WUDS-LP

Hi, I'm unclear on what you are meaning when you say "NOT any sort of source" regarding the sources you removed. They are documents filed by the General Manager of WUDS-LP with the Federal Communications Commission, a US Government agency. US Government sources are some of the most reliable we use, so I'm also unclear on how it's not "a reliable independent one". Could you elaborate? It was a downloadable document which merely said "Silent Status Due to staffing difficulties the Station has been taken silent. We respectfully request 180 days in which to remain silent." It is a primary source and not acceptable. Theroadislong (talk) 19:37, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
Yes, that was the second source, the first source showed the Request for Silent Authority of a Low Power FM Station Application completed form from the FCC. You will note the downloadable document link at the very bottom. If you would have looked a little further, you would see the secondary source was removed by an anon user. I am aware of that, but Facebook can be used as a secondary or confirming source. There is some conflicting information, I believe, between the official Facebook page of the station and the FCC documents. Via a just completed Google search, I can actually toss the Facebook post and add a local newspaper source for the secondary. Hi, My submission has been rejected due to a lack of notable citations. I can understand this to an extent as the subject matter may be considered 'local' - it is a series of stones. I have submitted references but they are, in turn, also local. I am not sure what else I can add to this without referring my own work, which I realise is not acceptable. Without any further suggestions to make this possible I was wondering if - as the stones already have a mention on another wikipedia page - it would be possible for a shorter version would be acceptable as a section edited in on that other page? many thanks. When I am reviewing for AFC is there any particular threshold for when a draft should be sent to MfD? (I think Draft:DECT-2020 is an obvious one.)

I think this is subjective, some admins are happy to delete drafts like this, others prefer for them to sit there for 6 months and then be deleted, I now tend not to bother with nominating drafts once they are rejected. Theroadislong (talk) 16:02, 8 November 2023 (UTC)

She's certainly notable: lots of attention in Taiwanese cinema history, and probably meets WP:NACTOR and WP:GNG just off the English sources. @SaneFlint Please do not take this personally. The hardest thing in Wikipedia is to create an article that meets every single requirement. I confirm that it was a borderline acceptance. I feel it is on the correct side of the border. Theroadislong has a different view. That they and I disagree is fine. That you and they disagree is fine. Disagreement makes us better when we handle it well.
What happens now is that the discussion will run and a consensus will be formed from the policy based arguments presented in the discussion. In the meantime, please find excellent references to show that the subject passes WP:BIO. Do not do it im desperation. Do it simply and with accuracy. Take your time together it right, but do not take too much time.

The sources are independent, reliable, and secondary. Also, they do not simply mention the subject once or twice but discuss his work in detail independently.

Sayyid Nidawi quote was found easily with a best quality in yad e Raftagan, while Sanaullah Amritsari quote was printed in 1960s, imagine finding references of 1960 in English language isn't easy but all other information are here available to us only in Sindhi and Urdu. Have a look at the history, if only to see which material was removed by three or four different editors, and why--the sourcing is just particularly bad. For instance, a self-published book had an Amazon link to the book, an Amazon link to the co-author, and a review in a fanzine; and another self-published book was "verified" by an Kirkus Indie link--which are paid reviews. Please consider whether the editor's latest edit, which restored poorly sourced promotional material and removed a COI template (for the third time, I believe), should be reverted and the editor warned or partially blocked for promotional editing.
