Sergei Vasilyevich Kerov

Dear Theroadislong,

I have added to the article on the Russian mathematician Sergei Vasilyevich Kerov some sources from mathematics journals on his works. One paper is by someone who has the Fields Medal and he mentions the results of Kerov in the American Mathematical Society journal. So I hope you see the importance of Kerovs work. I really don't understand that this article for an important subject like mathematics does not get approved but all kinds of unimportant and unworthy for an encyclopedia articles (and sometimes unsourced) get approved. He was influential for mathematics and a university professor. But it still gets not approved--Tensorproduct (talk) 22:09, 19 November 2022 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Hi @Tensorproduct many of us understand the frustration with WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Overtime Wikipedia has rightfully become more stringent so things that were acceptable years ago are not acceptable today and even today with hundreds of articles being created daily, some still get by when they should not. Reviewers can only assess what is put in front of them, not what is already out there as that would be a insurmountable task for the very few that actively review drafts or new articles (and frankly insurmountable for the entire editor base). My best advice is to post on the draft's talk page a brief note stating how they meet the relevant notability guideline (assuming WP:PROF for this one) which will help the next reviewer (ex. they meet PROF #8 because.....). S0091 (talk) 22:26, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
Hi @S0091:, it's not really that I am frustrated about "other stuff", I just don't understand why a mathematician and university professor - from one of the world-leading math research institutes (Steklov institute) - is apparently not relevant? There is even an English translated book by him published by the American Mathematical Society (see https://bookstore.ams.org/mmono-219). --Tensorproduct (talk) 22:36, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
@Tensorproduct then I guess I don't understand why you bothered bringing up other articles but either way it doesn't matter. Like I said, post a note on the draft's talk page with how they meet WP:PROF and of course, be sure there are sources that support the claim(s). S0091 (talk) 22:49, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
@S0091: Well I am not sure what I am now suppossed to do. And I also don't want to waste my time to countlessly re-edit the articles, when I think they do fulfill the criteria to be in an encyclopedia. However let me tell you, I wrote almost 100 advanced mathematics articles for the German Wikipedia and a couple for the French Wikipedia. But these vague and arbitrarily rules of the English Wikipedia are exactly the reason why I don't contribute anymore to mathematics articles in English. --Tensorproduct (talk) 22:59, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
You have now added more sources and it seems possible that they pass WP:NACADEMIC, once the rediect has been deleted it could be accepted. Please note French and German Wikipedia have very different inclusion guidelines to the one. Theroadislong (talk) 23:05, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
Obviously as a mathematics professor at the Saint Petersburg State University (with the honor degree ScD) he fulfilled the point nr. 5 of WP:NACADEMIC since the beginning of my creation of the article. It's multiple times mentioned in my article since the beginning that he was a professor. This is why I don't understand this aversion against the publication of the article. And why mathematics research institutes and mathematical societies are considered "unreliable" is also beyond my understanding.--Tensorproduct (talk) 23:37, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
@S0091: Sorry for pinging again. I was confused and thought you wrote here again. I am also not used to the procedure in the English Wikipedia. So I have written on the talk page of the Kerov article. I hope this is what you meant. Also I have read that Kerov was an associate professor for the university of Iowa and a visiting professor in Harvard. I hope it's now obvious that he was important. Probably more than any of the 100 articles about poets in non-english languages that the user - who started the whole preventing procedure of the Kerov article - created. If you guys still don't want the article to be published, then it's ok, I stop writing here. Apparently nobody follows the rules here and publishing mathematics-related stuff is apparently not important enough.--Tensorproduct (talk) 00:30, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
You guys can delete the article, I will no longer write any new math-related article here in the English Wikipedia again. If you people think mathematics is not relevant enough for Wikipedia, then this is not what I support or a reason to share my mathematics knowledge with. Once again the Wikipedia rules are not applied WP:NACADEMIC. @S0091: You talked "about wasting time", well, how much time did I waste as a mathematician, even though the rule number 5 in WP:NACADEMIC is fulfilled? I rather contribute in German or French, because there mathematics is appreciated and they also follow the rules of Wikipedia.--Tensorproduct (talk) 00:45, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
Tensorproduct Your impatience is extraordinary! When I initially declined your draft you had only two primary sources, you then improved the sourcing and I told you that I would accept but had to wait until until the rediect was deleted, it was accepted this morning by another editor whilst I was getting a few hours sleep, it could have taken up to 4 months but it only took a matter of hours, please slow down. Theroadislong (talk) 08:45, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
Dear Theroadislong, you can decline/delete it, I no longer care. The user who moved it initially to draft said, that he/she thought it was a promotional article. An advertising for a) a mathematician who is b) dead since 22 years.... It's not the first time I experienced such hindrance towards math-related articles. It's no wonder that so few mathematicians work here.--Tensorproduct (talk) 10:53, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
Tensorproduct It was accepted this morning, why would I want to delete it? I have seen zero evidence of hindrance either? Theroadislong (talk) 10:58, 20 November 2022 (UTC)

Merry Ex-mas

Hey there, Theroadislong! I'm sorry that there aren't more sources for the page. I work for the distributor of the film (we didn't have any input in the production) and we're working on getting more awareness out there. For now, this is the information that we have. The movie is currently live on several platforms for rental/purchase, if that helps? JonathanBarkan (talk) 22:38, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

Sorry no. You have clearly misunderstood how Wikipedia works, we only report on what independent reliable sources have reported about a topic, it is not a venue to promote anything. Theroadislong (talk) 22:41, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Oh, we're definitely not planning on putting any links to anywhere that people can rent/purchase the film. That's not our intention. The purpose is to simply create an informational page that will have more information added to it as we get it in. But yeah, no promo links or anything like that. That's not the goal at all. JonathanBarkan (talk) 22:44, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
That is still advertising as far as Wikipedia is concerned. We don't host "informational pages". Theroadislong (talk) 22:48, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
See also Wikipedia:Yes, it is promotion, which specifically addresses your stated into of "getting more awareness out there".-- Ponyobons mots 22:50, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

Hello theroadislong

Thank you very much for letting me know that IMDb and Discogs are not reliable sources. I've removed / changed all references using links to these two websites. Is there anything else you think I can improve before I re-submit the article? Thank you in advance for any suggestions. I'm very new to editing wikipedia, so I very much appreciate any help that you can give.

Hey!

Can you give me some tips for editing the page and what I should do so it gets released? :)

Thanks! Hikage77 (talk) 18:08, 6 November 2022 (UTC)

You will need to find multiple sources that are independent of them and discuss them in significant detail showing how they pass the criteria at WP:NBAND. How do you think they pass the criteria? Theroadislong (talk) 18:12, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the link. Yeah, they only pass in a few. But the draft won't be deleted, right?! So I can edit it if things change and then publish again, right?! Hikage77 (talk) 09:02, 24 November 2022 (UTC)

can you review this article ? Ahmedemad665 (talk) 19:36, 24 November 2022 (UTC)

I probably spent too much time giving this draft as much attention as I have, but thanks for chiming in on the user's talk. I see too many template-only declines and not enough "here are all the steps to success" layed out for (especially) first-time drafters. *shrugs* - UtherSRG (talk) 17:16, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

Hey!

today you declined one of my drafts due to the fact that the text "looks like an advertising promotion", and all links are given to materials allegedly written by the author of the profile itself (but it's not true)

here is a link to that article — Draft:Charity fund Blagomay

I want to clarify that I (as the author of this wiki article) have nothing to do with the company directly, all references are submitted for materials from different sources (none of them were written by me), and the profile itself is a direct translation of the approved text from the Ukrainian Wikipedia Елизавета Карпюк (talk) 22:39, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

The draft is entirely promotional, the guidelines for other language Wikipedia are very different to those in the Engliah version. Theroadislong (talk) 22:44, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

Adminship

How do I send a request for adminship or bureaucrat?

Elijah Wilder (talk) 15:20, 30 November 2022 (UTC)

Elijah Wilder You don't, see Wikipedia:Adminship is not for new users, you will need thousands of edits and a thorough understanding of Wikipedia before you even think about it, I've been here 16 years or so with more than 200,000 edits and I don't consider I could be an admin! Theroadislong (talk) 15:31, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
It's not wise Elijah Wilder. It takes years of reputation from great edit contributions to be suitable for adminship. There is no chance you would be successful at this time. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:32, 30 November 2022 (UTC)

Digital Museums Canada wiki page

Hi, this page was created because there was a note on the Virtual Museums page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Museum_of_Canada that it needed to be split, and there is interest internally to have a specific page for Digital Museums Canada, as Virtual Museums Canada has been replaced by Digital Museums Canada. I have resubmitted the page but am not certain there are enough strictly independent and reliable sources to allow the entry to pass. Any suggestions you can provide would be welcome. Why you declined Submission of Dr. Kannan Vishwanatth?

You just declined the submission of Dr. Kannan Vishwanatth. All patents, research works and qualification are there. He deserve the place on wikipedia as he invented many important things. I also mentioned reference link of news blog. What was the exact reason to declined the submission? May I know the reason behind that? Ddpatel0591 (talk) 20:03, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

Blogs are not usually considered reliable sources, but in any case your draft Draft:Dr. Kannan Vishwanatth was deleted twice today as blatant advertising and you have been blocked. You might have miss-understood how Wikipedia works. 22:45, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

Advance ZincTek page

Hi, you recently declined the page Draft:Advance ZincTek. I understand you are well versed in reviewing pages, as your record suggests, and if you have the time, I would appreciate your feedback on the page. On the review you mention sources as a problem but, in my opinion, Draft:Advance ZincTek has reliable sources relative to similar pages; Merck Group, Woolworths Group (Australia), Jira (software) and arguably Draft:Advance ZincTek has a similar tone. I am wondering whether it is the structure of the pages and if so, how would you recommend to amend it to make it more notable? My general alarm over the lack of sunscreen related articles has resulted in pushback before like when I tried to make pages covering the major zinc oxide powders since I assumed that people would like to understand what they are putting on their skin or their kids and where it is made. However the label "This article may have been created or edited in return for undisclosed payments" is false and upsetting given the amount of my time I put into the page as the creator. I was wondering what you would recommend doing in this situation given that you and Girth Summit seem like experts. Obviously improving the article was your concern, but it feels like as a company related topic it does not need anything more written about it and more text would only make it sound less notable. So, are there parts you would recommend deleting? Or would it make sense to revert the page prior to when the sock-puppet user Fifthapril ruined it? I have put a lot of time into this page, but a lot more elsewhere on Wikipedia, would just deleting Draft:Advance ZincTek clear my record? Since I do not want to be associated with it given the current banner. DemocratGreen (talk) 00:48, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

It reads in a very promotional and informal manner (eg."came to believe they had lost their community focus as Gannett emphasized convergence" and "Convergence can be a boon for newspapers when their leaders are committed, focused, share past working relationships and a similar corporate culture...), a Wikipedia article summarizes what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic showing how they meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable business. In Wikipedia terms decline would mean there was a chance of it being accepetd after improvement, rejection means that the topic just isn't suitable for Wikipedia, how for instance would they pass the criteria at WP:GNG? Theroadislong (talk) 16:37, 9 December 2022 (UTC)

How about being nice and help in making it less "just blatant advertising" as you claim? I am new here and would expect more professional help and support. and No, it is not "just blatant advertising"! 46.244.90.165 (talk) 21:14, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Theroadislong is a volunteer, like the rest of us, not a professional. And I know that I feel less than no interest whatsoever in wasting my volunteer hours helping anybody who wants to advertise or publicize their business or a company they work for, because that's not what Wikipedia is for. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:20, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Thanks, you put my exact thoughts into words. Theroadislong (talk) 21:22, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

You are claiming that I want to "advertise or publicize their business or a company they work for", which is a false claim and you have no write to accuse others of such a thing. I am not advertising my business nor working for them. I have nothing to do with them at all. I just wanted to write an article about a restaurant that I thought it has an interesting story, as there are thousands of articles on wikipedia about other restaurants that have very similar information to what I wrote. and Since your time is very precious, maybe you should not waste in writing offensive comments to others, and try to waste it doing something else. If you want to help, you are welcome. But if you want to offend others, then go somewhere else. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.244.90.165 (talk) 21:41, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

Four very experienced editors have told you the draft is advertising, you might want to read WP:YFA. for help. Theroadislong (talk) 21:56, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

Draft: Autosphere

I'd like to know what is going wrong with what I do on this page: Draft:Autosphere

This is not advertising. The page has no difference with hundreds of other pages that have been validated like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_(magazine). Please, just be fair and impartial.

I quoted the page with sources from the BANQ (National Archives Bank of Quebec). You asked me for more relevant sources and to reduce the content because it wasn't supported enough. This is exactly what I did and now you are talking about advertising.

Can there be the same law for everyone here please ?

Thanks. JujuKP (talk) 15:48, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

See other stuff exists. Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about something or someone Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. Theroadislong (talk) 15:51, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Please have a look on BANQ (National Archives Bank of Quebec): https://cap.banq.qc.ca/notice?id=p::usmarcdef_0006408334&posInSet=1&queryId=9f8c585d-0c2d-4301-adb2-6769d90cb812
I can remove the other quotes if you want, but you can't tell me that the BANQ isn't a reliable source which is not showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability.
More informations here: https://www.banq.qc.ca/banq-glance/ JujuKP (talk) 15:54, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
The definition of the BANQ itself is: Culture and heritage freely accessible to all.
They only archive medias which are parts of the history of Quebec. JujuKP (talk) 16:00, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
It doesn't look remotely like a reliable source to me, but I am not reviewing the draft again, I will leave it for another reviewer. Theroadislong (talk) 16:02, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Ok but once again, there's nothing to do with advertising. Your comment isn't related with what you are saying right now. It looks like relentlessness. If you don't consider the BANQ as a reliable source, it just goes against what it represents in Quebec. JujuKP (talk) 16:11, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Please be fair and at least update your comment with the correct details JujuKP (talk) 16:12, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

The source [1] is just a listing, references need to discuss the topic in significant detail to be of use. Theroadislong (talk) 16:16, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

Please get other opinions at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation since you don't value mine. Theroadislong (talk) 16:24, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
That's why I put other sources (like lapresse.ca which discuss the subject in depth: https://www.lapresse.ca/auto/actualites/201109/12/01-4443202-lhiver-doux-deplait-aux-mecaniciens.php) to meet the requirements of these criterias:
Significant?
Independent?
Reliable?
Secondary?
I found hundreds of wikipedia pages which are not quoted as this one is. That's why it sounds like relentlessness. JujuKP (talk) 16:28, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Honestly, educate yourself on Quebec culture and Quebec's unbiased media. It sounds more like misunderstanding on your part. JujuKP (talk) 16:34, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Could you please put a moderator from Quebec on this subject ? I guess it will help to evaluate how the quotes are significants, reliables, and independents. JujuKP (talk) 16:41, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
There are zero moderators on Wikipedia just editors? As I said above you are free to get other opinions at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation since you don't value mine. I will not review your draft Draft:Autosphere again. Since I have made more than 200,000 edits on Wikipedia and you have made 43 edits you might give me the benefit of doubt. Theroadislong (talk) 16:45, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
This is not a comparison my friend. We are talking about culture. Moderator or Editor, call it what you want, no problem. I'm just saying that 1) you're wrong when you talk about advertising 2) you don't consider the sources at their fair value 3) the law is not the same for everyone here when I see the tons of unsourced publications that are validated 4) a Quebec publisher will surely better understand all of this 5) your comments will surely play on the decision of the person who will judge the publication. JujuKP (talk) 22:05, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
And I repeat you are free to get other opinions at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation since you don't value mine. Theroadislong (talk) 22:09, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
I value yours. I'm just saying your wrong when you're talking about advertising. And secondly, that you're not considering the BANQ and lapresse.ca as the good sources they are. Are they independent ? yes. Reliable ? yes. Significant ? yes. Did you take the time to read the article form lapresse and what they are saying about Autosphere ? Yes, the quote from the BANQ is just a listing, but, they are just archiving publications which are part of the Quebec culture. I don't know what I can do to me more accurate. Theroadislong: Help me to get it Publish

Hey Theroadislong, Thank you to reviewing my Article. You Deny it, no problem. Kindly share some reason and Advice to help me to publish this. Thanks Ambikapati23 (talk) 17:43, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

Sorry but Draft:Subhash Nayakrout does not appear to be notable in Wikipedia terms. Theroadislong (talk) 17:46, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
Specifically, the draft must answer the question "How is this person/place/thing/etc notable per Wikipedia's notability policy?" That answer will have a different set of criteria depending on the type of subject the article is about. In this case, WP:ARTIST poses the following criteria:
  1. The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors; or
  2. The person is known for originating a significant new concept, theory, or technique; or
  3. The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the primary subject of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews, or of an independent and notable work (for example, a book, film, or television series, but usually not a single episode of a television series); or
  4. The person's work (or works) has: (a) become a significant monument, (b) been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) won significant critical attention, or (d) been represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums.
If you cannot demonstrate the answer to any of these criteria, using the required sources, then there is no improvement that can be made to the draft to make it acceptable for the encyclopedia. UtherSRG (talk) 17:51, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
Yes, But as per your point 3 he are coming from Indian Film Background and Awarded too Ambikapati23 (talk) 17:54, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
Sorry but "best filmmaker in his college" is NOT a notable award! Theroadislong (talk) 17:58, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
Ok, got ur point. in result is this page will deleted? Ambikapati23 (talk) 18:00, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
In six months, per WP:CSD#G13, yes. UtherSRG (talk) 18:03, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for your feedback

Dear Theroadislong,

Thank you for your feedback on my article "Lee Jae-yoon (singer)". I have revised the article to address your concerns of it being "not in a neutral tone". I believe I have removed any subjective / biased language. I have tried my best to make is more factual and encyclopedic. I have resubmitted it for review, and would greatly appreciate if you could take another look to see if I have sufficiently addressed your concerns.

Sincerely, Whatsauthentic Whatsauthentic (talk) 18:58, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

Hi

Thanks for review https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:AliSS These are reliable resources Not all resources should be come from NYtimes 🤗 The singer is notable and references are added and there is no misleading info I don’t understand rejection I think it’s because the person is from Iraq and all the world hate people from that country and this is racism Many articles found in wikipedia is even without references and published and approved I think you should please recheck the article and you can search the artist name on google you can see that he is notable Joelmatomi (talk) 14:24, 15 December 2022 (UTC)

Press releases are not reliable independent sources your absurd accusation of racism is totally inappropriate Theroadislong (talk) 14:28, 15 December 2022 (UTC)

I have no personal thing with you bro I meant what iraqi people face difficulties in most situations worldwide because of their origin At all i wish to to take consideration to check and take another look at the article which i think is suitable as article on wikipedia and the person is notable Im sorry also and you can delete it at all and block my account Thanks Joelmatomi (talk) 14:37, 15 December 2022 (UTC)

I am not an admin, I cannot delete anything or block you and have no desire to. You need to find reliable sources that cover him in-depth with significant coverage, but not press releases which are not independent. Theroadislong (talk) 14:43, 15 December 2022 (UTC)

resubmission of the article Draft:Christian Dugardeyn

Hello @Theroadislong, Thank you for your prompt feedback. My article includes national and specialized sources in painting. I have taken into account your remarks and I have added new sources. I hope they will be sufficient for my article to be accepted. As a reminder, this same article is available on Wikipedia in French (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Dugardeyn) I remain available for any additional information. Sincerely Pommeverte2022 (talk) 00:08, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

ok. so, shall i remove them all or you will? also, i would like to hear your opinion about it now? how does it look? will it pass? thanks 37.76.211.149 (talk) 14:12, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

My edit here [2] stopped them being displayed, I will leave the draft for another reviewer to see. Theroadislong (talk) 14:59, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
ok, thanks ~~ 37.76.211.149 (talk) 15:56, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

Dr. Ann Therriault

Hello, you have reviewed my article. I am wondering and hoping you could be more specific and perhaps tell me what is accurate and what is not. I have hired a great writer editor to help and we are at a loss. We need explicit guidance. PLEASE. Thank you, Cheryl Driskell Cdriskell333! (talk) 21:58, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

Your draft was declined because it fails the general notability guidelines and it's not clear how they would pass WP:NPROF either. Undisclosed paid editing is also against the terms and conditions of editing here, please make the required disclosure on your user page. Theroadislong (talk) 22:13, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

Changes to Ron Weighell article.

Hi, and thanks for your note. Can you be more specific please as to which change needs a citation of a reliable source? I made two changes - the first was to tidy up existing text added by another editor some months ago: a mention of some quotes provided by Weighell for a James Blush publication; the second was new text referencing the inclusion of a newly published story, The Malleus Bone. Thanks in advance. 51.9.79.227 (talk) 04:52, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

I've just realised that the issue was probably with the reference to Weighell's family working to reduce further material. I can't argue with that - the perils of making changes last thing at night. Nick Goodall (talk) 05:57, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

hi can you help fix it please i don't speak wiki but she was the only bipoc main character on the show (which is mainstream) and also the only main character without a wikipedia page! 73.170.203.143 (talk) 05:12, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

I don't speak Wiki either? Your draft was declined because IMDb is not a reliable source and you didn't show how they pass the criteria at WP:NACTOR, we don't have articles about everybody, they need to be shown to be notable. Theroadislong (talk) 06:59, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

Draft for Ceosonson

All of the edits you said change, and I did that. Which part needs to be fixed? And thank you so much for your help. Paulettepassionwilliams (talk) 10:25, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

You have changed nothing at Draft:Ceosonson? It all needs re-writing in neutral tone. Theroadislong (talk) 10:28, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
My apologies, I'm changing it now, and thanks again Paulettepassionwilliams (talk) 10:31, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

Changes to Ron Weighell article

I meant "publish" not "reduce" - damned predictive text!

Best wishes and season's greetings. Nick Goodall (talk) 10:44, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

Actor SM Sivakumar - Page Declined

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Actor_SM_Sivakumar

Hi! Want to know why this got declined? Actor SM Sivakumar (talk) 15:12, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

Because there was zero evidence that you are notable in Wikipedia terms and it seems that it has now been deleted as "unambiguous advertising or promotion, self written vanity page". Theroadislong (talk) 16:00, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

I'm afraid that your draft has zero chance of being accepted, it has no sources, Facebook and Instagram cannot be used to establish notability. Theroadislong (talk) 17:25, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

Establishing Notability

Hey,

I just removed all those references which were their own websites from Draft:ESPNcricinfo Awards, by leaving independent sources. But, now I have no idea how to proceed this article to establish notability.. What should I do now? Please guide me with some examples if possible. Thanks. Hello, Theroadislong. Thank you for your work on D. Damodaran Potti. User:MPGuy2824, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Please try to de-orphan articles after accepting them at AFC.

Since when has it become part of the WP:AFC process to de-orphan articles? Theroadislong (talk) 07:12, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
I don't know if it is or isn't, but my request was to try to de-oprhan after your AFC accept. This is more important since you have the autopatrolled right, and hence a New Page Reviewer will not see the page as part of their normal duties. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:06, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

My article about Neuschwanstein (band)

Hello,

I would like to respond to your question about how the article can „pass" as follows. The enumeration does not represent a ranking in terms of the importance of the enumeration.

1. the article can „pass" because it is comparatively better than the article about the band Anekdoten. The sources on this band are poor, partly even dead. So why should an article about Anekdoten in the English Wikipedia have more permanence than my article about Neuschwanstein? If my article on Neuschwanstein has no relevance to the English Wikipedia, then the article on Anekdoten should be deleted as well.

2. this article exists in Dutch, German, French and Portuguese Wikipedia.

3. there are two articles on Neuschwanstein in the English Wikipedia, namely on her two albums Battlement and Fine Art. So why shouldn't there also be an article about the band itself? Otherwise the two articles make no sense.

4. the importance of the group is also proven, in my opinion, by the fact that a new edition of their 2008 album "Alice in Wonderland“ (recorded in 1976 on tape) has just been released. A lot of effort was put into restoring the old recordings during the production. The Curved Air singer Sonja Kristina was hired to re-voice the lyrics translated into English. The record company itself speaks of the significance: "Musically this 1976 album belongs among the great prog albums and sits between Rick Wakeman's and Jeff Wayne's iconic narrated albums. The only album in the 'Narrated Rock' genre to be unavailable in English until now." Unfortunately you deleted my article about the original album because it was supposedly not worth mentioning enough and had no notabilty, so you said. Now I would have to recreate it.

5. no one can actually deny that the group has no relevance, given the sheer number of reviews and reports on the internet about their album Battlement alone. Really worldwide, from north to south, from east to west, there are hundreds of articles just about this album. And the group doesn't have any notability?

Kind regards -- Remembergeorge (talk) 11:24, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

The fact that other poor quality articles exist is not a good argument for creating another see WP:OSE. The fact that articles exist in other languages is also irrelevant, each country has different guidelines, you have not shown how the band passes WP:NBAND. I am not saying "the group has no relevance"? Another reviewer will no doubt take a look soon. Theroadislong (talk) 15:13, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

The Origins of Cascade Mountain Ski Area (article)

I redid the reference page for this article and never heard back. The references come from articles written back in the 1950's and 1960's. We did the best we could for references. They come from the historical society in Portage Wisconsin. All were checked with Raymond J. Cook (owner of Cascade at the time)

to make sure they were factual.

Sincerely, Leslie Jackson, daughter of Raymond J. Cook

Just a note; I really wanted to give this approved article to him for Christmas. Wildwestles (talk) 19:58, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

I'm afraid your draft Draft:The Origins of Cascade Mountain Ski Area reads nothing like an encyclopaedia article it appears to be promoting something with which you have a conflict of interest. Theroadislong (talk) 20:01, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
