGG restored the whole article history and you restored content. Tim Song reverted, you again. That is not deletion. There is no undeletion to do now and confirming the one that has take place would be the prerogative of the DRV as this notice board is for uncontroversial undeletions only. If you need time to improve content a separte draft in userspace might be your best option. --Tikiwont (talk) 09:43, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. The previous deletion as copyright violation had already been undone per an OTRS ticket, but the article had subsequently been proposed for deletion. I'll let the edior in question know. BugUp Tracker

Hi, I can understand why BugUp Tracker is foreseen as not notable, but since this is my first article regarding bug-tracking shareware/freeware software, that produce great results (from my own experience as a QA manager), i would like to request that it would be undeleted. I have worked with numerous bug-tracking software systems and would like to contribute from my experience to start up companies (such as was my own company), and assist them to locate the best products to support their work. if you have doubts regarding the notability of the product, please review the latest page they added (http://www.informup.com/startupfree.aspx) which is testament to their success with start-ups. since this is my first page in a series of articles that are meant to benefit others, I'd appreciate Wikipedia's editors support. I placed a question with Haakon, and he never responded, and if you type "BugUp Tracker" in google you will see that this software is registered in a lot of sites, as well as being reviewed. Let me know which evidence (if added) other than that displayed, would be convincing enough for the Wikipedia editors to show their support. thanks Benblum1 (talk) 08:57, 18 February 2010 (UTC) -Benblum1 (talk) 08:57, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

ReadyTalk

This article appears to have been unilaterally deleted out of bias and/or misinformation. If I am not mistaken, it was deleted for "spamminess" [sic], a lack of notability and a lack of valid third-party references. Black Brazilian

Was redirected to Afro-Brazilian after a grand total of two people voted for that, without giving any compelling argument for it (stated rationale was that it is a NPOVFORK). I made many arguments of why it shouldn't be merged into Afro-Brazilian; not one of them was addressed. I have demonstrated how Afro-Brazilian is not only NPOV, but directly based on a lie (the source given for calling those people "Afro-Brazilians" calls them "negros", which translates into "Negroes" or "Blacks", not into "Afro-Brazilian". No one argued against that. No one was able to bring a source that corroborates the title of the article.

Debate never took place, there was never a conclusion. Please restore it and allow more people to take a stand. -Ninguém (talk) 09:27, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Done - the article was deleted (nearly two years ago) by the Proposed deletion process, so is automatically restored on request. I will notify Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk · contribs), who proposed deletion, in case he wishes to nominate it under the WP:Articles for deletion process. The reason for PRODding was "No assertion of notability using reliable sources": notability is a requirement to have a Wikipedia article, and is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones like agencies, and press releases. You may wish to add such independent sources to the article. More detail at WP:Notability (people). JohnCD (talk) 14:25, 20 February 2010 (UTC).

Whole Foods Market

Public Anti-Universal Healthcare Stance By Mackey]I do not know if the article is being deleted by Wikipedia or by Whole Foods but it continues to be deleted. It is not a disparaging article but a fact backed up by a citation from the Wall Street Journal. The fact that Whole Foods' CEO came out against Universal Healhcare in 2009 was a huge moment for the company and its customers. The fact that it was located nowhere on the page seems propoganist--like an attempt to revise history -76.238.153.231 (talk) 23:15, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Cfcuk

Hi I am writing to request an undeletion for the page I entered about the English football fanzine cfcuk. It seem (I think) that I made the initial mistake of saying that the cfcuk fanzine was ‘notable’, not realising that ‘notability’ is an extremely important Wikipedia term. The page consisted of a brief history about the cfcuk football fanzine and a review of whom it has interviewed, its ‘standing’ amongst the Chelsea support by way of personalities visiting the matchday stall from where it is sold (prior to and after Chelsea home matches) and also some information concerning the ‘special editions’ that have been published and also its relevance to both the club itself and the supporters. Whilst I understand that I cannot ask why fanzines from other football clubs are allowed to stay within the Wikipedia website and the cfcuk one isn’t, I must say that I feel it is, nevertheless, somewhat unfair considering I feel that all the reasons that were cited for the deletion were answered with reasonable sources and explanations quoted each time. I hope that, after reading this, you will reconsider your decision and reinstate the afore mentioned and now deleted cfcuk page. Thank you -Blueblagger 23:43, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Not done Your user page has been not only deleted but oversighted so that no trace remains even of its history, and it is not possible to undelete it. Ashley Gibson

I believe the original article would be about 5 years old. The new article would be a month old. Don't know who or why it was deleted, just that there is a new article in its place. Return of the old material allowing the merging of material and article history would be the logical way to go about things. -This deal is getting worse all the time. (talk) 15:28, 22 February 2010 (UTC) Followed the links all the way through and found the incubated article. A link from a Wikipedia page to that reference was void, leading to 'editing', so I established a link -Pierre F. Walter 11:49, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Not done. This one has a complicated history. It was input in January 2008. Individual schools or institutes within a University are not normally considered notable enough for stand-alone articles, and an Articles for deletion debate was started at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination at Princeton University; one user suggested that in this case there was enough notability, but it was then discovered that the article was a copyright violation. At that point the original author blanked the article, which was taken as a request for deletion. As the text was a copyright violation, it cannot be restored, but it seems that an article about the Institute might be acceptable, if you care to write one - see Your first article for advice. Alternatively, you could post a request at WP:Requested articles. JohnCD (talk) 12:46, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

You have redirected this page to Hathershaw College which is not the same thing. Also the information on the College page referring to the school is wrong. Hathershaw Tech - from Greaves Street to Bellfield Avenue

You have deleted this page due to alleged copyright infringement of http://www.keithroyales.net. But this is my site and therefore is not an infrigement. Please restore. I have sent you the permission by email using your form. This is important educational information which I have been requested to put on Wikipedia. -Bellfield Lemon (talk) 08:14, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

There are additional reasons to delete that article beyond potential copyright infringement. It is unsourced, original research. If it is your site and you have sent in the proper forms, etc., then I will avoid tagging it for CSD as a copyright infringement (although I do not have access to these forms so someone else will have to verify), but you are uploading an essay. You should work to incorporate your information -- with proper sourcing -- into the article on Hathershaw Tech, or whatever article is most appropriate (I'm unsure, based on your comments above) and do it in an encyclopedic tone. You should not start a new article to host an essay you wrote. Thank you. ɠǀɳ̩ςεΝɡbomb 21:09, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Not done - as the article is a copyright violation of http://keithroyales.net/History_of_Hathershaw.html. Guildable Manor

yourRationale -89.168.7.131 (talk) 22:28, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Dr R Jones deleted this article for 'copyright infringement' of our website 'guildable.org'. We had no objection to the use of the information. We are an ancient, historic and genuine public body, not in any way commercial, but civic, social, heritage and charitable in objects, of which many inquirers google and search for and the wikipedia is the first find, it then links through to our current website and other contact info. The article had multiple cross-references from other articles relating to the City of London, Livery Companies, Southwark, Old Bailey, Royal Courts of Justice, Manorial rights, Quit Rents, Courts Leet etc. Our website is being expanded to include much more info relating to activities. Frankly, there are reems of pages in wikipedia which are pure personal vanity and we cannot understand why we are not worth a page - if there was less information there would be a very poor article indeed. Tony Sharp. clerk@guildablemanor.org 89.168.7.131 (talk) 22:28, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Nobody is saying that your institution is not worth a page, but copyright is a very serious matter for Wikipedia, and mere assertion of permission to use is not enough. The licence under which Wikipedia is published means that in releasing material to Wikipedia you are not merely allowing us to reproduce it, you are also giving permission to anyone to copy it from us, modify it, and use it for any purpose. The situation is explained at WP:Copyrights#Contributors' rights and obligations, and the steps you need to take to release material, if you own the copyright, are at WP:Donating copyrighted materials. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 22:44, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
Also, as I mentioned on your talk page, much copyrighted material is still unsuitable even if the copyright is released if it is written in such a way as to constitute promotion or advertising. All Wikipedia content is expected and required to be written from a neutral point of view. I'm not saying that is necessarily the case here, but it's something you should keep in mind. Might I suggest creating a user subpage in order to create a draft version of the article that would not run afoul of these policies? Then it can be reviewed and any fixes made before it "goes live" and the risk of speedy deletion is much lower. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:09, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Nassim Haramein

I have been looking for info on Nassim Haramein and found that his page was deleted for reasons that puts wikipedia's encyclopedic 'morality/duty' in question. It was felt that because people disagree with his theories or felt that he had no right to claim he was a scientist would reduce the credibility of wikipedia. These were secondary to the problem that it was hard to validate his claim as a scientist. Now there is verifiable proof that his science shows promise. Nassim has been awarded Casys 09 award for the 'best paper award' for the symposium on physics, quantum mechanics, relativity, field theory and gravitation. The paper reaffirms Einstein's theory of relativity in the face of 100 yrs of quantum theory that has claimed to have superiority. Einstein said near the end of his life that he had wasted his life on the basis of the emerging quantum theory disproving his ideas. Now Nassim Haramein has discovered a solution which makes more mathematical sense than the quantum theories. He has accounted for a constant called the strong nuclear force. This theory follows his wider theories, which was the line of inquiry that led him to producing this paper. Wikipedia should examine this further and withdraw the imposed ban on Nassim Haramein wikipedia articles. -Elphilosopher (talk) 16:15, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Not done - the article cannot be restored on request here: it was deleted as a result of a deletion discussion at ‎ Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nassim Haramein (2nd nomination), and because it has been created so many times has been protected against re-creation. Read the deletion discussion first; then, if you think you can make an article which meets the reasons for deletion given there, your best course would be to make a draft in your user-space at User:Elphilosopher/Nassim Haramein and then approach either user Brandon (talk · contribs), the admin who closed the deletion discussion, or user Abecedare (talk · contribs), the admin who protected the title against re-creation, and ask for it to be unprotected. If you cannot convince them, you can take it to WP:Deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 17:46, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

The Edlington Attempted Murders

I wish to have this article restored as this article may have the content I am looking for about last April of the attempted murders of schoolboys in Edlington. I do acknowledge that this article may have been deleted; due to restrictions of their names being anonymous. However, that is not at my attention. Laura Carlsen - Unjustified Deletion

Unjustified Deletion -201.137.105.51 (talk) 17:56, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

This article was removed in 2007 because the person was deemed a non-notable person. This is not the case. Laura Carlsen is a renowned expert in Latin American affairs. She is a member of the Center for International Policy, a well-respected Washington.based think tank, and is director of the organization's Americas Program. She regularly writes for Foreign Policy in Focus and had an article recently published by The Nation. She is a frequent guest on Democracy Now and wrote extensively on the Honduras Crisis, and her articles became a point of reference for the subject. She appears regularly on CNN, Al jazeera and Telesur.

If this article is reposted, I promise to update the article appropriately.

Done The article was deleted under the WP:Proposed deletion process for uncontentious deletions, and so is automatically restored on request. I will notify user Fram (talk · contribs), who proposed it for deletion, in case he wishes to nominate it under the WP:Articles for deletion process, but I will tell him that you plan to update it.
What you need to establish is notability, a requirement to have a Wikipedia article, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and press releases. More detail at WP:Notability (people). Sources associated with the subject can be cited to provide verification, but do not count towards establishing notability.
I have added one reference to the article, in order to lift it out of the currently contentious category Unreferenced biographies of living persons; but that raises another concern: the wording of the article is almost identical to that of the website I have listed as a reference. As a matter of some urgency, you should either rewrite the article in your own words, or arrange a copyright release as described in WP:Donating copyrighted materials - note that just asserting permission to use is not enough.
There is good advice at WP:Your first article, and you should read the policy on WP:Biographies of living persons. If you are planning to contribute, may I suggest that you register an account, which is easy and free, and will make communication easier?
Regards, JohnCD (talk) 18:47, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
Update: the restored article has been deleted as a copyright violation of this. What to do next: check that you can find independent references to establish notability as explained above; if so, write an article in your own words, for which you will need to register an account or, if you don't want to do that, place a request at WP:Requested articles. Ananta Das Babaji

I have looked at the discussion trail and found that the person that deleted it is a member of the opposite group, the Hare Krishna or such like. And i remember in the past that he has caused for other pages be deleted for the same mean reason, because he belongs to the opposite camp. I think the reason for the deletion is very mischievous and mean. The reason cited is petty. Pandit Sri Ananta das is a revered scholar of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition and has written many books in the Indian language and English. He has many disciples in India and in the west. I request that the page be restored ASAP. Thanks -58.107.177.114 (talk) 05:09, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

List of nontheists (surnames E to G)

No clue why a portion of the List of athiests was deleted. The list was so long that it had to be broken up into sub articles by last name. Both the List of nontheists (surnames E to G) and List of nontheists (surnames H to K) were deleted (speedy) whilst the rest were left intact. I won't go so far as to speculate on bad faith but the articles clearly don't meet speedy deletion criteria (considering they have extensive content not elsewhere found on wiki) and that the deletions weren't uniform and looked poorly thought out/hasty at best. Please review and undelete. -Nefariousski (talk) 21:03, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Teechart

TeeChart is a non-commercial and commercial programmer's charting library in existence since 1995. Widely acclaimed and offered to the Borland Delphi community since 1995 (as profit and non-profit) and with (amongst commercial products) a free charting library product to the .NET community since 2003 (see for example http://www.steema.com/download/other_projects). TeeChart has been used in professional and academic circles for many years. A quick Google search gives 154,000 hits, more, for example, than some other similar entity types with wikipedia page entries. Other examples of this entity type would be "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dundas_Data_Visualization,_Inc." (in this case a company) and "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fusioncharts" (in this case a charting library). We are unsure of the deletion criteria in the face of the existence of the aforementioned pages and the relative search-engine hitcount. Deletion comments include "I can't find significant coverage for this company". TeeChart is not a company, it is a 'much-loved' charting library. Thanks in advance for your attention. My interest is subjective in nature but hopefully objective in terms of worth analysis. -Mmbcn (talk) 10:47, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
