Hello, Another Believer,
As the notice states, Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Please do not untag CSD-tagged pages that you have created. It's kind of bright-line rule but it just incurs a reminder, no punishment unless you are a habitual offender. But seriously, categories that are no longer empty sit in the Empty Category category for just a matter of hours until I or another editor untags them so you don't have to worry about deletion. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 17:19, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
@Liz Hi! Sorry if I've done something wrong here. But, in my defense, looking at this version of the page, I don't see "Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself". I see, "If you know of pages which are appropriate for this category, please populate it and remove this notice. See CSD C1." That's why I added an entry to the category, then removed the tag. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:32, 22 January 2023 (UTC)

Notability question

Extended content

Hi. You seem to know a lot about restaurants and dining notability, so I wanted to ask you if you think Yardley Inn (an article at afd) is notable. Thanks. BeanieFan11 (talk) 14:06, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Another Believer has over 250 talkpage watchers so you might just get more interaction at this AfD than you expected because of that. That said, I have an opinion from interacting on some of the Portland restaurant AfDs and think I have a feel for how this will go, especially if people following AB attend Yardley Inn debate. Bottom line is that there has been some notability creep around restaruarant articles IMO. You can kiss off all the local media. Stuff like Philadelphia Inquirer will help only if it's a full article about that particular restaurant, and even then with a caveat. There's even been pushback on James Beard awards, Michelin starred reviews, and "best of city" by the city's newspaper of record, so it's an unreasonable uphill battle to demonstrate notability. If the deletion debate gets really involved, WP:SIRS will be applied source-by-source by some eager editor, maybe even in a table format, with "extreme prejudice" even towards something of the stature of The New York Times doing a restaurant review in their own delivery area (this is a real objection I saw in an AfD). See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Daily Dozen Doughnut Company and expand the source table for an example. N.b. Zagat is deprecated by name at WP:RESTAURANTREVIEWS section of the criteria. From quick perusal I'd give the odds of survival at less than 50-50 at this point. ☆ Bri (talk) 16:28, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
@BeanieFan11 Thanks for the invite, but I'm not interested in weighing in here. Frankly, I'm exhausted by the shenanigans surrounding restaurant articles lately. A handful of editors have tried to make Wikipedia editing very frustrating for me ever since Draft:Daily Dozen Doughnut Company caused the earth's axis to shift. Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:46, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

Hello. I hear you’re the original uploader of the image on the LA Kings Monument article. I’ve been wondering if it is possible to use the image on the Los Angeles Kings page, as it states the file can only be used for one article only. moves to draft

Extended content

Hey, AB. I've moved to draft Draft:Blazing Bagels and Draft:Yesler Hillclimb. I am very concerned about your continued inability to assess sources' support of notability when it comes to your local businesses, landmarks, etc. Not everything in Washington and Oregon is notable simply because local sources are covering it. I think you should leave these articles in draft until you've found three sources that support a claim to notability.

And please, please indicate which three to make it easier for others to see what you're using to support the claim. It's not fair to make people look at 15 (or 80, or 100) sources to figure out what you are saying indicates notability. More is not better. We only need three. Please, please don't just keep adding more and more and more bare mentions. It doesn't help. It only makes life harder for other editors. Valereee (talk) 20:16, 6 February 2023 (UTC)

Why are we collapsing this? Valereee (talk) 22:40, 6 February 2023 (UTC)

I very often collapse sections on this page. I mean no offense, truly. I don't really see the point in moving an article like Blazing Bagels to the draft space. If you feel the topic is not notable, then raise your concerns on the talk page, or add a notability or merge tag so others can weigh in. I hear your concerns and I appreciate what you're saying. We clearly have different interpretations of some of Wikipedia's rules and that's ok. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:56, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
Why won't you just tell us which three sources convinced you? Why? Valereee (talk) 00:37, 7 February 2023 (UTC)

@Tyxcho I'd say so, but you might actually want to ask over at Talk:The Embrace. If we can only display one image of the sculpture, editors may want to discuss which image is most appropriate. Thank you for helping to illustrate Wikipedia! ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:37, 8 February 2023 (UTC)

Refbombing

Extended content

Hello,

I've been seeing several complaints in recent AFDs for articles you have created or support that you are bombing them with low quality references. For example, Seattle Coffee Works has 82 (!) references which is probably 60 more than is needed. This causes undue hardship on editors who are examining these articles in a deletion discussion and I sincerely hope it is not an intentional move on your part as a way of keeping an article. But I've seen editors complain about the number of low quality sources and then gone on to say that you put in even MORE references after they complained about it so I'm not sure what to think.

You are a very experienced editor and article creator and know a good, quality reference that provides SIGCOV from a citation to a listicle or blog. Please use some restraint with your articles and don't include every mention of a company or restaurant in an article, use some discretion and use a lower number of higher quality sources from here on out. Thank you for considering this comment. Liz Read! Talk! 05:50, 9 February 2023 (UTC)

@Liz: I've been treated horribly on Wikipedia the past few months. I think there are much bigger concerns to address than me adding too many references to an article which has been flagged for deletion. I'm not adding sources to demonstrate notability, I'm just quickly expanding the entry with claims from reliable sources as I'm doing additional research. I didn't know expanding an entry during AfD was problematic. Anyways, I've been hounded and harassed both on-wiki and in real life the past few months so sorry if my patience for some editors' complaints about ref-bombing is limited at the moment. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:57, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
Why are you still adding references. I just went through the article culling the many overcites. Stop, please. —¿philoserf? (talk) 17:44, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
jfc, no matter what I do on Wikipedia, someone complains. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:29, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
Perhaps you should take a moment to self-examine that. I do things folks disagree with too. But it isn't "...no matter what I do...". —¿philoserf? (talk) 18:31, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
@Philoserf Why am I wrong for adding a claim about the sign being compared to Hammering Man? ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:32, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
Then you misunderstood what I objected to. I objected to adding a second reference to a statement that was already referenced in article already pointed out by numerous editors as overcited. —¿philoserf? (talk) 18:35, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
OK, then I'll stop adding content altogether. Over it, anyway. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:39, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
Sorry brother. Worn down? Have a great day whatever you do. —¿philoserf? (talk) 18:42, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
@Philoserf Thanks! I'll enjoy another urban hike in Seattle. Then, expect edits at Super Bowl LVII halftime show! :p ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:12, 12 February 2023 (UTC)

Issue One request

Hi @Another Believer — I noticed that you previously made edits to the Issue One page, and I was wondering if you could take a look at some recent edit requests I made on the Issue One Talk page. I have a COI as I work for Issue One, so I'm hoping an uninvolved editor like yourself could take a look at what I've put together. Thank you! AR at Issue One (talk) 19:44, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Bit House Saloon

The article Bit House Saloon you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Bit House Saloon for comments about the article, and Talk:Bit House Saloon/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Created a page for My Dad the Bounty Hunter!

Thought you might be interested since you created the re-direct for it back in January. I liked the series a lot, and have been really enjoying Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur too, and started watching Karma's World (I created the page for it a while back) today, and am really enjoying that too Historyday01 (talk) 13:54, 17 February 2023 (UTC)

@Historyday01 I noticed! I have a habit of creating redirects for shows to programming lists (and redirects of episodes to shows). I'm not familiar with the show but perhaps I'll tune in some time. Keep up the great work here! ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:04, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
Thanks! Yeah, its a pretty good show, but I only wish it was longer. Historyday01 (talk) 14:06, 17 February 2023 (UTC)

Greeting from Calabria and help request for Vincenzo Ferrera and Draft:Dado Coletti

Dearest Jason, Best regards from Calabria, I am writing to greet you and know how you are, I am quite well for now, I have seen your contribution to that disaster that happened on the other side of my region, a wonderful and welcoming region, despite everything and not for some consciences. In any case, my good Jason, I ask for your precious help to resolve once and for all the situation of these two biographies, that of Dado Coletti which has been waiting to be published for months and that of renewing Vincenzo Ferrera. I know you are very active and I was wondering, in my little ignorance if you could help me with the case. While waiting to hear from you, I wish you a bright greeting and a good evening, from little Campora San Giovanni in Calabria. Luigi Salvatore Vadacchino (talk) 18:43, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
