Concern regarding Draft:Osayi Alile

Information icon Hello, Afí-afeti. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Osayi Alile, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Draft space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for article space.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion under CSD G13. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it. You may request userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available here.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. Bot0612 (talk) 10:09, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kaha Pte, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. VAXIDICAE💉 14:06, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for promotion or advertising, as you did at Kaha Pte. Seraphimblade Talk to me 19:51, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi Seraphimblade, KaHa is a tech firm founded by Pawan Gandhi. He was responsible for P&L at Nokia manage consumer services, you can google to confirm, also I never wrote this or stated this in the article. Can you share with me the guidelines for creating articles for Companies?, I understand the page has been protected, while I was still rewritting and was about saving the article before I saw the notice on the page. Can you please share with me the guidelines for firm.--Afí-afeti (talk) 20:10, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
The same as all articles, in that such content must be neutral in both tone and content, be verified by reliable and independent sources, and not promote anyone or anything. As some examples (but by no means an exhaustive list) of the issues: KaHa systems include an application for cloud services, and data analytics, for Sports & Fitness, Health & Wellness, Digital Payment, Smart Home, Smart Automotive and Special Needs (first off Don't Capitalize Random Words, none of the stuff there that is capitalized should be, and for whatever reason that practice is very common in marketese. In addition, the cited source ([1]) does not at all confirm that it does all that stuff.), In September 2019, KaHa launched the slimmest smart analogue watch (This is "sourced" to "TechCoffeeHouse", which looks like a blog and is nowhere near reliable enough to support a claim like that), as it innovative a smart jump rope and a 1-minute Challenge (this isn't grammatical, but regardless, don't use puff adjectives like "innovative"). Someone having worked for Nokia has absolutely no relevance to anything. It is generally better for newer editors to edit existing articles and gain experience before trying to start a new article, but if you are set on doing so, create your new articles as a draft and request review by articles for creation. Creating an appropriate new article directly in mainspace is a really difficult thing to do, and is unlikely to be something an inexperienced editor will meet with success at. Seraphimblade Talk to me 20:19, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
I get your point's now Seraphimblade, would create a draft and send to you for re-review.--Afí-afeti (talk) 20:26, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
Seraphimblade, Draft:KaHa Pte good enough?, I have rewritten and I need your honest opinion on this.--Afí-afeti (talk) 22:29, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
It's shorter, and a lot of the promotional material seems to be taken care of. I see it is in for AfC review, so we'll see what the outcome of that is. If AfC is willing to accept it, I will certainly unprotect the mainspace page for them to be able to create the article. Seraphimblade Talk to me 03:00, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Seraphimblade, yeah, I wrote it as a sub and should be expanded in the future. I’m trying to be extremely careful with the content, watching my tones so it doesn’t sound promotional. I will pass on it; any other editor might pick interest in expanding it.--Afí-afeti (talk) 07:53, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Seraphimblade, Good Day, I’m still confused on how the draft reads like an advert, after attending to all the comments. On my talk page, the first declined message advise I look into the comments and I did. The second declined message didn’t state that but declined with the “advert” template. This got me really curious and I searched for wearables companies, I found Noise (wearables company), this wearable is a sub and it was perfect. I also came across a home security company SimpliSafe which history section is arranged like KaHa’s own.--Afí-afeti (talk) 07:23, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
For the version which I deleted, I have already explained that, and please note that other stuff is not a valid reason for really anything. If you mean the ones which were declined as a draft, I cannot speak for anyone else, so you will have to ask the reviewers for more detail on why they declined it. Seraphimblade Talk to me 08:21, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
Thank You Seraphimblade.--Afí-afeti (talk) 12:15, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
Hello Seraphimblade, I have expanded the article.--Afí-afeti (talk) 16:22, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
It looks like a new review has been requested there, which is all you need to do. That review will be done in due course. Seraphimblade Talk to me 17:15, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Hi Seraphimblade, it’s been 31 days since the last decline message from an editor which I was about contacting and noticed he has been blocked. Does his block affect the possibility of the draft being reviewed or does this implies no editor from the AFC would look into the draft. I also noticed the editor/bot updating the category stopped, does this mean no one is seeing the draft any longer?, I’m curious, cause I’m still learning and reading guidelines.--Afí-afeti (talk) 04:54, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello Afí-afeti. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Afí-afeti. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Afí-afeti|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 08:48, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright

Control copyright icon Hello Afí-afeti! Your additions to Draft:Our Homecoming have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🇨🇦 (talk) 13:22, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi Diannaa, noted. But I was still going to rewrite it, I assume this is a draft and I copied the content to re-write it when I'm officially done and ready to submit the draft.--Afí-afeti (talk) 13:39, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
Please don't add copyright content to Wikipedia, not even temporarily for editing, not even in sandboxes or drafts. Please do your amendments before you save the page, or use an external editor. Thanks, — Diannaa 🇨🇦 (talk) 13:42, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Kimani Moore moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Kimani Moore, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Celestina007 (talk) 03:45, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

Could you explain to me

Hello, I stumbled upon this Draft:Kimani Moore and it came off as promotional, furthermore it appears as though you didn’t use any reliable source, I removed some obvious non RS like blogs such as YNaija and vanity press, but upon closer observation it appears as though no single RS was optimized. What’s the seems to be the problem? I have moved it back to Draftspace, I suggest you take a quick look at WP:RS, sourcing can be stressful but if you are having any difficulty you could leave me a message on my TP or visit the WP:TEAHOUSE for further guidance. Celestina007 (talk) 04:13, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

Celestina007, Honestly finding a reliable source was the problem but YNaija is like Pulse Nigeria, which I would call a refer source. This article is more or less of WP:ORIGINAL. Whereby no original search is needed following it trivial mentions, have been able to pick out what I needed, which now makes me the primary source, that was what I was trying to establish. I wasn't trying to create a promotional article, and I understand, it was over sourced but seeing a lot of articles with 1 source or none on mainspace, gave me the ideal of what I was about to create following her contribution to the entertainment industry, made her a product of WP:ANYBIO, second criteria. An according to various trivial mentions, from a reliable source like Tush Magazine, and TheCable, she is also among 7 Women Working Behind The Scenes, Contributing To The Growth Of Nigerian Music, and this was the same spot Bankulli was, as one of the men pushing towards growth in the entertainment industry for years, before the Beyoncé project. I believe the Nigeria Wikiproject needs more hands in building A&R executives, an I will love to be part of that.--Afí-afeti (talk) 06:47, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

Hello Afí-afeti. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Kaha (company), gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements.

CKay the First

Hi. Regarding your creation of CKay the First, please put any words that you have directly copied from a website between quotation marks. Please also try and paraphrase what sources say, i.e. put what the website says in your own words instead of extensively quoting. If you can, please also request an editor copyedit articles after you create them. To put it bluntly, the grammar was nonsensical in places. Finally, th "Composition" section should typically be reserved for general descriptions of the sound and lyrics of a song only, without any biased opinions from sources like "this should have been left off the album", which I have removed. Opinionated quotes like this should be put in the "Critical reception" section, again, between quotation marks and attributing them to their author. Thanks. Ss112 19:24, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Cruel Santino.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Cruel Santino.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 19:20, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Utkarsh Raj

Hello, Afí-afeti, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Jupitus Smart, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Utkarsh Raj, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Utkarsh Raj.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Jupitus Smart}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to Utkarsh Raj, give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Afí-afeti, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Afí-afeti|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Jupitus Smart 18:41, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

  • @Jupitus Smart:, No financial stake, just didn't know it was a sponsored post till you started it, and I checked, then found it stated on the media. I have requested for Db-g7, and that solves it all.--Afí-afeti (talk) 19:34, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Blowtime Entertainment moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Blowtime Entertainment, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. scope_creepTalk 00:51, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

Eyimofe did not win Best Film

This might be an oversight, but you last edit to Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Film implied that Eyimofe won the category, that is not true, the correct winner was The Gravedigger's Wife. I just want you to know that I undid your addition. HandsomeBoy (talk) 12:05, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Before We Fall Asleep requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://1883magazine.com/johnny-drille-before-we-fall-asleep-track-by-track/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
