Article needed?

I've recently done some minor copyediting on a couple of Islamic schools, and have come across the term "Nazra" to describe one of the subjects they teach. It appears to be related to the Quran in some way, but I can't find any information on it (besides the fact that courses in it appears to be offered very widely). Sultans or not

If someone here feels inclined to help, there's a minor dispute on whether Nasrid rulers styled themselves sultans or not (regardless of whether Western sources called them that). Al-Muzzammil

I'm of the opinion that this and any similar articles should be taken to AfD if all they are just going to be copies of the verses (even if there is an English translation accompanying them). Texts belong on Wikisource. The articles should be kept but the text and translations should be deleted from the article(s) and replaced with links to Wikisource or some other online source. Abdul Muttalib (grandfather of Muhammad)

There is a pretty bad spelling error there. The article is misspelled called Abdul Mutallib (one t two ls). The problem is the correct spelling, Abdul Muttalib, is a disambiguation page. I can see two options: (1) rename it to Abdul Muttalib (grandfather of Muhammad) (this is the easiest fix but maybe not the best). (2) take the namespace at Abdul Muttalib and rename Abdul Muttalib to Abdul Muttalib (disambiguation). This should be done if this person is far and away the most famous "Abdul Muttalib". The problem is I don't know enough about Islam to make that decision. So, those who know more about this than me... what should it be renamed to? Adpete (talk) 01:31, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

The standard approach, based on looking at other pages, is to use Abdul Muttalib (name). See for example, Muhammad (name), Abdullah (name).Wiqi(55) 10:27, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
For full names (as opposed to single names), "disambiguation" is the WP standard, e.g. John Howard (disambiguation). But whether we use "(name)" or "(disambiguation)" is a minor issue (and easily fixed by redirects). My main question is whether it's OK to have the grandfather of Muhammad as the main Abdul Muttalib. He is certainly the main one if I judge by incoming links at the disambiguation page Abdul Muttalib. Adpete (talk) 11:00, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
I think his grandfather qualifies as the most notable "Abdul Muttalib". Also "(name)" should be preferred since "Abdul Muttalib" is a single name. Wiqi(55) 11:07, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Islam and Domestic Violence

I believe that WikiProject Islam has several informative subpages and legitimate information. However, I believe that overall it lacks various contrasting viewpoints about disputations in Islam. There are several stereotypes and issues society does not fully comprehend about the religion, such as women's roles and domestic violence. Specifically, I propose to expand on knowledge about Islamic women who are victims of domestic violence in various countries in a subpage of WikiProject Islam. I will be updating and expanding an existing article on Wikipedia called “Islam and domestic violence.” Topics that will be covered in our revised page will be: the definition of domestic violence, a general overview of Islamic and it’s effect on women, honor-related violence, current attitudes towards violence in Islamic countries, individual and community-level violence, and possible solutions to put an end to domestic violence. Muhammad, visual depictions and the sore need for expert commentary

At AN/I there is currently a discussion that relates to whether or not it is appropriate or accurate/educational to have depictions of Muhammad throughout that entry. For the AN/I discussion see - HERE. For the discussion at the entry talk page see - Talk:Muhammad/images. The reason I'm posting here is that I'm surprised by some of the comments being made by various contributors. For instance, just now I was told that Muhammad is not a religious article, it is merely a biography. I clearly disagree completely. This discussion is in sore need of knowledgeable commentators. Said Nursi, The Article Importance

Hi, I just add this article into high importance list and WPI Muslim scholars task force. This scholar lived in Turkey and wrote 6000 pages books and these books translated to 45 diffirent languages and pretty much international symposiums organised on him. Abd Allah ibn Hijazi al-Sharqawi

Abd Allah ibn Hijazi al-Sharqawi was apparently a Khalwati sufi scholar around 1800. The article's pretty terrible and stubby, and I'm not sure it actually establishes notability at the moment. But I'm more concerned about the birth year listed here. I have pretty serious reservations about the editor who added it (I just sent the two articles he created to AFD as probably hoaxes), and I'm having trouble finding confirmation in anything that's not a Wikipedia mirror. But I have poor availability of reference material that would cover 19th century Egyptian Islamic scholars to begin with. Could anyone with better resources take a peek? Dear Ossifrage, I am also not sure whether he's enough notable or no. He was a scholar of Al-Azhar. Google search gives almost half a million result for his name (using Arabic script). Anyway, I added the link of Arabic wiki to the article.--Aliwiki (talk) 21:52, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Hrm. Well, as I suspected, the English article's birth year was a problem. The Arabic Wikipedia has him born in 1150 AH. Unless I'm really bad at this, that's more like 1737 than 1759, and I've adjusted our article to match the Arabic one, which I have more faith in. With that many results from Google, I'm inclined to think there's sourcing possible out there. I'm sort of out of my element here, so improvements are probably going to have to come from someone else, but I won't try to hit the article up for deletion or anything. Thanks for the help. Dispute at Ali that needs help

If anyone here is active, I could use some help at Talk:Ali. Two editors are arguing about...well, I'm not entirely sure. I think about how to spell or describe Ali and/or his father in English, along with a lot of other details. Part of the discussion revolves around Arabic sources, which I cannot read and thus have no useful input on. Additionally, there are concerns about what constitutes a primary source and what constitutes a secondary source, and how to interact with both. 2nd opinion sought

I just noticed in the article End time there is a lengthy list titled "Minor signs" under Sunni Islam. The list is unsourced; a few cursory searches resulted in similar lists, but none at any sites that appeared to be very scholarly. The list itself seems kind of dubious to me, and the annotations aren't helpful in determining the source. Thoughts? OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:50, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Barnstar challenge

For a barnstar, is anyone able to locate this alleged hadith (cf. also Gruber, [1], [2]) in one of the hadith collections? It's attributed to Tirmidhi by Schimmel, but no one can find it there. It appears it was also quoted by Mehmet Khaqani in his Hilye-i Serife, but again, no one seems to know in which Hadith collection this or similar ahadith can be found. This sounds like it could be one of the ahadith here [4], in Tirmidhi's Shamaa-il. (Arabic), e.g. 391, 394, 395 etc. But do any of these use the word hilya in the Arabic original? I've been told (over on German Wikipedia) that they do not, and that it's something of a mystery why some recent and older writers have translated such passages (if these are indeed the ahadith concerned) using the word "hilye", if the Arabic word "hilya" does not occur in the Arabic original of the ahadith.
As far as I can tell at the moment, there seems to be some confusion between Turkish and Arabic language usage. In Turkish, hilya or hilye is used to denote a short, telegrammatic text describing the physical appearance and character of an esteemed person, above all of course the Prophet himself. Turkish calligraphists will say that there are hilyes (verbal descriptions) of Moses, Jesus, Abu Bakr and many other such persons, using this as a technical term to denote the type of short descriptive texts that they use for hilye calligraphy (or even sometimes inscribed on a rose, apparently). However, in Arabic, I'm told by Arabic speakers over on German Wikipedia, hilya does not have that meaning, i.e. it does not denote a literary genre consisting of short descriptive texts. Of course such descriptions exist in the ahadith and elsewhere, but there is no literary category label in Arabic calling such texts "hilyas". The Hilyat al-Awliya’ by Abu Nu’aym, for example, does not consist of such texts. It is simply a collection of biographies.
It's come up because the alleged references by the Prophet to "my hilye" in the ahadith has obviously played a role in the reception of hilya calligraphy in the Ottoman Empire, leading to the viewing of hilyes being considered as a mystical way of "seeing" the prophet in one's mind's eye (as in a dream), with the attendant benefits for one's soul. The missing link is how the Prophet's statements on a believer seeing him in a dream came to be reassigned to mean a believer reading a (calligraphic) description of his appearance (as in Taskale's version of the hadith, clearly referring to a written document). Help with sources needed

I've recently copyedited the Muhammad Qadiri article substantially, both to remove the flagrant POV violations and to improve the flow of text. However, I've really struggled to find sources for it. None of the sources mentioned in the References list appear to exist (leastways not in a format I can access), and the only other mentions I can find are from Naushahia-related sources, which disqualifies them from establishing notability per WP:GNG and WP:SPS.

I'm hoping someone more expert with Arabic sources can take a look over the alleged references listed at the bottom of the article and turn at least some of them into inline cites - or better yet, locate some other third-party sources that could be used to fulfil WP:NOTE. Arabic speaker required – hadith wording

Could one of our Arabic speakers please confirm what the original Arabic phrase is for the words "noble features" in Hadith no. 7 on this page? The corresponding Arabic page is here. The Arabic phrase used is "ḥilyat al-nabī" (tra. "the hilya of the Prophet"). Most likely referring to a verbal description of the looks and manners of the Prophet rather than any written form of hilya. Wiqi(55) 20:06, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, Wiqi55. Am I correct in assuming that ḥilya just means "description" here? I'm confused, because some sources translate it as "adornment", and others as "description", "appearance". I imagine that in the situation described here, if a child asks his uncle, he would simply ask "what did he look like?" --JN466 23:15, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
I have just checked al-munjid (the standard modern Arabic-Arabic dictionary) and two sense of hilya are given:
* al-ḥilya: "what is used for adornment, like certain minerals or gemstones."
* ḥilyat al-insān (tr. "the hilya of a person"): "what is seen from [that person's] color, appearance, and form."
My guess is that "hilya" in the linked narration denotes what is seen of the Prophet, i.e., his color, appearance, form, etc.

Concubinage

Recently, a substantial section has been added to the article on Concubinage as it pertains to the theology of Islam (see Concubinage#In Islamic theology). The section raises many interesting points and is a needed and potentially valuable addition to the article, but has some instances of non-encyclopedic tone and could use some copyediting, wikification, and general scrutiny from knowledgeable, experienced editors. Quran (belief and consideration)

In wikipedia article regarding Quran, there is a sentence that says: "...which Muslims consider the verbatim word of God...". The issue is no Muslim only "considers" the Quran to be the verbatim word of God, rather Muslims "consider and believe" (which is the closest interpretation of Arabic word ايمان/عقيده) it to be the verbatim word of God. And this is also supported by the definitions of the two terms, consider and belief. so the sentence should be changed to "...which Muslims consider and believe to be the verbatim word of God..." please refer to the definitions of the two terms. The word consider implies that the quran is "thought/regarded/treated as opinion" to be the verbatim word of God, and this thought may or may not represent the firm belief that is required and is the basic criterion for one to be a Muslim, on the other hand the word "belief" represents the notion of a strong psychological state in which the proposition or premise is held true, which in this case is the belief for Quran being the verbatim word of God. You should bring this up on Talk:Quran, where other editors of the article can see it. In my opinion, consider is actually a stronger word than believe, as believe implies a lack of certainty, while consider basically means "think, substantially"...but it's editors at Talk:Quran who will ultimately make the decision. Can someone tell me what this is about please?

The article itself is just a one line definition. Now someone seems to want to add some sort of numerology, counting the incidence of Q and of Quran. Honor killing article unbalanced?

I was quite annoyed in the past that the Gender apartheid article was unbalanced to point of being an attack on the Muslim religion, especially since there already was a long article on Sex segregation in Islam. I got some really nasty harassment from a series of sock puppets over more than a month for removing excessive material and including more balanced material. I see much of the same problem at Honor killing where excessive material could be cut and more added about other ethnic and religious groups where this has happened.

I've discussed this at the Feminist Wikiproject since feminists don't like to see these type of articles possibly hijacked for other POV purposes. I've added one thing and will add another when get a chance. But I'm not as likely to try to cut as much excess material in that article. So if people interested in this topic think there is just too much POV pushing in the article - including ala [this article which explicitly does so - they might go to NPOV Noticeboard or otherwise edit and/or comment on the talk page. If you mean Template:Islamic Theology, certainly, but it might be best if you ensured that the articles added are among the most important for that broad subject. We could, I suppose, have separate templates for Shi'ite, Sunni, Ahmadiyya, and other branches of Islam, if such are warranted. What exactly were you thinking of adding? Yes, I meant this Template:Islamic Theology. I am from Turkey and am interested in and knowledgeable about Said Nursi who is a kind of contemporary Muslim scholar lived in Turkey between 1870s-1960 and his tafsir Risale-i Nur which is translated into 50 different languages and is read world wide. I am trying to give the people to have the opportunity to get a brief information about him and his works through Wikipedia. Urine Therapy, Camel Urine, Islam and Islamic Law

Since you people are Muslims, there is some confusion regarding whether or not Islam permits the use of camel urine to drink. I know that under Islam its considered an intoxicant but under Islamic law its considered for some weird reason allowed (sometimes not allowed as well from a different Sharia). Miracle of 19 in Quranic Initialed Suras:

See the edits of DukhanSmoke (talk · contribs). The Sura articles, or at least some of them, need improving so they are mainly based on what reliable sources say about the Suras rather than just quoting them, but I'm not convinced this is an improvement. Templates image deleted, needs replacement

A few weeks ago I left a message at Template talk:WikiProject Islam#Missing image file, pointing out that the image used in that template to indicate the Shi'a Islam task force has been deleted, causing the display of a small, red File:Panjetan.jpg to be displayed in its place on all talk pages using that full template. Since the request for a change to that protected template received no responses, an admin suggested posting a query here. Subsequently, I also realized that Template:Shia Islam, used for an infobox on relevant pages, formerly used the same image; the reference has since been deleted, leaving no image in the side-bars. It's a strong POV fork of Barelvi and Ahmad Raza Khan with no redeeming WP value. I would also keep an eye on the contribs of the original author, since there's a high likelihood that one who writes such things may drift towards becoming a POV-pushing SPA. Top-priority articles?

The Lindsay Jones Encyclopedia of Religion, and its earlier edition edited by Mircea Eliade, has been counted as the standard reference work in the field of religion. I have gotten together a list of the articles, all of them of some substantial length and most if not all with individual reference sections, at User:John Carter/Religion articles. I believe that the default idea of a "Top" priority article is an article that any encyclopedia should have. Considering this encyclopedia is allegedly the best in the religion field, I think it makes sense to include the articles they have as "Top" priority. Also, considering most if not all of those articles are directly relevant, in some way, to "religion" as a whole, I believe it would make sense to tag at least those articles with the "WikiProject Religion" banner as well, with top priority assessment. Hello there. I wanted to bring the above article to this project's attention. It was created a few days ago and was introduced in a fairly poor state. I removed a lot of content which was a) unencyclopaedic in style, and b) unsourced/sourced to blogspot (which is not considered reliable). Since then the author has repeatedly re-inserted the information and ignored all attempts to communicate. Since the article is under the scope of this project I wanted to get the opinion of some editors here, and some help at the article itself as I don't want to run over WP:3RR. Need Qu'ran verse citation for WP Equine

Hi, hoping someone here can help me with a verse about horses claimed to be from the Qu'ran. I've seen multiple English variants, usually claimed as myths, but basically it is about Allah creating the horse from the wind (which direction varies with who is telling the tale, and sometimes all four winds are included) and saying he will give it "flight without wings" or "to fly without wings." This quote is used and misused across many, many articles about the Arabian horse, and I would be delighted beyond words if anyone can verify 1) whether such a statement even is in the Qu'ran, and if so, where; and 2) if it is, what IS the most accurate English translation? or if not, is it some sort of legitimate Islamic tale or mythical story and is there a verifiable source for this? There is now a proposed general Manual of Style for Religion and other articles relating to ethoses or belief systems at Wikipedia:WikiProject Religion/Manual of style. Any input would be welcome. I personally believe at least one of the reasons why many articles in this field have been as contentious as they have been is because of lack of such guidelines, and would very much welcome any input from others to help come up with some generally acceptable solutions to some of these problems. A new editor did what appears to be translation work into this language at Islamic art and Ramadan, adding his text to the English article, perhaps just while working - [5]. Needless to say it was all reverted & he seems to have been scared off. I'd be very grateful if someone could identify the language, & ideally assess the quality of the translation & see if it was added at the appropriate equivalent articles. Ahmadiyya

I am relatively new to Wikipedia and trying to learn all of the etiquettes etc...I have tried to address the Bias in the Ahmadiyya page but unfortunately I believe that people motivated by bias are seeking to keep a fringe opinion as the main opinion on the article. For a minor edit that I had tried to make i.e to change the statement to "self identify" I have met with a wall of rejection by two prolific wiki-contributers. One is Ahmadiyya Peaceworld111 himself and whilst a respected wikipedia contributor has a vested interest in not maintaining the balance of the page. The other simply reverted every change that I had made. I questioning the selective referencing used in the opening line of the page. One quotation is from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community which whilst biased I am happy to accept. The other is from an author who spent time with the Ahmadiyya community in England. I raised the issue that throughout his book he had cited that Muslim opinion was that the Ahmadiyya were not Muslim and therefore to quote his singular statement whilst ignoring his own referencing of the fact mainstream Islam consider the Ahmadiyya to be none Muslim is biased. http://books.google.co.uk/books/about/Islam_and_the_Ahmadiyya_Jama%CA%BBat.html?id=Q78O1mjX2tMC. I sought to resolve this issue by adding the statement that they self identify as an Islamic Reformist movement or alternatively to find an alternative opening quotation. All were met with firm refusals and a denial of any bias. Either way a fringe theory should not start an article as its prime quotation. I am not sure that we have a fringe issue here, so much as a conflict between two religious opinions. I would have thought that the view that Ahmadiyaa are not Muslim is significant enough to be mentioned. Maybe not in the lead, but in a separate section. I wasnt particularly pushing an opinion that they are not Muslim the title of the section is misleading. I was simply trying to raise the issue that it was their self identification that categorises them as Muslim as generally Muslims reject their beliefs as heretical. The reason I feel that it is a fringe issue is because the work cited as evidence of the Ahmadiyyah being an Islamic reformist movement is a fringe opinion and therefore should be correctly categorised as self identification by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. I'm not sure this is the best place for this discussion, which seems to be a NPOV issue. But to see this discussion in full see WP:Talk:Ahmadiyya#Suggestion for Removal of Islamic from the title. Steeringly does not want the article to say that this is an Islamic movement. We've had a number of IP editors removing Islamic from the description, or adding 'non' so it says non-Islamic, even to the extent of changing the title of a book. Now I understand that most of Islam does not consider this group to be Islamic, but that's not the way Wikipedia works when describing religions. Wikipedia cannot decide that people who consider themselves to be Islamic or not Islamic. We represent the relgion's viewpoint and we can then present the opinions of those who disagree. This is not just a self-identity, but a disputed one. Thus calling Ahmadiyya an "Islamic reform movement", with no attribution clause and no second opinion, suggests that we have taken sides in a dispute. For a similar example, we have plenty of historical figures that have self identified as "prophet of God", a religious claim, but we don't usually repeat such claims without qualification. Thats factually incorrect Dougweller if you follow the discussion we had identified the right to self identify. Initially I felt the opinion you expressed but after discussion it became evident that I needed to examine the issue further. I did and observed bias and thought it appropriate to point it out. So what is the outcome of this? Should it be changed to religious reformist movement? I believe it's time to stop the militant protection of a page which should be allowed to be changed legitimately. I recently ran across mention of the "first mosque built" for a given location, so thought it would be interesting to have a list of when/where the first mosque was built for various countries: List of first mosques by country. It's been relatively easy to find citations thus far (although in some cases I have trouble finding an extant Wikipedia article on a given mosque). Possible goals for 2013

This is probably more than a bit presumptuous on my part, but I have started a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Religion#Goals for 2013? asking what if any sort of goals we might be able to reasonably set for the next year, in wikipedia and other WF sites as well. I figured the wikipedia probably gets more attention, which is why I started the discussion there. But I would be very interested in seeing any input regarding what the editors here think might be the areas here most in need or meriting additional attention. Maybe, and at this point it is just a maybe, maybe we might be able to get some input on such topics if we have some idea what it is we really need to work on. Possible "Core" Islam articles, and perhaps some important articles to focus on, maybe of "Top" importance?

Over at the Christianity WikiProject, there has been for some time a "Core topics" list within the project of the 100 or so most important articles to that topic. Given the number of variant trends and traditions within Islam, I think it might be useful to develop such a "core list" here as well, if the others here thought that would be helpful. I tend to think that the articles relating to Islam in the recent, highly-regarded "Encyclopedia of Religion" are probably among the most important articles relating to Islam, given that those articles are among those included in what is generally regarded as one of the better, more comprehensive sources on the broader topic of "religion". The listing of the articles to be found in that source which it indicates relate to Islam can be found at User:John Carter/Religion articles#Islam. Also, I have recently gone through the rather highly regarded reference work "Islam A to Z" and found the following substantial articles in that source:

I will be the first to acknowledge that there are almost certainly significant variant spellings in the titles of the articles in that book, and that some of those articles have titles which are rather broader than would be allowed here. The article "Education" there would probably be Education in Islam or something similar here. But, if someone wanted to go through the list and check for variant spellings and alternative titles for the above, I think it might be reasonable that many of the articles included in the EoR might be "Core" to Islam, and many of the others in the "Islam A to Z" of the "Top" importance to Islam and the other related WikiProjects and work groups. The Christianity project rightly does not tag medieval rulers or dynasties who happened to be Christian, & I'm not sure Project Islam should either. Take those out, and the things going to disam pages or general articles (Coffee, Children etc), and the redlinks that aren't really, & I'm not sure how much useful information is left here. "Islamic Views of XYZ" requested moves

A user wanted to do what appeared to me to be not an obviously uncontroversial move/rename. I directed them to WP:RM. They have now filed several move requests for renaming "Islamic Views of XYZ" articles. That's all very good. But beyond my misgivings about the first one, which focused more on issues of which article is properly the Primary Topic for his desired article name, I know very little about the article naming conventions of Islam articles. So I figured I would give an alert/heads-up here so that those who *do* have such knowledge can jump into the RM debates, on one side or the other. Debates that I can find include:

  1. Talk:Islamic views on Abraham
  2. Talk:Islamic view of Noah - the one that originally brought me into the middle of all this.
  3. Talk:Islamic view of Moses

Uthman al-Asghar and Uthman al-Akbar

These two stubs seem to be identical, each claiming to be a son of Ali ibn Abi Talib, which redirects to Ali. His only son listed as "Uthman" is Uthman ibn Ali. Could someone from this project have a look and sort them out? I'm just a passing stub-sorter. Thanks. PamD 14:13, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

A couple editors seem to be finagling on how to delete the article entirely. Now there may be unnecessary duplication with some ongoing major persecutions that belong in Persecution of Muslims and some more minor incidents there that could be moved over, but that's different than wholesale deletion. Please...the part of of the blue referenced test where Muhammed contemplated and then sought to help with women's rights is maybe under the context of a 12th century Arab...maybe understood..but in the context of reality..then and now...the Quaran is very oppressive of women...unless you like complete veils, the husband can easily divorce you without due process, stoned for an impropriety, etc.

Proposed New Article: Female Labor Force Participation in Muslim Countries

I propose to write an article providing a variety of statistics on female participation in the formal economic system of predominately Muslim countries. Some of the indicators that would be included in the article are: female labor force participation rate, female employment rate subdivided into full and part-time employment, unemployment rate, employment by sector and age, duration of employment, types of jobs women hold, advancement opportunities (how many women hold executive jobs in the nation's biggest companies), and wage disparity with men. These indicators would provide a somewhat comprehensive but accessible look into the economic life of women in Muslim countries. This topic is clearly relevant to Islam as it discusses the aggregate role women in playing in one of the most important social institutions in their respective Muslim nations. This article will flush out more information on the economic contribution women make to and the economic opportunities may have/are taking advantage of in Muslim majority nations. Cross-comparisons across nation and Islamic sect would be a valuable use of this proposed article's information. An article on the presence of women in the labor force of Muslim nations would provide interesting data for users interested in the development of Muslim women within predominately Muslim societies. It has also received little attention, from what I can tell, on Wikipedia. Centralizing this data in one article would enable users to glean an important overview of women's role in the formal economy of several Muslim nations. The nations I propose to present in this article are: Egypt, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Tunisia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. These nations were chosen because they are all majority-Muslim nations (50%+), are prominent and, mostly, populous Muslim nations, and provide at least some regional representation of the Muslim world. Data on these nations, for the most part, is plentiful as compared with other Muslim nations. Some of the sources of information I have found are the World Bank Group, the International Labor Organization, UNESCAP, SESRIC, and a few articles on development from various journals such as the International Journal of Sociology of the Family. Is this a topic that should be included in the Wikiproject: Economics? What other details should be included in the article? What other sources of information should I cite?

Sourcing on Quran and violence

Hi all, the article Quran and violence has a line that's referenced poorly, but I'm a bit out of my league on this topic. The claim is under the "Abrogation" header and states "The earlier suras were revealed to Muhammad in Mecca; the later suras were revealed while he was in Medina" while being referenced to a fairly anti-Islam book. Revising the Purdah Article

I would like to revise the Wikipedia page on Purdah. Currently, the page needs improvement: the article is flagged for needing “additional citations for verification”. It is very short, lacking in in detail, credible sources, and citations. Right now the definition of purdah relies on an Eurocentric Greco-Roman historian’s description. The tone of the article lacks credibility. Its assertions are overly simplistic and makes claims with bare-boned citation. The article does not address the historical, religious, or cultural origins, or the influence of class, nationality, economic shifts, Islamization of the state, or women’s personal choices-- all sub-topics I plan to add to the article. Currently the article is poorly organized. In addition, the article uses a biased, Western-centric point of view. In all, this page is currently biased, unsystematic, unorganized, and lacks in research.

Purdah is a very important topic that warrants a well-written article. The purdah has wide-ranging ramifications for millions of women around the world. Purdah takes forms in women’s dress, behavior and institutional rights in terms of access to resources and mobility. Given the multitude of perspectives (sociological, human rights, economic, political, historical, religious, gender rights, etc) a neutral and comprehensive exploration of this topic is very much needed to present an unbiased picture for this tradition. I hope to improve upon it by increasing the thoroughness in research, comprehensiveness in content and analysis, clear organization, neutral tone of voice, number of citations from credible sources (academic articles from journals on Asian history, women's studies, sociology, anthropology, etc), inclusion of appropriate pictures, and the degree to which it is imbedded within the Wikipedia universe by linking to other relevant pages.

I'd love to hear any suggestions and comments you might have!

Critique on the Article - ISSUES with Facts in the Article : Muqatta'at

I am new to this but here it goes. I just read explanation of Muqatta'at on wikipedia. I found following issues:

Wordings Used in the Article: Such as the sentence used in the second paragraph: "Other names include the broken, dis-joined, initial, or isolated letters of the Qur'an". Issue: The above sentence used in the description is very misleading and doesnt make any sense. Please make sure that you are getting it right. If English is not your first language, please use help to explain what you mean by broken.

Similar Issues - Wording Used: First Paragraph - Under 'Modern research' Heading: "Arabs once used such letters in their poetry, it was only appropriate for the Qur'an to use that same style." Issue: Quran doesnt take advise from cultures that existed or will exist. Arabic was given to mankind so that Quran will be given in a language that people can understand. We cant make assumptions like these about concepts of Islam unless we can get evidence from Hadith or Quran itself.

Information about Muqatta'at in the Article (named 'Muqatta'at) is Using too Many Assumptions: The meaning of these letters (in the beginning of the these Surahs) are not known because Allah kept it from mankind on purpose. Most scholars are divided about the reason/s for why we are not given the meanings of these letters. Beyond that since we know for sure that Allah on purpose kept the meaning from us, therefore, there is no point in getting confused about what they may mean. Article uses a lot of maybe scenarios. Please do not use assumptions when you are describing Islamic concepts which are then read my millions of people.

It is also said by the author that Companions of Prophet Muhammad (May Allah's blessings be on him and his ayal) didn't ask any questions about these letters. Did the Author go through all the Hadiths to make such conclusion? Explanation about these words is very clear, that is mankind is not given their meaning on purpose and its Allah's decision.

Please state Hadiths or Ayats whenever you make statements about Islam; this way we can be sure that the author/s are stating facts and not fiction.

List of encyclopedic articles

I have started a new subpage at Wikipedia:WikiProject Islam/Encyclopedic articles, listing articles contained in what are I think fairly generally available reasonably high quality reference works related to Islam, and, where appropriate, the relative length of the article, which might serve as an indicator of its relative importance in the eyes of those who prepared the book. I do think that having such information readily available will possibly not only make it easier to determine some factors like weight and "fringeiness", but also maybe make it easier for newer editors who are interested in a topic but don't know much about it to perhaps be able to find something that they can help develop. Having said that, I don't know the language very well, and I would appreciate it if anyone more familiar with the topic might help review to see if there are any typos, maybe create redirects, and suchlike. I am still going through additional reference works on all religions, and will probably be adding similar lists from those works as I complete them. John Carter (talk) 16:44, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

I also created the Masjid As-Salafi mosque (in the UK) page a while back as well, since it was on the "most wanted" Wikipedia page listing (Wikipedia:Most wanted articles). Maybe someone affiliated with this project knows some more about it and can help improve that page as well?

Suhoor and breakfast

In the article history of breakfast, suhoor is mentioned. In Islam, is Suhoor considered breakfast, a replacement of breakfast during Ramadan, or completely unrelated to breakfast? Ryan Vesey 16:08, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

I just want to say that the picture you have in the article Siyyid Kazim seems to be one from the Bab, and please, remove it if you aren't sure it is from Siyyid Kazim. We all know wikipedia wants to have verifiable content, have Wikipedia verify that picture? We really don't want Baha'is seeing Bab's picture when they want to learn more about Siyyid Kazim's life, (is enough avoiding searching for the Bab in Wikipedia to don't see the picture). Arabic numbers are written LTR(left to right), most significant digits are on the left, however Veyselic Numbers are arabic numbers written from right to left, RTL, like number ten is 01 (or in arabic .1). Islam and Freemasonry

I suggest editors with a good background in the history of Islam in relation to groups like Freemasonry keep an eye on the Freemasonry article, particularly the section on "Islam and Freemasonry," which up to now consisted solely of totally unreliable primary sources, original research, and questionable claims being used to forward a blatant anti-Muslim bias, e.g. correlating opposition to Freemasonry in Muslim countries with anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism. I have removed most of the offending material, none of which was sourced properly (mostly either unsourced or using primary self-published sources and one newspaper article having nothing to do with Freemasonry and Islam), but as I was reverted once for attempting to clean up that section, it could end up becoming a contentious issue, particularly if other editors are insisting on anti-Muslim POV pushing. And you assume the editors are at fault for the nature of the information that was locatable? That material has been there, with sources, for years. If someone can find something else, great, but you didn't do that, and you ended up adding a lot of weasel words and totally changed the paragraph's viewpoint, all without citing sources yourself. So given the choice of sources that you think are questionable vs. no sources at all, I shall err to the side of the former. MSJapan (talk) 20:46, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
The underlying issue is how to accurately summarize what Muslim Anti-Masons (who have a biased viewpoint) say about Freemasonry... without slipping into a counter-bias. concern about editor removing Islamic content

The latest example of User:Adjwilley removing Islamic content is this where he moves it down. Previous examples include [6], [7]. This editor obviously feels strongly about religion as is evident by this being his main topic of editing. The fact that this editor does not edit with the same standards towards christianity tells me that this editor may have a bias against Islam. For example he removes Muhammad from the prophet page lead, but doesn't remove Jesus from the Messiah lead - isn't that fishy? He also edits political articles which are somewhat related to Islam. Another editor created Category:Jamia Arabia islamia Nagpur, which appears to be copied in part from Jamia Islamia Bhatkal. If the article is a hoax, it should be deleted and the creator warned or blocked. If it is not a hoax, then it will need to be moved to article space and cleaned up. Popular pages tool update

As of January, the popular pages tool has moved from the Toolserver to Wikimedia Tool Labs. The code has changed significantly from the Toolserver version, but users should notice few differences. Please take a moment to look over your project's list for any anomalies, such as pages that you expect to see that are missing or pages that seem to have more views than expected. Note that unlike other tools, this tool aggregates all views from redirects, which means it will typically have higher numbers. (For January 2014 specifically, 35 hours of data is missing from the WMF data, which was approximated from other dates. For most articles, this should yield a more accurate number. However, a few articles, like ones featured on the Main Page, may be off).

Web tools, to replace the ones at tools:~alexz/pop, will become available over the next few weeks at toollabs:popularpages. All of the historical data (back to July 2009 for some projects) has been copied over. The tool to view historical data is currently partially available (assessment data and a few projects may not be available at the moment). The tool to add new projects to the bot's list is also available now (editing the configuration of current projects coming soon). Unlike the previous tool, all changes will be effective immediately. OAuth is used to authenticate users, allowing only regular users to make changes to prevent abuse. A visible history of configuration additions and changes is coming soon. Once tools become fully available, their toolserver versions will redirect to Labs.

Article in urgent need of attention

Hi. I was doing a CSD patrol and came across Baba Fakruddin which had been tagged for CSD A-7. I removed the tags as the subject of the article is purportedly an Islamic saint, which would normally be pretty notable. I also tagged it for no references. But on closer examination I noticed that it used to be a more substantive article but it was redacted down to a single sentence and had all of its sources deleted by a new editor who claims they were unreliable. I suspect that the article was indeed under-referenced but the mass redaction looks like overkill to me. In any case perhaps one or more editors here might wish to have a look and see if they can fix it. As of right now it is one sentence with no sources. If the editor had more experience I would be inclined to call this disruptive editing but I think it was probably just over enthusiasm.

Update This looks like a case of very aggressive editing by an agenda driven account. It's been dealt with on an Admin level, but the article does need some work. -Ad Orientem (talk) 22:23, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

Undiscussed page moves

Omar Choudhry (talk · contribs) has quickly made a number of undiscussed page moves with the edit summary "maybe it might be a more accurate transliteration maybe)" The first one I looked at was Muqatta'at to Muqattwa 'Aat despite the fact that English language sources for the former vastly outnumber his choice. I'm guessing the rest are just as bad and in any case undiscussed and should be moved back. He's been warned about this before. Anyone want to help? Dougweller (talk) 15:33, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

User:Dougweller, I do. The user is very sincere and well meaning, but this happened a few months ago and it took a looong time to reverse. He was warned then and seemed to understand why moving the pages without discussion was problematic, as well as the fact that most of his moves were not to common spellings. Issues with an article created by this editor- Jarir ibn Abdullah Al Bajali

What's the situation with all the Arabic in this article? A lot was added by an IP[9] who also added a statement about some of the quotations may not be exact. It's Choudhry who added the bit about a biased source. DGG, a very experienced editor, commented about the Arabic[10] basically saying it is good to include Arabic translations of names to help in searching, but also commented " Unfortunately, some of the Arabic here does not seem to be names but standard religious phrases, and those need to be translated. People familiar with a non-English tradition often use such phrases only in the original even in English writing (o even use only their standard non-english abbreviations) This is not helpful to those outside the tradition. . This I cannot fix; it is up to the contributor to do this or someone else who knows the language." The addition of صلى الله عليه وسل is of course against MOS:ISLAM but I don't know what else doesn't belong. Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 06:03, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

Genuine or falsehood?

This article here -- Sayyad Zahid Ali Shah Qadri -- is problematic. The quality of the written English is very poor, but we shouldn't disqualify the article solely on those grounds. On the other hand, the article seems to make some very grandiose claims -- for instance, it claims that Sayyad was a direct descendant of the Prophet, and/or of Ali, and there's something about Ratnagiri and "56 position of saint" , and then a photograph of the Kaaba. But the only proof given is a single page on Facebook, which we all know is not a reliable source for historic data. I tried Google, but was unable to find anything pertinent -- but that could be an issue of transliteration into English.

Two articles on the Middle East/Islamic world and LGBT attitudes

Hi! I found some articles by Georg Klauda on LGBT attitudes and the Islamic world. They talk about how anti-LGBT attitudes were not always the norm (previously Europe was homophobic and Europeans went to the Middle East and had homosexual experiences there), but that the anti-LGBT attitudes came to the Middle East when "gays/homosexuals" were made into an identity group.

Also if anyone edits on the Arabic Wikipedia, these articles need to be posted to the appropriate articles there, with text used from these sources translated into Arabic within the citations (to show what was cited) WhisperToMe (talk) 14:48, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

Sura articles

The articles on individual suras are in deplorable shape. If we are lucky they consist of a poorly referenced dump of hadith texts. Most contained text dumps of the actual Quranic text, often with copyrighted translations.

Is nobody here watching these articles? You would imagine that articles on the actual text of the Quran would have comparatively high priority within the Islam articles? Might I ask people watching Islam articles in general to gently impress on new, and especially the more zealous, editors that Wikipedia is not a dumping ground for primary texts? We have Wikisource for this, We have public domain translations of the Quran at wikisource:Qur'an, which can and should be linked to, and if somebody finds the text of another PD translation, they are welcome to add it to Wikisource, NOT to Wikipedia. --dab (𒁳) 12:16, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Al-kitaab, etc.

Someone just created Al-Kitaab series about a series of Arabic language instruction books for English speakers (which I have myself seen in stores). I went to see if there were other pages that would require disambiguation from this in some form, and found that

  • AL-kitab redirects to Islamic holy books
  • Alkitab redirects to Bible
  • There are pages (or redirects) whose titles start with "Al-Kitāb" or "Al-Kitab". I don't know if they would be listed on a disambiguation page, as I don't know whether anyone refers to them as just "al-kita[a]b".
  • There are many variations as to how anyone seeking information on any of these subjects might enter this: upper- or lower-case K; "a", "aa", or "ā"; with or without a hyphen.

I came across this article, Allama_Gohorpuri_Rahimahullah which is apparently on a Islamic scholar -- it needs quite a bit of cleanup, improving of references, etc. As I'm unfamiliar with the WikiProject, I wasn't sure if just adding the {{WikiProject Islam}} tag would be sufficient, or if not, what else I should do to bring it to your attention. Help welcomed at Hasan al-Askari

Hi, I'm involved in a content dispute on this article. There are a small group of editors who seem intent on adding a large amount of text to this article, a large amount of it in Arabic, which to my eyes looks completely out of context. I don't understand why they keep adding this material and I'm trying to get them to explain to both myself and readers why this is content is important. They keep saying things like "reference" and "foreign language source", all of which is fair enough, except for the fact the presence of this text appears completely misplaced and not presented as sources.

As you might have guessed, I also think there's language barrier issues here. Their replies aren't making a lot of sense as far as determining the context and value for myself. I'm sure they think the content they're adding has value, but I'm having trouble determining what that value is and why it need to be presented in the format they're insisting on. Request for input in discussion forum

Given the closely linked subjects of the various religion, mythology, and philosophy groups, it seems to me that we might benefit from having some sort of regular topical discussion forum to discuss the relevant content. I have put together the beginnings of an outline for such discussion at Wikipedia:WikiProject Religion/2011 meeting, and would very much appreciate the input of any interested editors. I am thinking that it might run over two months, the first of which would be to bring forward and discuss the current state of the content, and the second for perhaps some more focused discussion on what, if any, specific efforts might be taken in the near future. Birmangham Quran manuscript on the main page

I nominated Birmingham Quran manuscript for becoming a featured picture and it was successfully promoted. Furthermore, I sought to know whether and how it appears on the main page and I received a good response:"Yes, it will [appear on the main page]. Generally there is an 18 month delay, but something like this could (and probably will) be scheduled for date relevance earlier. Eid al-Adha will be in late September, and that would be a decent date to run this. Not because of the verses shown, but because of the Quran's importance in Islam." Based on the recommendation of John Carter, I am happy to announce that WikiProject X has selected this project as part of a round of pilot testing.

The goal of WikiProject X is to improve the WikiProject experience through research, design, and experimentation. On that basis, we've prepared a new WikiProject design template based around modules. These modules include features you are already familiar with, such as article alerts, but also new features such as automated work lists, a feed of discussions taking place on the 6,005 talk pages tagged by WikiProject Islam, and a new member profile system. To see what this new setup looks like, you can browse the first round of pilot tests: WikiProject Cannabis, WikiProject Evolutionary biology, WikiProject Ghana, WikiProject Hampshire, WikiProject Women's Health.

I wanted to bring attention to History of Islam, which has been undergoing a wholesale rewrite by a single editor who has made some odd editorial decisions, such as Islamic history ending at World War I. The best way to proceed would be to consult some of the recent reference works relating to Islam and see how they structure the material regarding the history of Islam. I think the recent Encyclopedia of Religion probably has at least a substantial amount of reasonable content related to the topic, and that and other similar sources can possibly be gotten by editors active at WP:RX at request. "Islamization of" vs. "Islamism in"

I propose standardizing across the English Wikipedia in article titles that "Islamization of" be reserved for the initial conversion of a society to Islam and "Islamism in" be reserved for recent convergences of Islam and politics in various parts of the world. For instance, Islamization of Palestine would retain its name, but Islamization of the Gaza Strip would be moved to Islamism in the Gaza Strip. This distinction is already broadly in place, as can be witnessed by Googling Islamism in and Islamization of. 0nlyth3truth (talk) 03:49, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

One comment I will make as a follow up to my response to Debresser is that it violates NPOV to assume that what Hamas has done to Gaza is in fact an imposition of "more" Islam. For many Muslims, maintaining at least a measure of social pluralism is an important part of their religious outlook. You could easily say that Gaza was already 100%-ε Muslim before Hamas arrived and Hamas has done nothing to make it "more" Muslim. Using this logic to keep the term "Islamization" affirms a specific narrative, that Hamas has been busy making Gaza more Muslim, rather than maintaining the many perspectives that exist, a very important one which is that Hamas hasn't made Gaza more Muslim, which casts serious doubts on the use of "Islamization." Perhaps it would be useful to forge the word "Islamismization" and construct an analogy with it: Islam:Islamism::Islamization:Islamismization. Long hadith quotes

I tried to remove a very long section of verbatim quoted hadith from an article, but I was reverted. I'm pretty sure this is not appropriate content, per WP:QUOTEFARM and WP:NOTQUOTE, and it is a clear abuse of WP:PRIMARY, but honestly, I am not in the mood to personally pursue this, also considering that the user who reverted me has personal grudges. While on the subject of articles in dispute, it would also be appreciated if we could have more eyes on Apostasy in Islam. I have tried to act as an NPOV third party on this and the "Jizya" article, but I lack the credentials to be of any use (unless I start by taking Islam 101). Siyyid Kazim picture

I just want to say that the picture you have in the article Siyyid Kazim seems to be one from the Bab, and please, remove it if you aren't sure it is from Siyyid Kazim. We all know wikipedia wants to have verifiable content, have Wikipedia verify that picture? We really don't want Baha'is seeing Bab's picture when they want to learn more about Siyyid Kazim's life, (is enough avoiding searching for the Bab in Wikipedia to don't see the picture). As an individual I ask Wikipedia to give me information I can trust on.

Arabic original of Live like Ali, die like Hussein?

I've seen this phrase used in English amongst Shia (and made a small stub mentioning in), but I'm having trouble finding how it's originally phrased/spelled in Arabic. Any ideas? Need help to expand the article on hijab and link it to headscarf and nuns and why some nuns wear it and if for the same reasons

I've been trying to create links. But e.g. in the article about nuns, scarf is only mentioned once. I put it between 2 double square brackets. But I don't have time to expand or look up studies on why nuns and in general e.g. catholic women living 1910-1980 would wear scarfs - mainly to protect them from the elements and because hot water had to be made on a wood or coal-stove, which was not so convenient, etc. I also tried to make some links in the article on headscarf. Still a lot of work needs to be done, but I'm sure the research documents are available. Frustrating apparently still so few scolars / professors require their students to document their dissertations' findings in the wikipedia. Covering the hair (more or less, but not the face) was normal for married women in most areas of Europe until the Renaissance, at least outdoors and in formal settings, and nuns' traditional costumes just reflect this. NPOV issues in Hanafi, Maliki and Shafi'i

The articles Hanafi, Maliki and Shafi'i all have a "Views" section with similar subsections: Apostasy, Blasphemy, Stoning, etc. WP:BALASPS states: "An article should not give undue weight to any aspects of the subject but should strive to treat each aspect with a weight appropriate to the weight of that aspect in the body of reliable sources on the subject." I have consulted the corresponding articles in Brill's Encyclopedia of Islam 2nd ed and the Hanafi article in Encyclopedia Iranica (which doesn't cover the other two). They're longer than the articles we have here, but none of them devote space to any these topics, with the exception of the EI2 article on Malikism, which mentions Maliki views on zandaqa in a paragraph on "Malikism and schismatics". In fact, with this and a couple of other exceptions, none of them discuss views on specific questions. The sources cited for these views here are generally reliable, but, in the few cases I spot-checked and was able to verify (some have failed verification), these views don't appear there as part of a general discussion of the madhhab, but rather are mentioned in passing as part of discussions focused on other topics. The decision to discuss views on specific topics in these articles, and particularly the choice of these topics -- among the thousands of possible topics that one finds in a comprehensive source like the Kuwait Encyclopedia of Fiqh [14] -- is reminiscent of their prominence in current anti-Islam polemics, but it certainly doesn't reflect any RSs on the subject of the articles that I'm aware of. This seems to be a clear violation of WP:NPOV.

Here's my proposal for addressing this problem. The only views on specific topics that we should discuss in these articles are the views that are presented as distinctive or significant in RSs on the subject (i.e., a source containing a general discussion of the madhhab not just a random googled passage that says "Hanafis hold...", etc). The material that we currently have in the "Views" section should be verified and moved to articles devoted to the relevant topic (Apostasy in Islam, Blasphemy in Islam, etc). If there's no appropriate article for some passage, it should be deleted.

Also, I question the accuracy of these views, given that they were added to the figh articles as well other Islam-related articles by a single user named RLoutfy, whose editing record is questionable (see contributions). Need a review of unsourced, suspicious material removed from Aliyah article

Hi. I just removed some material from Aliyah (an article describing the concept of Jewish immigration to present-day Israel). See Talk:Aliyah#Dubious etymology material removed.

The material in question offers several theories asserting that Islamic traditions support a link between Aliyah and the prophet Elijah. No sources were cited, and I am strongly inclined not to believe it — indeed, the overall tone of the material strikes me as the work of a troll — but since I am severely uninformed regarding Islamic tradition, I thought it advisable to ask experts in that field to comment. If some people could go read the stuff in the above-cited talk page section, indicate whether it has any factual basis whatsoever, and (if it is in fact legitimate) come up with some reliable sources to cite so that the material can be returned to the text, I would be most grateful.

I recognize the possibility that some Muslim readers might find the material in question to be irreverent at best, or offensive at worst, but please understand that I mean no offence here — I am just trying to get some idea of whether this text has any real foundation, or if it is simply the babblings of an idiot. @Richwales: I think you've done the right thing. Said material was added by an anonymous IP address and although one should always assume good faith, I tend to be more cautious when it comes to unregistered users. It really looked like "the babblings of an idiot." For one, that so-called link between Ali (علي, ‘Ali) and Elijah (إلياس, ’Ilyas) is linguistically incorrect, considering the different letters used in Arabic. - HyperGaruda (talk) 19:42, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
@HyperGaruda: Not surprisingly, the same phonetic distinction in the initial consonants exists in Hebrew as well. Thanks for confirming my suspicions that this was total silliness. WikiProject Muhammad

I've no expertise in this area but I was looking at some red-linked categories and found a bunch for WP:WikiProject Muhammad using {{WikiProject Muhammad}}. Looking further there's also a Portal:Muhammad which was created by the same user, User:Islam90 just over a year ago. It seems to have been a solo effort without any discussion, and I thought I ought to bring it to the attention of you guys. Looking at Category:WikiProject Muhammad articles there's only 7 articles been tagged, so it's the sort of thing that could easily be reversed if you decided it wasn't a direction you want to go in. Surahs by number

There is a full set of redirects from "Sura" + number (All pages with titles beginning with Sura ) but only a partial set using the spelling Surah (All pages with titles beginning with Surah ).

As Surah is now the main spelling used in Wikipedia, I suggest that the full set of redirects should be created, and added into Category:Surahs by number. Use this format so that they sort numerically:

Neutral eyes needed at Concubinage

The Concubinage article briefly mentioned Nikah mut‘ah, but there is also something in Sunni Islam called Nikah Misyar, so I mentioned it also. But I don't know a thing about it. Can someone please make a thoughtful, neutral comparison of what is different and similar among these three things? @Hexushade: Hi. Since you're new here, I'd recommend you read Wikipedia's policies and guidelines before offering suggestions. For example, no one owns articles so Muslims have no claim to articles about Islamic subjects. Also, Wikipedia has to be verifiable but that does not mean adherence to theology. Wikipedia is secular in nature and based on what we call reliable sources. You'll find this is the case across all subjects including other religions, politics, science, etc. Assuming you are a Muslim I warn you that the purity of message that you might value will not be found here. i think there is a mistake on the Lut page

A picture with a table on the Lut page shows that Lot left the city with his wife when she was left behind also making pictures of Prophets is I think forbidden in Islam so i ask you to remove it.   4. The Outreach Department . " SPECIALIST'S " help . a centralized workarea for project recruitment and member interaction efforts.

  1. we can give article to the Expert Wikipedians in Islamic issues / well known  specialist or Authority for " pree review ".

I came across this article via CAT:NN -- it's been tagged Notability since 2008. Could someone have a look and make a determination if (a) the tag should be removed, or (2) the article should be redirected or proposed for deletion? K.e.coffman (talk) 21:43, 6 August 2016 (UTC)

Since all the references are primary sources, notability requirements aren't met. One could nominate it for deletion, through it's hardly among the worse cases of misusing primary sources in articles on early Islam. Eperoton (talk) 21:56, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
