Help to get the message that the input on my wikipedia page is autobiographic.

Hello The Road is long, Today another feature article in a newspaper came out about my work. It verifies the validity of the information on my wikipedia page. I'm not sure what you would suggest as to how to have people update the validity of my page without my having to do with anything... Most of what appears on my page was put there by people who know me or my work. I'm unclear how to proceed and welcome your input. Thank you, linda wolf (216.161.253.94 (talk) 20:25, 6 June 2016 (UTC))

PS I'm also unsure how to "sign my posts" other than with my name.

Checking on my message (no.7) and to hear your thoughts

Dear theroadislong, I am keen to hear your thoughts on my message to you (no.7 above) regarding new, third-party sourced, facts to include on the SOCO International page? best wishes, SOCO rep — Preceding unsigned comment added by SOCOrep (talkcontribs) 10:36, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

I did reply on the article's talk page where the discussions should be. Theroadislong (talk) 10:50, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined

I declined your speedy of Draft:Leon Raper. WP:G5 applies only to pages created during the ban or block, not before it; we don't go around revenge-deleting the legitimate work of blocked and banned users. Please be more careful in future. BethNaught (talk) 21:30, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

My mistake I didn't read all of the details of G5, most of the work on the draft was actually mine. Theroadislong (talk) 21:38, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) @BethNaught: I think it was an honest mistake made by Theroadislong probably possibly due to frustration. TRIL was one of many editors really trying to help LeonRaper with the draft in question, which unfortunately has problems with notability that seem to be too great to overcome. Attempts have been made by TRIL and numerous others to explain this to LeonRaper, but this not gone over very well as you'll see if you take a look at User talk:LeonRaper. Perhaps, someone new who has not yet interacted with him might possibly have have better luck explaining things to him. Anyway, the draft seems to be a non-starter which is likely going to end up being eventually deleted per WP:G13 or via WP:MFD, unless somehow better sourcing can be found. If, by chance, you can find any sources which help establish notability, then please add them. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:01, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
It might be worthwhile to MfD it. I sent it to MfD. Maybe that would allow LR to let go and move on. JbhTalk 22:46, 7 June 2016 (UTC) Ammended JbhTalk 22:55, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the note

Thanks for the note about my edit. The edit I made was extremely small and only updated a factual number, which I backed up with a reference. I don't see it as a controversial edit as it is strictly fact based and contained no opinion. I also made it very clear who I work for via my update notes.

I fail to see how this is controversial or somehow not OK with Wikipedia's rules. What you sent me are not in the official Wikipedia rules re: someone not being able to edit a company's page if they work for them. As long as I clearly state who I am, it should be okay.

Maybe I'm missing something. I'm interested in feedback.

Qforqsam (talk) 18:00, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

As I explained in my edit summary your edit requires a secondary source, NOT a primary source (your website). Wikipedia is only interested in what the reliable third party sources report, not what you say about yourself. Theroadislong (talk) 18:11, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

I am trying to update the information with correct information and fix broken links so that the information is accurate on the page. There is so much incorrect and outdated information on the pages that it is misleading to anyone who is trying to get accurate information on these schools. Actually you are edit warring to include in line external links, which is considered spamming and will shortly get you blocked unless you stop. Theroadislong (talk) 16:10, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

External links use

Hi,

I am trying to update the Wikipedia page on Wilson Benesch. There were previously a number of issues that I have tried to correct so that the 'multiple issues' illustrated are resolved.

One of these is 'promotes the subject in a subjective manner' this was raised in January 2013 - I suspect this issue has been resolved now some of the content has been changed by me.

Two the 'article needs additional citations for verification' - I removed what I deemed to be subjective content which was in all likelihood the reason for issue one. I have also added citations and links within wikipedia to try as best as possible explain word content using wikipedia web content.

Three you have raised an issue with the use of external links. Inputted by me. Could you please help and clarify why these external links aremay not follow Wikipedia's policies or guidelines? I have cross referenced multiple other entries for audio company's on wikipedia and the use of links and citations are much the same.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bjorman (talkcontribs) 14:02, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

Your edits have added in line external links which Wikipedia does not use, external links are only used in the external links section, please see Wikipedia:External links. Theroadislong (talk) 14:11, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
Should I remove the citations? My concern is that this removes the references to relevant news articles and announcements that reference the wikipedia entry. Bjorman (talk) 15:58, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
I have removed the two external links for you. Theroadislong (talk) 15:02, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
thank you - I'm learning - even managed to sign my last post! The two points I raised in regard to the 'multiple issues' - how does the wiki community deem when this should be removed? I think these issues have been corrected, but then that's just my subjective viewpoint right!?Bjorman (talk) 15.08, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 18

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited WebCRM, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page CN. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I do apologise as I was not aware of COI. I do not have any interests in any company or business that would benefit from any edits that I have made. I shall delete the quotations. Luke Pritchard

Okay, first of all, "Theroadislong" I don't see how any of my edits promote or constitute vandalism. Everything that was written there was taken from reliable sources and Luke's social media. Now, if you think you know it all (which is clear you don't) you can go and look it up yourself. But I'd really appreciate if you'd stop thinking you know it all. Go and look things up if you don't believe me. I'm asking you to write all over again the information you deleted because otherwise. I'll write it again myself. Get your facts straight before opening your mouth. You should delete your account, that would be nice not only for me but for Wikipedia as well :). Hello

Hello Theroadislong

You have reported about our page at Wikipedia, we are a startup and our company "Decorade Private Limited" is registered to Indian Companies ACT.

May i know the reason for taking this action, if i may clarify. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Decorade (talkcontribs) 20:53, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Becaus the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.Theroadislong (talk) 21:11, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
There are other companies also who give out their information for people to know about them and use whenever they are in need. Take this for reference(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_Ladder). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Decorade (talkcontribs) 21:36, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
Please read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS the fact that there are other poor quality articles is not an excuse to create another. Theroadislong (talk) 21:42, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
Please guide to make this a better and acceptable. Rather than debating to delete this page. I myself agree with you to make this place a better platform for people to know and read about things. But that does not mean you have to harass new users about deletion of their page. We'd be obliged to get any help and if we can make this place a calm and good one for new users like us.Decorade (talk) 21:48, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
"we" "us" ? User accounts are very strictly for individuals NOT companies. Theroadislong (talk) 21:59, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

I myself is CEO here, i want people to know about this step and initiative. So rather than putting my own name (which also will be deleted) i think this is the right way to inform people about the initiative to help people out in their problems. Decorade (talk) 22:05, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia however, it is NOT the place for you to inform people about your company you can do that with a website or blog. Theroadislong (talk) 22:07, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

NHEG wikipedia

I just saw that you added the notability tag on NHEG Wikipedia page. I am confused, I thought that the references added provide the notability. "Notability" definition seems to be subjective. Can you please explain how many more links would suffice. Atchopra (talk) 19:36, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

To pass the WP:GNG Wikipedia requires significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. the article doesn't have these as yet. Theroadislong (talk) 19:40, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, your answer did not help. What would make this page pass the WP:GNG? Atchopra (talk) 19:48, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
Errr... finding significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Theroadislong (talk) 19:50, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
Again, your answer is not helping. please define "significant coverage"? Please give appropriate examples. Otherwise its only your opinion. Atchopra (talk) 19:53, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
It has absloutely nothing to do with my opinion. This [1] merely confirms the organisation exists.

This [2] is a series of reviews by volunteers, hardly independent or in depth. This [3] requires a subscription to view so Ic an't comment. The final ref may be OK but it doesn't make the organisation notable winning a Stevie Award. Theroadislong (talk) 19:58, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Sounds like a opinion to me. What do you mean by [4] merely confirms the organization exists, either it confirms or it doesn't? The reviews are not written by the organization so why are they not independent? If you can't comment because a reference requires subscription, does that mean you add notability tag? I am not satisfied with your answers, please explain with reason, otherwise I will have to remove the notability tag. Atchopra (talk) 20:08, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
The first reference confirms the organisation exists BUT is NOT significant coverage, the reviews are not by a reputable reviewer and do not establish notability. Please ask at the help desk or the Teahouse Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions for other users further input. Theroadislong (talk) 20:14, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
Is this the general practice with Wikipedia editors - when they can't defend their actions, they refer to Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions? Atchopra (talk) 20:22, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
You clearly don't understand the advice I have given so I suggest you ask at The Teahouse where somebody else will be able to explain it better. Theroadislong (talk) 20:26, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
Why don't you try explaining one more time, with reason this time? I have lot of patience! Atchopra (talk) 20:34, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Hello Theoradislong!

Thank you for reviewing my recently crated page "Chase Chrisely". I have a couple of questions regarding the reveiw process and was hopping you would be able to assist: 1. With all due respect, I would like for you to email me the deleted bio that was on Wikipedia, for Carla Thomas. I created a page and you decided that my life was not worthy of being included in Wikipedia, an encyclopedia, yet you make sure that you are mentioned all over Wikipedia, thus using Wikipedia as a platform to promote you and all of your pottery colleagues, all of whom you personally decided we're worth mentioning. How arrogant of you. Please email me my original bio that was posted. Thank you. Carla Thomas ( not the Soul Singer of the 60s) Carla Thomas (talk) 06:18, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

I see he has already responded to your complaint on his talk page saying "As a user page, your bio was a blatant case of using Wikipedia as a free host. As far as something in mainspace goes, kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no conflict of interest thinks you are notable and writes about you here." I'm afraid Autobiographies are very strongly discouraged here. For impartial friendly advice I suggest you ask at The Teahouse. All good wishes. Theroadislong (talk) 07:40, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

Re: Recent page review of Cloudinary

Hi Theoradislong,

Thank you for taking the time to review and edit the page of Cloudinary.

You've added a "notability" tag to the page.

I believe that the references in the page are valid and refer to established news and information sites such as forbes.com, thenextweb.com, smashingmagazine.com, crunchbase.com, programmableweb.com, Tech.Co and more.

Can you please explain why do you think that this are established references and suggest relevant changes in order to remove the notability tag?

Thanks!

Nadav

Nadavsoferman (talk) 21:00, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

You need to establish notability by adding references that show there is widespread coverage of the company in reliable sources. The majority of your sources appear to be blogs, which are not considered reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 21:07, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Robert J. Kuntz edits

Hi there Theroadislong,

I am Robert J. Kuntz's agent and wife. On Mr Kuntz's behalf, I am updating his biography on Wikipedia and today I made some edits regarding:

- his current position (author and game designer) - his website: http://www.threelinestudio.com/

External links: - his current company: http://www.threelinestudio.com/

I am bringing to your attention the fact that Mr. Kuntz and I are going to make further edits to his biography in the coming days and we would appreciate that we be given carte blanche in our endeavours.

I understand that you have cancelled my edits and I request that you restore them. Meanwhile should you have any issues, please do contact Mr. Kuntz directly: enquiries@threelinestudio.com

Mr. Kuntz's Wikipedia biography as it stands is incorrect, and I would strongly advise you to read his post on the subject: http://lakegenevaoriginalrpg.blogspot.fr/2015/09/my-wikipedia-bio-catastrophe-lucca.html

Help removing "issues" tags

Hi, Would you be able to remove a couple of the tags on the West Virginia University Press page? [2] Specifically:

The topic of this article may not meet Wikipedia's general notability guideline. (June 2016) This article relies too much on references to primary sources. (June 2016)

Many secondary sources have been added, all of which confirm that the Press's work is notable (recognition by NPR's Fresh Air [3] and The New York Review of Books [4], as well as JSTOR [5] and Project Muse [6]).

We recognize it would be a conflict of interest for us to do it ourselves. Thanks for your help.

Hello,

We are reaching out because we are fairly new to wikipedia and noticed you have been commenting on our edits. We updated exhibitions and were wondering if they are the proper source. How can we make our edits correct? It is hard to find some sources because some of these galleries do not have websites and others only show exhibitions through 2001. What is another approach we can take to fix this problem?

You say "we" Wikipedia accounts are strictly for single users only and if you have a conflict of interest you should declare it on your user page. Wikipedia articles may include links to web pages outside Wikipedia (external links), but they should not be placed in the body of an article. Theroadislong (talk) 11:39, 31 July 2016 (UTC)

Help with edits

Hi Theroadislong, I am new to Wikipedia and was practicing by changing reference formats and adding links to references on this page. I noticed you have added flags and deleted some content. I'm willing to work on fixing the page (Note: I don't have a personal relationship with the subject, although I'm familiar with her work), but I can't figure out how to retrieve some of the content you deleted so I can edit it. I'm surprised you reverted my edit here. Yes, the link is dead and it doesn't seem to be available on wayback, but WP:ROT clearly says "Do not delete cited information solely because the URL to the source does not work any longer. Verifiability does not require that all information be supported by a working link, nor does it require the source to be published online." (Emphasis original) The Tenets are available online, by the way, but at unreliable hosting places: e.g. here. StAnselm (talk) 19:20, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Your post

your telling me to please stop posting content on a movement I created. Do you need proof?? If DemExit movement was started from a planned protest resulting from DNC leaks why is it my personal account is the one who posted this movement before DNC leaks even started or the protest was planned. Here is a link to an original tweeting proving this. On this date the DNC leaks were not out and there was no planned protest so because people hijack what I created that means they can slant the origination? https://twitter.com/demexit/status/761848596560052224 Are you a BERNIE supporter? I am questioning why wikipedia is trying to censor the orginal creator of a movement? I own the twitter, the website and the facebook for this yet I am told I cant edit the content on something I Created and instead other people can just put whatever they want and it doesnt matter if its truthful? I have to question your motivation for doing this and I have already written to other ppl on wikipedia on this issue. If your going to post about Demexit you shouldnt slant it towards recent events and you should put the history! My boyfriend works for a major news organization. I feel like telling him how Wikipedia is now editing things for political reasons. Now one of the editors even says he has a close connection on the subject????!! I take your point that the statement only applies to the USA, but I don't understand your edit summary here - how is it poorly sourced? Joyce is regarded as one of the most important authorities on the subject. StAnselm (talk) 20:44, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

One link's page gave 404, the other went to the site's home page. When a news site removes an article, it often redirects to its home page. I changed the failed verifications to dead links. FV is for when it links to the url, but does not support the cited text. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 22:36, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

I'm puzzled over this edit you made. Did you mean it's not a direct quote from Phillips? Because it certainly is a direct quote from Ingersoll here. StAnselm (talk) 21:51, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Yes I meant it's not a direct quote from Phillips. If it's intended to be a quote then it needs to say who is saying it? Theroadislong (talk) 22:03, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
Fair enough, let's attribute the quote: we need to have quotation marks, otherwise we're using Ingersoll's words as our own. Any suggestions as to the wording? StAnselm (talk) 22:15, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
It seems extraordinary to quote someone else quoting his words? I think it needs re-writing. Theroadislong (talk) 22:39, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Failed verification? Seriously?

Page 9: "In 1975 [Ham] began work as a science teacher in the town of Dalby,....."

Plymouth Science Park

I am currently taking part in the West Country Challenge. It does not help if you start tagging and interfering with articles before I have had a chance to finish working on them. Have you looked at what the Plymouth Science Park article was like before I started on it? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 20:14, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

Yes I did, but you need to find reliable secondary sources that discuss the science park in depth, at the moment all the sources are primary and it would struggle to pass an WP:AFD it is also rather promotional. Theroadislong (talk) 20:20, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
Doing a quick news search, I guess it's probably pass an AfD, since the sources about them clearly do exist. Joseph2302 20:23, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
Yes I'm just adding some. Theroadislong (talk) 20:28, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

Izenda suggested edits?

Hi Theroadislong. Thank you for your feedback on the Izenda wiki submission. Would you recommend that I remove all citations from blogs/video/press releases since that are not credible? Opcode1 (talk) 13:30, 18 August 2016 (UTC) Opcode1

I think that would help. Theroadislong (talk) 13:37, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

Mark Fisher Fitness notability

Hi,

You added a notability banner on Mark Fisher Fitness article more than one year ago. A newbie with maybe a WP:COI is trying to remove it. I preserve it as I prefer someone else to juge and act. Do think this banner is still necessary?

Changes I Did

His, you seems you deleted some of the changes I did for two pages.. can I know why you have done this ?? Contactderrick (talk) 18:08, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia:External links. Wikipedia does not use in line external links and does not require links to Facebook see WP:ELNO. changes in 'vegetarianism'

Hello, I did not need to make a reference for my opinion, since it can be found on this same article.

On one hand it is said that vegetarian food gives you all the nutrients you need, and 5 paragraphs later it is stated you need all kinds of supplements to provide in your nutrient-intake. That is contradictory, so the first statement is a lie and should be taken down. I was in fact very friendly when I was merely nuancing said statement.

I just wanted to put it CLEARLY that it is impossible to naturally be vegetarian (without supplements, which i consider unnatural) and have an equally healthy life than a meat-eating people, considering they don't eat too much meat. There are exceptions of certain blood-types, but I would need to look for those sources, yes.

But in general, the small changes that I made are perfectly ok and reference to the wiki page itsself if you read it as a whole. Please put it back in, or rephrase it so that it is clear to people quoting that paragraph it is NOT NATURAL to abstain from eating meat, fish or any related products. You will have health issues down the long run if you do so.

Thank you very much.

Please make your case on the article talk page, I've been vegetarian for 20 years with absolutely no supplements and I'm perfectly natural and healthy! The article clearly doesn't say that supplements are needed in any case?Theroadislong (talk) 01:29, 31 August 2016 (UTC)

Or Haneshamah page

Thank you very much for your edits to Or Haneshamah – Ottawa's Reconstructionist Community. Can you please tell me if it is permissible to write, "Or Haneshamah describes itself as a progressive, liberal, egalitarian and inclusive congregation"? Your assumption that these adjectives imply a lack of neutral tone is very problematic. These are not "pejorative" or value-laden terms, but are actually objective identifiers, which the organization itself (and the broader Reconstructionist movement) uses. Further, the insistence that secondary sources must confirm this description, rather than the organization itself, is also problematic. It is a Reconstructionist congregation, which along with Reform Judaism in the united states and the World Union of Progressive Judaism outside the US, constitutes the most liberal, progressive branch of Judaism. In other words as a Reconstructionist congregation it is is BY DEFINITION liberal, progressive, egalitarian and inclusive. The Rabbi of this congregation is widely known for her liberal, progressive views (as noted in the published sources that are cited). It would be highly unusual (and thus more likely to appear in news stories about it) if it were not a liberal, progressive, egalitarian and inclusive congregation! It seems to me that the easiest way to deal with this -- and to provide an accurate description of the congregation -- is to use the phrase "describes itself as" to characterize its social and political orientation. Thank you again for your attention to this. Dmendel (talk) 20:20, 1 September 2016 (UTC)

YES that is an excellent compromise thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 20:30, 1 September 2016 (UTC)

Need Request for Inclusion

Hi There,

Hope you are fine. I recently added a festival to the list of festivals taking place in Louisiana. For your kind consideration, I didn't intend to solely promote our website. I added Red River Revel festival that take place in Shreveport, LA. The Red River Revel, winner of the 1988 President’s Volunteer Action Award, began in 1976 as the Junior League of Shreveport’s Bicentennial gift to the citizens of the region. The goal of the festival is to provide the general populace a celebration of the finest visual and performing arts experiences.

So, I don't think adding a real festival to the list is considered advertisement. So, I will request you not to exclude it from the list. Kindly visit the legit website and perform the necessary verification. You can include it in the list afterwards.

Thanks and Regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dom.orefice7786 (talkcontribs) 10:01, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

Adding external links to your own website is considered spamming, your festival does not have a Wikipedia article so does not belong in the list, if the festival is notable then someone else will make an article at somepoint and then it can be listed. how to ask questions

Since your ID / handle is associated with the comment, "If you have any questions you can ask me on my talk page", I tried once before to get a little involved in Wikipedia, mostly because it such a good source of knowledgeable folks on particular topics, but I get lost in the detail and the doing it the right way "thingy", so gave up a while back. But am looking to find out how to attack the basic carbon-sulfur chemical bonds and one direction has led to the topic/article "Molecular Orbital Diagrams" and I thought to again to try to get some help/leads/suggestions from more knowledgeable sources so I thought to do so from that article's many authors/editors. But how to do so they will find the question, maybe set some sort of dialogue if that is permitted.

Chem4Engr (talk) 19:22, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

To discuss the content of the Molecular orbital diagram article you need to start a new section on the talk page here Talk:Molecular orbital diagram. Theroadislong (talk) 19:39, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

Michael Gastauer

The Michael_Gastauer page is full of unsourced claims. There is no documented evidence that he is one of Germany's richest 50 people, that he has ever sold a company for $480m, that he operates a charitable foundation, etc. The only source for these "facts" are quotes he has given in interviews. Several news articles (1 2 [|3] 4 ) in the past week have raised serious doubts about Mr. Gastauer's claims, and he is currently trying to raise two hundred million euros in exchange for 10% of his company, which he claims has been valued at $2.2b by JP Morgan even though his company is less than a year old. He also has been accused of fraud and mismanagement in past business ventures, resulting in arrest and civil legal proceedings: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Michael_Gastauer&oldid=743354673#Controversy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fin3999 (talkcontribs) 09:55, 9 October 2016 (UTC)

There is no evidence that he has ever been convicted or arrested. I couldn`t find any source for this. The articles on Forbes, Business Insider and Huffington post are good source to proof his statements about the $480M sale and WB21 business valuation are true.
Arrest in relation to the collapse of G & S Vermögensverwaltung GmbH: http://www.gsc-research.de/index.php?tx_mfcgsc_unternehmen%5Buid%5D=1673&tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=17017&cHash=5a9a72a828&type=98#
Conviction of a director of G & S Vermögensverwaltung GmbH his exact age (not asserting he's the one who was convicted, just sharing): http://www.nzz.ch/bedingte-strafe-finanzbetrueger-agenx-1.8166257
The Forbes, Business Insider, and Huffington Post articles do not state that he has sold his company or that his company is valued at that number, they just quote him saying so. Here are 4 actual investigative articles casting doubt on these claims: [|1, Financial Times] 2, Germany's largest daily newspaper )(3, German business magazine 4, German startup industry website

You say "we" Wikipedia accounts are strictly for single person use. The link you added was a VERY poor quality mirror site, the page's title was misspelt as "Search Engine Marketing" Theroadislong (talk) 19:00, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

Hello. Regarding the link I added, it is to an educational resource on an educational website. Can you please explain why you feel this is unacceptable?Design Archivist (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 13:58, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

External links should only be added with extreme caution, the link you added provided no further useful info than was already in the article and you appear to be adding the links everywhere. Here [5] you even added a link to the wrong person, clearly you are spamming.Theroadislong (talk) 14:13, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Re: Paul Clark and external links

Hello,

After reading your comments and reading the user pages, I am struggling a bit to find what the issues are with the content. I am writing from and linking to educational resources from an academic special collection. According to the getting started page for GLAM "Select the most significant items in your institution's collection and see if there are Wikipedia articles on them or on a related topic. If there are, expand the article and include a reference to your catalogue. If you have primary source material available online, a link to it can be included under the External links section. If no suitable article exists, create one." This is what I have done in relation to Paul Clark and the links I added to other designers. Please can you be more specific as to what the problem is? Would you prefer I add text in the article that refers to the resource and link to that?

Thank you Design Archivist (talk) 11:07, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia does not encourage large lists of external links, much better to add content cited to the sources. Theroadislong (talk) 11:12, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

Regarding the section you deleted because it was unsourced: The entire article is unsourced. How is that section less sourced than the rest of it? Might as well leave it in. Morfusmax (talk) 20:13, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Or delete the whole article? Wikipedia relies on reliable sources and if content is promotional then it certainly needs sources. Theroadislong (talk) 22:29, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Having trouble listing citations as APA is not used here

How do I remove my account? I now understand why Wikipedia is not accepted for University or Seminary papers by most Professors. In past I allowed it but no more. Rev. Dr. Robert Paris (talk) 14:46, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

Accounts cannot be removed, you can abandon it, but rather than leave it would be more beneficial to find sources for your content and add it back. I don't know what APA is either? Theroadislong (talk) 14:48, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

APA is the accepted method of citations for university and seminary papers. The correction I made to the article was based on archeology and astronomy and can be found in research by Creation Research Institute. I will after this semester notify my students that any paper citing Wikipedia will save me time grading it. Rev. Dr. Robert Paris (talk) 14:56, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

Creation Research Institute would not be considered a reliable source. I'm not aware of any students anywhere being advised to use Wikipedia! It is not a reliable source especially when unreferenced content is added! Theroadislong (talk) 15:51, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
