Disclosing Conflict of Interest

Hi. I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. Where do I need to put this? Many thanks, Ryan RyanJEdwards1 (talk) 14:32, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

The draft you are working on contains a LOT of unsourced content, leading others to think that you may have a connection with the subject or are being paid, but if you don't that is fine. Theroadislong (talk) 14:45, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
Okay, thank you for confirming. Where should I put that I am not being directly or indirectly compensated in order to enable the page publishing procedure to continue? RyanJEdwards1 (talk) 11:27, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your comment on the page. I've now added many additional sources and references to the page, with every detail now backed up with a citation. Is there anything else that I need to do? RyanJEdwards1 (talk) 12:35, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for new comment on the page concerning Spotify. I totally understand and have now removed that. What else do I need to do in order to have the page published? Thank you! RyanJEdwards1 (talk) 12:47, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
RyanJEdwards1 Just wait until another reviewer comes along, there is no rush, I don't like to review twice if `I can help it. Theroadislong (talk) 12:50, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Request for further feedback on SudShare article

Hi Theroadislong, I saw that you just declined my AfC submission for Draft:SudShare, under WP:ARTSPAM concerns. I went through the article again and removed any wording that I thought could theoretically be perceived as biased or scammy, and I think it should be much more to your liking now. I also noticed you added Template:Paid contributions to the top of the article, which according to its usage documentation, requires that you leave a more detailed explanation on the talk page (I don't mean to nitpick or anything, but I feel like that's worth pointing out, since it's a commonly used template that isn't very helpful for other editors without further details about the specifics of the issue. Apologies if I've misunderstood the template instructions or anything). I'd be very grateful if you could take another look at Draft:SudShare, and if you still feel like it's spam, please let me know what you think needs to change before you can accept it. While I am an (openly disclosed) paid editor, and as such have some amount of COI here, I do genuinely believe this meets notability and verifiability criteria, and want to be of value in improving Wikipedia here. Thank you, Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 09:51, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

"SudShare charges $1 per pound of laundry, with a $20 minimum per order." "Folding services are included in pricing." "Customers schedule laundry pickup and delivery through an app," " clothes are cleansed, folded, and returned by 8 pm. the following day" may well be sourced but is all just blatant advertising. Theroadislong (talk) 10:47, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
Yitzilitt (paid) Your draft has been deleted as unambiguous advertising or promotion. Theroadislong (talk) 11:51, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
Hi Theroadislong, I apologize both for taking so long to reply to this, and for the length of the following response, but I'd like to respectfully contest your assessment of the page. Please don't take this the wrong way; I really do appreciate all the work you do for Wikipedia, and this is not meant as a personal attack, but rather directed criticism regarding this one decision, which I believe you made in error. With all that in mind...
The most pressing issue here is that of the speedy deletion of the page. According the deletion logs, the deletion was carried out by Randykitty (which due to my unfamiliarity with the speedy deletion process and the fact that by the time I saw you had left a message on the talk page it had already been deleted, I'm not sure exactly what your role in that was, but I'm assuming you were involved. If not, apologies for bringing this up on your talk page), under WP:G11 criteria. According to said criteria, "this applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten" in order to qualify as encyclopedic. I firmly believe that even if you are 100% correct in your assessment of my writing as being blatant advertising (which I don't think you are, but let's assume for now), the draft should still have been salvageable. As you mentioned, everything I wrote was well-sourced to (what in good faith I believe to be) multiple reputable sources, some of which strongly indicate notability (such as a lengthy front-page article in The Baltimore Sun, which covered SudShare in depth, as an example). Use of those sources could have been used to reconstruct an article on SudShare, independent of what I've written, without any potential COI or POV issues whatsoever. According to WP:G11, "If a subject is notable and the content could plausibly be replaced with text written from a neutral point of view, this is preferable to deletion." I understand you probably don't have time to do something like that yourself, but this was a draft page we're talking about—it was never on mainspace, and if I was given time to work on it and talk about the situation with you, I am quite sure that I could have written something that you would agree is at the very least does not qualify as WP:SPAM. This was not an "unsalvageable" draft, and completely losing access to it is very upsetting, as I'm sure you can understand. Before writing this response, I also carefully read through WP:IBA, which while it is an essay rather than formal policy, is linked in WP:SPAMPAGE, which is. I don't have access to the original draft page page, obviously, so I'm working from memory here, but the only criteria mentioned there which my writing unambiguously followed is "created by an account with an apparent conflict of interest," (which is clearly stated on my userpage, as well as being unambiguously stated on the SudShare draft talk page, according to what I believe to be proper COI policy), as well as "it provides external URLs to the product's homepage" (I included an external link in the company infobox section, which I believe is common practice). In short, I strongly believe that the G11 deletion was erroneous.
The other issue of note here is your specific assessment of certain details in the SudShare draft as being promotional. Again, I don't have access to the original page, so I will be working off of memory and your quotes above. If I'm mistaken in any of my recollections, please forgive me.
All of the examples you gave above ("SudShare charges $1 per pound of laundry, with a $20 minimum per order." "Folding services are included in pricing." "Customers schedule laundry pickup and delivery through an app," " clothes are cleansed, folded, and returned by 8 pm. the following day") are descriptive sentences about the service that the company offers. They do not contain any puffery, weasel words, or contentious labels, with the single possible (and deeply arguable) exception of the word "cleansed," which could be interpreted as having unnecessarily positive connotations beyond just the cleaning of clothes (perhaps spiritual/moral purity or something, as I've seen it used in Christian religious writing). It seems that there is no clear discussion in the Manual of Style over how to properly cover an organization (outside of determining notability), but I'm personally of the view that most readers who are looking for an article about an organization will want to know at least some details about the services that organization offers. They will also want to know about any criticism, controversy, etc., and as such I did include a section talking about concerns over privacy that have been brought up, but that's not the only thing the typical reader would want to see covered, I don't think. I think you would agree would be silly to remove all coverage of product details on, for example, Uber, which talks quite directly about pricing, commission percentages, etc. As such, I would not consider those examples you brought up to be instances of WP:PROMO at all!
I apologize for this extraordinarily lengthy response. The reason I am responding in so much detail is because I see your position here as being emblematic of a larger issue across Wikipedia. I think there's a tendency among Wikipedians to push so hard in the deletionist direction that I've seen editors discussing, with no small amount of pride, how they've deleted articles about massive multi-million dollar companies. That seems problematic to me, because it appears that we are blocking the creation of articles about companies which seriously affect the public, and which should be mentioned by any self-serious encyclopedia! To me, Wikipedia is all about giving people easy access to reputable information about topics that matter, and if we refuse to cover corporations simply because of the threat of capitalistic bias, then we ourselves are simply introducing a different bias, and one which goes against (at least in my opinion) the core purpose of Wikipedia and the Open data movement. I am not upset at you as an editor (in fact I think that overall you're doing great work), but I am upset at the general trend that your decision here represents.
I hope that we can have a positive relationship as fellow editors moving forward, and look forward to hearing your response. :)
Yours, Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 08:52, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
I did not tag your draft for deletion, I declined it because of the promotional content, "SudShare charges $1 per pound of laundry, with a $20 minimum per order." "Folding services are included in pricing." "Customers schedule laundry pickup and delivery through an app," " clothes are cleansed, folded, and returned by 8 pm. the following day" is BLATANTLY promotional and has no place in an encyclopedia and I would challenge you to find another reviewer who would support such ridiculous content. Theroadislong (talk) 08:58, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Sorry for the mix-up; the deletion happened so quickly after you declined it I just assumed it was coming from you. My sincere apologies. As for other reviewers who would support it, I've been discussing this in the unofficial Wikipedia Discord, and it did seem like the consensus there was that those sentences were acceptable. If you want to confirm this, I think you can probably ask User:MJL, User:Asartea, and User:Vaticidalprophet, as I've spoken with all of them over Discord (though please don't harass them or anything if they don't respond, of course).
Yours, Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 09:15, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Users MJL and Asartea do not appear to be AFC reviewers and Vaticidalprophet is not visibly active there? As the draft has been deleted there is nothing further I can do. Theroadislong (talk) 11:36, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
@Theroadislong: I am totally a reviewer for AFC. (responding to ping)MJLTalk 16:39, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Ok, my bad, I couldn't see any reviews in your recent contributions and you don't have the reviewer category on your user page. Theroadislong (talk) 16:45, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Editing in the Sandbox

Hello I was wondering if you could help me with a question I have in regards to my draft. In the External Links section I have three links that I want to delete, but I can't edit them out when I go into edit source. They don't even show up when I go to edit. They are numbered like so: 1. 2. 3. I'm just a little confused because they don't show up when I go into editing mode. Thanks for your time, Meleeplayer93? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Meleeplayer93? (talkcontribs) 20:09, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Meleeplayer93? Re your draft User:Meleeplayer93?/sandbox the three links are references which are used in the history section they are not external links, you can learn more about references here WP:REFB. Theroadislong (talk) 20:24, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Draft:SudShare. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 06:18, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Ref for submission of page

Hi Theroadislong!

So the page is for an artist who does not have any articles written about him. Would you want me to add references like beatport/spotify links for the singles he has released so there is some sort of reference? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bruticus321 (talkcontribs) 17:44, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

I have no idea which draft you are referring to, but Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. Theroadislong (talk) 17:47, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
Ok I see now that it is Draft:Gene Xander which has zero sources, also see WP:NMUSICIAN for the criteria. Theroadislong (talk) 17:50, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi! thanks and..

Hi! By external link do you mean the artist's website? Thanks for your feedback! — Preceding unsigned comment added by EMHAR (talkcontribs) 18:15, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

I have accepted your draft Elke Solomon and removed the external link from the body of the article. The artists link is correctly placed and fine. Theroadislong (talk) 18:43, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Argonne Rebels Drum and Bugle Corps

Hey, did you happen to delete list of repertoires on the Argonne page? If so, could you please revert them? I lived one block from the practice field and have the brochures from every year that is cited. Also, the repertoires spreadsheet also contains the placements (in national comps) in the far right column with 5th place in the first DCI and 3 AL wins and 5th in VFW in 72. Thank so much. Jyash Tholiya Page Review

Hi,

Jyash Tholiya is really a known Child prodigy. I have seen the pages for the Children who are just featured in 1 or 2 Movies and with a small role too and still have their Wikipedia mentions or just 1 or 2 awards and they have been mentioned or covered on Wikipedia. Jyash is doing a very good job for this world. Please at least visit his Facebook page or YouTube Channel and you will understand that people from various parts of the world like to hear his series of National Anthems. His work is not limited to National Anthems but to other areas of work related to spreading the message of peace, prosperity, and love. He has been covered in National Media, regional media and all the citations have already been put on his page. Also, he has many awards and records to his credit. Those are as well cited in the draft.

He definitely deserves his Wikipedia page. If you suggest, some changes or more citations will/can also be done. Please guide. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashish.tholiya (talkcontribs) 03:49, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

I'm afraid it is irrelevant what Facebook and YouTube have to say about Draft:Jyash Tholiya they are not reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 08:25, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

Thompsons Solicitors Scotland - Article Review

Hi Theroadislong,

Thank you for reviewing the draft page for Thompsons Solicitors Scotland. One of the reasons for attempting to get the page approved is that Thompsons Solicitors Scotland has a distinct identity from Thompsons in England. Although growing out of the same original firm founded in 1921, The Scottish firm was founded separately, is run seperately, and works almost exclusively under Scottish law and within the Scottish judicial system (whereas the English firm does not).

I have noted your comments regarding certain aspects of the text which are promotional in their nature and I will address them as soon as possible. Having looked at the Thompsons (England) article, I feel I have included lots of notable information in relation to the Scottish firm. The sections/topics included are fundamental to the firm's ethos of helping individuals in Scotland seek access to justice as well as describing their involvement in precedent-setting cases and campaigning, both of which are verifiable and notable. However, would it be better to strip back some of the information - perhaps the list of Notable Cases is too long and maybe I should only include those that have been mentioned in the press, rather than citing the actual judgments.

Again, thank you for taking the time to review the article and I would be very grateful for any further help and advice. ShimsCabot (talk) 11:45, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

Rapita Systems Draft

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Rapita_Systems

hi there,

May you please help me understand why the draft was declined. I'm not asking out of arrogance but I genuinely want to learn about the issue of citations and how many is enough. I thought everything provided was enough as I have seen organization pages with far less citations and information but the pages are up and running e.g. LDRA and Vector Informatik

Many thanks

No Source

What do you mean no source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by YouTubeGamer17 (talkcontribs) 20:44, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

Wikipedia only publishes articles for topics that have received significant coverage in reliable sources, your draft has none. Theroadislong (talk) 20:52, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

translation

hi thanks for your reply back there in "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:%D9%85%D8%B7%D8%A7%D8%B9%D9%85_%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%85%D9%88%D9%86%D9%87" i believe that now i am ready to translate the page from arabic to english, but can you please guide how to do that? for me to use translate tool i have to become Autoconfirmed first, also please guide in how to show the page in multiple languages 'i will take care of translating myself'.

looking forward to hearing from you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abodiiyi (talkcontribs) 09:06, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

I do not speak Arabic so would not be confident in advising you, but a sample of the text translates as "In order to continue the success and excellence and meet the needs of the customer, it has several branches in the city of Riyadh" would indicate that it is NOT appropriate content for an encyclopedia article, being very promotional. Theroadislong (talk) 09:19, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

can you please check if anything is good enough then i may proceed with the submission. as this is the first time for me to create an article here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abodiiyi (talkcontribs) 09:47, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

sorry no the draft Draft:مطاعم ليمونه] is entirely promotional and unacceptable. Theroadislong (talk) 10:24, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

checking on draft

since "Draft:مطاعم ليمونه" is not very suitable, as a company where we can post our own business information? isn't Wikipedia creating pages for restaurants and companies? im really confused at this point i had to change this article 73 times and still not suitable — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abodiiyi (talkcontribs) 11:24, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

You can't I'm afraid, that is NOT what Wikipedia is for. Your draft does not show with significant coverage in multiple published independent reliable sources how this organisation meets the Wikipedia definition of a notable organisation. Please review the criteria. Please also read WP:COI. Theroadislong (talk) 11:54, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

Request on 18:12:04, 4 December 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Trail972

I am trying to de-orphan Wikipedia page Walter Boardman Kerr by linking it to another Wikipedia page, Philips Academy, where WBK is listed by name on a list of notable alumni. I clicked on the link button in my sandbox thinking that would do it, but apparently I need to do something else. Can you assist me? Thanks. Trail972 (talk) 18:12, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

Trail972 (talk) 18:12, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

Trail972 When an article is tagged for being an orphan, it means there are no other articles on Wikipedia that point to it. Walter Boardman Ker is linked to Philips Academy, and vice versa, you create a wiki link by placing two square brackets in front and behind the word you want to be link, it's not something you need to submit a request for just be bold and do it. hi regarding the above-mentioned subject, why has the draft been rejected. Janani Krishnamurthy -she deserves recognition and is Indias top 100 women icon in and has been awarded for her excellence in the field of animal and environmental welfare. No one from south Inida has got this award before that too a person whos from the rural parts of Tamilnadu. Firstly your draft Draft:Janani Krishnamurthy is totally promotional in tone, with zero indication of notability, you have a clear conflict of interest, an unsuitable user name (promotional) with undisclosed paid editing and user accounts are strictly for single person use. changes made to the Clay Reynolds article

Thank you for your feedback about the 2nd submission of the Clay Reynolds draft article. Unfortunately I have been busy and I wanted to research Wiki policy so I can discuss the editorial issues correctly. I resubmitted it today. Several of the approvers were under the impression that Wikipedia forbids the use of primary sources for biographies of living people. In fact, Wiki has an official policy on the use of self-published sources as sources on themselves and that to do so 5 criteria must be met . In the talk section I explain how my submission follows this policy. I mention also that a similar article about an American author John Updike contains 18 direct quotes from the author and links to about 12 published articles and speeches which were written by the author himself. By my count, my article only includes 2 or 3 direct quotes from the author and about 12-15 links to writings by the author. I will add though that after the 2nd time submitting, I have added several more secondary sources, so I would guess that 2/3 of the references are now from secondary sources. Anyway, I resubmitted it again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robert J Nagle (talkcontribs) 06:37, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

See other poor quality articles exist for that argument, you have not addressed the issues I raised so I will leave it for another reviewer thanks. Theroadislong (talk) 08:50, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

I don't understand your point here. Are you saying that older Wiki articles don't need to follow the same official policies that new ones do? The John Updike article is almost 20 years old, has been well-edited and vetted and is perfectly compatible with the current policy ( WP:ABOUTSELF ) I cited for my submission. I'm sorry if I sound defensive, but I have gone to great lengths to respond to everybody's points and incorporate their feedback. Robert J Nagle (talk) 23:37, 6 December 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for notifying me on the on your review on a draft i submitted. The reference rationale of the draft is as follows: A specific claim is pointed to a credible source that substantiates the claim though the source does not have exhaustive mention of the fact, nevertheless the fact remains undeniable. The citations come from credible media - most of them have their own Wikipedia page. May i request that this draft be considered as a stub - that other volunteers could work on and improve - afterall WikiPedia is a collective enterprise.

I need some more clarification on what are the standards universally and uniformally applied to existing Wiki articles. I found many articles that fall miserably short of any of these standards. Could we discuss on what credibility such articles continue to exist - may be i could learn a few things i missed noticing and do a better job next time. Bruce R. James

Hi there,

Thanks for your comments on the draft. The use of "distinguished" in the description comes from the fact that Mr. James received two distinguished public service awards that carry that very same title. Therefore, in using "distinguished" it was merely paraphrasing the very awards he has received and been recognized for his public service. How would you recommend then I go about describing it if not using the exact title for which he was recognized? Thank you for you insight and assistance with this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VMVS2021 (talkcontribs) 20:22, 8 December 2021 (UTC)

If he received the awards then he might be described as a "Distinguished Nevadan in 2013" you have no source for that though and it doesn't appear to be a notable award? Theroadislong (talk) 20:27, 8 December 2021 (UTC)

10,000 Takes

Hi! I'm new to wikipedia and wanted to make a page about a media company in Minnesota called 10,000 Takes. I saw back in the summer you declined it, saying it needed more independent sourcing. I went and added some more, is it satisfactory now? If not, what all do you need in order to make it approvable?

I see now that the draft page is gone entirely, what happened?

Request on 01:34:17, 15 December 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by MLGraber

I had submitted a draft of an article on a non-profit organization, The Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine. The draft was declined, and the rationale stated was that it sounded too much like an advertisement. I need some advice on how to address this, as I tried to write it in a very neutral tone, and I included a number of citations to outside content areas that can easily be verified (for example the Society's annual conferences, the Society's journal, DIAGNOSIS). The Society is now 10 years old with a number of notable accomplishments in terms of advancing patient safety internationally.

Thanks for any advice.

Publishing a new Wikepedia entry on THE SOCIETY TO IMPROVE DIAGNOSIS IN MEDICINE

Hi Theroadislong,

I believe you were the reviewer for a draft page I submitted on SIDM, the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine. I am a novice Wikipedia author and would value your help addressing the problems you identified and getting this published.

SIDM is now 10 years old, and as a non-profit organization it now has a lengthy list of important contributions to advancing patient safety internationally. The Society has sponsored annual meetings in the US since 2008, and meetings in Australia and Europe over the past several years. The Society has its own journal, DIAGNOSIS. The Society successfully petitioned the Institute of Medicine (now called the The National Academy of Medicine) to conduct and publish a landmark report on patient safety in 2005, 'Improving Diagnosis in Health Care'. The webpage of the Society has a number of valuable resources for patients, physicians, leaders of healthcare organizations, etc.

It seems like posting an article on the organization would be a valuable thing for people to be able to read.

Any advice would be appreciated on how to move this forward.

Thx....

Gary Nader Article Plagiarism Errors

Hi Theroadislong, I see my last edit to the Gary Nader page was reverted. The only reason I changed it was because apparently a number of lines in the article are plagiarised. I don't recall cutting and pasting anything that wasn't changed to make it unique, but I went in to re-write sections that a plagiarism checking software was indicating as problematic. Is this really an issue I should try to fix, or is it possible that a previous copy of the article is being used as the "original" article to which the current one (basically the same article) is being compared and being declared as plagiarism? Also, there is no sense trying to fix it if all my edits will just be reverted anyway. Please advise, thanks in advance. --Glassdaughter (talk) 02:10, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

I'm not seeing this issue using Earwig, however you should restrict your editing to making suggestions on the talk page only as you have a conflict of interest. Theroadislong (talk) 07:55, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

You said on the draft talk page “the page provides information about the services and assets of Acmo Network. All the information that is presented here is from the website of company itself.” this is NOT what Wikipedia is about we have zero interest in what their own website says. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia summarises information that appears in independent reliable sources with significant coverage showing how a topic meets Wikipedia's special definition of notability. Need help in creating a wikipage for my firm CRE Matrix

Hi Theroadislong,

Few months back I tried creating a wiki page for my firm CRE Matrix, as I'm new to this, the page got rejected or was held in review as it didn't match the quality standards. Can you help me form the page.

About my firm CRE Matrix, (www.crematrix.com) it's a real estate data analytics firm based in Mumbai, India. We provide authentic data and research reports in the real estate market for brokers, developers and bankers. We have IndexTap (www.indextap.com) and Floortap a product for our regular consumers that provide authentic data for home buyers/sellers and for renting purposes.

Hence, I will be highly obliged if you could help me create a wiki page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aarya.rane92 (talkcontribs) 12:06, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

Sorry but Wikipedia doesn't host "pages" about companies. Wikipedia is NOT for merely providing information. A Wikipedia article about an organisation must summarise what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about them, showing how it meets Wikipedia's special definition of a notable organisation. Wikipedia has no interest in what you want to say about it only in what others unaffiliated with the business choose to say about it. Theroadislong (talk) 12:08, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

Tatsuro Yamashita

Thank you for your response.

Recently, an "editor" opted to delete another user's 4-months worth of work to the discography (as well as any other subsequent changes over 4 months) ), rather than copy edit it to improve the article . It was obvious the original user was not a native English speaker, but it was also obvious that they provided a great deal of insight and information that is now lacking in the page. The loss of information was a disservice to our community.

I looked at the Japanese wikipedia article and it is even more detailed, and the timeline that I asked for review of its translation provided much of the information removed from the discography. Is that translation acceptable for the page? And how do I get the sources to properly copy over?

I am not the user whose work was impacted, but a light user of the page who used the page for information that became no longer there.

Thanks! Waiata1 (talk) 18:12, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

You can discuss content issues at Talk:Tatsuro Yamashita, it is not something for AFC to be involved with I'm afraid. Theroadislong (talk) 18:16, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

Draft:ChonBlia Yang

Hello,

To answer your comment as follow: This appears to contain a lot of content unconnected to ChongBlia Yang? Theroadislong (talk) 13:34, 20 December 2021 (UTC).

Please take a bit your time to read what I am going to explain. I am not sure if I can explain what you want. However, the purpose of my draft page "ChongBlia Yang" is to talk about "ChongBlia Yang and his descendants who lived in Ban Phou Pheun Noi. Who they are and where they were from?

In fact, ChongBlia Yang is my great-great-grandparent. I am the 6th generation of him. This "draft:ChongBlia Yang" is partially related to another Wikipedia page that is "Ban Phou Pheung Noi".

ChongBlia was a Miao / Hmong people immigrant born in Laos, but his parents and great-grandparents were from China. They are part of the Miao / Hmong people living in the south east Asia countries. In this article, I just want to let people all around the world to know where Miao/Hmong people were from and who they are?

Should ChongBlia Yang page deserves to be in Wikipedia page? I think that should be " yes" for the reasons: [1] he is the paternal of the Yang families who lived in Ban Phou Pheung Noi. These Miao peple have been joined the General Vang Pao military troops during the Vietnam war as US allies. Some of them have been killed in front of the battle fight to save the US military people during this war. {2} ChongBlia Yang is a Miao / Hmong people immigrant to Laos from the Southern of China. There, I want to demonstrate who they are and where do the Miao/Hmong people origin from? What is Miao? Why people call them Miao? What is about tribe and how may tribes they were? This is why I use "ChongBlia Yang page to talk about my origin, especially "Miao / Hmong people". These aborigines died for a mean to the US military during the Vietnam War.

I think this would answer a part of the questions that you left in my talk page. Please let me know if you need some more explanations about this.

Thank you.17:21, 20 December 2021 (UTC) NruasPaoYPP (talk) 17:21, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

I don't doubt that your edits were good faith, but between the editors involved I felt like I was getting contradictory advice. This essay reflects how I felt. Because I just did a Google search for it, I also just found [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:An_unfinished_house_is_a_real_problem] which I haven't read before. Now if you could have shared with me an essay like that, instead of your comment to my request for a better understanding of [[WP:NEXIST]] it would have helped. Amirah talk 21:00, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
The article I published was more at the stage of architectural plans than an unfinished house, but since it was put back to draft I have been working on it, and I feel it is beginning to take shape. I will refrain from moving it to mainspace again before it is ready. Amirah talk 21:16, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Theroadislong, what should be done with this article? Was it one of the Upwork ticketed articles? If so, should connected contributor (paid) be added to the talk page with the user banned tag? I'm also pondering if we need to scrub it out for neutrality or whether it's more likely to be AFD'ed. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 18:27, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

AngusWOOF I don't know if this was one of the Upwork ticketed articles, I accepted it as borderline notable, happy for it to go to AFD or be hacked back, not sure what policy is on undisclosed paid editing, once the article has been accepted? Theroadislong (talk) 19:11, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
If you're convinced the person is notable and that the sources provided are balanced, then it can stay and we can scrub and hack it for promotional tone. It certainly seems like there is coverage in reliable sources; I'm just not sure if it's mainly the good parts that are being covered. If UPE is rampant, then even if the article is scrubbed, it would go to CSD/AFD, and I don't want to waste my time scrubbing if that will happen. I've been burned by that before, scrubbing one of them pretty nicely, but because the other main contributor was paid, it got AFD'ed Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Deborah_Smith_Pegues. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 21:53, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
Normally, the paid editor would self-disclose, and then make edit requests after the article goes into mainspace, no longer directly editing the article. During the draft phase I usually let them keep editing unless the tone indicates they can't do that neutrally. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 21:57, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
GeneralNotability was able to put some ECP salt on it, so experienced editors can go in now and edit for tone. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 02:48, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

Wikipedia page for Jai Prakash Agarwal

Hi Theroadislong, Merry Christmas. I noticed that you declined my submission for Jai Prakash Agarwal due to notability concerns. I would like to bring this to your attention that he is a Padma Shri recipient which is India's fourth highest civilian award. He meets the WP:ANYBIO and qualifies for the Wikipedia page. I could not find much information about him on general web search and this is why I submitted it before expanding further. When the page will be in main space, more editors may find it and expand it further. Mr RD 18:06, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
