April fools

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

Please carefully read this information:

A community discussion has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The specific details of these sanctions are described here.

Broadly, general sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

It's fine, I get that it's April 1st, but just mind what you're joking around about. People are literally dying by the hundreds and thousands. My main concern with this is that creating the "joke" AfD also triggers a bot to flag the article with an enormous, entirely serious looking, "this article is being considered for deletion" banner, and that's a really bad look for Wikipedia. Have fun but be careful. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 00:53, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

April 2020

A page you created has been nominated for deletion because it is a biography of a living person that is entirely negative in tone and has unsourced content, according to section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

Do not create articles about living people that are entirely negative in tone and unsourced. Wikipedia has a policy of verifiability and any negative information we use must be reliably sourced, and our articles must be balanced. Negative, unreferenced biographies of living people, along with attack pages, are not tolerated by Wikipedia, and users who create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy may be blocked from editing. A page you created has been nominated for deletion as an attack page, according to section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

Do not create pages that attack, threaten, or disparage their subject or any other entity. Attack pages and files are not tolerated by Wikipedia, and users who create or add such material may be blocked from editing. PCHS-NJROTC (Messages)Have a blessed day. 13:26, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Donald Trump (3rd nomination), a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Donald Trump (3rd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Donald Trump (3rd nomination) during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. PCHS-NJROTC (Messages)Have a blessed day. 13:49, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

April Fools

Hi KAP03, Inre to this - Meh no worries,
Unfortunately his article (and others related to it) have been nominated so many times it's sort of become boring now and the community I think have more or less become tired with the same articles being nominated every year,
I won't repeat it but your AFD rationale really didn't help and nor do the (other editors) comments - Had both been worded or said in a jokey way it would've been kept but as I said don't worry about it,
Happy editing, Thanks, Regards, –Davey2010Talk 17:02, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

It's no longer G7 material, too many other editors have contributed. Next plan for tidying up your mess? Cabayi (talk) 17:51, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

Please don't move a page while an AfD discussion is going on: follow the link in the AfD template which leads to WP:EDITATAFD which says "Moving the article while it is being discussed can produce confusion (both during the discussion and when closing using semi-automated closing scripts). If you do this, please note it on the deletion discussion page, preferably both at the top of the discussion (for new participants) and as a new comment at the bottom (for the benefit of the closing administrator)." Best just left at the wrong title until the discussion closes - I'd already added a note in the AfD discussion pointing out that it needed to be moved if the discussion ended with it not being deleted. Thanks. PamD 09:53, 24 April 2020 (UTC)

Renuar

Renuar is a very large company in Israeli terms, The fifth largest in the Israeli fashion sector. The Renuar Group own two brands, "Renuar" and "twenty-four-seven". Together, the group had around 170 branches in Israel, from Eilat on the southern border to Kiryat Shmona in the north. You can see the "Renuar" brand branches on this map. It's hard for me to find sources in English, but the Hebrew article has many sources. Nevertheless, I found one important source in English, whereby Apex was trying to acquire 50% of Renuar at a company value of NIS 360 million, which were around Dollars 100 million back then (link). June 2020

Information icon Hello KAP03. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at Kerajaan Landak. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), patent nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. In January 2017 you moved this article from its original title Game of gain-ground, citing WP:CONCISE.

As I understand current practice, WP:CONCISE does not specifically cover disambiguation methods; we now prefer natural disambiguation qualifiers (WP:NCDAB), which would favor the original title. The current parenthetical qualifier is inaccurate anyway, because "(game)" is used only for individual (non-video) games rather than broader topics.

Should the move simply be reversed using {{db-move}} etc., or do you have another suggestion for a title? --SoledadKabocha (talk) 06:20, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

Financial markets content project

Hello,

My name is Tijana and I am managing a newly established non-profit project called Wikinvesting. Generally, it concerns a knowledge base creation, where everyone will be able to share their knowledge, experience and information related to financial markets. I saw you expressed interest in topics related to it on Wikipedia and I’d love to discuss the project with you further.

If you are interested, please let me know how can I contact you?

Cheers,

Hello, KAP03,

Did you intend for this page to be tagged for speedy deletion? Liz Read! Talk! 02:47, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

  • @Liz: The reason it says it is tagged is because the page transcluded individual AFD pages that had a speedy deletion tag on them. -KAP03 (Talk • Contributions • Email) 03:39, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

COI Assistance for Silicon Valley Community Foundation

Hello User:KAP03. I work with the Silicon Valley Community Foundation which puts me in a conflict of interest situation per the Wikipedia rules. Our page is in need of updating and I’m wondering if you might find it a good use of your time to assist with some updates. I see you have an interest in editing pages regarding the Bay Area. I have drafted some content for our COVID response along with formatted sources. If I were to post that on the article talk page, would you provide feedback regarding the edits? My goal is to improve the page, and while doing so, adhere to the Wikipedia rules regarding COI relationships. Thank you in advance for your consideration. I want to say something

Hi. You sent a message to me saying that I removed the content of teabagging without giving a valid reason. Right? So, what's wrong? I mean the content should not be watched by people below 18 years. Will this not affect the brains of other children who use Wikipedia a lot? If you still want to keep the teabagging photo and content I will not edit these things from now on. Okay? Anything else? Requested edits for Pure Storage

Hi there, I noticed you were one of the largest contributors to a Wikipedia page about flash storage and was hoping you might be willing to review some edits I've requested at Pure Storage. Pure Storage is a flash storage company and I work in their marketing department. Therefore, I am supposed to request edits rather than touch the page myself. Much thanks if you are able to review.
