Edit reversion on "The Americans"

Hi,

I changed Jennings' to Jenningses because Jenningses is the proper plural form of Jennings. That's the only reason.

Thanks.

Hi, 32.215.197.23 - I see what you meant to do. No worries; I think that the original formatting was correct however. But I appreciate the message and for letting me know about the edit. Cheers! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:57, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Google Chrome user who tried to edit due to having the John Oliver extension

Sorry about the edit that was caused by the Google Chrome extension from Last Week Tonight With John Oliver that I downloaded earlier today. Bailey House Museum

Aloha, I'm attempting to make updates to the Bailey House Museum page because The Maui Historical Society is changing the official name of the museum to Hale Hoike'ike. Change to Minnesota Timberwolves page

Under the individual awards sections there is a slot for slam dunk contest winners, I removed the entry about Gerald Green winning it in 2007 because although he did win it that year it was not with the Minnesota Timberwolves it was with the Boston Celtics, I noticed a message saying that my deletion had been undone and that entry was put back in place, just wanted to inform you that it was incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.129.55.192 (talkcontribs) 04:09, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

Deletion - Chris Layland

Hi! I suggested the speedy deletion for Christian Layland under WP:N that you removed, on the basis of a Google News search shows a single news source referring to the subject in the context of the article's main claim to notability (a football podcast), and no News or Scholar archive results. Further, the majority of the external links (thefootballsack.com) are from the website of the article's subject. I still think it fails the WP:N criteria, but I'm not sure whether to nominate for deletion under the AfD process, or whether a suggestion that it be merged with an article about said blog - any advice for a new editor? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiredgrad (talkcontribs) 04:34, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Tiredgrad! You're actually in luck! I just explained Wikipedia's speedy deletion guidelines over on PaulAshford's talk page. Hello I'm new and I wish to make a wiki page about myself. Is that possible? Everest.Andrew (talk) 04:10, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi Everest.Andrew, thanks for leaving me a message with your question. Is it technically possible? Yes. Your account is not going to prevent you from doing so (so long as it's autoconfirmed). Is it okay to do? No. You should read Wikipedia's guidelines on conflict of interest. Editing articles where you have a conflict of interest is highly discouraged behavior. It doesn't allow you to edit in a neutral point of view. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:57, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

Deletion

Hi Oswah,

I've recently made some changes to Garage Magazine's page – while explaining and using citations of any changes that I have made – and you have deleted them all, reverting the page back to its original state. Please may I ask why? If I have made any mistakes I will be more than happy to explain.

(Most information and imagery on the page was out of date, quite considerably. I was trying to bring the page back into relevance.)

Hey. I made the page and paraphrased it myself so the page hasn't been deleted. But there are parts of my page that say 'citation needed' and 'where?'. Fuck Me Pumps edit

I am not a very experienced Wikipedia editor, but what I edited on the Fuck Me Pumps page was from http://www.ew.com/article/2007/11/10/frank that review from Entertainment Weekly. If you would please add the quote (the last in the review) to the article and cite it, that would be excellent. 75.97.50.254 (talk) 03:18, 3 March 2016 (UTC)David Fathom

Hi, 75.97.50.254 - I reverted your edit to Fuck Me Pumps because it didn't appear to be representing a neutral point of view. If it was from a source, then just make sure that you include the source and make sure to quote the source so that it doesn't appear to be commentary, but quoted from a source. Please let me know if you need anything else! Cheers! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:18, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

How to speedy delete an article you're the author of

Thanks for deleting the article I marked with a db|1=author tag. What is the correct process? This page was not very helpful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chursaner (talkcontribs) 04:00, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Chursaner! Again, I welcome you to Wikipedia with open arms and an open talk page. You're more than welcome to message me here at any time with any questions or requests for help. I fixed the page that you linked; it looks like someone removed the text from the essay and it was never fixed. I'll look into it more and figure out why that happened. You were actually very close! you had put {{db|1=author}} on the top of the page you created; it just needed to be {{db-author}} instead. So you were on the right track! I apologize if the essay you provided was confusing, but it should be fixed now :-). Please do not hesitate to leave me a message if you have any more questions or if you need more help. I'll be happy to give you a hand! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:11, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
Thanks! That was me that deleted the text.. I read somewhere that making the page blank was one way to get a speedy deletion — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chursaner (talkcontribs) 16:12, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
Yes, you are correct in that blanking the article or page you created yourself will prompt another editor to tag the article for G7. However, it's usually better if you add the tag yourself (if possible), as it will save other editors time. No worries, though! You're new, and being bold is what Wikipedia is all about! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 16:15, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello, I need your help with a user

Hello, I have been reviewing a user's contributions, and I have noticed that they have been changing or adding unnecessary racial and religious identities to people within the articles. The user is anonymous, and has made numerous changes. The user's IP is 74.95.112.141. If it is not too much trouble, would you review the contributions? HowlingAngel (talk) 05:27, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, HowlingAngel! Sure can! Are there any specific articles or diffs that I should know about? This will point me in the right direction. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:40, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
Yes. Since the user has changed so many, if you do find the changes to be unnecessary, you may want to review the user's contributions page. However, I'll provide some of the articles here.
Timeline of nursing history , History of surgery , Donald Soffer , Daniel Hale Williams
I reverted the edit on Daniel Hale Williams. If it was not a correct action, please undo it. I hope this helps, and thanks for helping me! HowlingAngel (talk) 05:52, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
I think your reversion was correct, as the picture clearly isn't of an African-American person. It could have been an honest mistake though; remember to assume good faith. Were there other examples that you reverted? This IP has made a lot of contributions; it'll be hard to go through every single one. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:25, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
There are some other examples. On the page Timeline of nursing history there seems to be some changes that are not exactly reliable. The problem, however, is the user made multiple changes to the article in separate sequences, making it hard to tell what information should be reviewed. Some of the information looks as if it's unsourced, while parts of the timeline have been removed, or events changed. HowlingAngel (talk) 06:31, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Me, Myself and I by G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha

You recently removed an edit I made to "Me, myself and I" song in the background section. My edit was made based of this interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=on8F2OXGfJw Bebe Rexha gave for a radio and the source was linked to that paragraph. So before removing stuff , check the sources before. You thought was biased, well you could have opened the video of the interview and heard the exact thing in words said by the writer of the song, it was just a transcript. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.69.5.52 (talk) 09:44, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Sorry!

Sorry about my edit. I wanted to say that the citations for the info you removed on the Timothy Parker page is the same FiveThirtyEight.com article. I don't know how to cite that because I'm a noob, but I think it is important information for the page. Xmaster8621 (talk) 15:07, 5 March 2016 (UTC)Xmaster8621

Hi, Xmaster8621! No apologies needed. It appears that the information added was the same by two different users (or the same user while logged out) - each without citing any sources. There was also issues regarding Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, which was why I removed the content. All in all, it's a content dispute that needs to be discussed on the article's talk page by everyone involved. There's been too much reverting, and too little (well none) discussion happening, which is why I filed a report and will leave it to another pair of eyes to investigate and step in. If you have any questions or concerns, my talk page is always open. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:12, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Dear Wikipedia Members,

I am writing to you today to inform you that my ex-husband Carl-Edward von Bismarck's wikipedia site has been tampered with and manipulated. I have tried to correct the basic errors of my name and marriage history. Unfortunately, someone has been meddling with it and using the wikipedia site for personal vendettas and defamation of character. I would like to state my true corrections in this email once more. I will correct such one more time now. If it will be tampered with again, i will hold whoever is responsible in a court of law. It is my right to have my name spelled correctly. It is my right to have my marriage history recorded and as the mother of my children.

My ex-husband last year has hacked into my Facebook account. He has changed my name, my profile picture, took off all my life contacts and has connected with my friends on Facebook impersonating me. I have reached out to Facebook and discovered through them that the new domain holder for such doing was my ex-husband's email. Facebook has given me the option to bring him on criminal charges. I have decided to let it rest and not bring him on criminal charges, i fixed my Facebook account and started a new one.

However, if these actions continue one more time on Wikipedia I will have no choice but to bring on charges whoever is tampering with it. I apologize in advance for approaching you with such an unfortunate subject and i ask you please to make sure history is recorded correctly.

Here are my changes:

1) My legal name today: Countess Nathalie von Bismarck Bariman 2) My name before marriage: Nathalie Bariman (and not Boriman as was tampered with) 3) I was married to Carl-Edward von Bismarck from 2004 to 2014. 4) We have two children together: Count Alexei von Bismarck 9 years old, Countess Grace von Bismarck 7 years old.

Again, i thank you for taking the time with the hope that you can help me put this disturbing matter to rest. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any further questions you may have.

All the best, Countess Nathalie von Bismarck Bariman. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Khaoz529k (talkcontribs) 16:05, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Taoism article

Hi Oshwah,

In response to your message: I made several different edits, and it seems all of them have been reversed. I took the time to provide detailed explanations for each of those edits (found in the article history), but all of them have been reversed without any individual responses given. Saying that a variety of different edits do not adhere to a neutral point of view is not very clear. This is especially important considering that none of the edits I made actually added any text to the article. Further, one of the edits was correcting an entirely objective mistake - the misplacement of the Tao Te Ching image in the I Ching section instead of the Tao Te Ching section. By undoing my edits, that image has now been returned to the incorrect location; it is difficult for me to see how this is a point-of-view issue.

As such, could you examine the reasons I gave for each edit and explain why you feel each of them do not adhere to a neutral point of view? Sunkencathedral (talk) 17:09, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Sunkencathedral and thank you for your message. I took a look at your previous edit; I thought that you added some content that didn't appear neutral, but I just realized that you simply moved it. I went ahead and restored the page back to the state that it was in with your edits applied. Please accept my apologies for the confusion. If you need anything else, please let me know. Thanks again for leaving me a message regarding your concerns. I very much appreciate it, and I wish you happy editing! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 17:15, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
Wow, thank you very much for returning the article, and for your prompt reply! I was very confused about why they had been removed; but it was just an honest mistake, it's no problem at all. Thanks again, and happy editing! Sunkencathedral (talk) 17:18, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Hey

Hi, F4d3d123 - That is an excellent question! Wikipedia's help page with Contributing to Wikipedia is a great place to start if you're looking for somewhere to start diving in and helping out with, but aren't sure where yet. You can also browse Wikipedia's page on WikiProjects; it will let you search for projects that interest you, so you can start getting involved and helping with the articles or content that they're currently working on. Please feel free to message me again if you need more ideas, but these two places should surely set you in the correct direction. Welcome to Wikipedia! Question about edit reverted

Hi Oshwah, I am currently at an edit-a-thon at UIUC. OOKbook is a participant and I was showing this new user Talk page protocol -- making sure the comment pings the user, proper signature, etc. Is it preferred that a response to a Talk page comment go on that user's Talk page instead? Vaparedes (talk) 19:23, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Vaparedes! Thanks for letting me know! I reverted your changes to OOKbook's talk page because you modified a comment that OOKbook made, which is typically not allowed and will be reverted (since other editors won't know about your involvement in the Wikipedia Meetup). However, since your objective was simply to give the user an in-person tutorial over talk pages, I personally don't see any problem with it. It would be a better idea to show this person a tutorial by either adding a new message to his/her talk page, or editing a talk page message that you left. This way, it won't result in reversions or confusion by other editors that are patrolling. If you have any more questions, or if you need any help, please do not hesitate to respond and ask. I'll be more than happy to lend you a hand! Good luck at the Meetup! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:29, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Information on 71.179.21.197

Hello Oshwah! I was suspicious of 71.179.21.197, and so looked up his IP. The result is here: http://whatismyipaddress.com/ip/71.179.21.197 This indicates that the user is based in Ellicott City, MD. I then looked up Timothy Parker, and found this: http://www.whitepages.com/name/Timothy-E-Parker-Jr./Ellicott-City-MD/i7zf4j1, which is very likely the Timothy Parker from this article, as it shares the age, city, and middle initial of the Tim Parker in the article. Since the White Pages link provided the address, I looked to see exactly how close the IP was to his address. Quite close, imo: http://www.latlong.net/convert-address-to-lat-long.html

I don't know if any of this is helpful in making any decisions, but it does seem very likely that Tim Parker used both a registered account to edit his own page, and then used an unregistered one when he was caught.

help with Lenka Clayton page

I started a draft for Lenka Clayton today, Mar 5, the same day as another page on her was started, which you flagged. Anyway to get my draft moved to article and the other flagged page deleted? Or at least to get the info combined and improved? thank you Lu.heintz (talk) 21:31, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi Lu.heintz, and thanks for leaving me a message with your questions. I see two pages right now: One is Lenka Clayton, which will be deleted because the creator copied text straight from external sources (which is a big violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy). The other is your draft. As soon as the "non-drafted" article is deleted, your draft can replace the previous article in its place (once it has been reviewed and accepted). For now, you just need to sit tight; someone will resolve the matters and your article will be reviewed. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers! -- ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:53, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

I see that you already templated this IP user. Could you please keep an eye on their contribs? They're making multiple non-useful edits that create work for others. They have multiple recent warnings, including level 4 and 4+. They're been templated for not (make that never) leaving edit summaries or using the preview function, yet still continue to edit doing neither. Multiple attempts to talk to them on their talk page have been ignored. Some edits are helpful, many aren't. There is WP:CIR issue here. Thanks - theWOLFchild 12:44, 6 March 2016 (UTC)

modification of 2002 National Football League (Ireland)

Hello Oshwah,

I received a message from you regarding an update I made to the page "2002 National Football League (Ireland)". In the message, you indicated that my changes were not accompanied by an edit summary.

The changes I made were in fact accompanied by an edit summary which explains the changes made.

Hello OSWAH, from Portugal,

my edit, which you reverted, consisted of removing a storyline which consisted of repeating the infobox in a text, in broken English and with ZERO refs. WP is all about references, is it not? I have been here for almost ten years, so I think I was operating within the guidelines there.

Maybe my summary was a bit over the top and that misled you? Could be, and for that I apologize to the community overall. Attentively, happy editing --84.90.219.128 (talk) 22:01, 6 March 2016 (UTC)

Graeme Bartlett - AWW, CRAP!!!! That was done by accident!! Sorry!!! I didn't mean to tag this article. Thanks for catching this :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:09, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
Also, a trout would have been completely acceptable in this situation ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:10, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
The article may have deserved a speedy delete, after waiting, but hopefully a blp prod will have the same outcome, either stimulate the writer to indicate notability, or it will get the chop. Numerous other SD taggers are getting in too fast too. There is a lot of over-enthusiasm around. I am trying out the different sized fish. I don't think it deserves a full sized trout! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:11, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
Graeme Bartlett - I completely agree; I usually wait at least 15 minutes after the article's creation before considering any claim of significance CSD tag. It's the right thing to do, as "racing to be the first person to CSD that article" is absolutely a BITE to newcomers, and it's not what CSD was meant for. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:23, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Recent revisions to the Henryk Fuchsbrunner article

Hey there, I got your message about the reversion of my revisions to the Henryk Tauber/Fuchsbrunner article. My goal with the edits was cleaning up the grammar, improving the clarity of the article and reducing redundancy. For one example, he's referred to by three different last names in the article - Tauber (his birth name), Fuchsbrunner (the name he was most often known by), and Fuchs (the changed spelling of his name once he immigrated to the U.S.). I just changed all of the references to Fuchsbrunner for clarity. The last paragraph I deleted contained all material that was either unverifiable or contained in earlier paragraphs already, and the rest of the edits were just to make the writing grammatically correct. Of course, it doesn't bother me if the reversion stands. 98.203.240.70 (talk) 07:16, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

On reverted comment at Talk:Clang

Hi Oshwah, you messaged me about removing my talkpage comment here.

Thank you for keeping Wikipedia talk space clean and moderated!

While we're at it, could you also clean up the whole Talk:Clang#Compatibility_with_C.2C_compile_Unice_Softwares.2C_and_use_of_Brand_Name section? I admit that my comment was not particularly constructive, but the section it addressed is well beyond any sane reason.

If not, then I wonder how exactly you discriminate one unconstructive comment from another (and delete one, but leave the other), because that doesn't seem like a neutral way of moderation.

Best wishes, anonymous — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.90.177.150 (talkcontribs)

Regarding The Asterisk War's premise I found on the Crunchyroll site, I found its premise to be more accurate (coming from what I watched of the show):

Invertia (meteor storm)… an unprecedented disaster that struck the world during the 20th century.

Because of this disaster, numerous cities around the world were destroyed. However, within the meteor, an unknown element called mana (the all-encompassing element), was discovered, which allowed human technology to make rapid strides.

This also gave rise to a new species of human born with unique skills – the Star Pulse Generation (Genestella).

The setting for the world’s greatest comprehensive battle spectacle, the Festas (Star Warrior Festivals), is an academy city above the water surrounded by six academies called Rikka also commonly known as Asterisk. Having transferred into Seidoukan Academy in order to fulfill his own wish, scholarship student Ayato Amagiri swears he too will fight in this city.

Burning souls race…

The curtain rises on this school battle spectacle! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.5.114.106 (talk) 12:58, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Libyan Investment Authority

Hello.

Thank you for taking an interest in Libyan Investment Authority. All edits made by me were in a good faith, not in favour of any party as they represent current, ongoing situation - leadership dispute between Abdulmagid Breish and Hassan Bouhadi. They both claim chairmanship and until Court ruling is available (which is supposed to be in two weeks time) this information should be available not to mislead readers.

The following articles (used as references) clearly represents this neutral point of view:

It doesn't matter. You're engaging in edit warring by continuously reverting content back-and-fourth with another user (See Wikipedia's three-revert rule). These policies exist in order to drive discussion. Edit warring can (and usually will) result in being blocked from editing. Please discuss the content dispute on the article's talk page with the other user. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 13:47, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Somebody trying to defaming on Public figure

Dear Oshwah,

Thank you so much for edit of Sujit Meher page. Someone keep trying to defame this public figure page. Always putting unnecessary data about this public profile. Please kindly take some action against those ip addresses. And i would request you to tell me the ip address of Vond1926 user who tried to defame the profile of the person so that we can take some action against it. Its a humble request. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Novelbuzz (talkcontribs) 14:02, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Novelbuzz. I'll keep an eye out for you regarding the article. And as far as revealing to you the IP Address of a Wikipedia Account? That absolutely will not happen. That is private data, and is not disclosed to other users. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 14:28, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

A note about Ostriches

Dear sir,

I am from Uzbekistan and know that it is generally considered an ill omen to eat ostrich, as some consider it black magic over there. Now, when I came to America, I noticed that ostrich is not only eaten in some restaurants, but eaten as a exquisite meat, such as restaurants swerving Ostrich burgers. Unsurprisingly, this was a strange and disorienting experience for me, but opened my eyes to the world around me as to how cultures appear different in other people's eyes. I find it confusing as to why you reverted this edit. I noted you said I needed a citation? I understand the need, I suppose, but as a person who has lived there for a good amount of his life, isn't a first person account a detailed enough response? It works well enough for stories of Junius Caesar, and I note he is present on this online center of information. I ask you to please allow this note to remain present on this page which I am quite found of. Thank you, and have a great day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spencertmiller (talkcontribs) 14:12, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Vandalism

Thanks for your contributions to vandal-fighting. You are doing a very good job. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 15:10, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, JamesBWatson! It's good to talk to you again! Thank you for taking the time to leave me a message, and for your kind words. I very much appreciate it. I've been vandal-fighting for 8+ years; it's something I enjoy doing, although it really skews my contribution namespace distribution percentages - edit tools show that I mostly edit article space and user talk space, but it's because I revert a lot of vandalism. So, of course, it's going to. Oh well; I like doing it. Someone's gotta do it ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:28, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
"Someone's gotta do it": absolutely. It's an area of Wikipedia work that doesn't always get the recognition that it deserves, but it is absolutely vital. Without it, Wikipedia would gradually become a useless load of junk that nobody would consult. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 15:32, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
JamesBWatson - Indeed! I absolutely agree. I'm still considering re-applying for RFA this year (although I'm not sure exactly when this year I should), so that I can be more useful with vandal-fighting and contributing to AIV (among other reasons, of course). I got slammed last time for no content creation (which I've definitely improved - hopefully enough to where it doesn't become an issue again). I just don't want to run again "too soon". I don't know; I'd just hate to fail a second time. :-P ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:45, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
In my opinion, the "can't be an admin because he/she hasn't created dozens of articles" gang are probably the single worst harmful thing in RfA, but they are sufficient in numbers to have a considerable impact. I almost declined the invitation to stand at RfA because I thought I would be shot right down by the "not enough content creation" gang, but as it turned out I was lucky: I got through with far less article creation in my history than many an RfA candidate who has been rejected for lack of article creation. I suppose to some extent it's the luck of the draw, depending on who comes along to the RfA. Anyway, you now have more article creation in your history than I had at the time of my RfA, so it shouldn't be a bar to success. Also, in my RfA I attempted to anticipate possible criticism for lack of article content by detailing contributions where I had substantially rewritten existing articles from scratch. I felt (and still feel) that doing so is just as much experience of content creation as any articles listed as created by me. If you are interested in seeing what I wrote, it is under the heading "Additional optional question from Peter". I don't know whether there's anything similar you could usefully say if you do go for another RfA. I don't think the lack of content creation argument should be a major consideration at present, and personally I would attach far more weight to some of the other reasons for opposing at your RfA, such as Dennis Brown's very thoughtful comments on various issues, particularly that most of your editing had taken place within three months (which is no longer true), and the criticisms of your original answer to question 9. I would say that the substantial majority of opposes were for reasons which either no longer apply, or apply to a much lesser extent than they did then.
You say "I'd just hate to fail a second time". I can well understand that. Do you know, even though I was accepted with over 90% support, I felt really stressed by the opposes: it's an intimidating experience, having a string of people one after another publicly posting heavy criticism of what they seeing as your weaknesses and faults, and indicating that they don't trust you to do a good job. And if I felt that in an RfA which succeeded, I can well imagine that it must be even more unpleasant to undergo an RfA which fails. However, please bear in mind the following two facts: (1) you got considerably more supports than opposes, and (2) for the sorts of reasons I have mentioned, you should stand a much better chance a second time. However, I suggest waiting at least until July, which will be a year after you became significantly active on Wikipedia, and it might be safer to wait at least until September, when a year has gone since your last try. I think once things are measured in units of years, even just one year, rather than months, the "too soon" feeling is likely to be much less.
Just one more thing. It may help your chances at a second RfA if you get more experience on the various Wikipedia-space pages that concern admin work. You have large numbers of good AIV reports (which is how I came to start this talk page section) but a much more limited amount of experience in other admin areas. I don't personally think that there is such a lack of relevant experience that it should count against you, but some editors may think it does. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 17:12, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
JamesBWatson - I really appreciate your in-depth response and your honest opinion. Thank you :-). I agree that waiting until at least July is a good idea. I was originally thinking about waiting until September (one year after my first RfA). By then, I should have another article brought up to GA status (I'm working with a small group of editors that want to knock out a few GA's as I do), and I'll have a solid editing history that everyone will want to see. I'll also consider getting involved in more admin areas, as you lightly suggested as well. Cool, in a nutshell: I'll keep doing what I'm doing and wait a few more months. Running for admin isn't anything I'm rushing at all; It's not that big of a deal to me. I'm and admin on test.wiki, so I know how everything works. It's really just a few more buttons, that's all. Would I make a good admin? I think that I would. Do I need / would I make good use of the tools? Oh yeah, you bet. I'd be much more useful with them. But I can certainly wait. Thanks again, JamesBWatson. Much, much appreciated! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 17:34, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
I think JBW is giving good advice, and I agree with you that September is best, a year after your first. I haven't looked at your stats today, so can't speak to them, but would just say that working on a few articles in a significant way is helpful. Not a GA, just taking something you know and improving it greatly, and doing that a few times. You can't please those that want you have to 100 articles created, but those are rare souls. Most of us just want examples showing you can create or recreate something worth reading. If you have the power to protect, delete or block, you have to know the core reason we are here; prose. A good place to do that is AFD, actually, just go patrolling until you see something that you can save because it was nominated too early. Those are excellent examples of leadership and what we like to see in candidates. Have a few hundred AFDs behind you, if you haven't already. AFD is an understaffed and under appreciated place full of opportunity for someone wanting to make a difference. NAC is ok but not impressive, saving articles and giving very good rationales (keep or delete) is. Do all that and there will plenty of people willing to nominate you, including myself and I would imagine JBW. Dennis Brown - 19:54, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
Dennis Brown - I apologize for taking so long to respond to you. I very much appreciate your input and analysis. I've helped bring an article to GA status and I've created articles since my last RFA. I will wait until September, keep doing what I'm doing, and.... we'll see :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 09:08, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

A possible misunderstanding?

I've just seen your answer to a request for help at User talk:2.126.55.14. It looks to me as though you may have missed the point of the question. If I understood it correctly, the question was about the possibility of creating an article on a new topic, which the IP editor compared to Godwin's law, but you appeared to take it as a question about creating an article about Godwin's law itself. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 17:22, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Vandal

IP 81.158.35.138 has a mess on his talk page of warnings and denied block requests. He is back, and is now typing bad words on his talk page. I don't know how to deal with him. In 6 months fighting vandals, I have never seen this and am requesting advice. Joel.Miles925 (talk) 18:04, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Joel.Miles925! Thanks for leaving me a message with your request for help. You're always welcome to ask me for input any time that you need it. So, I took a look at 81.158.35.138's talk page, and I removed the incivility left while the IP was blocked. The IP has vandalized since the block expired; I'd just continue as you normally do, and report the IP back to AIV if it continues, so a longer block can be placed. As I said earlier, please do not hesitate to message me any time you need help or have any questions. Cheers! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 18:11, 7 March 2016

Hi. Part of a group project for class at Pomona College to make a page for Ian Thomas Malone. Can you help us to bring the page up to wiki standards? Really need to get a good grade on this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Galacticbinks42 (talkcontribs) 18:42, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Galacticbinks42 - If this a required class assignment, then that's unfortunate and you need to speak to the person who assigned you this article. The person does not appear to meet Wikipedia's general notability guidelines, nor does it appear to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines regarding people. This isn't anything that you can fix within your article; your article is not the main issue in regards to the deletion discussion. It's whether or not the person meets these guidelines after performing research and source searching. Your best option is to pick another article subject to write about, in my honest opinion. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:26, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. I corrected a mistake and you rejected it. The "Crew Cuts" should be "Crew Cats". For proof, just Google "Dean Beard Crew Cats" and you will see multiple images of his 45 rpm records that clearly show "Crew Cats". I am also from the area Dean Beard lived and have knowledge of his career. https://www.discogs.com/Dean-Beard-And-The-Crew-Cats-Dean-Beard-And-Jack-And-Bill-My-Roberta-No-Love-For-Me/release/4852321 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.219.9.151 (talk) 06:19, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

Articles_for_deletion/Kiran_Bir_Sethi

Dear Oshwah,

Thank you for replying so promptly, and having the patience and consideration to explain how the AFD works to a newbie like me.

I based my request on the following comment by user DDG on the deleted article's talk page, where he wrote the following comment:

"It is possible that she is notable, but if so, the article still needs to be deleted and started over. As David Eppstein said, the promotionalism is too pervasive. I also tried to see if a little rewriting would help, and failed also. Lack of notability is not the only reason for deletion. Borderline notability combined with clear promotionalism is an equally good reason."

It was based on this comment as well as the discussion that preceded this comment that I made my request. Please advise if, given these observations by the editors in the talk page Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Kiran_Bir_Sethi, could I request a review of an rewritten article that attempts to address the issues.

For instance, in terms of notability, among many other achievements, Design For Change, the movement started by Kiran Sethi, was recently identified by the UN as one of 15 programs that can help achieve its global goals for sustainable development. UN Global Goals Programs. We would like to, if possible, add an article on the Design for Change movement Design for Change and like Kiran's biography to this article.

Once again, thank you for your time! :)

Best, Mohan --Mrgudipati (talk) 06:25, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Mrgudipati. No problem, I'm always happy to help out new people. If the article is deemed notable to pass Wikipedia's notability guidelines, it generally shouldn't be deleted, but instead improved. The "advertising" or non-neutral wording can simply be changed or removed. However, if it's acknowledged that the person meets the guidelines and the article is still deleted (which really shouldn't happen), you can certainly just start over and re-write the article. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers, and good luck! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:50, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

Some advice...?

This IP user made edits to this page; Private intelligence agency, including adding the name of a company; "Etikx intelligence". Then immediately after, this new user account was created with the same name; "Etikx". Only other edits so far are to talk pages in support of WP:OR for the private intelligence industry, with this user claiming "they are in the industry". So, is this a spamming issue? A COI issue? An account name issue? Should it be reported? ...and where? (or will you deal with it?) Or should it be ignored? Thanks. - theWOLFchild 10:33, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

Nasty P - changes to article

Hi Oshwah

Thank you for helping out on the article I really appreciate it!!

I am new to this and trying my hardest to pick it all up but I am coming across an issue maybe you can pass your expertise on ?

On the article it shows that its an orphan page at the moment. I used the easy link finder on here and I think I tied up Nasty P to the KFM records article page however I am unsure if I must then remove the orphan tag or if I must find something else to link it up to ? I did read that one link may be enough but I am hoping that you can pass some knowledge my way.

Many Thanks

Azura81 (talk) 17:03, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi Azura81! Pages are called "orphans" when there are no other pages on Wikipedia that link to it. If there are related articles that you know mention this article, you just need to link the words using [[ ]]. That will no longer make it an orphan. It's not a big deal, and it won't lead to the deletion of the article. But it helps to have it linked so that others can navigate to it by other means than just searching. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:11, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
HI Oshwah,
Thank you for replying so soon. I did link it to the KFM records on their article page but the orphan tag still seems to remain on the nasty p article. Does the robot remove it ? or do I have to remove it? or do I just leave it once I have linked it ? sorry to ask silly questions.
thank you

Wikipedia Article on J. Frank Dalton

Dear Oshwah:

I am in the process of revising the Wikipedia article on J. Frank Dalton. In the past few days I have added a lot of information to the article. Subsequently, further intensive research which I have been conducting on this subject has shown that some of my new contributions to the article were false information, so I am now in the process of revising some parts of that information and altogether deleting other parts of it. I am an expert on the subject of J. Frank Dalton, and I am the person who contributed most of the information to the article in the first place. In the past 2 months somebody revised the article, saying new DNA research has revealed that "J. Frank Dalton" was actually the son of David Dalton and Nancy J. Self. Over the past few days I have been researching that idea and the information that someone had contributed to the article to that effect, and I have now reached the conclusion that that information is a mistaken idea. In other words, in reality, contrary to what that other contributor believes, "J. Frank Dalton" was NOT the son of David Dalton and Nancy J. Self. I am in the process of revising the article in such a way that it becomes clear to readers why "J. Frank Dalton" was not J. F. Dalton (born 1858) of Ripley County, Missouri and Randolph County, Arkansas.

Basically all I am doing is just "revising" what I myself have contributed to the article over the past few days. I am mostly just deleting information which further research on my part has shown to definitely be false. I don't want to be responsible for all that false information in the article.72.68.90.239 (talk) 05:17, 11 March 2016 (UTC)

Electromotive force article edit

I made an edit a few days ago as a sort of query of one of the facts presented in the article which you deleted for being irrelevant. In part 5.1 "chemical sources" the final line includes the phrase "at 273 K (room temperature)". 273K is not room temperature. I didn't know which part of that to edit though since I didn't know which one was relevant to the article. I didn't know whether to change the article to "at 273 K (0°C/32°F)" or to "at 298 K (room temperature)". Cameron Todd Willingham

Showing only an altered version of Willingham's last statement is not objective. It is not our job as Wikipedia editors to let our own idealism get in the way of neutrality. Painting a more sympathetic picture of an executed killer is not our prerogative as editors. The correct course of action is either to display the last statement in it's entirety or to not display it at all - which is why I removed it on my second edit. I ask you to to consider this position as it is indeed in line with Wikipedia quality standards and is in keeping with general precedence. Dear,

we added two documents to the page. One is a judgement against Daniels for fraud and one is the record from Nevada that his company'ss predecessor was forfeited. We have tried several times to add this information to the page. The information is correct and negative, but Alan Daniels is fooling people by not disclosing this on "his" Wlipedia site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.44.0.15 (talk) 17:37, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

Information icon Hello Oshwah. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3), or significance (CSD A7) moments after they are created, as you did at LawnStarter Lawn Care Service. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. "Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Gender inequality in the United States with this edit, without explaining why. Information icon Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Gender inequality in the United States. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. A guy saved by Jesus (talk) 03:30, 18 March 2016 (UTC)"

firstly I would like to point out that I explained my edit fairly well. At least fairly well, for the low character limit. I explained (this is not a direct quote) that i changed the inaccurate and one sided information that was previously there. I had said that i changed it to something that had been examined from more than "women make this much, men make this much" to something more of "examining the wage gap from more than just gender reveals the wage gap to be around 4.8% to 7% and not the inaccurate 20%". Secondly I would like to make the point that this is not my personal observation, i added a source in another edit (it was a couple minutes later because i had forgotten to add it with my first edit). the information i got the first paragraph from is this link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/christina-hoff-sommers/wage-gap_b_2073804.html my second paragraph i seem to have lost the link to the source of. — Preceding unsigned comment added by The only truth-teller (talkcontribs) 03:47, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

The only truth-teller - You made two edits to Gender inequality in the United States: this one, and this one. In both of these edits, you removed content in the article that was referenced by a reliable source (the American Journal of Sociology). You then replaced it with content that was opinionated and not referenced at all. For example, you added this text: "supposedly a woman is paid 20% less than a man for the same job. This is, to some extent, true. Women do on average make 20% less than men. This factor, however, has nothing to do with sexism, yet it is the different career choices that causes this false wage gap." - this injects a point of view that does not align with Wikipedia's policy regarding the need to edit in a neutral point of view. If you had instead referenced studies that showed this to be a contributing factor, and added the text in a manner that was neutral and spoke about these studies, that would be different. But you did not. So, yes. I reverted your changes back to the revision that was referenced by a source, and did not contain opinionated commentary that was not neutral. I highly recommend that you review Wikipedia's guidelines on citing reliable sources, as well as Wikipedia's policy on editing in a neutral point of view (linked earlier). This will help you with conforming to Wikipedia's guidelines, and will answer your questions. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:56, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

86.157.22.13 - The reason I reverted your changes was because you did not cite any reliable sources with the content that you added. Articles that are biographies of living people undergo very tight scrutiny with content and the requirement to provide reliable sources with things that are added. So long as you follow the links to the guides that I've provided for you in this response, you'll be fine. Please read them, and let me know if you have questions about the guidelines that I listed. I'll be happy to answer them and clarify any confusion. Happy editing! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:17, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

Death of Kelly Thomas

Thank you for the talk page message. What was unconstructive about my edit to the page? I used the article's talk page to explain the edit. generic_hipster 07:27, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Generic hipster - Your edit to Death of Kelly Thomas was reverted because you didn't cite a reliable source when you stated that the person "was beaten by Jay Cicinelli". I apologize; I should have been more detailed with my message to you. But this was the reason that I reverted your change. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I'll be happy to answer them. Cheers -- ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 07:34, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
Well alright, but your revert restored some vandalism into the article. I will leave you to find it. Furthermore, WP:CITELEAD says avoid cites in the leading paragraph. generic_hipster 07:42, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
I don't believe that I did. The previous version of the article was more neutral, referenced properly, and in-line with Wikipedia's policies compared to your revision. Read the guidelines I provided for you; you'll understand why after you do so. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 07:53, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
the part about him being tasered in the scrotum is vandalism introduced here. i went ahead and made some fixes to the article including removing the scrotum vandalism. generic_hipster 08:05, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
generic_hipster - You are absolutely correct. The edit that you referenced in your previous response appears to be possible vandalism, and I thank you for catching and reverting it. I will acknowledge this for absolute sure! :-) However... minus the possible vandalism that was added, I believe that the overall principle behind your content changes were not in-line with Wikipedia's guidelines, and I stand behind my original reasons for reverting the changes. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:12, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

The original article was at best misleading, and in reality, poor indeed.

Is there a more senior editor who monitors what you are doing? I think I need to talk to him/her.

86.174.49.116 - What happened was that I accidentally reverted all of your changes instead of the particular one that I was intending to revert (and for that, I apologize). While your overall changes do include references (awesome!), there were a couple that caused me some slight concern (namely, these edits you made: [4], [5], [6], [7], and [8]). Some of these changes appear to be commentary, while others appear to be unreferenced. This is what I was trying to revert. If you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to let me know. Cheers -- ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 18:59, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

Spurs head to head record

I saw that you reverted an edit by 180.191.135.142 for not citing, but it was also redundant, because I updated before he put that in on the paragraph above, which before last night said "winning or tied". The win over Portland last night gives them a winning record against every active franchise.

I don't know how to cite, but if you wish, the head to head results can be found here.

Friends Advice

Hi Oshwah

I was trying to delete the Wikipedia Listing for my home - Friends's Advice. I do not know how or why it was posted, but this property is a private home, not a public property. It should not be listed, described, or photographed on Wikipedia. Please help! Johnembry (talk) 21:00, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
Johnembry, the property is on the National Register of Historic Places so it is of encyclopedic interest. On the application to the NRHP, you are not listed as the owner who was Albert Wedemeyer at the time of application. The Wedemeyer family occupied this property for over 200 years and helped with the process of the property achieving NRHP status.
You blanking the page will only result in your edits being reverted. I suggest you post a note at Wikipedia:OTRS noticeboard with your concerns. Liz Read! Talk! 21:16, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Woody Allen with this edit, without explaining why. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Hi Oswah,

It was not a mistake. The paragraph is in the wormg place since it refers to an interview of 2014, but is located together when describing what happened in 1892. It looks like Moses said from the beginning that Woody Allen did not molest Dylan when he never did say that until 2014. The article is already quoted two paragraphs later, when discussing the events of 2014, thus is it redundant.

In fact, the whole section cites articles in defense of Woody Allen and completely ignores the resolution of judge New York Supreme Court Justice Elliott Wilk in Woody Allen’s 1992 custody suit. There the judge completely oposes Allens arguments and vindicates Mia and Dylan Farrow. His resolution denies the custody even if addmitting that there are not enough proof for prosecution. The page shoule refelct both sides, not only Woody Allen's. That is what I was trying to achieve. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/02/10/inside-the-shocking-custody-case-court-documents-that-shed-light-on-the-dylan-farrow-woody-allen-saga.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheAlitxu (talkcontribs) 12:25, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

SinfulSindy (talk) 18:49, 22 March 2016 (UTC)sinfulsindy

SinfulSindy - Have you created this page yet? There are a couple issues with what you are trying to do. First of all, there's conflict of interest; obviously, you have a personal connection with this subject. Working on article subjects where you have a conflict of interest is highly discouraged behavior, as it makes it nearly impossible for you to adhere to a neutral point of view when working on the article. The best thing to do with the article subject (as well as linking other articles to it) is to not do it yourself, but let others do it who do not have a conflict of interest. If you want to request the article be created for you, add it to Wikipedia's requested articles page. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:04, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

Please stop reverting my edits

I don't know why you won't let me update the Windows 10 edition page. Stop reverting my edits. You cannot upgrade from Windows 10 Enterprise to Windows 10 Enterprise. I don't need a source. Trust me. Anyone who can read and think like a human would understand that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Locke411 (talkcontribs)

Locke411 - Your edits here and here (and now here, as you've reverted your changes yet again) - is not supported by a reliable source. If your change is correct and performing an in-place upgrade from the same Operating System to the exact same Operating System is not possible, then you need to provide a source that says that it isn't possible. I'm going to start a discussion on the article's talk page. Instead of reverting and causing an edit war, please discuss your concerns there. Remember that it is up to the editor who makes the change to provide a source when asked to. "Trust me, I know" doesn't count. It is original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. Thank you. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:16, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
I understand that this is resolved after another party also said that you cannot logically upgrade from one version to the same version. I wouldn't cite a source if I say that A does not equal A. I would just say that is intuitively obvious. I also wouldn't cite a source for a grammar change, or cite a source correcting a mathematical error. Not all changes need citations. I am not making a factual claim, but a logical conclusion, and a simple one at that. Locke411 (talk) 16:30, 23 March 2016 (UTC)
Locke411 - Indeed! I appreciate the discussion, and I thank you for your patience and for participating. Happy editing :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 18:55, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

Peter Brown Change removal.

Peter Brown died today. He was friends with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Their granddaughter Julie is a friend of mine and a friend of Peter Brown and his family. She posted about his death with personal condolences to his wife and children.

Is that enough of a source? I'm new to editing wikipedias. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BobbosH (talkcontribs) 21:36, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

BobbosH - Unfortunately it is not. Your "personal knowledge" of people that know the person constitutes original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. If or when a reliable source publishes a news story or article discussing the event, then the information can be added here. Another guideline you should review is Wikipedia's biographies of living people page. It explains that such information that is unreferenced (or poorly referenced) must be removed immediately and on-sight. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Thank you! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:44, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckonging

Can you please explain further why my edit was deleted? I believe that people coming to read about the game they loved to play would also love to know that there is a private server available to them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.255.161.20 (talk) 21:40, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

That is because the external link, as well as the manner in which you described it, can appear to constitute advertising, and doesn't belong in an encyclopedia. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:46, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

It depends. If it meets Wikipedia's verifiability and notability guidelines, then it could be included as an article. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:58, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

regarding my edit

"Hello Oshwah, I left you a message earlier about an edit I made on one of the articles "History of the race and intelligence controversy". In your previous messages to other users You have maintained that you want to ensure "Wikipedia neutrality". The article that I am referring to clearly promotes the principle of "genetic deference in I.Q. with a positive spin on well known eugenics supporters, some of whom are known german supporters during second world war. When opposing points of view are discussed they are mostly accompanied by terms such as, " known Marxist" and " left wing". If you could suggest a better way for me to point out that an article in WIKIPEDIA that clearly supports that people of african origin are intellectually deficient and eugenics was a well thought out principle by people of good intentions, please let me know. Sincerely..."

Nirvana wiki

Hello, I was the one who changed the Nirvana page and added pat smear as a band member. I do want to say that Pat Smear (that is now in foo fighters) was a part of Nirvana in 1993, he joined Nirvana to be a rhythm guitarist in 1993 for there MTV unplugged performance, and a after that he joined the band officially. To be honest, because Nirvana aren't together anymore I think you should put Kurt, Krist and Dave in the "Past members" box. Or at least add Pat in the members box.

Thank you, Jonathan.

Help on Scott Bradlee / Postmodern Jukebox pages

Hey Oshwah -- Thanks for your help today with the Scott Bradlee page. I've created a new breakout page for Scott Bradlee's popular band, "Postmodern Jukebox," and I deleted the band member info from the "Scott Bradlee" page because I moved it over to the new page I've just created for the band (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postmodern_Jukebox). I thought it would be redundant to have the band member info on the page "about Scott" ... and rather, that it made more sense over on the band page. Also, I had made a quite a few corrections to Scott's bio (which seemed incorrect, but you just reverted back as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Writer1977 (talkcontribs) 23:13, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

Does this make sense for these two respective pages? Can you advise? Writer1977 (talk) 23:07, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi Oshwah -- Just following up on this. Could you reply back? Writer1977 (talk) 17:10, 23 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi, Writer1977! I apologize for the delay getting back to you. I just saw this edit, where you removed references without explaining why using an edit summary. In the future, using an edit summary will help other editors to know and understand what you're doing and why. That was my only concerns. If you feel that the removal was valid, by all means ... please feel free to remove the information (especially if it's redundant). Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Cheers! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:45, 23 March 2016 (UTC)
Hey Oshway -- When you have a moment, would you mind looking again at the "Scott Bradlee" page and seeing if my edit summary is apporpriate? I've gone in an re-edited the page. Also, please note, the removed information about Postmodern Jukebox (lower down on the page) now lives over on the newly-created PMJ page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postmodern_Jukebox Writer1977 (talk) 18:47, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

POV and weasel words...

Why is it white supremacy to oppose white genocide, but not black supremacy to oppose black genocide? POV of both articles implies the latter is more accurate, that is to say more accepted viewpoint, of a conspiracy theory than the former, leading the reader to believe the latter in lieu of the former. The former article is bare-bones and reads like an ADL pamphlet. How liberal is wikipedia supposed to be? 75.171.212.134 (talk) 23:11, 22 March 2016 (UTC)Signed
Because "let's treat everyone equally" really isn't genocide for white people, while the West has historically engaged in a number of activities that resulted in the deaths of countless black people. Ian.thomson (talk) 00:23, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

maybe a little more civil

Although I'm still upset at your approach of just removing everything added to a page... I'll attempt to justify the changes I made to your *%^* page that requested additional citations. I had added the only known united states directory(via Hostsearch) for web hosting providers and I had added another page that referenced the top hosting providers. I will agree that the last one may not have been needed for clarifications. However, I did contribute to your page by adding the only source available on the internet that can verify the statement requesting a citation. If justification is what you call collaboration then there you go. /ragequit — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.119.82.14 (talk) 23:49, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

Hello. I made considerable edits , all properly explained, however I forgot to remove some references and got an auto generated message telling me so. Sempra Energy Changes

Hello Oshwa,

I realized that I forgot to leave comments on my edits. I redid my edits and gave an explanation. I included the example of Google in my edit comments to show that it isn't fair to label companies with such an obvious bias. What happened was fact but it's quite obvious that the intent of putting such a description was to discredit SoCal Gas. I have no ties with the company and feel that my edits were justified as I am trying to keep neutral tones as per Wikipedia's culture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CorruptTheory (talkcontribs) 04:28, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi Oshwah,

Don't you think the claim about an Islamic resurgence aiding medicine needs to be elaborated upon? I understand if my edit was too opinionated.

Rculprobinson - Thanks for leaving me a message. Yes, your edit here didn't appear to be in a neutral point of view. If there is content in the article that is clearly opinionated and not cited by reliable references, or appears to speak in the first person (i.e. "I believe", or "This is not true") without referencing studies or sources, they should be removed. Please let me know if you have any questions about Wikipedia's neutral point of view guidelines. I'll be happy to answer them :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:34, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

Removal of material from the site of Karl Peters

Hi Oshwah,

Thanks for contacting me by email. The website we are talking about is mine. Some months ago, someone replaced my picture with that of a person who reminds me of Hitler. I'm not used to editing of wikipedia and so did nothing and forgot about it. However, yesterday, I tried to to the edit to replace the picture, and I added some recent material.

I did this after I logged in, and so assumed that I could do this.

Since you appear to have removed the material I added, would you please restore it.

Also, I would appreciate very much a tutorial on the correct way to do this.

Best wishes,

Karl Karl E. Peters — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karl Peters (talkcontribs) 13:20, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Karl Peters! Thanks for leaving me a message with your questions and request for assistance! I'll be happy to help you out! Your edit removed an infobox from the article completely, and also added content that was not cited by a reliable source. This is why I reverted the change that you made. If you're looking to add a picture, you can simply insert it as you did. I just wouldn't remove the infobox ;-). If you need help with citing sources, the two links I provided in the previous sentence will assist you. If you have questions about them, please let me know. Thanks, and happy editing :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:42, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi Oshwah,

Thanks for returning the material to the inbox on my cite. I was trying to get rid of the picture, which is not me, and when I clicked on it, the entire inbox was highlighted. I found the proper home for the picture on this site https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wegberg . The picture was taken in 1930, nine years before I was born. I believe it was uploaded to my site some time ago. Can you remove it for me. I would like to put up a correct one. Karl Peters (talk) 00:01, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

Harvey's broiler-Johnie's Broiler Page

Hi there Oshwah,

Received your message regarding the re-edit of the Johnie's Broiler page that I along wrote with several other members of the groups that actually saved saved 'HARVEY'S broiler-JOHNIE'S broiler from complete demolition. The reason for the re-edit of the page is that when it was put up, one of our members only labeled it as a JOHNIE'S broiler when in fact to was most famous as HARVEY'S broiler from 1958 when built to 1968 when the owner Harvey Ortner had to step back from running the concern due to health issues,in doing so while continuing to own the property, he leased the business to The Johnson Family who changed the signage to Johnie's Broiler hence the one N in Johnie and the mascot "Fat Boy" which was brought over in conjunction with a sister restaurant that was purchased in 1967 also named Johnie's (in lower case).

The terms of the lease were never met and Harvey Ortner had legally retain control of the restaurants property until his death, at which time Christos Smyrniotis assumed management along with his brothers George and Steve. It is important to note that in the Smyrniotis management of the property that it changed ownership to Christos and that that restaurant was closed down on 31,December 2001 and subsequently leased to a car dealership that was supposed to retain the restaurant as a business as well which never happened. The tenant "Car Outlet" was to have a 10 year lease of the property. The signage was still on the building as a restaurant, but doing business as a car dealership. The tenant violated his lease agreement by removing fixtures and terazo tile by jbroiler-Jack hammering out counter step and gutting the building.

This was brought to the attention of the City of Downey and a stop work order was issued, Key elements of HARVEY'S broiler-JOHNIE'S broiler were being destroyed.. This building qualified and was granted landmark status, but did not received it's plaque with # due to the property owners claim of economic hardship. several years went by and in August of 2006 a new tenant and lease was signed. In November of 2006 the tenant Ardas Yanek applied for in "Christos Smyniotis'" name and denied a permit for demolition on the grounds that it did not contain the required Environmental Impact Report.

On the afternoon of January 7, 2007 a crime occurred when Mr Yanek took it upon himself to hire machinery-equipment and perform an Illegal Demolition on a Sunday Afternoon with the employment of day laborers from the local home improvement center. Most of this information is covered in the page as it was originally written. It has been edited as a result of changes in history over the course of 9 years since the demolition occurred and when JKBBD-Big Boy Restaurants-Jim Louder assumed control of the property in April of 2008. The edited version contains information that is current and factual. Please update Wikipedia Johnie's Broiler page to include what I have edited as HARVEY'S broiler is a part of AMERICAN HISTORY and the CALIFORNIA CAR CULTURE.

Sincerest Thanks, Kevin Preciado Lead-Coalition To Save and Rebuild HARVEY'S broiler. Former Automotive Activities Coordinator-Bob's Big Boy Broiler 2009-2014.

restoring the content of Draft LGBT ageing

Hi Oshwah, You restored the content of Draft LGBT ageing but it's been in the main articlespace for 3 months now. Why would people continue to work on a draft when they can modify the article? Edits on "Dublin Metropolitan Police" (approx 01.30, London UK time)

Hello, Oshwah:

Please bear with me as I'm new to editing in Wikipedia and have only just set up a user account.

I made two edits which you say you have changed:

_ the first was to change one word, "infamously", to "famously", with regard to Edward Broy. I did so in the interests of fairness and impartiality, and I don't believe that needs a citation !! However, if a source *is* needed, material on the career of Broy may be found in "Michael Collins _ The Lost Leader" by Margery Forester (a New Zealand historian).

_ the second was to expand on the existing paragraph about the depiction of Broy (and his fictional death) in the 1996 film "Michael Collins". I didn't list a source, partly because I don't know how, but mainly because everything I said is based on Wikipedia's own page "Dick McKee" (which begins: " Richard “Dick” McKee (Irish name Risteárd Mac Aoidh; 4 April 1893 – 21 November 1920)... " _ in case you're searching for it).

I would be grateful if you could restore my edits.
