Re:Harry and the Potters discography (second FL nomination)[edit]

Hello. Before, I submit Harry and the Potters discography for featured list status again, I would like to contact past opposes to ask if they would support the article at its new state. I have included a large thirteen item section, entitled 'Live releases' and the article is now larger than featured articles (not lists), Exploding whale and Pilot (House), aswell as featured list Nation of Ulysses discography. Do you believe it is ready for a second nomination, as I cannot find another negative point, apart from it was too small (and I agree it was). Thankyou Hpfan9374 (talk) 22:11, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In one word; no. In another forty five; the band have done hundreds of shows 1 2 3 for a few, this list is a section of only their recorded venues, available at to download. It is quite like Pearl Jam Official Bootlegs, yet only some events are recorded. Thanks. Hpfan9374 (talk) 01:58, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay thanks, I'll look for an experienced discography editor. Thankyou! Hpfan9374 (talk) 07:19, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Juno bare refs[edit]

Nice additions to Juno. It's great content. One thing though -- it looks as though you've added a lot of bare URL refs to the article, which until now had a pretty clean set of references, mostly by using cite templates. Personally, I prefer to type refs by hand, but either way, by hand or by template, it's good form to complete your citations properly. It would be great if you cleaned them up. Nice work, it looks like a good article. However I saw your comment over at T:TDYK saying that you've used "Wakefield" in the title to distinguish from other Daniel Smiths. If he's not commonly referred to with his middle name, might Daniel Smith (photojournalist) be more appropriate as a title considering WP:DAB#Biographies? Cheers —97198 talk 09:23, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I considered doing that — but the problem is that he's noted not just for his work as a photojournalist, but also for his work as a musician and for the radio drama recreations. I thought that using (photojournalist) as a disambiguator might not acknowledge the diversity of his work enough. But I'm willing to go with what other folks think on this. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 09:37, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see where you're coming from. Know if there's any guidance from MoS naming conventions or WP:DAB on the matter, if there's no primary disambiguator? —97198 talk 12:23, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't been able to find any. Incidentally, Smith does use his middle initial (his website is at danielwsmith.com), but Daniel W. Smith is ambiguous with Daniel Wayne Smith (who didn't always use his middle name either, it seems). —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 16:57, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inline citations at DYK[edit]

I notice that you have on several occasions declined DYK noms based on no inline citations. However, inline citations are not a requirement for DYK noms if you read the policies at the top of the page. I would encourage you not to decline noms for lack of citations when the sources are adequately cited in another manner. In the case of William Turner (composer)‎ no online references were used (as it isn't a subject one can find online references on unless you have a paid subscription to the Grove Encyclopedia of Music) and only two offline references were used, both of which are considered to be the best resources for the subject matter. In such cases I find inline citations to be unecessary due to the subjects being offline and only a limmited number of references used (and in this case all the information in the article can be found in both references making citations pointless). Common practice at DYK is to look at the sources listed and if they are quality accepting the offline sources in good faith. I encourage you to rethink your comment. Thanks.Nrswanson (talk) 13:19, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • It seems pointless to use inline citations in this case. I am going to take this to the DYK talk page.Nrswanson (talk) 13:32, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • If I cite only part of the article and not all of it with inline citations then a discriminating reader will question the accuracy of the uncited material.Nrswanson (talk) 13:39, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It seems pointless but I went ahead and put in inline citations.Nrswanson (talk) 14:00, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gaius Charles[edit]

Nice work on the Gaius Charles article. He grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey where I live and I had added a few hometown facts, but never got around to expanding the article. Trébuchon DYK[edit]

Hi

Don't worry... I'm not taking offence at Augustin Trébuchon (French soldier not being picked. I'm concerned, though, that you think it doesn't exist. Have I done something wrong? When I click it, it works. Any thoughts? Les woodland (talk) 08:00, 12 November 2008 (UTC)les woodland[reply]

Trébuchon again[edit]

I'm not sure what ghits are but, when I click the reference, it would seem you've searched not under Trébuchon but Trébuchet. Not the same name, of course. Les woodland (talk) 08:02, 12 November 2008 (UTC)les woodland[reply]

Thanks. That probably explains why I am not allowed sharp objects in here! :-) Sorry. I am as red-faced as the link. Re: exams[edit]

:D Lol, I saw it on your talk page, and I thought it looked good so I copied it onto mine. I have done one, and there's five to go within the next two weeks. Ergh, I better get studying, but I'll probably ace them as usual! lol, how did you go? Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 09:10, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the Veronica Mars review. I have fixed most issues, however a few need another look. I might be a bit slow responding; I had one exam today, and will have four in the three days, but I'll try to check in. :) Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 12:01, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yay, finally finished! I actually regret even studying for most (if not all) of them. They were quite easy, so I'm eagerly anticipating the results. :D Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 04:34, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, not sure yet. My family and I are going to Sydney in January, so I'm looking forward to that. :) Lol, I hate running out of credit for broadband. I only have a few days left until mine restarts, so I'm downloading everything I can now. Got any plans yourself? Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 06:02, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I didn't know you live in Sydney. I guess that makes up rivals, huh? Lol. I really want to go to the open this year and support Federer. Yeah, I'm a DIE-HARD Federer supporter. I still can't believe he lost to Nadal last year; that was the most gripping match I have ever seen, and Federer should've won. Who do you support? Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 06:24, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Djokovic? Eww, sorry, the whole "Nole" thing really annoys me. And the fact that he beat Federer aggravates me even more; although he is alright, I suppose. I haven't been to the Open yet, :O I know, I'm too lazy and just watch it on tv. I was planning to this year, however I'm going to Sydney, so, I'll have to see. I'm going out now, so if you reply, I'll try to respond asap. Talk to you soon, Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 07:11, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My pleasure. I was looking at the article, and nice job with the revamp. I considered reviewing it, but I think it would be a bit wierd, you know, it's usually you reviewing my articles. Anyways, was the film and good? I guess you thought it was, since you spent your time working on the article. Good enough for a download? :O You remembered? Thanks, and yes, it is my real birthday. I was also actually born in New Zealand; I can't really remember why I wrote France :S Thanks for the comments, I'll get right on them, and how was your holiday/trip? "no TV, no internet and no phone lines/reception"... how did you survive????? Lol, I guess people these days rely on technology way too much. Thanks, I had a great day and an extra yummy zebra cake, although it looked nothing like the one in the picture. Anyways, I think I have addressed all your concerns in the FLC, please take another look. :) Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 14:12, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hahahaha, yes, lol. I always press enter too quick, and my edit summaries regularly contain jumbled letters, or in cases like this one, things that make no sense at all. Kk, I look forward to the review in the morning. Ironically, I was watching the latest ep of Prison Break when you were reviewing the article/list. Anyways, have a good night too. Now that it's school holidays I end up staying up 'till way past my bedtime (not that I have one). I also have relatives sleeping over from the Gold Coast, and the snoring is deafening me (even though they're all the way downstairs!!! :X) As you can tell from my incoherent comment I am quite tired, so I better be off to bed. 'Night. :D Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 14:27, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the support. :D (Although I've probably said that five times now :S) But I'm still grateful. The year 12's just got their VCE/ENTER results here (actually, it was two days ago). Luckily I'm not affected yet. ;) Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 00:40, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DYK Nom Lisa Rossbacher[edit]

I didn't realize I had deleted someone's nom when I wrote mine, I hope it was fixed. I'm not very cultured in writing a bio on someone, I've been using the university's web page, some news articles, and the university system of Georgia's web page for sources and references. Everything I write it sourced from those articles. I saw your discussion notices on the article on Lisa Rossbacher, what specifically needs improvement? Should I put a reference link after every "claim" to something? I much appreciate the help, I want to grow in my skills! Sirkevinalot (talk) 16:06, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Friends[edit]

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I originally intended to rewrite most of the article, but after checking out the stuff on google (and seeing that most of it is about the finale), I think I will take the lazy way and just ref the unsourced info. I'm aiming for GA, but I may take longer than I usually do when working on other projects. I'll try to incorporate some filming info about the apartment, which hopefully shouldn't be to hard to find. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 02:24, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I was confused by the whole "Agent" or "agent" thing. Btw, I have finished Alexander Mahone, so take a look! :D Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 01:55, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, cool. :) Well, take your time. Just one question: do you think the "arc" section is too long? Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 02:35, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have you ever thought of entering the WikiCup? There is one spot left, if you would like to take part in it, then I suggest you take it quickly.--WillC 06:11, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, good. Looking forward to, well I guess, fighting you in the cup.--WillC 09:15, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Same here. I've been trying for the last five hours to write the background for Victory Road (2004) in a subpage and haven't wrote a thing yet. Focus just isn't my strong suit.--WillC 09:51, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The funny thing is I can become really determined on somethings and get them done but I'm tired so I don't want to work but I can't go to bed yet. Too much stuff to get done that I need to do on here and in real life. Well, nice talking to you again. I remember talking to you in the past about something. Re: Dexter[edit]

I had a look, (at Zap2it, Variety) but could not find any. I'll continue to search, because I'm sure it's out there, but it may be hard to find. Anyways, I didn't know you are a Dexter fan. Are you watching the episodes online? Because I just watch it on tv (channel 10), and have only seen up to the first season finale, which is why I created that page. I loved the first season finale, and have seen the second season premiere (online), but didn't think it was that good. Does the season get much better? Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 02:38, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Argh, these ratings are too hard to find. If you do write the article, I don't think the lack of ratings will prevent it from attaining GA status. As long as you manage to find a couple of review, (which should be pretty easy compared to finding ratings) I think it will be fine. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 03:17, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just saw your reply. Well, the first season finale was amazing, did you see the Rudy twist coming? I was so close to figuring it out, well I realized that there must be a reason he cared so much about Dex, but I never thought that they were ******** (don't want to spoil it for anyone else if they accidentally read this). It's a shame they ****ed him off, he was a great character. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 03:22, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I haven't read any of the books. :P I just started watching the show when it was advertised on Ten (I didn't know about it before that), and got hooked after that. I just stole the book info from the main page. Hehe :) Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 03:53, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, very. ;) And I bet you've heard they've picked the show up for seasons 4 and 5! I just hope it doesn't get too repetitive. :( You know, I read somewhere that one of the original showrunners (or something like that) intended to slowly reveal throughout the series that Dexter's coworkers were just as crazy as him! That would've have been so awesome, and a really good idea. It's a shame he/she (can't remember) left, that would've been really interesting. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 05:12, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't know whether to laugh or be concerned. :S I guess the weirdest thing of all is that the victim actually fell for the dating scam! Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 05:38, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I've done some more work on the Friends article, User:Cornucopia/Friends. I'm not asking you to do anything, just admire/be repulsed by my edits, lol. :) Oh, and I'm not the cheeky one. You claim you stopped the GA nom. for Science Fiction Rocket Science because you wanted to add more stuff, but I have seen the point scoring on the Cup below. ;) Hehehe. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 14:09, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Happy New Year!! How did your celebrations go? Were you watching the fireworks? Anyways, I have been steadily working on User:Cornucopia/Friends. I added some info about the apartments, take a look (under "filming"), and see if it warrants the picture. :) Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 01:52, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, this year my family was invited to some party at someone's house, so I was celebrating with heaps of other people that I hardly know! lol! I saw the Sydney fireworks on TV, and they were pretty cool. I used to go to Sydney every year and watch the fireworks (actually, we know people who live in those apartments too, and we watched them from there), but we decided to in mid-January this time. And you're right about the drunk people part. A while back in Sydney, I was practically attacked by some drunken old man who was bleeding all over his head! And I was only ten... talk about scary! Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 02:14, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the pic, it looks really good. :) And good job on "The Dark Defender"! I didn't read it (don't want to get spoiled), but it looks really good. Do you want to start a mini Dexter collaboration, making episode articles? If you want to, I wouldn't really mind working on the show some more, but I'll probably just focus on season 1. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 05:49, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for the Mahone review. Anyways, I finally finished my work on the Friends page, and published all my work. The only issue left is the unsourced ratings, which will be hard to find. Please check it out! Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 08:06, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. At least someone appreciated all that hard work! ;) I'm coming/going on the 19th, and will be there for one week. Probably the worst time too, (you know, the AO). For which matches have you bought tickets? Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 11:37, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully you'll get to see several matches in the finals, which of course will include Federer (and not Nadal or Djokavitch). I'll be watching on tv and, who knows, I may be able to spot you! :P lol. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 12:21, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
...How about a Wikipedia t-shirt? Rofl! I didn't even know it existed until I search Google. :S Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 12:29, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
