French song[edit]

Just to let you know that your question on the French Oracle has been answered as follows:

Il semble qu'il s'agisse d'une chanson intitulée Ombre-elle du groupe Gnawa diffusion (tiens un liens rouge... Essayer donc ici) Escaladix 20 mars 2006 à 08:53 (CET)
- Mu 09:14, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The song belongs to Gnawa diffusion, a group composed of Algerian, Moroccan and French musicians. They used to be my favourites as they were the pioneers to give Gnawa music a new dimension. The leader, Amazigh Kateb, is the son of Kateb Yacine. -- "Szvest 09:29, 20 March 2006 (UTC)" Wiki me up™[reply]

rfa[edit]

Yo - good luck and God bless for the upcoming RfA. I won't be around (visiting Bombay and Gujarat), but I'll find an opportunity to put my vote down for you. Rama's Arrow 22:26, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Rama's Arrow 22:53, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Be ready, the time has come - 23rd March 2006 late evening, I shall be nominating you for adminship. You shall not be able to escape this time. --Bhadani 15:11, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, may the God bless you always! --Bhadani 15:12, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"Late evening," I'm assuming thats Indian time. That might be too late here in Australia and I was hoping to be the first person to support Deeptrivia! Oh well, btw Deepak you definitely deserve to become an admin. GizzaChat © 08:13, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much![edit]

Thank you for taking the time to put up those Indian ziyaret and the pictures. Seems to me that making something that none of us could do alone is the real purpose of WP. Hoping you had a great Holi, Zora 01:36, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll stay away from the article for a while, to avoid edit conflicts. You're doing great work! Check out that link I found, it seems useful. Zora 01:51, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where are you from?[edit]

Deepti didi (I assume that is your name) where are you from? I have just registered... I see you in the RD... could you someday write something about me when I get older (and hopefully do something nice) Kushal one 22:30, 22 March 2006 (UTC) I hope I am not intruding or disturbing you.[reply]

I think he is Deep (a male Indian name) and not Deepti (a female Indian name}. Am I right? --Bhadani 13:51, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

image[edit]

Please see the discussion on the template page. I hope that some agreement can be reached to keep the template as free from religious associations as possible. I think an image is unnecessary, or it should be neutral. The next best solution would be to have one image for each religion, or somebody makes a single image out of different ones. --Combes 11:04, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination[edit]

Deep, as discussed earlier, I am about to nominate you for adminship, please accept the nomination. I thank you in advance for accepting my request. --Bhadani 13:53, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Map sources[edit]

Hi there, thanks for the leads on my talk page. I appreciate your need for some graphics to support the text in WP:HOI drive that you have initiated. Well, have created two from the routes/wars list. Will add more as I create them (am sure you know that creating decent maps/graphics is generally a very time-consuming process :-) ). Cheers! --ΜιĿːtalk 14:05, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

History of India maps[edit]

Thanks, those were maps I made for another (non-Wiki) project awhile back, I figured I might was well upload them. Glad they are useful.

Hi,

Please review the changes I made to Indian Institutes of Technology and suggest changes/improvements. I was not able to find out the mottos of IITD and IITR, and believe that they don't have one. Can you confirm this? Anyway, best of luck for you RfA. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 16:49, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am repeating the message:

RfA failure[edit]

I am deeply sorry for what has happened. I never knew you did such edits. Fortunately for me, like many users I performed vandalism tests when I met Wikipedia but did it as an anon. But I changed teh minute I saw no page for Vaishnodevi and even though it was speedied (without a legit reason, just becoz I was an anon and the page was not wikified!), I continued to add info and eventually created an account.

If you continue to contribute to Wiki for the next 3/4 months, I'm sure someone will nominate you again and then you sould become one. Once again it was heart-breaking news. (Rama's Arrow didn't even vote! What a shame) GizzaChat © 04:23, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My dear Deeptrivia, I wish you all the best in your wiki-life, as also in the real life. In fact, in to-day's cyber world, digital life has become more significant, and one should treat one's digital existence with respect. I trust that you shall learn lessons from comments of the fellow-wikipedians. I wish you all the best. Please continue with renewed vigor. --Bhadani 13:47, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi deeptrivia. Though we have not interacted much before, I was very much looking forward to yours and User:Ganeshks RFA noms. So it came as a surprise to me that everything happened so fast. I sincerely feel that it is Wikipedia's loss not yours. I perfectly agree with Bhadaniji's feelings. Rama's arrow seems to be on a break. I am sure that he too would feel saddened by this turn of events. I wish you all the best for the next few months. Please don't give up any hope, we all need you. I promise that in your next RFA, I will be one of the first ones to vote Support, even if I have left Wikipedia at that time. - Aksi great 14:16, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to see your RFA end that way. In the time I had been active here, I have always seen the best side of yours. Please don't let this affect you. You are an asset here, please continue to contribute. - Ganeshk (talk) 20:30, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hugs[edit]

I wasn't aware of your earlier incarnations, which surprised me. You've been even-handed and pleasant in the time that I've worked with you. I'm sorry that it should end up this way, but ... perseverance in your new dedication to metta is going to eventually outweigh early mistakes. In fact, there's a lot to be said for screwing up and learning things the hard way -- teaches humility and forbearance for all us other fallible humans. Like water, you've flowed to the bottom, and now you can be a still pool reflecting the light. As they say in USian chat rooms, <<<<HUGS>>>> Zora 06:00, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, sorry...[edit]

I completely missed your rfa - too bad it had to end the way it did - I was under the impression that it would be initiated on 24th. I believe that your answers to the questions and Bhadani's nom should have been on the longer side and involved full disclosure. Had I been around when your rfa was on, I would have made only one point - given that it is so easy to create a new account, what prevented Deeptrivia from creating a new account and do the same good work he has done instead of continuing with the same account after being blocked for a week - this suggests that he is ready to face the consequences of his prior actions, which indicates his maturity, a much needed trait for an admin. Please do not let this setback get to you, keep doing the good work you've been doing. --Gurubrahma 18:24, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

from Nirav[edit]

Hi DT - I'm writing from Ahmedabad. I was hoping to vote on your RfA, which I calculated would be on-going, and just discovered that how it ended. It was shocking to discover this, and it makes me sick to my stomach to read the unreasonable judgments of the opposers.

I'm not offering any solace. In my view, you are the best candidate for the job in this place, and if you get such a bad review, the entire RfA process is without any significance. To put your brilliant work of the past 4 months below a meaningless and arbitrary time period which does not ever prove anything about a user is one of the all-time worst judgments ever made here.

Don't stop to reflect. I ask you to raise hell! Fire across this Wikipedia with a power and zeal fiercer than ever before! Write FAs, upload images, DYKs, more! Fight vandalism and lead the RC patrol with a zeal that puts all admins to shame! Wear your history and your heart on your sleeve. Launch your Satyagraha that will render norms meaningless and expose the foolishness of the rationale that stopped you from having a few tools that you should ideally "own."

It is not wrong not to ask you to not be concerned about what others think of you. I hope this has not affected your life in general, although perhaps it is inevitably a bit of a downer. "Others" did not create you, nor will they be the ones to kill you, so they never "define" you either. This has been an eye-opener. I'll really have to think about what I want to do here when I come back.

Jai Sri Rama! Rama's Arrow 06:52, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - a little bit cooler now. I'm very sorry that I wasn't around to help. I have a lot of faith in you. Know that you have a lot of support and respect from me and a lot of others. It was due to your kindness and support that convinced me to resolve my differences with Gurubrahma. None of my projects would have been successful without your advice and support. I shall always look to you for advice and guidance. Take care, and may God bless you and your family. Jai Sri Rama! Rama's Arrow 08:22, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings[edit]

Hello Deeptrivia. As I said on your RFA, I am very impressed with your article contributions and your handling of conflict since the unfortunate incident last year. Your message to me also shows that you have matured, and are willing to accept constructive (which is howI intended it) criticism. Please keep up the good work, and I would not hesitate to nominate you myself sometime in the future, provided you stay the positive course that you are currently on. Thank you.--Sean Black (talk) 03:30, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note. I'd certainly review any future RFA with an open mind. Jayjg (talk) 04:24, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Seconded. It's pretty rare for notes like this to appear on my talkpage, esp. when it comes to a failed RfA. :) - Best regards, Mailer Diablo 05:53, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Great grapes

Remeber Deep, time is dynamic, and we are the most vibrant digital community of the human history until now - I am happy that you are a man of integrity, and I wish you all the best. Please continue with renewed vigor. Cheers. Would you like to have some grapes? They are as fresh as your nice edits. --Bhadani 04:56, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

re: Hi[edit]

My lack of support on your RfA has nothing to do with your 6,000+ edits, nor your length of time on the project. I feel you are not admin material, and that your passive-aggressive templated response proves that. You need to re-think your position on Islam, and be more civil towards other users despite your personal beliefs. I don't care whether you have 6,000 edits or 6,000,000, it doesn't matter... it matters that you haven't changed your ways, and you won't be responsible with your tools. -Mysekurity 06:03, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, I did not check the (numerous) other users who opposed you, but the way it was written was so impersonal that I knew it had to be templated. Don't get me wrong, I was a problem user when I first came to Wikipedia, but I made up for it not by counter-acting my previous edits to prove I was beyond them, but by making good edits, and not just a high number of them. You personally need to become more accepting before I can allow myself to support in the future. -Mysekurity 06:29, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It is not the number of edits that makes one a good contributor. You have done well for Wikipedia, but as pointed out by those who have opposed you in your RfA has shown us the wrong way. Instead of getting disheartened, you should try again in sometime, and take this time to contribute well to Wikipedia. Your contributions will not go unappreciated. I completely trust you when you talk about your transformation, like hundreds of other Indian users. In three months time, you can try again and see the change in your RfA. It would be even better if you can join the other Wikipedians for common discussions over IRC. #wikipedia --Andy123(talk) 08:37, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IVC map[edit]

no, he did comment on my talkpage, [1]. He appears "firmly convinced" that if he finds some map in his basement, scans it and fiddles with filtering options a little bit, that makes him the "creator". This would, of course, not be true for a work of art, and it is even less true of an image with informative content: Even if he *was* the creator, that would just make the map original research. Especially the "many sites in Uttar Pradesh" figure on no other map I've seen. Unless we know who published the map, it is worthless. Once we do know who published it, we can take the information in the map and draw our own. See also my comments on Image:IVC Map.png: The sources I link there should be more than sufficient to draw our own detailed map. Somebody just has to actually do it. dab () 09:29, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar[edit]

I, Bhadani, award the Resilient Barnstar to Deeptrivia, in recognition of continuing to be a true Wikipedian, learning from past mistakes, and in spite of his unfortunate and failed first RfA, to continue to work here with renewed vigor– may he continue to shine as the resilient-silver! --Bhadani 17:09, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I congratulate you on the sense of commitment, which you have shown, and to remain around to continue to build the sum total of human knowledge. --Bhadani 17:11, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know you well than several others, and so you do not have to explain the things like History of Pakistan or History of India, you wiki-geek. --Bhadani 17:22, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA[edit]

My RfA recently closed and it was a success, passing at 84-02-00. I would like to thank you for taking the time to weigh in and on your subsequent support. And I know it's quite cliche, but if you ever need any assistance and/or want another opinion on something, grab a Pepsi and don't hesitate to drop me a line on my talk page. Thanks again. Happy Birthday Thankyou[edit]

Thanks very much for the message! I greatly appeciate that.

As for the navigation buttons, well I was considering using your page template when I decided to redo my page! But I ended up copying Sango123's page template. Haha so I can't really take much credit for that.

Anyway thanks again, and I hope to talk to you in the future. mdmanser 06:06, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge ziyaret to ziyarat?[edit]

On ziyarat, Zereshk has suggested merging the articles on ziyaret and ziyarat. The ziyaret article is growing, but the ziyarat article is short and looks like it's going to stay that way. MPatel and I have agreed to the merge, but we're waiting for you to speak up, since you've done so much of the work. Please let us know what you think. Zora 21:53, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DaGizza's RfA[edit]

Thanks!

Hi Deeptrivia/Archive9, thank you for supporting me in my RfA which passed with a tally of (93/1/2). If you need any help or wish discuss something with me, you are always welcome to talk to me. GizzaChat © 12:00, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for checking out IPTA[edit]

Could you please check out Indian People’s Theatre Association? I had trouble creating the article and also categorizing it. There is IPTA Mumbai seperately now, distinct from, but related to this IPTA. May be you know about more films/ dramas churned out by the this movement. Thanks.--Dwaipayanc 14:24, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanx[edit]

Just wanted to mention thanx for your contribs to the Ziyarat articles. God speed.--Zereshk 00:30, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Qisseh Sanajan is new to me. I dont know anything about it. All I can say is that the phrase in Persian means "the story of Sanjan". User:Afghan Historian, and User:SouthernComfort are deep into Zoroastrianism. They might know more. Best wishes.--Zereshk 02:57, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
