Incomplete article & grammar question[edit]

The last information about that product's history is, that in 1988 it was decided to rename it – but was a new name ever decided on (which?) and in which year was its selling discontinued?

And were there never any discussions about its (maybe non-)safety etc.?

And a grammar question: Is there a good reason for 'socialite(s)' here being treated similar to fish & sheep twice (talking about several people, not only one person, but being denied a plural marking "-s" – are they officially 'uncountable', or did the writer just get grammar rules mixed up and did as one would do with genitive marking "-'s" (only adding it to the last person's name, not one or several more mentioned directly before)?

--> Native English speakers (which I am not), please do what I don't dare, if those two "-s" really SHOULD be there.
