Also the Reerow-Xassan page should be merged with the Asharaf, as it is a sub-clan of the Asharaf) --AbwaanRooble (talk

Merge with Ashraf[edit]

This page should most likely be merged with Ashraf. --IamNotU (talk) 01:03, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The baseless claims that been made by the Somali indigenous of being blood related to the older brother of Sayed Ali Bin Abi Dhalib.[edit]

What is very striking here is the pure Somalis to have blood lineage to the our ancestors such as Quraysh or Ahl Al Bayt is unbelievable.

We the Ashraf Bin Alawi and Ashraf Bin Hasan came to Somalia as merchants from Makkah, Saudi Arabia and settled down for many years in Somalia, and Somalians have always highly regarded us and respected us all those years that they have lived close proximity to us in Shingani and Marca (Marka Cadeey) the Somali clans and older clans have never claimed to have blood lineage to Quraysh or Ahl Al Bayt but up until now and the beginning of Somali civil war we the Ashraf Bin Alawi and Ashraf Bin Hasan came to notice the true Somalis claiming to have blood lineage to our ancestors and it’s very bizarre twists that since when Somalians have Arabic blood one must ask this him self?

If you look at many Arab tribes who came from Arabian Peninsula such as Ashraf, Al Hatimi, Duruqbo, Shaanshi, Gaametle and Camuudi have the same futuristic, same core values, same culture and the same way of life which is different to the Somalian culture, Somalian futuristics, like face, nose, skin colour, hair type and Somalian way of life.

Even when one looks at those Arabs who lived in Somalia have different skin colour and skin tone, different type of hair and how they dress ethically is totally different than the true Somalis.

Especially the Ashraf tribe of Ashraf Bin Alawi and Ashraf Bin Hasan have segregated amongst the Somalis because they didn’t have the same outlook as the Somalis.

Ashraf Bin Alawi and Ashraf Bin Hasan have always held in superiority when it comes to work ethics such as they were largely involved in Import and Export, Textiles, Growers, Industrialist, Merchants and Real Estate in Property Developers and where the Somalians were holding the government positions at all times where the other Arabs also been involved in developing other sector of services in Somalia period.

The Ashraf and other tribes in Marca (Marka Cadeey) and Shingaani and Xamar Weyne such as Al Hatimi, Duruqbo, Shaanshi, Gameetle and Camuudi are all originated from the Arabian Peninsula and we all have have more or less the very same skin colour and hair type as you would see in the Arab world and you can always pick us up from the majority Somali clans as we always standout from the crowd because of our look and futuristic and our culture is pure Arab.

Since Somalia joined the League of Arab States (Arab League) in 1974, becoming the first non-Arab member of that organisation. A seat in the Arab League meant potential economic fortunes and political (military and diplomatic) support, make no mistake it does not mean Somalians are Arabs or are the blood lineage to the Quraysh tribe or Ahl Al Bayt at all whatsoever. Somalians are pure African or maybe Amharic descendent but definitely not Arabs.

We all know those Arabs who have lived donkey years as Arab Merchants from the Arabian Peninsula.

Look at the Ashraf, look at Al Hatimi, Look at Duruqbo, Look at Shaanshi, Look at Gameetle and Look at Camuudi tribes and then please look at Somalians they have no connections apart from being a Muslim and we don’t have any other common values.

So let me ask you if you are a Somali National, please; Since when you suddenly become Ahl Al Bayt? And since when you have the same blood lineage to Aqil Ibn Abi Dhalib? Please give me a break and don’t come up with baseless claims oh yeah we are Ahl Al Bayt we are Arabs… Number one; Non “nada” Somali indigenous look like these Arabs such as; Ashraf, Al Hatimi, Duruqbo, Shaanshi, Gameetle and Camuudi and number two; Somalians don’t even speak Arabic language before the civil war in Somalia until they refuged to all over the world and those who have always spoken Arabic language was such as the; Ashraf and other Arabs like Al Hatimi, Duruqbo, Shaanshi, Gameetle and Camuudis who have lived in Somalia for many many years.

Thirdly, Somalians and Arabs who have lived in Somalia don’t even have the same type of dish when it comes to also authentic Arabic food, Culture, Core Values, way of life, Dress code and so on, so forth and etc. Our females cover up from head to toes as you would see in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Emirates, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain. And just now since the civil war in Somalia you have allowed to mingle with us and as a Somalians have learned a lot about us and how to cook our food, dress up like female Arabs and etc.

It is a beggars believe now all of the sudden Somalians claim to be Ashraf indigenous, some times you hear them claiming to be Ahl Al Bayt and then jumping to be an Arab common you truly know who you are and what you are please stay that way.

As a minority in Somalia you as Somalians never allowed us to claim we are Somali and you have always told us we are not Somalians and called us names and god knows what such as (F*to Cas), (Dhego Cas) and (Timo Jilec), so why now you want to be us and you want to be Arab and then you want to be Ahl Al Bayt.

Let’s put this to bed once for all and let’s us know who you Somalian real are it sounds like your completely lost souls and not know exactly where you truly originated from, at least we know Ashraf where they are originated from and other Arab ethnicities in Somalia.

I look forward to healthy debate and have engaging discussion so everyone knows what, where, and who? Thanks you in advance for your contribution Inshaallah. Sharifhashimi (talk) 04:26, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

According to Lewis 1961, pp. 11-13, whom we cite in the article, most Somali clans claim ancestry from Aqil ibn Abi Talib. At Wikipedia, we follow reliable sources like that.
