Importance[edit]

@Magiciandude: Hey, I was wondering if this list's importance could be promoted from low to at least mid. WikiProject Latin music states that subjects from low-importance articles (and I suppose lists too) are "not particularly notable or significant even within its field of study". Daddy Yankee was cited many times as one of the most relevant figures in reggaeton music, so he is actually notable or relevant within its field.

I think this should be a mid-importance list, because the project states that its subjects are "only notable within a particular field or topic and has achieved notability in a particular place or area" and "Examples include artists who have received honors in recognition of their work, such as a lifetime achievement award". Daddy Yankee has won at least two awards for his career (Billboard and People en Español Festival) and more recently he became the first urban act to receive a Puerto Rican Walk of Fame Star. I don't think he is "only notable within a particular field" but at the sime time maybe he doesn't fit in the high-importance rate ("essential to understanding Latin music", "well-known and influential in Latin music"). He would fit there for being "well-known internationally" or being well-known "even to those who may not be familiar with the genre" but I think a mid-importance rate should be the better option. What do you think? Brankestein (talk) 22:38, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
