License tagging for File:Notaktologo.PNG

Thanks for uploading File:Notaktologo.PNG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:31, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:Notaktologo.PNG

Thank you for uploading File:Notaktologo.PNG. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

A tag has been placed on Counterwave Inc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. —C.Fred (talk) 01:47, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Nomination of Counterwave Inc. for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Counterwave Inc. is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Counterwave Inc. until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. MelanieN (talk) 16:51, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Notakto (app)

The article Notakto (app) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NSOFTWARE with no strong secondary sources (the Children's Book and Media Review does not seem to be a significant review source): "Wikipedia is not a directory of all apps that can be confirmed to exist."

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Moving pages and copying content from one page to another

It is not acceptable to just copy content from one Wikipedia and past it into another one as a way of moving it, as doing so loses the editing history, which must be kept to satisfy Wikipedia's copyright terms. Also, if a page is deleted as a result of a deletion discussion, copies of it, whether under the same title or not, may be speedily deleted without notice. Attempting to evade the outcome of a deletion discussion by making new copies is not a good idea. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 15:38, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Hackenbush logo.png

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Hackenbush logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 19:05, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

Non free images

Wikipedia permits the use of non free images only in article, not any other pages, such as Wikipedia space pages, talk pages, user pages, etc etc. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 21:51, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

Image sizes

Please don't change image sizes without a very good reason. WP:IMAGESIZE explains how image sizing works on Wikipedia - by saying that an image should be displayed at 230px instead of the default 220px, you're telling Wikipedia that this image should always be displayed at exactly 230px. If a user has their display preferences set to show all images at 400px instead of the default 220px, perhaps because they have poor eyesight, your specified image size will override that and display it at 230px.

If there's a good reason to resize an image you can do so using "upright=", but for images of tic-tac-toe boards, these all seem perfectly legible at the standard image size. --McGeddon (talk) 09:43, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Again, please don't do this. --McGeddon (talk) 18:47, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
And again, specifying to display an image at exactly 236 pixels width makes hardly any difference to a user seeing all other images at a default 220px, and a lot of unhelpful difference to a user who's set their preferences to display all images at 400px or 120px for whatever reason. Please don't specify fixed sizes for images. Do you understand these messages? --McGeddon (talk) 22:16, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

Declined speedy deletion nomination of Sweetie (apple)

Hello KAP03. Speedy deletion work is important and I do appreciate the effort. I would just ask that you please review the criteria carefully because accuracy is also important. On that issue, I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Sweetie (apple) as an article that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the topic under CSD A7. That criterion did not apply because it is only for articles on real persons or groups, individual animals, organisations, web content and organised events. This article's topic is not within the ambit of that list. Adam9007 (talk) 22:39, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

I'm curious why you created this template. It appears to duplicate the function of Template:Afd2, but it contains errors. For example, clicking the edit button does not edit the AfD page. It edits the template. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 01:10, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

AfD nominations

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When using certain templates (such as welcome templates and user warnings) on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. I have just spent a considerable amount of time subst'ing the AfD templates on all of the articles which you have nominated for deletion. Without the substitution, none of your {{Article for deletion/dated}} tags ever actually added the nomination date or time to the article. (also, it's redundant with the standard {{afd}} template, which includes the date by default in any case.) For future nominations, please follow more closely the standard procedures at WP:AFDHOWTO. Thank you. 22:18, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Magic Triangle (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

Proposed deletion of Magic Triangle (disambiguation)

The article Magic Triangle (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Completely unnecessary disambig page. There is a primary topic here and only two articles. We can easily use hat notes.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. st170e 22:51, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

I've removed the deletion template. I see what you've tried to do. Disambiguation articles can be speedily deleted if they only disambiguate two articles where there is a primary topic. This was the case, but you've forgotten to add in the third article of the same name. I'll do this now for you. st170e 23:04, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi. I'm not commenting on the promo tag, but a claim of being an MLA passes A7 for significance. If he isn't one, that's hoax, and as it's not blatant (unless one knows him well), that's an AfD matter. Peridon (talk) 19:44, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

List of Spanish journalists

Hi, This is the reason I believe the "List of Spanish journalists" article I created yesterday should not have been deleted. I came across Antonio Fontán yesterday and made some edits there, and noticed that, although there are lists for journalists of many countries, there is/was no list for Spanish journalists. I understand that having a list with only one name on it is perhaps wasteful, but since this is Wikipedia I am assuming that other editors will come along and add names to this list, making it more useful in the future. Was I supposed to find a few more names to put on the list to make the page worthy of being created? That seems contrary to the way Wikipedia works. I have come across complete articles with very little content, which I assume will be enlarged over time if they are subjects worthy of being on Wikipedia. Is it possible that I was not supposed to create an "article" but rather a different "namespace" such as "a list" type of page? If so, I apologize, and would like some instructions on how to go about putting up the appropriate page which will be a place to put Antonio Fontán's name as a prominent Spanish journalist. Thank you. BloominOnion27 (talk) 06:24, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

  • @BloominOnion27: You can create the article in your user space (User:BloominOnion27/) or the Draft: space and then move it when it is ready. KAP03Talk • Contributions 03:20, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

After the redirect to the Special namespace was deleted, you can't create a redirect to a Wikipedia namespace redirect that goes to the Special namespace. Subst AfD

Information icon Hi KAP03. When nominating an article for deletion, as you did with 2017 European Junior Championship of American football, please remember to substitute the template like this: {{subst:Article for deletion}}. This way we assure the inclusion of the hidden text that enables the javascript most often used for closing AfD discussions to remove the {{Article for deletion}} template from the article. I removed it manually from 2017 European Junior Championship of American football. Thank you. — Sam Sailor 23:19, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

Information icon Hello KAP03. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at 21th-century Filipino painters. It is also suggested that pages that might meet CSD A7 criteria not be tagged for deletion immediately after they are created. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. Cram101

Hi, please don't use Cram101 as a source. These books copy Wikipedia: if you compare the wording of their entry to the article you can see it is a paraphrase of the start of the Wikipedia article lead. Don't just grab the first hit in Google Books. Fences&Windows 01:09, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

G7 for user pages

Hi KAP03. Just to let you know, I have declined your speedy deletion request for User:Vandhi100. If you take a closer look at WP:G7, it states, "If the sole author blanks a page other than a userspace page, a category page, or any type of talk page, this can be taken as a deletion request." (emphasis mine). The criterion is worded this way because it is not necessarily the case that when a user blanks their user page, they want the user page deleted. One legitimate reason for having a blank user page is to keep the signature link blue. Mz7 (talk) 05:59, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

My unexplained AfD template removal

Sorry for not adding an edit summary when I removed the AfD tag - I was multitasking in different tabs, got interrupted in real life, and lost track. The reason was that the tag had been placed by a sockpuppet of a banned user (and the afd page has since been speedy deleted), but obviously that has to be explained in an edit summary, which I failed to do this time. Flash-Gas Page Merger

Hello,

I agree that the concept of how flash gas is created is applicable to both refrigeration and petroleum production, however the implications are not very similar in the larger scheme. Perhaps we could distinguish the two by using Flash Gas (refrigeration) and Flash Gas (petroleum).

There is going to be much more information added to the petroleum flash gas page in the coming weeks, I will also work to add more sources to what is already on the page. Is there a way that I can take the information from the refrigeration page and create a sub-header titled "in refrigeration" on the Flash Gas page that I'm working on? I'm new to Wiki so I don't know if the official term is "sub-header" but I'm referring to the drop down tabs that contain all the various aspects of the topic. Any advice would be appreciated and I will do what I can to help resolve the issue on my end.

File:IPad2017image.png listed for discussion

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:IPad2017image.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. Thank you. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 20:17, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

I don't think you're understanding what a license is. A license is something like this. Adding Fair use rationale is not providing a license. After going through your uploads, you've done this for all of your images. Please replace these with the correct license. Also, a picture like this image listed for deletion needs to be on Wikimedia Commons, IF and ONLY IF, you are the original uploader. Since it came from the Apple website, I highly doubt you are the original author and would then be required to obtain permission from Apple. Thanks, Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 20:21, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

WP:FOOLS cleanups

Please note, April Fools is over. We do not need to run joke AFD's through MFD to get rid of them. They will either be dealt with by an admin, or you can nominate for CSD. — xaosflux Talk 00:56, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

And please don't record them for posterity on the talk page Siuenti (talk) 02:09, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

April 2017

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.Davey2010Talk 20:40, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

Please go to Talk:AFD to discuss the 1st April AFD issue, Edit warring unfortunately ends one way, Thanks –Davey2010Talk 20:41, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
I'd also suggest to stop the relisting until it is resolved how we are going to deal with the jokes. TonyBallioni (talk) 00:53, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

G6 on April Fools

Before reverting could you read and comment on the section linked to? There was a rough consensus there to delete the AfDs that had no participation. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:36, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

CSD

Hi, Don't worry about CSD'ing everything as everyone's now dealing with it, I would also ask you stop with the relists otherwise you could end up blocked (It's technically wp:disruptive editing), Regardless of that thanks for your help with everyone, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 03:50, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi KAP03,

Thanks for your comment at Articles for deletion/Burak Davutoğlu

(Just some examples) It says;

Replaceable fair use File:MarbledSculpinImage.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:MarbledSculpinImage.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 01:48, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

advice

Please do not mark pages as deletion because they're empty jus ttwo minutes after they've been written. Give the editor a chance to write them. As reviewing administrator, I removed your speedy tag from Influence of technology in music. If nothing is added after a day or two, that's another matter. It is extremely important not to discourage new contributors.

And while I'm here, I see that some of your deletion nomination have been speedy kept. The guidelines for notability here are not self-interpreting statements to be taken blindly, but need interpretation. The ways we interpret them are varied and sometimes inconsistent; they can only be learned from participation or at least observing multiple afd discussions, and especially the discussions at Deletion Review. I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Calentito que nunca 2010 (Compilation album). I do not think that Calentito que nunca 2010 (Compilation album) fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because "Latin GRAMMY nominated Puerto Rican singer " is a claim of significance, while "patent nonsense" is obviously absurd. The Patent nonsense criterion is quite narrow, and applies only to random text such as "sdhfejufekji" or random words. It does not apply to poor writing. I request that you consider not re-tagging Calentito que nunca 2010 (Compilation album) for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. @DESiegel: It looks like the page has been deleted per WP:G11. -KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 19:27, 6 May 2017 (UTC)

CSD tagging

Hi, I noticed that you had been getting a lot of declined speedy deletions recently and your Twinkle CSD log has a lot of blue in it from things that don't appear to be recreations (as is common for A1, A3, and G12). As a piece of advice from a fellow editor who is relatively involved with new pages when I have the time: I would highly suggest that you focus on work in the article mainspace (including things like copyediting) or go to the countervandalism academy, and do work in these areas before continuing to do speedy deletion work. Incorrect speedy deletion tagging is not ideal for several reasons: it could delete worthwhile pages and it also turns of new contributors. SoWhy is a good resource to talk to if you have questions about CSD, and he might be able to chime in too. TonyBallioni (talk) 15:01, 18 May 2017 (UTC)

I notice you marked the article Reeshav Kmr Kaushal rather quickly after it was created. Normal Wikipedia etiquette is to wait at least 10 minutes for A7 deletion nominations. Thanks... reddogsix (talk) 16:37, 20 May 2017 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on NewPagesFeed requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramaksoud2000 (talkcontribs)

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Giardino Papadopoli. I do not think that Giardino Papadopoli fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because The mention of Venice in the article, even if not linked gave ample context. I request that you consider not re-tagging Giardino Papadopoli for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. Please be more careful with CSD tags, Remember that if a quick google search will fid the subject, or if a reasoanble deduction from the text of the article will identify it, a no-context deletion is not appropriate. Hasty tagging

I'm not quite sure tagging Tallinna keskraamatukogu one minute after it was created was ideal. From what I can tell, it wasn't recreated and it certainly isn't advertising. The editor could have been trying to build the article, and there appears to be an article on a another Wikipedia about it, and Google suggests that it might in fact be notable. TonyBallioni (talk) 16:56, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

I think hasty only applies to speedy criteria WP:A1 and WP:A3 not WP:A7. -KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 16:58, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
There is no formal rule, but the library you tagged a minute after creation was certainly significant: it was the first town library in the entire country [1]. That wasn't in the article at the time, but very well could have been if the creator had more than 60 seconds to update the information. Tagging an article that isn't malicious or bad faith within a minute of creation is very much WP:BITE. TonyBallioni (talk) 17:11, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
