Article for improvement

I suggest that we start selecting an article for improvement. While considering our previous discussion, I think we should not limit ourselves to vital articles. An 'article for improvement' could be selected from all articles within the scope of WP:NL. I think the criteria for selection should be:

  1. two or more users are willing to collaborate on the article
  2. the article is likely to be improved considerably

I would like to hear your thoughts on this. – Editør (talk) 09:49, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

I agree that we start such a collaboration, we might need to peek at other Wikiprojects to see how they approach it and what format would work best (fixed time frame/target quality). I do agree we should not necessarily limit ourselves to the vital articles, but it is probably desirable to pick articles that are highly relevant and have a relative high amount of page views. CRwikiCA talk 14:39, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Perhaps we could collaborate on Netherlands at the 2014 Winter Olympics? – Editør (talk) 11:08, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
It seems like a good article to start with yes. The following manual of style might be of interest Wikipedia:WikiProject_Olympics/Manual_of_Style_(Games_summary_–_Nations). CRwikiCA talk 14:35, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

We could collaborate on this article: Dutch municipal elections, 2014. – Editør (talk) 11:16, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

That would be a good candidate indeed. CRwikiCA talk 13:35, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
Maybe we should differentiate between articles about current/recent events within the scope of this project, which are a specific category, and all other articles within the scope of the project. – Editør (talk) 20:04, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
I understand your point, do you suggest to improve current events collaboratively? CRwikiCA talk 20:21, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
That could be a task of this project, alongside a periodically selected article for improvement. – Editør (talk) 09:27, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
It seems like a good idea, with the notion that the current events are not targeted for GA/FA per se, but are meant to keep information about The Netherlands up-to-date. CRwikiCA talk 13:14, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
I've attempted a description about the AfI and current/recent events. – Editør (talk) 15:36, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

Nominations

I think the provinces are easiest to improve, so we might want to start with those. CRwikiCA talk 18:51, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
I suggest we select the article Drenthe as the Article for Improvement in April. – Editør (talk) 23:37, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
Okay, let's do it. CRwikiCA talk 23:40, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
We could notify some previous contributors of the article and active members of this project to this month's Article for Improvement. – Editør (talk) 08:58, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
It would be good to get some additional people on this as well yes and start with notifying the members on the list. CRwikiCA talk 13:43, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
I've notified the members that were listed in 2013 or 2014. – Editør (talk) 10:49, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Nominations for May 2014

Let's nominate articles for next month's Article for Improvement. – Editør (talk) 16:14, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

We might want to choose one of the three left from the previous list. CRwikiCA talk 19:05, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
To make this collaboration work, we need more people that are actively involved. – Editør (talk) 15:52, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
I agree, I unfortunately am limited with time, but I will try to add where I can. Having a couple more editors would be helpful. Rottumeroog seems a good candidate indeed. CRwikiCA talk 18:44, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
I suggest we select Rottumeroog as this month's article. Do you think the goal is feasible? – Editør (talk) 01:31, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
The goal is quite ambitious and might only be feasible if we get some more collaborators in. CRwikiCA talk 13:23, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
I have notified the other projects (Frisia, Islands, Protected areas). – Editør (talk) 14:17, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
I've also posted links to some useful (Dutch language) documents on the article's talk page. – Editør (talk) 21:05, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Leaflet For Wikiproject Netherlands At Wikimania 2014

Hi all,

My name is Adi Khajuria and I am helping out with Wikimania 2014 in London.

One of our initiatives is to create leaflets to increase the discoverability of various wikimedia projects, and showcase the breadth of activity within wikimedia. Any kind of project can have a physical paper leaflet designed - for free - as a tool to help recruit new contributors. These leaflets will be printed at Wikimania 2014, and the designs can be re-used in the future at other events and locations.

This is particularly aimed at highlighting less discoverable but successful projects, e.g:

• Active Wikiprojects: Wikiproject Medicine, WikiProject Video Games, Wikiproject Film

• Tech projects/Tools, which may be looking for either users or developers.

• Less known major projects: Wikinews, Wikidata, Wikivoyage, etc.

• Wiki Loves Parliaments, Wiki Loves Monuments, Wiki Loves ____

• Wikimedia thematic organisations, Wikiwomen’s Collaborative, The Signpost

For more information or to sign up for one for your project, go to:

Vital article nominations

Delta Works and Zuiderzee Works, or Flood control

Request for reassessment

Requesting reassessment of Transport in the Netherlands, which I have substantially rewritten and expanded in the last month. Thanks in advance. --84.106.90.249 (talk) 09:23, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Looks good, however, going from C to B is a rather big deal. As it is now I have serious problems with the sections:
"Merchant marine" -- No sources / no readable prose. This needs expansion. (or alternative needs to be removed altogether). Also unclear whether this includes river trade a major Dutch transport sectors.
"Pipelines" -- Again no source and no prose. Either expand. The dense gas pipelines to almost every home is interesting e.g. Alternatively remove.
"Government" again no sources. Additionally, this is not completely true as provincial wegen are under provices and local street under municipality. So this sections needs considerable expansion.
"Economics" somewhat cryptic. Is this about truck transport or also about train goods transport, shipping and air cargo? Or does it also include the economics of passengers traffic. This needs serious expansion and clarification.
With these sections this problematic I am afraid I cannot yet promote to B level. Arnoutf (talk) 11:25, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick and thorough response. Would the new pages Road transport in the Netherlands and Roads in the Netherlands fall within the scope of WikiProject Netherlands ? --84.106.90.249 (talk) 11:51, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
They would. But honestly looking at them I would have probably rated those C as well, in particular because sourcing in large sections is not ok. (See here for an idea what articles have to have for each level Wikipedia:WikiProject_Netherlands/Assessment) Arnoutf (talk) 12:14, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
So you've decided not to include them, because they're not at least B class  ? --84.106.90.249 (talk) 12:27, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
Just not did it immediately - added them now. By the way feel free to tag relevant articles yourself/become member of project Netherlands. It is probably a good idea to make a username in that case as IP addresses are not very stable. Arnoutf (talk) 12:35, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Miss Nederland

Miss Nederland says that Reshma Roopram was Miss Nederland in 2001, but the new article Irena Pantelic says that Ms. Pantelic was, and seems to have sources. Can someone who speaks the language please figure out which claim is correct? --Cerebellum (talk) 22:20, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

To make life complicated, there are 2 miss Nederlands. One goes to the (international) miss universe pageant (Reshma Roopram) the other to the miss world pageant (Irena Pantelic). The Miss Nederland page lists miss world nominees only back to 2005 hence ms Pantelic is missing in that list. If someone wants to fix it, please go ahead. Arnoutf (talk) 08:43, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Pleas add information about this country to this articles.--Kaiyr (talk) 04:21, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Today 1 September was the birthday of Willem Frederik Hermans, and on this date the Start Class article Beyond Sleep (Nooit meer slapen) has been expanded with sourced material only, so that now there is very little unsourced material in the article.MackyBeth (talk) 17:59, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Suggest to improve Utrecht. Currently B class; target GA. Most texts appear more or less complete but sourcing lacks in places. Also some more high quality pictures could help. Arnoutf (talk) 17:35, 12 October 2014 (UTC)

All previous nominations were geography-related articles, so I would prefer something different for the next article for improvement. – Editør (talk) 18:19, 21 October 2014 (UTC)

Which is the correct spelling???

Guusje Van Mourik or Guus van Mourik which is the correct spelling for this Dutch female? Dwanyewest (talk) 05:23, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

For Wikipedia, considering the sources, I would go for Guusje although that is may not be the name in her passport. (Guusje is the diminutive of Guus in Dutch; which is sometimes added to chilrden' s names (and it may stick after that), also to feminize an ambivalent name like Guus). Hi all. On Marietje Schaake, an MEP, her political assistant has been editing the article. I'm not sure it's all for the better. Regards, Sander1453 (talk) 06:53, 10 January 2015 (UTC)

I've placed maintenance banners at the top of the article and a notification about two connected contributors on the article's talk page. – Editør (talk) 09:47, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
And taking into account all its issues, I've assessed the article as Start class. – Editør (talk) 10:03, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

WikiProject X is live!

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

Beste lezers,

Earthquakes

I noticed that there isn't a general article about earthquakes in the Netherlands. The only related earthquake article is 1992 Roermond earthquake. A broader article could also cover the earthquakes that are occurring in Groningen since the 1980s, whose magnitudes (up to 3.6) might not merit individual articles but are interesting enough as a phenomenon collectively. – Editør (talk) 11:23, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Language topic under Dutch whaling is over the top: Fering

"Dutch culture and language were also exported by whalers from abroad who hired on Dutch vessels. E.g. the North Frisian dialect Fering adopted a number of popular Dutch and West Frisian personal name forms,[18] and many loanwords from the Dutch language to Fering are still in use today. It has been observed that apart from Afrikaans, no other language outside the Netherlands proper has been influenced as much by the Dutch language as the North Frisian insular dialects." I really cannot see a role for this linguistic stub in the context of Whaling in the Netherlands. Without an additional argument, it should be left out. A statement may be true, but is it relevant? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.87.242.222 (talk) 05:28, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

Help finding sources?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone had heard of the Joris Jofel series. It looks like it was released in the US under the title of Leo Leggins (Leo Leggins book series), but I found sources that makes it look like it was originally a Dutch series. I'll see what I can find, but I anticipate a pretty large language barrier here. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 08:41, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

A new copy-paste detection bot is now in general use on English Wikipedia. Come check it out at the EranBot reporting page. This bot utilizes the Turnitin software (ithenticate), unlike User:CorenSearchBot that relies on a web search API from Yahoo. It checks individual edits rather than just new articles. Please take 15 seconds to visit the EranBot reporting page and check a few of the flagged concerns. Comments welcome regarding potential improvements. These likely copyright violations can be searched by WikiProject categories. Use "control-f" to jump to your area of interest (if such a copyvio is present).--Lucas559 (talk) 15:58, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

Rotterdam relationship to a Zevenhuizen help needed

In the Government of Rotterdam article is an ambiguous link to a "Zevenhuizen"; this is one of the longest-lasting dablinks in Wikipedia; it's in a problem category of dablinks Category:Articles with links needing disambiguation from June 2011. In the article:"* 1978 won and lost territory to the municipality Capelle aan den IJssel and territory from the municipality of Zevenhuizen[disambiguation needed]"

I see on the Zevenhuizen dab page there is a hamlet Zevenhuizen, Kaag en Braassem in South Holland and also there is a village Zevenhuizen, Zuidplas in South Holland, but neither of these seem to be adjacent to Rotterdam. Elsewhere in the world sometimes a city annexes non-adjacent property of a faraway water reservoir or of other key service to the city, so the Zevenhuizen meant could be one of these, perhaps? Any help would be appreciated, alsjeblieft. :) --doncram 12:42, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

Aah, the joy of merging and renaming municipalities. This is about Zevenhuizen-Moerkapelle (which is the 1991 merger of Zevenhuizen with Moerkapelle). Without Dutch Wikipedia and some Googling in Dutch I would not have found it either. I will fix it on the Rotterdam page. Arnoutf (talk) 15:36, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi Xx236, I think it means Zuid AFrika (the Dutch name for South Africa). I do not know this abbreviation. Imho it can be replaced by something else, for instance the codes from ISO 3166-2, which would lead to ZA. Ellywa (talk) 15:47, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

Can someone have a look at this article? In my opinion it should be either rewritten entirely or deleted. As it stands now, it is a list of misinformation - the last thing we want in Wikipedia. About half of the dates are wrong in this article, many of the other dates are badly chosen. See my comments on Talk:Timeline of Maastricht. Kleon3 (talk) 08:55, 26 October 2015 (UTC)

Good article nominations

The article 2016 Amstel Gold Race has been a good article nominee since 19 April 2016, and the article Daniel Sprong since 2 May 2016. You can review them according to the good article criteria. See their talk pages for a link to start the review. – Editør (talk) 10:27, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

Continuation article for improvement

Hey all! I stumbled across the page Zaate Herremenie, which has been an orphan for 7 years (sad story, right?). The article claims that Zaate Herremenie is a carnival in Maastricht, however the ref and the external link are both dead links. A Google search brought up this eccentric-looking page but I have no idea what it says. Can anyone verify that this carnival does exist, and maybe even find a reference for it. You win an extra prize if you can even de-orphan it, but any help is much appreciated. Thanks and happy editing! Ajpolino (talk) 05:39, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

As far as I can actually read it, it seems to be a band or a type of band: nl:Dweilorkest. Hopefully someone from Limburg will be able to read the website and be able to tell us for certain. Jarkeld (talk) 06:02, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Notice to participants at this page about adminship

Many participants here create a lot of content, have to evaluate whether or not a subject is notable, decide if content complies with BLP policy, and much more. Well, these are just some of the considerations at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship.

So, please consider taking a look at and watchlisting this page:

You could be very helpful in evaluating potential candidates, and maybe even finding out if you would be a suitable RfA candidate.

Many thanks and best wishes,

Monique de Vries - editing help!

I'm running an editathon with the aim of trying to raise the profile of Women that have had an impact on Antarctic Research. A Dutch politician who has had an impact on the Netherland Antarctic program by the name of Monique de Vries was nominated and I made a page about her but it was not accepted:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Monique_de_Vries

I was hoping that the Netherlands project might help me improve it a little or give me some guidance. I've tried Google translate, but it doesn't seem to work all that well for the information I need.

Any advice most welcome. I'm new to Wikipedia editing and am just learning. Janstrugnell (talk) 07:27, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

The 10,000 Challenge

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge ‎ has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. If anybody here would like to contribute to a European one or would rather contribute to a sub one specifically for Netherlands like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Netherlands) based on Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic), sign your name under the section for Netherlands and I'll start it if there is enough support. For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Dutch and European content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Dutch and European nations, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:28, 26 October 2016 (UTC)

Greetings WikiProject Netherlands/Archive 4 Members!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about a technical proposal to revive your Popular Pages list in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

If the above proposal gets in the Top 10 based on the votes, there is a high likelihood of this bot being restored so your project will again see monthly updates of popular pages.

Further, there are over 260 proposals in all to review and vote for, across many aspects of wikis.

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Reliability of GossipGay?

Hello everyone! During the GAN review for the article Gagged (Violet Chachki EP), the reviewer advised me to verify the reliability and appropriateness of the following source that was cited in the article: (http://gossipgay.nl/interview-with-violet-chachki/). The website "gossipgay.nl" has not been discussed on here previously. I cited this source as it was an interview with primary subject of the article (Violet Chachki). I primarily used the source for Chachki's responses about questions relating the EP and album. I was wondering if someone could verify whether or not this source is reliable or not. I completely understand if it is not deemed appropriate for use on Wikipedia (as the reviewer pointed out the website does not show an editorial board, nor do they explain their journalism policy). I am posting my message on this WikProject as the site in question is a News/Media Website from the Netherlands, and I was encouraged to ask users familiar with the Netherlands about its reputation by a discussion on WP:RSN. I have added the part of the interview being cited in my article below:

If required, I could substitute this source with others that contain the same or very similar information. Thank you for any help! I am still relatively new to Wikipedia, so I greatly appreciate any feedback or support so that I can be better on here. Aoba47 (talk) 19:49, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

On the page Over ons (About us), the editors are not identified and call themselves simply "Team Gossipgay". They explain that their goal is to make the LGBT world more transparent by means of entertainment, information, and news. I have no reason to believe the interview is fake, so I don't think there would be a problem quoting from it. If you or others have doubts about the authenticity, then perhaps you should use a different source. – Editør (talk) 15:09, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
@Editør:Thank you for your response. I agree and believe that there is no reason to believe the interview is fake or misrepresented. I will relay your contribution to the RSN. Thank you again, I greatly appreciate your input. Aoba47 (talk) 17:24, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

Spelling conventions for the digraph IJ

Not sure where to report this, so I'm putting it here. To avoid continued edit warring, I'd like other editors' opinions on the issue of how to handle the capitalization of the digraph ij/IJ. One editor seems to think (discussion 1, discussion 2) that it should be capitalized as Ij instead of IJ, or that it somehow is an acronym instead of a digraph -- I don't even know. I reverted their edits and page moves, because as far as I know the convention is to capitalize it as IJ, but currently the discussions aren't really going anywhere and it's starting to look like an edit war and honestly I don't feel like spending any more time and energy trying to combat this. The main article in question is IJsbrand, but IJ (Amsterdam) and IJmuiden have also been affected. — Kleio (t · c) 01:07, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

The digraph ij should be capitalized as IJ: source 1 source 2 source 3. – Editør (talk) 19:16, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

Glass negatives by early photographer Jan Goedeljee now on Commons

Jan Goedeljee (1824-1905) was a Dutch photographer working in his hometown Leiden and its surroundings. Erfgoed Leiden en Omstreken, the Leiden municipal archive, holds a large collection of his glass negatives, which have been digitised and made available for re-use on Wikimedia Commons. The collection includes photos of many well-known places in Leiden, such as the Academy Building and the Hortus Botanicus, and of buildings that have since disappeared, such as the old post office, several city-gates and the old railway station. The upload was done by Erik Zachte, using Pattypan and a custom script for the conversion of the metadata. Access the collection here. Regards, --AWossink (talk) 13:26, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

New article Cannabis in the Netherlands needs work

We have a "Cannabis in..." article for I think around 89 countries now, so it was high time to add one for the Netherlands. It can probably be spruced up with some existing content from other articles, notifying the project here in case anyone wants to help improve it. Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 00:16, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

I've also created Cannabis in Suriname, which could use help from a Dutch speaker, and/or would be useful translated for Dutch Wikipedia. Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 06:53, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
I could particularly use help from Dutch speakers to find sources which verify the years in which cannabis became prohibited in the Netherlands, and in Suriname (and any other Dutch colonies) if anyone here would enjoy a historical scavenger-hunt! Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 06:32, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
There are enough nl.wiki articles to populate this category, but what would the correct category term be in Dutch for "cannabis edibles" or "cannabis foods" as a corollary category to Cannabis foods? Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 04:16, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Names of Dutch windmills

Copied from user talk:Yngvadottir
Hi, re your recent moves of articles about Dutch windmills; in Dutch, the mills do take the definite article as part of their name (De Kat, Het Pink etc). This is shown by their listing on such sites as the Molendatabase. Also over at WP:MILLS, we generally house article as title in the style (mill name, location) for named mills, or (location windmill) for unnamed mills. Mjroots (talk) 06:38, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

After I moved the two articles and made the changes to the template so that they would show in black on their own pages, I noticed that. But that's not how it's done on the Dutch Wikipedia—I checked both before moving them, in case there was such a convention, or a need for the placename for disambiguation—and we don't add/retain the foreign-language definite article for other classes of objects that I know of, except where it's enclitic (as it is in Ouddeelsmolen, for example). It seems like a romantic convention, but if it isn't even being followed by the Dutch, what justification is there for such complicated titles in an English-language general reference work? Yngvadottir (talk) 06:59, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
In many cases, disambiguation by place name will be needed (Witte Molen, Oude Molen etc), possibly not in the case of De Lytse Geal. I'm totally against translating the names of the mills at the article title as there will be virtually zero sources that do that. Thus De Grote Molen, Broeksterwoude instead of The Great Mill, Broeksterwoude. A look at nl:Lijst van windmolens in Friesland shows that the naming convention with the definite article is used at nl-wiki, but not always. Mjroots (talk) 09:47, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I agree (and not for example "The Elephant") unless by chance windmill scholars writing in English know one of the mills by an English name. It's possible that usage differs regionally in the Netherlands; I only happened to be looking at what linked to Huizum and to find two mills in the same Frisian location. It's also possible that it has changed. Please talk about it at WP:MILLS if you haven't already; I won't make further trouble, but I did not self-revert because I cannot see adequate justification. Yngvadottir (talk) 15:53, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Throwing this out for wider discussion. This concerns the move of De Lytse Geast, Tytsjerk to Lytse Geast and the move of De Himriksmole, Tytsjerk to Himriksmole. WP:MILLS does not have many members, and there are likely to be many Dutch members here. Are Dutch windmill article better housed at the the style (mill name, location) where the mill has a name, or would they be better at just (mill name) with no indication as to whether the mill is a windmill or something else? My preference is for the former. Mjroots (talk) 19:56, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

As long as the place name is not needed for disambiguation then it may even be a good idea to leave it out of the article name. Many drainage mills are way out into the countryside, located far from the village they belong to and may even be closer to other places, so adding the place name may cause confusion. In these specific cases, Lytse Geast is the name of the nearby hamlet, Tytsjerk is about 6 km away so stating it is "in" Tytsjerk is a bit of a stretch. The mill is most commonly called "Ouddeelsmolen" so I suggest moving it to that name. The Himriksmole windmill itself has been moved twice and the municipal boundary has moved as well. It is now located in and owned by the municipally Leeuwarden though situated closer to Tytsjerk. It should now be called Himriksmûne according the local variant of frisian but someone many years ago stuck a sign on the mill spelling Himriksmole and it has entered the windmill databases under that name so I think its better to stick to that or use the dutch name 'Hemriksmolen'. Beware that many windmills in the Netherlands do not have official or fixed names so they may be contentious and tend to change over time. Reboelje (talk) 15:58, 11 February 2017 (UTC)

Description of two maps

I am trying to find appropriate maps during the period of Mataram Sultanate, an Indonesian monarchy which was closely related to the Dutch East India Company in 17th and 18th century. I suspect these two maps are relevant: [1] [2]. Those maps have descriptions in Dutch, which I unfortunately don't read. I tried to use Google translate, but didn't seem to work - probably because of misspelling or shorthand spelling. May I know what the descriptions of those two maps say?
