Thanks for the warning. I thought that edit was alright because someone else actually changed the heading first.

By the way, are you going to vote in the issue? I feel that everyone is siding against me unfairly. They are even being rude to me and claiming the reverse..71.202.1.48 (talk) 00:50, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Blocked editor

Hello. Why did you block the accounts User:Lake64, User:Lake65 & User:Lake66? Axl ¤ [Talk] 14:24, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

They are obviously sockpuppets of each other and all voting in a WP:RFA, so it is a improper use of multiple accounts. Based on evidence they are probably sockpuppets of Mr Wiki Pro. GB fan 14:58, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
What is the evidence for a connection with Mr Wiki Pro? Axl ¤ [Talk] 17:37, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
There are multiple indications.
There is another brand new editor coming in and admitting I was correct[1].
There is the history of creating sequentially numbered usernames such as the River series, River60, River61, River62 and voting neutral in an RFA with them.
There is the obsession with the democratic party[2]
I believe there is enough to call this one closed. GB fan 18:20, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
Okay, thank you. (It would have been helpful if you had provided a little more context on the userpages of the blocked socks at the time of the block.) Axl ¤ [Talk] 19:14, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

The place to discuss it is on the article talk page. That way other editors that are interested can join in the conversation. GB fan 15:00, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

You did a speedy delete on a page about a famous news site that I've been a fan of since the 1990's.

You labeled it a company or band page.

Can you undo the delete and if you don't think it warrants a page let it go for discussion.

I use their breaking news page several times a day myself, since it has the top 10 networks on one page.

Since you did a speedy delete there's no way to discuss it on the page.

Thanks

I will not restore the content of the page you created. There is no claim to significance on the page and no references. If you feel it is notable, I would suggest you create a draft at a place such as Draft:247 news and then have it reviewed prior to putting it in the mainspace. You should also read Wikipedia:Your first article so you understand what is required for articles to survive. If you still disagree with this you can raise the question at Wikipedia:Deletion review. GB fan 15:00, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I'm one of the editors of 247 News

I got an email from a fan that created a page for us, and they claim you deleted the page and banned them.

They said in the email they sent us, that you accused them of being a 'sock' since another person in their office posted positive support on another page or something.

Can you put up the 247 News Page and allow the community to properly edit it.

I'll be happy to add any info about the News Site since I'm one of the editors.

Thanks

I will not restore it for you either, read my response above. Any email you got saying I accused someone of being a "sock" and banned them in relation to this article is an outright lie because all of my actions concerning this article is to delete it and respond to the message above. I can not ban someone on my own authority, I could block them but I have not done that either. GB fan 19:11, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi I would like to ask you What was the issue regarding me creating Fluper Technologies page if you can help me regarding it then I will be greatful — Preceding unsigned comment added by SunShineFluid (talkcontribs) 17:17, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

First, are you saying that you are the same person as AnshulFluid as they created Fluper Technologies not SunShineFluid. If you are the same person, you need to pick one account and use it, not switch between two different accounts. If you are the same person you should not be editing an article about a company you work for as you have a conflict of interest. Now, nothing in the article Fluper Technologies gave any indication what is significant about the company and what was there was written like an advertisement for the company. GB fan 22:03, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

Dear GB fan,

We would like it very much if you remove the page Strathearn Station, it may effect the owners of the station. The page has information about what sheep they use and they would like to keep this private because this could effect business. It would be much apprishiated if the page was taken down because it could be giving them a bad reputation.

Deleted article "Illusions unveiled"

Hi, I think you speedily deleted this article at the same time that I was contesting the deletion? The article was about an album that has received nationwide coverage by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, and I had just added references to verify this. There is no article about the band itself, should I create one and merge the album information into that one? MnrdJoe (talk) 12:36, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

From doing a little investigation I've found out that an album page can't exist without an artist page, so I will create the artist page first. MnrdJoe (talk) 12:48, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
Actually an album page can exist without an artist page, but there has to be a lot of coverage of that album. I have seen one album that survived a deletion discussion without the artist having a page but it doesn't happen much. If you create the artists page and want your album page back let me know and I can restore it. GB fan 13:02, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi GB! Hoping you are enjoying good health. As far as matter that I want to discuss is that I have completed the article on Pakistani Poet in a pure neutral way as you instructed that someone before tried to write but it was not neutral thinking. I looked at it. I did some cleanup for style problems and looked at the references. Two of the references came back as dead links. The biggest problem is I can not read the sources. You will need to find someone who can read the sources to evaluate their reliability. GB fan 23:29, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of RAC Clark

Hi Jim,

You "speedily deleted" my page labeled RAC Clark. I wanted to contest it per directions I received to click on "contest button" on my page, but one did not exist. Can you please consider re-instating the the page? I am RAC's assistant and spent a lot of time on this page. RAC Clark is the son of the late Dick Clark of America Bandstand fame. RAC is a producer himself and we would like him to have a page showing his accomplishments and link to his father. If you can not re-instate the page, kindly please tell me what I need to do to fix it so it can be published. In addition, can you kindly send me the copy back. stephanie.f@lhent.com

Many thanks, Stephanie — Preceding unsigned comment added by RAC Clark (talkcontribs) 20:06, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

deletion of the page Mary Margaret Diane Biernaskie

in the Medal of Bravery page created by the Gov Gen of Can my mother was mentioned on one of the notable receivers of the award, only 2500 people have this award in canada ... and she was on the first to receive the award and one of the first women and police officers to receive this award

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medal_of_Bravery_(Canada)#cite_note-8

I didn't originally add her page the Gov Gen people did ... all I was doing was starting to add to her page ... not really fair you strike her page as it has been created by the goverment — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soldbybrock (talkcontribs) 04:21, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

AND .... all the OTHER notable receipts still have their pages .... please put her page back and I will keep adding to it, thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soldbybrock (talkcontribs) 04:27, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

The page you are talking about must be Mary Margaret 'Diane' Brock. I am not sure what you mean by "I didn't originally add her page the Gov Gen people did", the article was created by Soldbybrock, which is the username you used to post here. All you did was copy word for word a writeup from here. The copyright notice on the site is not compatible with Wikipedia's requirements. You violated the copyright. The page can not be restored for this reason. We highly discourage anyone with a conflict of interest from editing a page. As this article is about your mother you have a conflict of interest. GB fan 11:52, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

no .... all the recipients on the medal of bravery page have personal pages. her page was blank with no info. I took the info from her write up and included the link where it came from and after the 4 days was going to add some photos as well. now all the notable recipients have pages except her. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medal_of_Bravery_(Canada)#cite_note-8 all i was doing was making a minor change ... please put the page back as all other of the notable recipients have pages — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:E008:5E:1AB8:ACFA:3525:FBB9:1DD2 (talk) 15:04, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

and again i can write a new article and just include the link ... i thought i was doing right by adding the link where it was sited from, all the other recipients have pages, its not fair to not allow her page because i screwed up as she was one of the first to receive the award — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soldbybrock (talkcontribs) 15:59, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

I did not say you could not create a page. I said that we discourage people from editing articles where they have a conflict of interest. You should read Wikipedia:Your first article. it describes what you need to have for your article to survive. If you decide to create another article, DO NOT just copy and paste from the website like you did before. GB fan 16:22, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

ah ok, thank you for explaining further. email is such a crappy way to try and work through things. I'm the only surviving person with knowledge on this event and info so there is no one else to record and share the info. i will read up on the article. thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soldbybrock (talkcontribs) 17:28, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

When you declined speedy deletion because the artist has an article, did you notice that the article on the artist was created between when I tagged this article for deletion, and when you declined it? Anyway, it's in AfD now. Swpbtalk 23:50, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

No I did not notice that. But it does not make any difference because when I evaluated it the artist had an article and that is all that matters. I did notice that when you tagged the article there was no link to an article about the artist. GB fan 23:53, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

About WP:RFA

Hi dear, can u plz tell me how can i apply for WP:RFA. Plz tell me whole procedure from a to z. Thanks dude. Stay happy Leena Barber (talk) 09:46, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

There is no a to z procedure on how to become an admin. The first step to becoming an admin is to edit the encyclopedia. If you do about 3000 edits over the course of the next year you will be on the right track. The edits should be spreadout over all areas of Wikipedia. You should write articles, participate in Articles for Deletion, do some new page patrolling and get a good track record with nominating articles for speedy deletion, participate in requested moves. While you are editing take time to read the policies and guidelines. After you have been here for 9 months or so, you should start reading recent requests for adminship to see what other editors are looking for in admin candidates. As you do this, pay particular attention to the requests that failed as they provide more incite into where problems may arise with a request. After that you should be close to becoming an admin. GB fan 11:47, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Thanks dear! How can I review the draft articles and give my opinions? Stay happy Leena Barber (talk) 17:00, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

I would suggest you learn about Wikipedia first by editing articles. This way you learn what is expected of articles. You will also need to understand the notability guidelines so you can determine if the draft should be brought to the mainspace. I would wait until you have made over 500 edits to articles before you start reviewing draft articles. GB fan 18:40, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Plz give me some links of articles that can be edited or needs editing. It is advised that they are of Canadian, Pakistani and Indian articles. Americans can also be admitted. Happy Leena Barber (talk) 17:07, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

Are Alexandar Nicole and Leena Barber the same person? GB fan 17:18, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

I don't know who is Leena Barber but something went wrong with my id, but I still believe after reading some your user talks that she is interested in you and doing bad with me or may be with someone else. Cheers! Alexandar Nicole (talk) 08:53, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

Here is my problem. Leena Barber started this section with their very first edit. Leena Barber and I were discussing how to progress to being an Admin. Then you provide a direct response to something I had said to Leena Barber. You removed that comment and then added a comment under the section where we had been talking. A day later Leena Barber comes back and asks me basically the same question you had asked and removed. Then there is also the fact that Leena Barber raised the issue of having someone with the ability to evaluate the draft article we had been talking about. What this tells me is you forgot which account you were logged in with, realized your mistake and tried to cover it up. Now when I confront you with it, you lie to me. You need to go find something else to do other than talk to me. GB fan 10:37, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

Duly noted

Yeah, Im doing research into it. Needs rewording so Im probably going to need help. Im only one man, but I really care about this issue. I guess I just feel like Im hitting my head against a brick wall. The page, as Ive mentioned, has had over 80,000 hits in the last few days. I dont even think its a matter of censorship. Most sites seem to have an 18+ thing when things like this are being discussed. It would just be nice to see it more balanced in its style. So far Ive noted word combos like can be achieved. I guess mostly I find it a bit frustrating arguing my point, because I feel like its as clear as day. Before I got involved there were some horrible references, like proper suicidal ideation stuff. Info that prying eyes shouldn't see. There have been loads of cases of suicide and notably, in the UK, even a lad of 12 killed himself just because he was being bullied. So many people have access to this site.I mean its like saying, here's how you would murder your own grandmother to a serial killer. It just makes no sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Redzimus (talkcontribs) 23:23, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

Edits

I do plan to make the article balanced throughout, to the point that people shouldn't edit it because it'll be well researched, grounded, relevant stuff. I'll start research tommorow. I cant believe nobody keeps a watchful eye over wiki. Before I make changes Im going to put it by other editors to make sure there is consensus. One idea Ive had is to put about how suicide methods demonstrated online with no censorship is a problem. Euthanasia for old and ill/in pain makes sense-but I can guess who the most of them are. Suicidal people. Sometimes you dont have the proof because confidentiality would have to be breached for that or any study like it. For that you'd need informed consent. Wiki:Why isn't there a criteria for harmful web pages. Probably because the consensus is the issue. I know Id be watching this page if I was suicidal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Redzimus (talkcontribs) 23:49, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

@GB fan, it's pointless to make any changes to that page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alliance_Global_Group I will make sure it will be removed, as it's not relevant, you have conflict of interest to create and edit it ( I have necessary proofs). It's better to remove what you did and stop it, as I will do whatever it takes to see it deleted... — Preceding unsigned comment added by PapaDoc88 (talkcontribs) 16:58, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

The only changes I have made to the page are to decline speedy deletions that were not appropriate as the article was not unambiguous advertising. I then cleaned up the WP:AFD that you created so that it was formatted correctly and listed so that editors can review the article and decide if the article should be kept or not. I have no opinion on whether the article should be deleted or kept. GB fan 17:37, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

Susan Belau

Please restore this article. Why did you delete this article? She is an award-winning university professor with her works exhibited in museums. That seems sufficiently good to have an article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrsmithincalifornia (talkcontribs) 02:38, 24 September 2014 (UTC)

I deleted it because the article did not say she had done anything significant. It said she is an art professor, the courses she is teaching this semester and that she is well regarded by her students. The article then makes vague claims of being widely know and acclaimed as an artist and art professor. The only source on the article verified the fact that she is an assistant professor. Here you make a claim that she is an award winning artist, but the article said nothing about any awards. Here are some pages you should read before writing the article.

WP:PROFESSOR, notability guide for professors

It looks like CU turned up clean, but are we really certain that Synthwave.94 isn't indeffed user Anthony77600? I noticed that they both use the word useless in the same idiosyncratic way: Anthony77600 and Synthwave.94. Rationalobserver (talk) 20:42, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

I will defer to the CU that the two accounts are not connected. GB fan 20:55, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
That's sensible, though the CU didn't make a value judgment on the behavioral similarities of the two accounts, they merely confirmed that the IPs were not similar. Nonetheless, I see that SW has now been indeffed, so it's a moot point anyway. Rationalobserver (talk) 21:11, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

Re. Deletion of Article Scrum As a Bonsai Waterfall

Hello GB Fan,

As a part of this article, I have put in the thought for the first time on table. This is related to Project Management using Agile Scrum. In a nutshell, Scrum gets in to multiple small waterfall cycles and each one of it becomes bonsai waterfall, when Scrum Project Management follows steps of traditional project management technique i.e. waterfall, but pretends following Scrum method on enterprise level. I have briefly explained the various scenarios on how this might happen and key step to avoid that. It is necessary for Scrum Technique users to understand this before/while adopting Scrum or while transforming their project management from waterfall to scrum. This article has been published on Scrum Website and accessible here. Share your views on this and we will discuss this till your satisfaction.

Best Regards, Manas D Shirode (Certified Scrum Master & Certified Scrum Professional) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manasshirode (talkcontribs) 06:12, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

I am already satisfied. You came up with a concept, published your opinion in a forum and then published it again here. There is no indication that your concept has been noticed by others and have discussed it in reliable sources. If others publish articles about your concept in reliable sources then it might be appropriate for an article. Until then it is not something that belongs as an article here. GB fan 12:16, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Well, the point is not controversial, and Laurent de Boissieu's blog is a well-known website on all political matters, and cannot be considered as un unreliable source. But OK, I won't push the point further for the time being, on the basis of this sole source at least. --Azurfrog (talk) 20:22, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
Yes it is controversial and no a blog is not a reliable source for controversial information. A blog might be a reliable source for the opinion of the writer not for a general statement. GB fan 20:27, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Hello GB fan! Sir, to be more confident in my use of WP:CSD#A7, I have no idea of how the above deleted page was eligible for deletion under WP:CSD#A7. From my understanding of WP:Deletion policy, and the use of A7, WP:CSD#A7 does not applies to any article that makes claim of significance or importance, even if the claims are not supported by WP:RS or does not meet WP:GNG. The above article made claims of significance or importance with a quick Google search. I think WP:CSD#A7 does not applies in this case and the page should be deleted through WP:AfD. Thanks. WP:A7 applies to "an article about a real person, individual animal(s), organization, web content or organized event that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, with the exception of educational institutions." WP:A7 requires that the article itself make a claim to significance not that a google search shows a claim to significance. Terren Jones did not make a claim to significance. It said he was "signed as an undrafted free agent by the Atlanta Falcons in 2013. He was placed on the practice squad in 2013 and was eventually released during the 2014 training camp." It then goes on to say "He was later picked up by the Washington Redskins and placed on the team's 2014 practice squad." None of this is a claim to significance. A claim to significance for a professional football player is listed at WP:NGRIDIRON. If you feel that the article can be improved to show notability, I will restore the article as a draft and you can work on it. GB fan 22:35, 4 October 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: The Split Squad

Hello GB fan. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of The Split Squad, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: With all the members coming from other bands, some of which are notable in their own right, and Burke having his own article as well, indiciates enough importance for A7. Needs to go to AfD. Thank you. GedUK  11:58, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism

I added these diffs because the user has been inexplicably reverting my edits. The fact that they reverted me at this page shows that they were still trolling. That is why I had included these diffs. Thank you. – Epicgenius (talk) 01:02, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

I am not edit warring because you are trolling, blanking without explanation, vandalizing, and now stalking me around. Therefore, I am reverting vandalism. – Epicgenius (talk) 01:06, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

I'm not a troll, I'm just new, and I just assumed it was done by vandal. I'll try to not do it again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wildboardwoodwalk (talkcontribs) 01:07, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

That is highly improbable, given that as a new account you have followed me to a page that I recently expanded, and then undid precisely all of the edits I have added. Besides, if you looked at the diff, you would have known if it was a vandalism edit or not. Then, to make things worse, you left no edit summaries on either article, except "I just don't find your edits to be good". – Epicgenius (talk) 01:13, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

If you Really thing you was right please see Henry de Jouvenel Because maybe I was wrong there too.--Reza amper (talk) 14:17, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

I undid it, because you did not say why it should be deleted. The other reason is that the article, Colette, that it was redirected to mentions that Henri de Jouvenel was her husband. If there is a better article for it to be redirected to, you can change the redirect. But deletion of the redirect is not appropriate. GB fan 14:27, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

Book Creator question

GBfan: I had emailed you yesterday via Wiki. It consisted of a thread of 3 emails which now stand partially corrected by various editors, however, my primary problems have not been answered. The emails were too lengthy so allow me to summarize below, as clearly as I can| a) Under "Create a book", "Start Book Creator", "Show book" you arrive at the page "Manage your book". This page allows you to title and subtitle your book, download it, save it, or send it to a printer. On the same page, lower right, is a box titled "Save and share your book" which includes an entry field titled "Choose a storage location for your book". Directly below this command, on my Manage your book page are 2 little dots, one of which you must click on/choose or the "Save" button remains greyed out. Question: What specifically do I type into the box labeled "Choose a storage location for your book"? | I tried a few different word combinations, which then activates the Save button and appends those words to User:Swamixyz on my user page. Eventually, I discovered that each time I had saved it added another page name. You and others have helped delete the 6 unwanted page links from a total of 7. | b)The book title and subtitle failed to appear anywhere on all 7 "saves". | c) Is it possible to have only your book name follow User:Swamixyz without the prefix/Books? This is what I was originally trying to accomplish. OR Due to my lack of understanding of the Wiki hierarchy, am I constrained to saving books under User:Swamixyz/Books? I hope this clearly explains what I'm not understanding about saving and naming your book. Thanks much. Swamixyz (talk) 22:44, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

I have never used the Book creator function, so I do not think I can help you. I would suggest you ask at Help talk:Books. GB fan 22:52, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

Dear Sir,

the article "Steven Z. Pavletic" was now removed due to "No indication of importance" (A7).

Indeed, there is merit to this, because the primary reason for which Steven Z. Pavletic is best known for and for which he has internationally been recognized, was not highlighted adequately.

Changes were made in the text regarding this, which will hopefully be adequate.

For your information, the changes are as follows:

1. Immediately in the very first sentence, the following has been added about Steven Z. Pavletic: "...who is best known for his achievements in developing national and international consensus guidelines for clinical trials in chronic GVHD."

(To go with REFERENCE: 1) Steven Z. Pavletic – Center for Cancer Research – Staff Pages. Retrieved 20 June 2014. http://ccr.cancer.gov/staff/staff.asp?profileid=8479 )

2. In the "AWARDS" section, it was further noted that the aforementioned 'achievements' "...enabled research to be conducted on one of the most serious late effect cancer treatment complications...", hence indicating importance.

Thank you for your input, we hope that the above changes will be to your satisfaction.

Best regards, DarkoDarko1983 (talk) 12:47, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

You would need to write the article and submit it. I would suggest starting out as a draft and asking for a review once you get it written. You can create it at Draft:Steven Z. Pavletic. GB fan 23:00, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

My talk page deletion

Hi, GB fan. I'm sorry but I want my talk page deleted because I wanted to delete all history log (including users' contributions who edited my talk page) and then I re-create it without restoring it. Thanks, --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 11:43, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

You should read the section on Deletion of user talk pages. There are very limited reasons a usertalk page is deleted and hiding the conversations you have had with other users is not one of them. GB fan 11:50, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
Just reminder: my talk page is deleted may also remove pages from users' contributions who edit my talk page was personal attacks is confusing me. Re-creation of my talk page after being deleted will not restore my talk page log entries to users' contributions. However this site is not Wikia, so that belongs to Wikia. But Wikipedia is only place that to build an encyclopedia, not role-playing zone from Wikia. --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 12:04, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
I do not understand what you are talking about. If there are personal attacks on your page, show me diffs and I will selectively remove them. I never mentioned anything about Wikia, so I do not understand why you are mentioning it. I will say this as simply as I can. I will not delete all the history from your user talk page. GB fan 12:09, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

You are free to readd the speedy deletion tag and I will not remove it again. I will leave it for another admin to decide if they will delete the page. I can predict what will happen though. GB fan 12:19, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Unblock

Thanks again for unblocking me. I haven't really approached anyone on Wikipedia yet regarding my actions here, but since a few users really are out to get rid of me, I was wondering if you could advise me if I'm doing something wrong. I follow Wikipedia guidelines, I properly source all additions to any article, and I am interested in Boris Malagurski-related articles the most as I follow Malagurski's work and I feel I can contribute most here as it is not a very popular topic - in fact there are only a handful of editors who contribute, and all of them seem to have personal issues with Malagurski, which really disrupts the editing process. Yet I continue to discuss everything, only add information to articles that is reliably sourced, only to turn out to be the bad guy in the eyes of some other editors. Then I get a quick topic ban, a block, and if it wasn't for the uninvolved editors who spoke out against what is happening to me, I'd probably leave Wikipedia (I was close to doing so, but I feel like I've contributed quite a bit that it would be a shame to stop contributing now). So, am I doing something wrong? How do I discuss topics with editors whose only interest is to make the person or his work which we're discussing - look as bad as possible? They've openly voiced their dislike of Malagurski and his work, their edits expose their POV, but that's their problem - where have I done wrong? I know I've engaged in edit warring in the past, I lost my nerve and that won't happen again, but even when I calmly try to discuss the topic area, I'm getting constant accusations and am disrupted at every corner. So, what should I do? I don't have the time or the patience to fight anyone, nor do I want to. I just want to edit and discuss in a civilized manner. One editor even pretends to be extremely polite, and then blocks every edit that doesn't have his approval. I'm not asking you to take anyone's side, nor should you. My co-workers find me to be very collaborative on everything we work on, and on Wikipedia it's just not working. I simply don't understand why. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Kindest regards, --UrbanVillager (talk) 19:57, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

Right now I don't have the time to dig through your contributions. I will look at things when I get a chance and let you know what I find. I think the block was just a mistake, the admin didn't see where the topic ban had been lifted. GB fan 20:04, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

yw, on commons you can request speedy deletion as copyright violations rather than starting a discussion about them. I see a link on the left hand tools that says "Report copyright violation". It is a lot quicker than waiting for a discussion and that image is obviously a copyright violation of the image at http://fineartamerica.com/featured/mamie-van-doren-marie-line-vasseur.html GB fan 13:20, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

Here is what I see when I look at an image on commons. Right under nominate for deletion is "Report copyright violation". It might be that I have turned on "AjaxQuickDelete" and "Quick Delete" under the Maintenance section of the gadget tab of my preferences. GB fan 13:46, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
Thanks! I had the first checked but not the second. I had done a find for words such as "vio" and "speedy" but didn't turn up anything. Anyway, having the second checked gives me the speedy options that you have pictured. Dismas|(talk) 14:56, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

WP:AIV

This is not an appropriate posting for WP:AIV. The editor accused is not a vandal and clearly has problems understanding English. That page is devoted purely for emergency purposes so that editors currently on rampages may have their account nuked, it is not for people to blow the whistle on ordinary inexperienced editors. --Stars of 85 (talk) 14:17, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

It is about a living person, and my attempts to find further references using the standard procedures have met with little success. (He is not to be confused with the well-known and recently-deceased Nyingma ngakpa or tantric specialist, Lama Tharchin Rinpoche.) Should we keep a wikipedia page bio for every lama on the planet? I'm not sure where to go with this, but since you declined deletion and the page's author didn't even post... Ogress smash! 03:34, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

Ogress, I declined your BLPPROD nomination because the article had a source that confirms at least one statement made about him when you added the BLPPROD. In the "Before nomination" section of the Proposed deletion of biographies of living people policy the first point says "Make sure the article contains no sources in any form, which support any statements made about the person." Since the article had a source it is ineligible for deletion using this process. Since you feel the article should be deleted you have two options, WP:PROD and WP:AFD. WP:PROD is similar to the BLPPROD process you used but it requires you to provide a reason that the article should be deleted. Then it will sit for 7 days and if no one objects an admin will delete it. The WP:AFD process is actually a discussion that last for 7 days and at the end an admin will determine if there is a consensus to delete the article. It is up to you what you do. -- GB fan 11:46, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. I'll look into the two options. I'm a long-time wikieditor (since 2004) but I'm pretty sure I've never done page deletions in that time so I appreciate the feedback! Ogress smash! 20:39, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

Question about creating new entry

Hi, I had created an entry back in July as a new contributor to Wikipedia and it was deleted. I am interested in individuals who have made interesting contributions in business or the arts, as they are areas that I have long followed and have written about from time to time for other websites. I wanted to create an entry about the founder of the company, but since an entry for an individual with the same name already exists, I wrote an entry about the company instead. Since the company entry was deleted (it was flagged as advertising, though that was not my intention), would it be possible for me to submit an entry about the company founder for consideration? I was going to do so, but saw the note that if recreating a page similar to the previously deleted page, I should first contact the deleting administrator. Your response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! Ecassin (talk) 22:28, 23 November 2014 (UTC)

You must be talking about Forrest Performance Group as that is the only deleted edits you have. I did not delete that article though, it was deleted by Randykitty. You can recreate an article about the company or start an article about the founder. If you create either on, you should ensure it meets our notability guidelines before creating it. I would suggest some reading before starting another article though.
I suggest you do not create the article in the mainspace. You should create the article in the draft area. This will allow you time to work on it with the opportunity for experienced editors to review it prior to publishing it. This also reduces the possibility of it getting quickly deleted. If you were to start the Forrest Performance Group article again, you would start it at Draft:Forrest Performance Group. To make it even easier you can use the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process. It will help you format the article and guide you through the creation process.
If you have any questions you can ask here, at the Teahouse or at the Help desk. -- GB fan 00:56, 24 November 2014 (UTC)

I read your subsequent comments elsewhere and as noted I accept your stated intent for your actions (which I still disagree with) Legacypac (talk) 19:06, 25 November 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for spelling out the email address. I had pointed them towards wmf:Contact us, but when they followed the link I had provided they obviously overlooked the email address. That was listed twice. In the large, clearly labelled box on the right. Yea, okay, so they didn't bother to follow my link. Why you delete my page?

I want to ask you why you deleted my following page? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunita_Dube

why was KAtie_nolan page deleted? IS wikipedia not a resource for famous people that people are googling? lourtney kardashian has a page!!! She's done NOTHIGN in this world... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmartin17 (talkcontribs) 20:44, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

There wasn't any indication of significance in the article. It said she hosted a show on Fox Sports 1, but her name is not mentioned in that article. The show she hosted, No Filter, does not have an article and isn't mentioned in the Fox Sports 1 article. It also goes on to say she was a digital correspondent for Crowd Goes Wild, but it also isn't even mentioned in the Fox Sports 1 article. The link for Crowd Goes Wild redirects to Fox Sports 1 even though that article does not mention the show. The deleted article had other things she is noted for, but the linked articles do not discuss her so they must not have been that significant. -- GB fan 21:25, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi I want to know why did you deleted this page ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohamed_Hassan

What shall I do to keep it ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Emadido (talkcontribs) 23:10, 29 November 2014 (UTC)

I deleted it again because it was deleted after a deletion discussion, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohamed Hassan. If you feel it was deleted in error you can discuss it with the admin that deleted it, Kurykh. If you are not satisfied after discussing it you can raise the issue at deletion review. I have protected it because you keep recreating it. -- GB fan 23:17, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
Look at my answer above to your question. It explains what you need to do. Don't restate it or the talk page. You need to talk to the admin who closed the deletion discussion. -- GB fan 03:22, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Patent nonsense

Yes, I know but i.m.o. this is a clear case of IAR. This user has been working and working and working on this. It has been declined three (3!) times—check their talk page at User talk:Magravat, and their last comment/promise. A clear case of wp:NOCLUE, and it really is patent nonsense. Any suggestion as how to proceed in such cases? - DVdm (talk) 18:00, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

If you reinstate the CSD, I will not decline it again and maybe the next admin is willing to ignore the rule. Or, you can start an MFD on it. -- GB fan 18:14, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
Good idea. Filed an MFD: [4], [5], [6], [7]. Let's see how it goes. Thanks and cheers - DVdm (talk) 18:51, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

I mean this redirect don't have any sense and discussion on this also don't have sense maybe evene it is worster, because it involved people unnecessarily. In this time they can edit articles. Eurohunter (talk) 05:26, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
I see two options on what you can do with the redirect. Let it stay, because as far as I can see it is not hurting anything. Nominate it for deletion using the WP:RFD process. My experience here on the English Wikipedia tells me both options will have the same outcome, it will not be deleted. -- GB fan 12:03, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
I can categorized this redirect like spam. You are interesting some artisis in music? Maybe I give you example? Eurohunter (talk) 18:33, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
Do what you want, but I don't think anything you do will end with the redirect being deleted. There is nothing more to talk about here unless you want to nominate it for deletion. -- GB fan 20:18, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

Surfdome Brand Page

Why was Surfdome Brand Page deleted ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ebrar (talkcontribs) 12:54, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

When I deleted it all it contained was "Why would you delete a companies page, it wasn't important to you but it could be to others." That is not an article, it contained nothing about the company. Prior to when I deleted it, another admin deleted because the article did not indicate what was significant or important about the company. -- GB fan 13:23, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

Deleted Page Cristian Schiopu

Good day to you, about the page you deleted(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C8%98chiopu_Cristian), mentioning about the lack of importance of the person that was written about, what should be done to prove you the importance of him? We wanted to write about a specific person known for his contribution in the legal system of the Republic of Moldova. A volunteer and a lawyer who has already helped society with a lot of activities which have the purpose of developing human rights in that country. A person that was eager to develop charity for orphanages and who is an event promoter of society as well. The quoted person is a founder of non-governmental organizations(that were to be written about soon) which were founded with noble ambitions and are meant to help people achieve their goals. Please consider telling the writer of the encyclopedia about what changes should be made so that both Wikipedia and the information posted should be relevant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Legaladvisorgroup (talkcontribs) 00:51, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

What you need to show is that there has been significant coverage of him in multiple reliable sources. From what I get from the three sources none of them provide significant coverage of Cristian Șchiopu. Two just mention quotes and the third, he won an essay competition and all three appear to originate from the same competition. None of that is anything significant, lots of students enter and win essay competitions. -- GB fan 11:49, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

Why have you deleted Rangdhang.com?

This page was very important for the world to know about online shopping trends in Pakistan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shahenshahkillz (talkcontribs) 12:43, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

The article did not say what was significant about it. It had no reliable sources to show that anyone had noticed the website and written about it. Your comment contesting the speedy deletion on the article talk page didn't help either as you appeared to say that the article should stay to help promote the business. Wikipedia is not here to promote any business. -- GB fan 13:29, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

Pages An In significant Harvey and Jeff Kopas

Hi, I am relatively new to wikipedia, the pages An Insignificant Harvey (which you just undeleted, thanks for that, no idea why it was deleted to begin with) and Jeff Kopas, were originally created by the film distributor and Publicist. Alas, I have attempted to update them myself and make them more compliant with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view. I THINK with the help of other users this has now been accomplished. Could you review please? I would like the pages cleaned up if they require it, so that the warning tags are removed. Thank-you kindly for any help you can lend.--Sapok2 (talk) 22:55, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

Where you need to start on An Insignificant Harvey is with references. There is one reference on the article right now. When I ope the source, I get a page in Korean that does not appear to have anything to do with the film. There might have been something there originally but now it goes to the main page rather than the specific page. -- GB fan 01:08, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

Happy New Year GB fan!

Brett Behm

Hi you deleted my page yesterday and it was still being created, it was late at night so I saved it so I could get some sleep and when I came back it was deleted. I tried getting ahold of you yesterday but you didn't answer so if you can help me now that would be great Littlecop81 (talk) 00:58, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

I was the fourth admin to delete the article in approximately 12 hours. Three out of the four times you were notified that the article was listed for speedy deletion because the article did not indicate what is significant about Brett Behm. While there were tags for references, there actually weren't any references. You were given very good advice by Fyddlestix on your talk page, but instead of following it you recreated the article in the main space again. I would suggest you start by reading [Wikipedia:Your first article]]. It does a very good job of explaining what is expected of articles. I would suggest you start your article in the draft namespace and use the articles for creation process. That way an experienced editor can review it and give you pointers on how to improve the article. Then when you have created an acceptable article it can be moved to the mainspace. -- GB fan 01:46, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

Please reconsider

Do you realize you are overriding another Admin who deleted the article as G11 after the discussion started? That the page is still going delete at the discussion that continued after the first deletion? That your declining to delete the page again goes against community consensus in 10 other closed discussions to delete 26 other pages with identically formed names plus various related templates and list articles? Now please reconsider. Legacypac (talk) 00:34, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

I did see that it was deleted as G11 and I disagree that the redirect is unambiguous advertising. There is no consensus to delete this particular redirect in the link you provided. Once the RFD is finished and if it continues the way it is going there will be consensus to delete and then it can be removed if it is ever recreated. If you disagree with my decision you can raise the issue at WP:AN. -- GB fan 00:51, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

That was the only warning they needed. Your warning was inappropriate as they made no further edits. It definately wasn't worth a level 3. Thank you

Thanks for the deletion of ShameOnYouSBY which make me be lazy to contribute anymore in English Wikipedia. Let me work it for a week, because I couldn't finish it for a day. I also want other Indonesian people to contribute for it. What do you mean attack page? Have you seen Interwiki? Anbu (talk) 01:00, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

I deleted it because it was obviously about a living person, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and was saying shame on you. There were no sources to explain why Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono should be shamed. You need to be very careful when creating articles that put living peopl in a negative light. You need to provide sources from the very first edit. -- GB fan 01:13, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

I told you that I haven't finish it, I will include references. I have included Interwiki, please see id:ShameOnYouSBY. You were hurried in deletion, it's new to be started. Wikipedia is free encyclopedia, and I know what I do. Anbu (talk) 03:05, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

And like I told you, if you are going to say something negative about a living person you need to provide reliable sources for that negative information from the edit where you introduce it. In this case you created an article that shed a negative light on a living person and did not provide any sources for that information. Even if you had included an interwikilink, it is not a source. I will say it again, if you want to create this article, provide a source with the very first edit. -- GB fan 11:15, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Why did you not give more time to me? You didn't need to delete it, just tag it. But if that topic isn't reasonable, you can delete it. The fast deletion is one of the factors which makes the Wikipedia users be lazy to contribute anymore. Anbu (talk) 13:09, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Unsourced negative information about living people is one of the things that are deleted immediately. You were given a warning that the article may be deleted 5 minutes after you made the initial edit. I deleted it 19 minutes after that. You may recreate an article if you feel that hashtag is notable but you must give a reliable source in your initial edit that creates the article or it is very likely to be deleted again. -- GB fan 13:22, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Joshua Bonehill-Paine

Cheers for that. I've not edited Wikipedia in years and even then it was really small things. I tried added some links, but sometimes adding them worked and sometimes the HTML code was wrong, and I had trouble fixing it. I thought it might be a good idea to expand the information box beneath the main photo with his known political parties and allegiances. I couldn't get that to work though. Someone was asking for a bit more background information on his personal life, so I added his parents in there. Would it be OK to add their names unsourced? I mean, there's only one Joshua Bonehill-Paine, so it stands to reason that the information is reliable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ed4444 (talkcontribs) 21:04, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

Ed4444, No it would not be OK to add his parents names unsourced. You need to have a reliable source for that information. Is there only one Joshua Bonehill-Paine? Or is there only one Joshua Bonehill-Paine that you know about? Please edit the article slowly and make sure the information you add is sourced to reliable sources. This article has had a lot of controversy so we need to be extra careful about the information and the sources. -- GB fan 21:10, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

Very well, but as regards to how many Joshua Bonehill-Paines there are, the records for births only record one, who was born in Yeovil in 1992; making him the same age as and being born in the same location as our Joshua Bonehill-Paine lives. There have been no other Joshua Bonehill-Paines born in the UK between 1837 and 2006. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/search/results?sourcecategory=birthsutf002c%20marriages%20utf0026%20deaths&collection=births%20utf0026%20baptisms&firstname=joshua&firstname_variants=true&lastname=bonehill-paine&region=great%20britain I think therefore that that somewhat narrows things down a bit as regards to the names of his parents are. Although it's not the sort of thing I'd rely on to put in a Wikipedia article, his Facebook account also gave his date of birth as 7th December, which I agree could be circumstantial. Agreed that he is a very controversial figure, which is why most of what I posted was sourced from newspaper articles and what he was saying on his own webpages (the latter of which I was careful not to present as truth). Ed4444 (talk) 21:41, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

I understand that you believe you have done enough research to show he is the only one, but we can not use that to add any information to the article because that takes us making a connection between two unrelated pieces of information. You can add the reliably sourced information back in. The only reason I removed all your edits was the duplication and the breaking of citations. -- GB fan 00:01, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of my Wikipedia entry, Andrew Farago

A fan started a Wikipedia entry about me yesterday, and it seems that you deleted it a few hours after information was posted.

I'm sure that I'm not the most impartial judge of whether I should have an entry on Wikipedia, but I've been the curator of San Francisco's Cartoon Art Museum for more than a decade (http://cartoonart.org/), have written several books (http://www.amazon.com/Andrew-Farago/e/B00JVVPKR2/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1), have an IMDB entry (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2253621/), am a member of the National Cartoonists Society (http://www.reuben.org/) and am head of the Northern California chapter of that organization.

I trust this will lead to the swift reinstatement of my Wikipedia entry.

Sincerely,

Andrew FaragoAndrewfarago (talk) 19:42, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

No this does not convince me that I should undelete the article. The article as it was when I deleted did not give anything that said you are significant. The article said you are the curator of the museum, married to someone who has an article and you wrote a book and the links above do not add anything to the article. The article had a primary source and a source that discusses the book, not you. I would be willing to make it a draft article if someone without a conflict of interest asked. What we need are reliable sources that are not associated with you that provide significant coverage of you. If you think I am wrong you can raise the issue at deletion review. -- GB fan 21:01, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the clarification, GB fan. My webpage lists many notable interviews discussing my work: https://andrewfarago.wordpress.com/articles-and-interviews/

There has been a "stub" placeholder for a Wikipedia entry for almost a decade, so I'd assumed that someone had taken the initiative to create a proper article.

Thanks for your attention, and I hope that someone will go through the proper channels and make the proper citations this time around.

This user has tried to ping you at Talk:Thunderbolt siren, but failed utterly because he is incompetent with the new Wiki markups that aren't old-school or in the interface's macros! Just double checking

I was going to tag this as A11 but, I see you already declined it saying "decline speedy delete, not a made up person", I was thinking more like an autobiography of this uploader who admits this is a self-portrait. Thought I'd poke you with it, in case one of us is missing something. Cheers, Mlpearc (open channel) 04:25, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

I don't see how a real person would ever fit in the A11 criterion. No one invented/coined/discovered them. If the article does not have a claim to significance then A7 works just fine for real people. In this article though there is a claim to significance and that is enough to survive both A7. That claim to significance would be enough to survive A11 if the first part applied. The article has been Prodded and that is appropriate or AFD. -- GB fan 11:49, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
This what I was thinking "or someone they know personally" A11. Mlpearc (open channel) 15:34, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
I see A11 having three pieces. The first piece is the part about being "invented/coined/discovered". The second part is that the person who wrote the article must be the person who "invented/coined/discovered" "or someone they know personally". The final part is that there is no claim to significance in the article. IMO a real person is not "invented/coined/discovered" by anyone. So all real people fail part one. If we include real people in A11 it would be redundant to A7. While my initial decline spoke of the made-up part of the criterion, I could have just as easily have said there is a claim to significance and that would have removed both A11 and A7. If I see a real person who does not have any claim to significance and is marked A11, I will delete A7. -- GB fan 17:33, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

Hello GB Fan, just wanted to ask whether you saw my comments on the talk page that had seven links to articles I believe are RS that establish the notability of the subject. I'm going to put the page though REFUND, and I request that if you still find it a bad article, nominate it for AFD and let the community improve it.-- Aronzak (talk) 04:48, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Leprino changes

I absolutely agree that there is a conflict of interest. But the changes made are just updates from the company corporate page. The previous LFC version was completely outdated and some of the information was wrong (a site that had since closed was listed).

The changes are not advertisements as you put it. It's just an update/cleaning up. I don't know why problems are arising as there is no subjective or opinionated elements to the changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LFC80211 (talkcontribs) 23:40, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Please note the nominations have been posted, and there are standard questions to be answered. Members of the community may also ask questions, so please monitor your nomination(s) until the comment period is concluded on the 18th. 3RR does not apply to fixing vandalism. User:Shookenlover was told yesterday why his edits were inappropriate [10] and he appeared to have relented on that article. He has resumed his vandalism again tonight. Plus there may very well be sockpuppetry involved. Harry Let us have speaks 20:27, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Correct - but I would argue that removing sourced material is vandalism therefore vandal = Harry Dirty Dog here. What I have inserted may be considered controversial but is not vandalism. Shookenlover (talk) 20:29, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
It does not appear that either one of you are vandalising the article using the definition at WP:Vandalism. You both think you are improving the article. -- GB fan 20:32, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
Given this editor's very short history on Wikipedia which has constituted almost exclusively of edits that could be construed as unhelpful (including creating several inappropriate pages), despite having been warned and receiving a short block, and having been told exactly why his edits on Coffee 1 were inappropriate, and apparently agreeing since we left it last night with his as the last edit which is the one you have now restored (thank you) I guess I disagree that his aim is to improve the article. You can only AGF so far. Harry Let us have speaks 20:52, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
I guess we will just have to disagree on this, but it looks like others disagree with you also at WP:AIV. -- GB fan 21:11, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
So what is the point of warnings, which were given with reasons clearly explained (and those reasons are according to WP policy) if there is then no sanction when the editor disregards both those warnings and what other parties assumed was an agreement as to a way forward, and once again restores OR in an aricle. If inserting OR into an article (repeatedly) isn't vandalism, why is there a warning for it? Not asking to be difficult, just trying to clarify. I have never encountered this before when simply trying to ensure that a very clear WP policy is followed. Thanks. Harry Let us have speaks 21:17, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
It is not vandalism as another admin explained at WP:AIV, but it can be tendentious editing which is still sanctionable, just not vandalism and the place to raise that is at WP:ANI. -- GB fan 21:21, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
I suppose the history of this editor (including removing speedies having been warned not to and other obviously unhelpful edits) led me to assume that the edits were not being made in good faith, which they have to be to avoid it being vandalism. If I was wrong not to AGF, then I apologise. Harry Let us have speaks 21:43, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Redirecting teams to league articles

Hey GB Fan, I noticed that instead of deleting a few team articles that I proposed for deletion (South Dakota Gold, Bluff City Reign, and Chattanooga Steamers), you redirected them instead. I would like to let you know it has been demonstrated that its NOT the usual way that non-notable team articles are dealt with. First off, several WP:RFD discussions have deleted redirects like that in the past. The rationale being WP:RFD#DELETE #10, which states: "If the redirect could plausibly be expanded into an article, and the target article contains virtually no information on the subject." You can refer to WP:REDLINK for more information on why this is a good thing. A few RfD examples that I have in recent memory include Atlanta Experience, Carolina Cheetahs, and The rest of the ABA redirects. On the converse, deletion discussions on teams have repeatedly shown that the team's article is deleted instead of redirected to the league. There are way too many examples of this to count. I would recommend that you reverse your decision to redirect those teams, and instead delete them as an expired PROD. Thank you. Tavix |  Talk  20:17, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

Let me see if I understand what you are saying. You proposed South Dakota Gold be deleted because it is a "Basketball team with no assertion of notability." This tells me you believe the basketball team South Dakota Gold is not notable and should not have an article. Above you say there should not be a redirect either because the "redirect could plausibly be expanded into an article." So if the team is not notable enough for an article how can it plausibly be expanded into an article? -- GB fan 22:46, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
You missed the second part of that point: "the target article contains virtually no information on the subject." It doesn't help anyone by redirecting to a league article that gives virtually no information on the subject. It's better off keeping it a redlink. Tavix |  Talk  23:46, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
I didn't miss the second point, it doesn't make any difference, the two points are connected by "and" That means both must be true. The redirect could plausibly be expanded into an article, and the target article contains virtually no information on the subject. The way it is written both points should be looked at independently and if both are true, then it shouldn't be redirected. In this case, the first part isn't true so there is no reason to even consider the second point. Above you directed me to WP:REDLINK for reasons why redlinks are good. When I went and looked the first line of WP:REDNOT tells me this shouldn't be a redlink. It says: "Do not create red links to articles that are not likely to be created and retained in Wikipedia" So a redirect is better than a redlink because this way you at least have some information. -- GB fan 00:24, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi, GB Fan, I reported the user at WP:UAA because I think this account needs to be deleted altogether instead of simply suspended. Carwile2 *Shoot me a message* 16:38, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

Carwile2 we do not delete accounts. Account can be blocked, they can be renamed, they can never be deleted. Of those the only one that can happen as the result of a report at WP:UAA is blocking. I just happened to see your request, but since the user was already blocked the request was quickly deleted. There is nothing more to do here as the account is blocked. -- GB fan 16:55, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

Removal of DB9 on Sacred Revolution

When you removed the DB9 from Sacred Revolution you stated that the "artist has an article". I don't see an article for the artist. I see an article for the conferences where the series of seven different artists were recorded live. Only five of those artists have articles. Candi Pearson and Steve Fee do not. So it's not entirely clear that you understand the topic. I have moved onto the prod stage, but don't assume that because there's no redlink associated with the artist parameter that the article meets that criteria. Have a great day. 208.81.212.222 (talk) 00:45, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Ok, so not every artist on the album has am article, some do and that is enough to survive WP:A9. -- GB fan 00:52, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Not correct. The criteria is that "An article about a musical recording that has no corresponding article about its recording artist". This article does not have an article about the artist in the infobox. It's a poorly crafted article and should not be by "Passion" piped to an article about "Passion Confereces". Feel free to learn: Template:Infobox album. If you want to reject it for a made-up reason, feel free to admit you may have some doubts, but lying is unbecoming an admin. Oh, and thanks for pining me or adding a {{tb}} on my talk page. How'd you get nominated? 208.81.212.222 (talk) 01:38, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Difference of opinion, no lying involved as lying implies I am saying something untrue and that I know it is untrue and am attempting to deceive you. I believe that having artists on an multiple artist album with articles is enough to survive WP:A9. If you do not believe that, you are entitled to your opinion as I am entitled to mine. Obviously you noticed that I replied to you, so I guess I didn't need to ping you or leave you a talk back. If you want to continue this conversation you can stop with the personal attacks. -- GB fan 02:03, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
So good communication is optional if you think someone is watching your talk page. There's no personal attack at all, simply an observation of your laziness an unwillingness to be forthright and communicate in a cooperative manner. If it stings, take it as a wound from a friend not an attack, in other words, WP:AGF. 208.81.212.222 (talk) 16:47, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Declined speedy deletion of DOUGLAS NELSON

Hi, I noticed that you declined speedy deletion on DOUGLAS NELSON. I was wondering if this was because I used the wrong criteria (which is the case - G6 would have been more applicable) or because you feel that the redirect should stay? I'm happy to start a discussion on RFD if you feel that would be more appropriate, but I just thought I'd check what your reasoning was first?--Hazel77 talk 16:17, 19 March 2015 (UTC)

I declined it because it is not speedy deleteable. You tagged it with a WP:R3 tag. That tag is only used for redirect that are "implausible typos or misnomers" It is plausible that someone may type DOUGLAS NELSON looking for the article. WP:G6 is not appropriate either as it is only for "Uncontroversial maintenance" and this does not meet anything in the list under that criterion. There isn't any speedy deletion criterion that applies to this redirect. It is a redirect from a different capitalisation. If you feel the redirect should be deleted RFD is the only way to go. I do not see any need to delete the redirect. -- GB fan 20:10, 19 March 2015 (UTC)

They have been messing with a few today. The IP talk page with conditions Drmies set is here but Drmies hasn't been around. Test edit question

Hi, I noticed that you declined a speedy deletion request I'd made alleging a test edit. I think I might be misinterpreting how broad a test edit is. Could you provide some insight into the threshold for use of the G2 CSD? I'd like to continue reviewing AfCs but I want to make sure I'm crystal-clear on CSD policy. (Edit: for reference, the page in question was Draft:Peter J. Gotti.) Thanks, wia (talk) 13:21, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

For me to delete something as a test page, I would have to think the creator was trying to test some function within the software. In this case, Draft:Peter J. Gotti, it appears that the creator is writing a draft article. the article on John Gotti says he has a son Peter. Everything to me points to this being a good faith attempt at creating a draft article. It is in no way ready for the mainspace but it also does not appear to be a test. -- GB fan 13:32, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Okay, so "test edit" should be interpreted in a strictly technical sense. Got it, thanks! wia (talk) 13:33, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

I do not look at who tags articles for speedy deletion. I evaluate the article to see whether I feel it meets the criteria. If it does I delete it, if it doesn't I don't delete. I will not promise to stay away from articles you tag for deletion. -- GB fan 17:20, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
OK. That's fair.
I'm concerned that you don't correctly understand the criteria for various artist collections correctly. Perhaps you could open a discussion on the talk page where the criteria is defined to seek consensus. 208.81.212.222 (talk) 17:32, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Since you have the concern, you should open the discussion so you can explain what your concern is. If I opened the discussion all I could say is you have a concern. The place to open the discussion if you think it is needed is at WT:CSD. Before you do that you might want to think about this. Should we err on the side of not speedy deleting an article and having it sit 7 days file a prod or afd or should we err on the side of deleting an article that shouldn't be deleted? What does it hurt to gave that article in the encyclopedia for 7 more days? -- GB fan 18:51, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

I don't know if the killing meets GNG. I do know that the article I deleted was not about a mass killing. It was about a single person and there was no indication that he was significant in any way. The way the article read, one person died. If you feel an article about this incident is notable, you can write the article. -- GB fan 10:45, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi GB fan

Thanks for deleting the above page. I nominated it for deletion per A1 but amazingly, you deleted it per A7. Why do you think the subject of the article is eligible for A7 and why do you think A1 does not applies? Thanks! Wikigyt@lk to M£ 13:57, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

The article had an infobox. In that infobox it gave a nationality, an alma mater and what Parry Teasdale was known for. There is enough there to understand we are talking about a person, the country they are from, what college they went to and what they do for a living. This would probably be enough to find more information about them. So based on that A1 does not apply. Since the article appears to be about a real person and there was no claim to significance, A7 applies. -- GB fan 14:04, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
I don't think only infobox is enough to pass A1 but my concern is on your use of A7. A7 does not applied by any measure or standard. The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines. In addition, it is irrelevant whether the claim of notability within the article is not sufficient for the notability guideline. The above article does makes credible claim of significance. I found enough significant coverages in multiple reliable sources to meet WP:GNG. I found this one, Experimental Television Center, this one, this interview, this book, another book, this one, this New York times and this Roll Magazine] to mention few. I know you cannot be right at all time and the only perfect man is the one who does nothing. Sorry that I challenged your use of admin tool, you are one of the admins I often dream to collaborate with. Regards! Wikigyt@lk to M£ 15:12, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
I see what the difference is. You went searching for a claim to significance, I didn't. A7 says, "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance." The article itself did not make a credible claim to significance. There is no requirement to search to see if you can find a claim to significance, the article itself has to make that claim. Since you were able to use the information on the page to find information that is another indication that A1 does not apply. That criterion says, "If any information in the title or on the page, including links, allows an editor, possibly with the aid of a web search, to find further information on the subject in an attempt to expand or edit it, there is enough context that A1 is not appropriate." -- GB fan 15:54, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
I had said here earlier that my major concern is your use of A7. You said and I quote "There is no requirement to search to see if you can find a claim to significance", then why does this guideline becomes necessary before the nomination of an article for deletion? I agree that I was suppose to expand the article in the first instance rather than applying A1 but have no idea of how A7 applies either. For example, "He is known for Aerodynamics and "He is known for his eaten habit" , which of these is a credible claim of significance?. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 18:04, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
To answer your last question first, neither of those two are a credible claim to significance. There are lots of people that are known to their friends/colleagues/students for their knowledge of aerodynamics, most of them are not significant. Some possible claims to significance would be, She won an award for her work in aerodynamics. Their song was was a top 5 hit. His book is a NY Times bestseller. A7 applied to that article because there were no sources and no claim to significance in the article I saw. WP:BEFORE is tied to the WP:AFD process not WP:CSD. The instructions on what admins are supposed to do when evaluating speedy deletion nominations is at WP:CSD#Procedure for administrators. -- GB fan 19:16, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of ACTIV Financial

Hello GB fan,

I was creating this page this morning and already spent time on the InfoBox and categories before going to lunch break before completing the article. How can I get my source code back now in order to avoid starting from scratch now? I now understand I cannot create a page, even for a few hours, if it does not abide by WK's rules but as it is my first time I find it brutal to restart from scratch again.

Thank you, Erwan huelgoat (talk) 14:27, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Erwan huelgoat, You can find the article at User:Erwan huelgoat/ACTIV Financial. With it being in your userspace you can work on it with little chance of it getting deleted. -- GB fan 14:37, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Hey! Isn't it a conflict of interest for a Green Bay fan to decline a speedy about a former Green Bay player?!?!? That deserves a

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

LOL, I'm completely joking of course. I was going to PROD the article, but I decided to double-check WP:NSPORT and realized all that's required is for someone to have played a single game in the NFL to be considered notable. Seems like too low of a threshold, in my opinion, but if that's the general policy I wont bother nominating it again. I'm sure you didn't even realize he was a former player before coming across this article, given that he played in a grand total of 3 games many years ago. -War wizard90 (talk) 03:53, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

No conflict of interest, GreenBay players arem orenotable than players from any other team. Lol, but seriously, I didn't recognize the name at all. I agree with you that playing in a single game is to low of a threshold. I know I wouldn't object to a prod on the article but based on guidelines the article does not qualify for speedy deletion. -- GB fan 09:01, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Padlock symbol for Rape jihad

Hi GB Fan. I was hoping would it be possible for you to add the protected padlock symbol to Rape:Jihad so users don't get confused about why they can't edit? Thanks, Banak (talk) 20:46, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

I marked the page because it was a useless user page created by a vandal. On the Wiki project that I volunteer for, those usually get speedied. As I should have remembered, trying to persuade you people into deleting useless user pages is a fool’s errand, so I’ll just leave you alone. --66.190.99.112 (talk) 15:14, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

You are right that it is a useless userpage as the editor will probably never log back into that account. Different projects have different rules and this page is not hurting anything and does not meet any of this project's speedy deletion criterion. There are other admins that would probably delete this if you ask them to. -- GB fan 15:35, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

I have created it using the rationale in your speedy deletion nomination. -- GB fan 00:43, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi GB fan. I see that you tagged User:Johnatmicronews/sandbox1 for speedy deletion per WP:U5 -- and it was subsequently deleted. Though I don't know if you saw that I had opened an MFD on this at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Johnatmicronews/sandbox1. Of course, your tag was absolutely correct. I might have deleted it that way myself. (I had salted one of these articles in March.) But I wanted to establish a discussion so that any future actions would be easier. Which I predict may be necessary, especially because of this ever-expanding list of micronations and this message on my talk page. So I'd prefer the other one wasn't tagged and the MFD completed. How new words are adopted? Ioninton

I am curious on how new words get adopted & what the criteria is that allows them to be posted on a page. The word Ioniton was deleted because it was considered an "invented" word. How do terms like Twerking & Selfie make it on a Wiki Page? Those are just as obviously "Invented" words. Until those words made it out of a small regional or social group to reach a larger audience, they were words with no definition. Someone had to be the first to post those words & make a Wiki page. Why were those words accepted & Ioniton not?

What I had posted was a completely legitimate word in South Eastern & Central Florida. It is a word that is also spreading to other areas as a name for a device that has the definition I had provided. It has been around for about 6 or 7 years now, & only recently been gaining more usage due to a local company that has been developing & selling these units. Harbor Freight carries a line of devices similar that in this area fall under the generic term Ioniton. If these products are being sold in stores, on web sites, & through sales people. Why is it not allowed to be posted as a word on Wiki? You tube has many DIY types of units that would fall under the term Ioniton by the definition provided. Instead of having a name linked with these devices many people are still using the description of the product. I figured having a Wiki page would allow people to start putting a consistent name to these devices so everyone understands what they are instead of just describing them.

Just like taking a self portrait was a description that eventually became called a selfie. A girl shaking her arse on a dance floor became Twerking. Words that were coined or invented to shorten a description of something & instead gave it a name.

Since there is a segment of the population already using Ioniton & many of these devices are already in mainstream use, I don't understand why there can't be a wiki page for them. At some point, every word is coined or invented.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by SunBlaidd (talkcontribs) 03:59, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia does not have pages to help incorporate words into the main stream. Wikipedia articles are for things that are already in the mainstream. We would need to have reliable sources that use the word and explain what it needs. The article you wrote had no reliable sources and I could not find any reliable sources. Also your statement on the talk page when you contested the speedy deletion did not help your cause, "As such it has not made it's way into the general language of the U.S. Having this page helps incorporate the word into the main stream." -- GB fan 12:01, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

RfA nomination

Hi, I saw you reverted votes at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/TeaLover1996 and I just wanted to say that I am sorry for voting to early, did not realise it was not transcluded. Also the editor nominated me at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Qed237, without my knowledge, and even if I might actually pass (have not looked at all requirements though) I am not very interested at the moment to become an admin. I want to focus more on my own editing first, creating more articles and learn more about different processes. Is it possible to just make it "disappear" like it never happened or do I have to go through with this now? And will this affect my chances in the future? Thanks in advance for any response. QED237 (talk) 23:08, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

No problem. You should always check WP:RFA to see if the RFA is transcluded. I have deleted the RFA they created and let them know why I did it. -- GB fan 23:18, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Thank you very much. A final question, if you dont mind. Why had the page not been transcluded? It just takes some time or does someone have to do something manually (nominator or an admin)? QED237 (talk) 23:20, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
It takes someone to actually do it. There are only two people who should transclude the nomination, the nominee or the nominator. Someone can create their RFA and work on it for a while before they are ready to start the process. -- GB fan 23:25, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Okay I understand. When I feel ready myself I will take a close look at the requirements and procedures to make sure I get it right. Thank you again for all your help. QED237 (talk) 23:37, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

Sicario

Actually this is how dab pages work, at least in any other language version of Wikipedia. Im am doing this since 11 years and never had such a ridiculous discussion about that. A dab page should lead the reader to the relevant articles for a word with multiple meanings. The most important meaning of this specific one is that it is the Spanish word for contract killer. It is simply a synonym that is not only used in Spanish texts but also in other languages. For example the word / dab page was linked here from dozens of other articles in the meaning "contract killer". For a reader it would be very helpful to highlight this meaning and direct them to the contract killing article. --NiTen (talk) 13:31, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

Well it might be the way other language projects do it but it is not the way it is done on the English Wikipedia. Every entry on the page must have a blue linked article that discusses the term that the DAB page is about. -- GB fan 13:34, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
Also thanks for the link, I added the wikitionary link to the page. -- GB fan 13:36, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not the place to advertise anything. You can put some information about yourself on the userpage to let other editors know things about you. If it reads like you are promoting something or someone it will get deleted. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and everything needs to center around that, If you want to advertise there are plenty of places on the web where you can advertise for free. -- GB fan 10:43, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

I guess you do not understand what Wikipedia is. Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia and everyone who edits here should be helping to build it. Wikipedia is not the place for you to have a page about yourself or your business. Wikipedia is welcoming to people that are here to help build the encyclopedia and if you want to help, please do but do not come here to create a way to help you make money. -- GB fan 14:10, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

I guess I do not see any argument going on, I see a discussion about how this website works. You can put information on your userpage, but when you write things like "which is why you deserve a person who is willing to truly meet with these companies and suggest only the best." you are advertising your services as a debt counselor and that is not allowed. -- GB fan 15:24, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

Redirect

Do whatever you want, but remember simply keeping a pro-Pakistan wiki redirect won't change anything in real world. I don't care about some redirect as long as terrorists are bumped. Some people in WP will support them with the excuse WP:RNEUTRAL. Cheers, happy administrating. I am not interested in those redirects anymore, Real life is a bigger problem than Wiki life. I have seen some Wp administrators simply give warning message during edit war without trying to find out which side is right. We need more administrators as the number of users are increasing and it's becoming difficult for few to keep a track on them. Bollywood movies are regularly vandalized and as they have few page watchers, and the edit is not corrected for a long time. Especially those movies released more than 5 years ago--C E (talk) 17:45, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

"India occupied Kashmir" is one time acceptable but calling a recognized terrorist movement by United Nations, US, EU as "Independence Movement" or "Freedom Struggle" is clear vandalism. Do you have such kind of redirects for article of "9/11 attacks"? because same terrorists have done 2001 Indian Parliament attack, 2008 Mumbai Attacks in India. Maybe, as it is happening in India it deserve to call "Freedom struggle", different rule for Western nations.--Human3015 Say Hey!! • 22:11, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
It is not clear vandalism. If you think the redirects should be deleted you will need to follow the procedures at WP:RFD. There are no speedy deletion criterion that apply. -- GB fan 22:19, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
"Insurgency in Kashmir" is called as "Freedom struggle" only by terrorists. You may not know depth of this subject. Jaime Herrera Beutler

First off, I've been editing Jaime Herrera Beutler for years.

Second, you wrongly accuse me of vandalism on this page. What part of Wikipedia:Vandalism had to do with my post? My edits were 100% factual and abide by all Wikipedia policies. How are they vandalism? Be specific.

Further, GB fan, you deleted my update to the page that Jaime Herrera Beutler is on the United States House Committee on Appropriations. Why? You're either being thoughtless in your reverts or ironically committing vandalism yourself as you A) Did not assume good faith; B) Committed blanking; or even C) Committed user talk page vandalism by illegitimately editing my Talk page over this nonsense issue.

I'll assume good faith and give you the benefit of the doubt, so unless you can offer compelling reasons on how BOTH of my edits were vandalism, as you claimed, I'll rightfully put them back. If you revert them again I'll accuse you of vandalism. If you keep being unreasonable or vandalizing, I'll have to escalate this and the moderators will decide that my two new pieces of content should stay on the page. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CharlieHatch64 (talkcontribs) 02:29, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

It was at the end of my day yesterday and I over reacted when I saw the Chicken Fucker piece. It was not vandalism. The committee assignment does belong on the page and I have replaced it. I think I now added my source correctly. I am new to Wikipedia, and don't know if I did it right. Wikipedia is pretty particular about sources and what is and is not considered a reliable source. I took a quick glance at your source and what I saw did not look like a reliable source. The page I linked to talks about what is and is not a reliable source. Also, Wikipedia generally reflects what secondary sources say about the article subject, so if others generally say "commit" vs "stage", that's what the article should say. It specifically on multiple occasions supports my edits. Do I need to give exact quotes from the document. What else do I have to do to get my edit through without getting reverted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by USAismisunderstood (talkcontribs) 13:28, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. I added a discussion to the operation northwoods talk page. Please let me know if there is anything else I need to do. Have a good day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by USAismisunderstood (talkcontribs) 13:50, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Please read through the documents. The wikipedia page does not accurately sum them up. Also, what editor were you talking about. — Preceding unsigned comment added by USAismisunderstood (talkcontribs) 14:40, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

I am talking about you interpreting the primary source. -- GB fan 14:43, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi GB. Thanks for keeping a constant eye on this article. Mizabot does not appear to be working on the talk page. I don't understand the first thing about automatic archiving - perhaps you could look into it. Otherwise manual archiving might be just as effective, I have had this page on my WL for years. Cheers, --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:00, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

I am not sure why it wasn't archiving. Looking at the parameters, it should have archived four of the sections. I have archived all but the latest section. -- GB fan 11:03, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

Your revert of an editor's request for closure

Hi, GB fan. How can this be block evasion? When the community unbans someone they are free to edit from any IP. Blocks are directed at a particular human being, and with the lifting of the ban this no longer applies. 109.155.12.254 (talk) 18:20, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Maybe you should ask Mr. Stradivarius why he blocked the editor for abusing multiple accounts. -- GB fan 19:54, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
I did, and he just reverted me. If you ask him he may listen. 109.155.12.254 (talk) 12:28, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Can you show me where the ban on Vote (X) for Change was lifted? -- GB fan 12:37, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
There's something about this on Jimbotalk:[12]. 109.155.12.254 (talk) 13:52, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
There is nothing in that diff that says the ban on Vote (X) for Change was lifted. -- GB fan 13:55, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
You have to look at the whole story. Isn't there a link to earlier discussion? 109.155.12.254 (talk) 14:04, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
I don't know if there is an earlier discussion. You are the one saying the ban has been lifted. Show me where the ban was lifted. -- GB fan 14:10, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
I don't have a horse in this race. If you clink on link [1] above it brings up a discussion on Jimbotalk entitled "Man -v- machine". At the beginning of that section there is a link to an earlier discussion. Did you click on that link? 109.155.12.254 (talk) 14:20, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Yes and there is nothing there that says Vote (X) for Change's ban was lifted. If you can't provide something that says the ban was lifted we are done here. -- GB fan 14:25, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
I have blocked the IP for block evasion. It's standard MO for Vote (X) for Change to waste the time of others with unfounded claims about their ban and blocks of their socks. --NeilN talk to me 14:32, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
Note NeilN's allegation of bad faith above unbacked by any evidence. His allegation of block evasion is equally misconceived. To answer your query, isn't

The unblock was followed by a discussion and the consensus was unban.

good enough?

No. -- GB fan 15:05, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello,

I am wondering why you deleted the New Hampshire Wing Civil Air Patrol page. I am thinking of remaking it if that is fine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adm.tang (talkcontribs) 19:53, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

Adm.tang, I deleted it because the the article creator and only editor, Topboy 111 blanked it. They created the page and then less than an hour later blanked it. When the creator and only significant editor blanks an article we take that as a deletion request. If you would like the content that was in the article when I deleted it, I will restore it to your userspace so you can look at it and use it if you want to. Let me know what you want to do. -- GB fan 20:04, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

Alright, I would like too see it. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adm.tang (talkcontribs) 22:32, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

I have restored it. It is available at User:Adm.tang/New Hampshire Wing Civil Air Patrol 2 since you had already created User:Adm.tang/New Hampshire Wing Civil Air Patrol. -- GB fan 00:01, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

Urgent admin action required

Hello GB Fan.

Sorry to disturb you, but there is an issue that requires immediate admin action. 88.193.158.85 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) keeps adding unsourced content to Türkvizyon Song Contest‎ and Türkvizyon Song Contest‎ 2015, despite being advised to provide a source. I have acted in good faith and checked the internet to see if there are sources to verify their addition, just in case they do not know how to add citation. Alas there are none. I have reverted/rollbacked their edits and issued vandalism warnings to the IP, but they keep reverting such actions - a total of 8 times now. The IP has been reported to AIV and I have requested semi-protection to be placed on both articles. But I feel it is all for nothing as they continue to vandalise the articles. Is there anything you can do to help? Much regards, Wes Mouse | T@lk 12:16, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

I think the IP has got the message finally as they have now ceased editing. What a relief! Wes Mouse | T@lk 13:01, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
Good to see it has been handled. -- GB fan 14:02, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

AVS Video Editor

Dear GB Fan,

You have deleted the article AVS Video Editor referring to the discussion dated 2010 Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AVS Video Editor (2nd nomination). However, the fact is the new article was not a simple recreation from the previously existed page, it was a completely new article with another content that meets the wikipedia guidelines of notability and has good references to reliable sources. The article was created through Articles for Creation page, was reviewed, approved and moved from Drafts page to Articles by a wikipedia editor. Please see Portal:Poland/New article announcements AVS Video Editor started on 2015-06-15, score: 20. Please specify why the article was deleted now and what is needed to recreate it. NeviRom 14:00, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner on this. The deletion discussion, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AVS Video Editor (2nd nomination), was closed 4 months ago on 17 February 2015, not in 2010. I looked at earlier deleted versions and there did not appear to be any significant improvements from the version that was deleted after that discussion. -- GB fan 13:19, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for the answer. I do not quite understand what is wrong with the article. The content of the page is now completely different: there is a good description of the interface of the program, service it provides and the process of the development of the program (its history) since 2003. Concerning the sources, there are published books, journals and university researches. The editor who approved the article and moved it from draft space to articles has not given any recommendations on the improvement of the page. Please recommend what I need to do to improve the article so it can be recovered, if possible.NeviRom 13:00, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
First you should talk to the admin that closed the deletion discussion, Missvain. In that explain what has changed since the deletion discussion. If that discussion does not satisfy your concerns then bext you can raise your concerns at deletion review. -- GB fan 13:52, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

Your mistaken block of me instead of the other editor

I accept your apology but my previously clean block record is now spoiled. Could you not expunge it altogether, rather than just cancel it and draw a strikeout line through the incorrect block notification? -- Alarics (talk) 12:59, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

It is possible to delete the block log from public view but it is not allowed, see Wikipedia:Revision_deletion#Log_redaction for explanation. You can remove the block notice from your talk page or if you want I can remove it but it will be forever in the page history. -- GB fan 13:17, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

Jose de Segovia Barron

Hi GB Fan,

Maybe I wasn't able to prove the relevance of this writer but please let me try again saying that there's no person with such relevance on Protestant community in Spain than Jose de Segovia Barron. He is probably the Spanish alternative of CS Lewis on United Kingdom or Francis Schaeffer on United States and it's also relevant for English speaking community because he studied and he is even teaching in Welwyn, UK. Why if Lewis and Shaeffer has a Wikipedia page, this Spanish writer can't start its page?

What about a more structure page like this?:

hat you have presented here and in the deleted article has no sources for any of the information. The most important part of any article is the sources. We determine what subjects are notable by the sources. If sources that are reliable and independent of the subject of the article have written about the subject in a significant manner then we say the subject is notable. Without any sources it is hard to say he is notable. -- GB fan 00:09, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

I see, thank you!

Following Liz suggestion, I will start creating a new edition of the page including references and sources, as a DRAFT - so it can be leverage before it's pushed online. Thank you, Pablo

Hi. No worries about this. Personally, I would leave the IP comments there as evidence of the socking, but it's your call. They're certainly drawing attention to themselves, if nothing else! Cordless Larry (talk) 13:28, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

I left a message on their original accounts and on the sock account's talk page telling them what they need to do. The best response right now is to Revert them, Block them and then Ignore them. The evidence of socking is in their contributions list and all the IPs are documented on the sock puppet investigation page. -- GB fan 13:33, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
Apologies for this. I don't have much experience of the sockpuppet investigation procedure, and obviously posted in the wrong place. Many thanks for fixing this, and all your help with this case. Cordless Larry (talk) 12:01, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
Not a problem, mistakes happen. He is a persistent person, I guess we will see if this discourages him. -- GB fan 12:05, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

credemographics.com articles

Are you planning on doing further work on the articles? They were brought up at RSPAM. I'm not seeing any encyclopedic value in what's there, just SOAP value for credemographics. --Ronz (talk) 15:35, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

No I am not planning on doing any work, but I do not see these articles as meeting the necessary level to speedy delete them. -- GB fan 15:36, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll put them up for proposed deletion in a few days then if no one can demonstrate they're notable. --Ronz (talk) 15:44, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Sorry.

I apologize for tagging all those article for speedy deletion. I thought that anytime it is too short that it needs to be tagged, but now I realize that I should only tag it if they fail to indicate the importance of the subject. I will keep that in mind as I continue. I appreciate you notifying me about this because I don't want to waste your time by making you have to look through articles that are perfectly find. Thank you. 99.53.112.186 (talk) 17:34, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello,

Please help in restoring:

Arguing against the deleting of the page Ulrich Oehmen

I noticed that you have deleted the page that i created about Ulrich Oehmen, saying that the page was negative and not supported by proper referencess, that's odd, becuase while giving credit to Ulrich Oehmen for the quality of his photography I have referenced TV and newspaaer articles from Peru, from ROmania and from USA regarding his controversial role in the bodybuilding community.

I invite you to check better the sources that i referenced. Among them there is even an interview where Ulrich Oehmen confirms his activity in details. So I frankly don't understand what part of my article was not duly referenced!!!

Interview to Ulrich Oehmen: http://www.edgeboston.com/index.php?ch=news&sc=news&sc3=&id=80327&pf=1

PLease elaborate how this isn't duly supported and referenced. I ask that the page i created is put back online. Thanks

Billy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Billy.reaper (talkcontribs) 11:48, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

I will not restore the article. You made claims of illegal activities by Oehmen. While there was a list of sources, those kinds of claims must have specific high quality sources as inline citations so that it is easy to verify that the information is supported. You need to read our policy about biographies of living persons, WP:BLP. You shold also read about creating your first article, WP:FIRST. That page gives a lot of good advice about how to write articles. If you still disagree, the next step is to take it to Deletion Review, WP:DRV. -- GB fan 12:19, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Why did you reverted Sindh University Alumni Template?

You have reverted Sindh University Alumni Template , which is uncomprehensible. Plz don't revert it because it only adds a image of the relevant template. Kindly give an autentic reason behind your revert, I think its illogical to revert it.--Jogi don (talk) 10:12, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

I reverted it because the image you are adding to that template is not a free image. Unfree images can only be used on articles and then only in limited circumstances. Non free images can never be used as you are trying to used this one. -- GB fan 10:27, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi, most of the references on the page have a "Missing or empty |title=" tag. Is there any way of fixing this? Thanks. 109.255.120.83 (talk) 20:15, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Look at the first citation, you will see a line that says |title=Who We Are That is the code that gets rid of that message. You will need to look at each citation and determine what the appropriate title is and add |title=appropriate title to the citation. -- GB fan 20:22, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Gerard Lima

I am wondering why the page I created Gerard Lima was deleted. It is a credible page containing 100% real information with media coverage supporting the page. I have seen other pages for people who have less information and credibility stay up on your site. What would it take for my article to remain up and not get deleted. Is there a way for me to appeal the decision and have the article put back up?--Gerad Lima (talk) 16:01, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

I deleted the page because there was no indication what is significant about you. Starting your own production company so that you can write, produce, direct and act in your own movie means nothing unless it is noticed by reliable sources. Some page you should read:
If you can confirm that you have read these and still think you meet all the requirements, I will restore the article as a draft and then others will review it before it is restored as an article. There is a way to appeal the decision. You can ask for a review at Wikipedia:Deletion review. -- GB fan 19:47, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
