Cowdenbeath

You might recall a short whilst back we discussed the amount of players they have that don't have articles. I've looked and three have already played at the required level Marc McKenzie, Kenny Adamson and Lewis Coult. McKenzie already had an article but was deleted so have got a copy of that now in my userspace and i will work on the others. Will be three less for the summer.Edinburgh Wanderer 17:48, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

just started working on the season article for last year for Cowdenbeath and discovered a few more players that are already notable. I'm also starting early on creating user drafts for next seasons articles and will do the season template as well. Want to be ready early this year, best to get them started and work as we go on rather than start later and have to search for everything. Edinburgh Wanderer 14:04, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh having completed last seasons stats sections the following current players are also notable as played in the first div last season. Joe Mbu, Lee Wilson, Thomas O'Brien, Kyle Miller, Jon Robertson, Dean Brett & Greg Stewart. Thats a good proportion of the whole team. Im going to do Jon Robertson but if you fancy doing any of the others feel free. Edinburgh Wanderer 17:29, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
that would be great. Not looked at the others yet as doing a few of their season articles. Thanks again. Edinburgh Wanderer 10:00, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Are you still planning on doing Stewart, just so i know as planning on starting the players again once I've finished the stats on this last season article.Edinburgh Wanderer 11:43, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not as bad as my sidetrack i had to do four season articles because according to Jon Robertson's stats anywhere he never played in the last two of them. Edinburgh Wanderer 19:10, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Seasons

Just so you know other than the hearts season article I'm not going to update them this week. This may be next week as well not decided yet. Feel free to email me if you want more details but for now I'm unable to do them. Edinburgh Wanderer 13:41, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Found Dumbarton's[1] but it agrees with the other unfortunately. Wonder if it could be a different McCallum, we will know when forfar add theirs.Edinburgh Wanderer 18:29, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Duckisjammy, I have nominated this article for deletion, it is my first time, do I need to add it on the football project page? Cheers. Murry1975 (talk) 17:25, 8 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, will do. Murry1975 (talk) 17:39, 8 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Added a comment about what I have found that backs a lack of WP:NFOOTY. Thanks for tghe Twinkle tip, but call me a technophob, I might try it in the future. Thanks. Murry1975 (talk) 18:20, 8 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Albanian PROD's

Your absolutely right for Besmir Bega. However for Indrit Hithi, either I'm missing something or the soccerway source you listed doesn't mention him. Just thought I'd try to clear up, which one of us missing something before proceeding with an afd, because if its me obviously its not necessary. Cheers. Re: Indonesia Super League players PRODs

As far as I can tell, the players whose articles I PROD'ed yesterday had only ever played in the Indonesian Premier League (i.e. the second division), but if I missed soemthing, then by all means, deprod them. Sir Sputnik (talk) 21:16, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, about the name of the league. That here had been changes. I agree entierly that we need discussion on the matter. Given the confusion surrounding the Indonesian league structure, I have deprodded all but two of the articles until notability questions can be cleared up. The two I have left with prod's don't appear to have made their senior debut yet, making professionalism in the league structure a moot point. I'll bring the matter up at WT:FOOTY shortly. Sir Sputnik (talk) 22:18, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Respectfully, why are coming to me with this? I've already explained why I didn't deprod to of the articles I prod'ed, and you don't need my permission to deprod any articles. At present, I'm not entirely sure to which articles you're referring, but if you think its an issue, I suggest deprod them yourself. Sir Sputnik (talk) 16:22, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about my previous outburst. I'm somewhat stressed out about things happening off wiki, but that does excuse my taking it out on you. I sincerely appoligize. Sir Sputnik (talk) 20:10, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Graeme Mcgreggor

I'm at work and my connection isn't great but I'm fairly certain that's a direct copy from my userspace. If it is will get an Admin to look at later. This happened once before. Edinburgh Wanderer 11:23, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Never come across him before at all. Glad saves me getting BWilkins to look at again after the last time. Thanks. Edinburgh Wanderer 12:08, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My favourite sockpuppet

Thanks for that. Trouble with the delightful Mr Latham is that his IP addresses are dynamic and, so I was once told by the blocking admin, come from a large and active range so the individual accounts can be blocked but the underlying range of IP addresses often can't. I did request a CheckUser, so if anything can be done about the IP addresses, it will. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 13:13, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Javier Mascherano

Hello! Not sure if this is the proper format. I noticed that a while ago you had written: "Being used there occasionally due to injuries doesn't make him a centre back" regarding Javier Mascherano. Another user edited his FCB position back to CB and I hope it will stay that way. I have watched FCB every week since Mascherano arrived and despite a brief stint as a backup DM, he has become used primarily if not exclusively at centre-back. Sometimes he is used over Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique even when they are healthy, as quotes by Pique can attribute: http://www.totalbarca.com/2011/news/pique-mascherano-is-the-best-centre-back-at-the-moment/ Sid Lowe wrote on this as well: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/apr/14/javier-mascherano-pep-guardiola-barcelona But don't take it from those articles, just watch every FCB game he's played in this year and you can see it for yourself! He is (almost?) always positioned at CB, and for good reason: he's not nearly as prone to momentary lapses in attention as Pique is, and his passing is superior to Puyol's. He's also the club's best tackler which can be useful (though he doesn't get to do this nearly as much as he did early on for us while he was tried out at DM, and during his stay at Liverpool: he's often the last man standing before Victor Valdes and can't risk the card/penalty). 74.105.153.151 (talk) 17:23, 16 April 2012 (UTC)John[reply]

My apologies for taking up your time, and didn't mean to imply he's better at CB than Puyol (which I did), merely that he's a better passer. When Puyol is healthy there isn't a CB in the world I'd have in the side! Thank you for your response. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.105.153.151 (talk) 19:42, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I tried the rowspan thing but was doing it wrongly, really not very code with large tables fine on the small ones. Edinburgh Wanderer 13:34, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dundee F.C. seasons

For your info whilst I'm working on the List of Cowdenbeath seasons, Dundee played in the Eastern division emergency League in season 1939-40 from this 1939–40 in Scottish football [2] and competed in the emergency cup 1939-40[3] They competed in the North Eastern Football League during season 1944-45 which the won.[4]. And they played in the 1945-46 B Division of the southern League[5]. They also competed in the Southern League Cup (Scotland) 1945–46[6] a precursor to the League cup that started the following year. Also in the victory cup 1945-46. [7]. Cant find anything for inbetween. Edinburgh Wanderer 21:45, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No problem found it all whilst trying to work out what happened to Cowdenbeath during the war. I go through phases of real interest and then cant be bothered. Im in one of those productive ones at the moment. I am looking forward to the end of the season and will take a few weeks off, until then planning on doing as much as possible.Edinburgh Wanderer 22:12, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The site that originally had the source has shut down. I would think [8] will have it somewhere but its rather tricky to work out in places. Ive managed to work out the war leagues for Cowdenbeath but still trying to work out the war cups and Scottish cup qualifying tournaments. All rather complicated. Chelsea

Hi, as I understand it when deciding between "is" and "are" in reference to a football club one considers the specific entity being considered. In the case of the opening line the entity is Chelsea Football Club singular so the correct form should be "is". I've checked on the rest of the Premier League clubs and they all (with the exception of Everton for some reason) follow this. "The team (a group of players) ARE fifth in the league" but "The club (single legal entity) IS based in southwest London." I'm not fussed enough to get into a massive debate about it, but I believe this to be correct, hence the change. danno 16:24, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response, it's nice to get a reply to a talk page post - I sometimes think I'm talking to myself! Regards danno 18:45, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

IPs

Hello, and thanks for asking. The only thing I can suggest is report the currently active ones at WP:AIV for repeatedly removing sourced Ireland-related categories from BLPs, and mention the earlier IPs as well in the report to show that it's been going on for some time. And ask GiantSnowman or another admin if they have any better ideas. Sorry I can't do more. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 13:25, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Duck, your name has shown up on my watchlist a lot today reverting the above. That little sh!!! If I spot anymore I will report to vandalism. If you find a way of dealing with him let me know. Cheers. Murry1975 (talk) 13:44, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Never saw the source. I've had a look at the source I'm not sure it's good enough, I can't find many others especially reliable sources. Not sure personally I don't think it's relevant I mean it wasn't the mascot that hates Lennon it was the individual employee. Edinburgh Wanderer 13:32, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re:AFD - AFD is not a vote, it's a discussion, and so the admin will take into account that the same person has expressed the same opinion multiple times. Simply make a note under the 2nd/3rd instances, and write on the editor's talk page, saying "You should not vote multiple times."

Re:IPs, have a look at WP:RANGEBLOCK, that may help. GiantSnowman 17:44, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'd ask at AN. GiantSnowman 18:22, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Good result at ANI I feel, range blocks aren't terribly popular among those who know how to implement them due to the potential number of 'good' editors affected by it. I've only ever seen them used on Zombie433 before. GiantSnowman 16:19, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thats been changed because thats where i get my match reports from when I'm doing the stats on the season articles. So thats where the season page was wrong from and Soccerway got it wrong from the press association. Its all fixed now I've emailed soccerway who normally fix there site fairly quickly. Meant to say i mailed Livi the other week about an incorrect date of birth on their site and got a reply.Edinburgh Wanderer 18:46, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Think Livi are just unreliable sometimes you will sometimes you won't. Good luck with the CL no idea how thats gonna go.Edinburgh Wanderer 18:51, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

General

Certainly was a high level of vandalism, must of come from somewhere. In truth i haven't decided however i think it is likely i will do the season articles all be it maybe at a slower/lesser rate. I had forgotten about the Dunfermline category so that was good.Edinburgh Wanderer 11:47, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

At least it was a Mark. Honestly bit of a nightmare really. Edinburgh Wanderer 15:53, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Its still there even though the links don't work the player archive is here[9] and the Scottish Cup is here[10]. Peterhead's is similar to Cowdenbeath's but once your past the welcome page once on theirs thats it. Getting ridiculous. Ive noticed Berwick keep switching versions as well.Edinburgh Wanderer 18:33, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Im just glad it is still there the thought of that disappearing wasn't good. What i meant was if you click on a link to the Cowdenbeath website it takes you to there splash page, however the next time in the same session you click the link it no longer goes to the splash page but the page you actually wanted. Where as peterheads is just plain useless. Edinburgh Wanderer 18:52, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Omar or Woods, honestly attract them recently. Oh well it would be helpful if they eventually link the old player profile to the new one. Wait and see.Edinburgh Wanderer 19:47, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just to let you know i will be doing season articles this week. I will definitely do second and third divisions and if the others haven't been done will do the rest on sunday. Edinburgh Wanderer 21:03, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ross County have won the First Division and Alloa the Third. Should we change the infobox on the season articles from 1st (ongoing) to 1st (champions) or maybe 1st (promoted) or wait. Also i really wish i never looked at it but I've created Mark McGuigan its a one line stub. Ive got plenty of sources but they slightly contradict each other. Im going to try and piece it together somehow, won't have stats though. The previous teams comes from transfermakt other than Celtic, Forfar, St andrews and Abertay which i have sources for. Edinburgh Wanderer 21:50, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No probs i know nothing about that. Its really just the promotion query. The other one i will work out just wanted to let you know in case you come across it and think I've abandoned it. Edinburgh Wanderer 22:12, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Go with that. Thats what i originally thought then had doubts so thought id run it past you. Im hoping Partick will do a profile page with semi decent info. Im piecing it together but its not going to be the best of articles with it being so much research. Ive done 5 of the new player articles this week just two to go. Edinburgh Wanderer 23:13, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ive had to give up doing the season articles after only 6. Wiki is running so slow just hangs when i try and open or preview. Was fine this morning but was like this part of last night as well seems its happening to a few people.Edinburgh Wanderer 20:27, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just away out for a few hours after the Hearts win. Will do them when I get back was planning on doing them anyway. My connection still slow but better than yesterday. Edinburgh Wanderer 14:22, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done.Edinburgh Wanderer 17:05, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm wondering what you would think about splitting the season articles untill the end of the sfl season 3 matches. I'm not going to have much time the next few weeks at the weekend. I would do the second and third and Hearts and livi. Feel free to say no would just mean I would do the remaing on monday.Edinburgh Wanderer 08:35, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I normally try and do the first as well but don't always get much done of them. Just wanted to make sure your ok with that as I know my times going to be limited. I'd be happy if he updates some but he needs to do the whole thing otherwise it just causes confusion. Edinburgh Wanderer 10:35, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Because you said you might be struggling i kept going and have done the remaining of the first division seasons.Edinburgh Wanderer 21:38, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As you know I've felt like that as well it goes. I think it just needs to be handled like any other ip now, warn it each time and report to AIV which will lead to a block. Ive added a few of the pages to my watchlist. In regards to Winchester noticed it as well last night not sure il have time tonight as still trying to finish a East Fife season article if i do ill fix it up. Wasn't sure which section to reply in.Edinburgh Wanderer 11:59, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Have you had a look at Wikipedia:Pending changes/Request for Comment 2012. I never had much experience of it but seemed a good thing.Edinburgh Wanderer 17:27, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just checking in again to see how you are again. Have you seen the ip again.Edinburgh Wanderer 19:30, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Was pretty bad should really of been blocked. I saw an ip i thought was them but there was no bad edits, hopefully will have got the hint. Glad your ok, been pretty distracted the last few days working on next seasons articles. Edinburgh Wanderer 19:46, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

IP evasion

I am not intentionally using more than one IP but keep saying stuff that isn't true anyways. Slander like that all goes on record. What nationality are you by the way? That might be a reason why you are messing around with people's Wikipedia pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.44.253.129 (talk) 00:31, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. 86.* IP - the block applies to you the person, and not the IP. It is you, the person, who are blocked for making legal threats add harassment. It does not matter that you get a new IP every day, YOU the person are blocked and may not edit this project until you choose to follow the rules and policies of this private website. You will have read WP:NLT already: digest that carefully. Using words like "slander" just add to that - and the judicial defence for slander is truth anyway :-) If you intend to actually edit Wikipedia someday, you will need to follow the rules - and that includes a full retraction of any legal threats. Until then, we are allowed to simply follow every new IP you use, revert any edit, and block on sight - not a very productive use of your time, nor ours. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:39, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thats the way i feel as well about it sometimes. Ive been keeping an eye on it from a distance. Im trying not to get involved in anything that could stress me out at the mo, however the attacks aren't on also it is block evasion in my view anyway as thats why the range block was set up. Im surprised he hasn't been blocked but thats not for me to say there are a few admins who have had some involvement in this. If it continues then maybe another ANI but give Bwilkins and others a wee bit of time he's a good admin. Feel free to email me if you wish.Edinburgh Wanderer 18:32, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How you feeling about things today. Want to make sure you are ok. Edinburgh Wanderer 19:37, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
A work in progress, it will take awhile (its already taken a bit today lol) but at least then it will be more usefull having all the relevant info in one place. He will probably be back today or tomorrow and around until Monday, just add any thing to the list if he does. Dont listen to the BS he comes out with, we have been trying our best to help him and he is a long term disruption to the project unfortunately as slippy one. If it goes to AN/I again or even WP:RFPP there will be along list to show how they have been behaving and a pretty good indicator of his favourite articles. Thanks for showing me about WP:SALT yesterday, I'm still learning, as an old friend said to me if you stop learning you stop living. Take care. Murry1975 (talk) 11:24, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it has taken time, but I have some 80's tunes playing and the kids are in school so I have been doing it while chillin' (will get back to it after lunch). There are a shed load of IPs, he seems to be in school or college during the week and only does it at weekends. Considering the least anount of disruptive edits is three, it says a lot about them and over at least 6 months. WP:AGF wears thin after the first 4 months lol. Murry1975 (talk) 11:53, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I saw that remark of his, he already made an actual racist comment putting golliwog into a players name. Dont worry, people wont pay attention to that accusation, it was empty and just purely vindictive. He has been shown good advice, from ourselves, BWilkins and even Monty now, so if he does these things again it would be hard to assume good faith and that his lapses are innocent. I will get back to my list now for an hour or so. Murry1975 (talk) 13:17, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yep sure does. Just let us not step over the line, just keep point to guidelines and not respond to his baiting, just point out his mistakes and show what should happen and remind him of the guidelines. If we start responding and get ourselves warned or giving less imput into the right areas that would not be good, we are here to improve Wikipedia for everyone (including him) not here to babysit and be distracted. Murry1975 (talk) 13:32, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I added more, quite alot now!! He also asked a few questions so I answered him on my talkpage, I think he still hasnt read anything on guidelines. Will do more either later or tomorrow. Murry1975 (talk) 18:07, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Two things. First, its a clear case of WP:IDHT at this stage, we would nearly have to read them aloud to him. And two, just saw your user boxes, your Irish. Which means he has accused TWO Irish editors of, well lol, being racist against the Irish. Now thats made me smile. Murry1975 (talk) 18:40, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers bud, will do more when I can concentrate on it. Probably Monday or tomorrow evening. Just hopping on and off this while looking at the footie. Murry1975 (talk) 17:51, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

i know your intentions were the best, but the guy did not play in La Liga with CD Tenerife, only in Segunda División.

Happy week from Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:17, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Give credit where credit is due, it was User:Mattythewhite who started that cat (that and "Segunda División B footballers", with which i disagree, but i'm not the owner of WP :)). The edit summary? Quite stupid indeed, but i just lost it, the user removed ALL valid links turning it into non-existent ones, even went as far as removing one ref ("Surgery for Suso", is that not vandalism?)! Sad but true, the chances of me ever again "going AGF" are slimmer than these guys ever becoming FIFA World Cup champions :(

Cheers --Vasco Amaral (talk) 17:09, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Season Pages

Other with a footnote, thats what I've done on past seasons I've created and agree with GS. Rather annoying that it will only take four. Glad the season end is approaching, been a long season lot of hard work but i think we've done well with them.Edinburgh Wanderer 17:58, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On another note we need to add summarys to all the completed seasons. I've done Cowdenbeath and Alloa. Will try and do them later in the week, as long as they are complete the summarys can wait. Edinburgh Wanderer 18:34, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Out and never got your message until I'd left you mine. Same Idea. Edinburgh Wanderer 18:37, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I had a good look through there site the other day for next seasons article, theyve appointed a lot of people to their board of late some with Rather odd sounding titles but no Chairman perse looking like they aren't going to. Eithier that or they are taking a very long time to do so. Edinburgh Wanderer 21:21, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry only just got message. I copied it from previous years and it's on virtually all next years. I have to say I wondered about it but never really looked into what it did, it's only on the Ayr page that it has caused an error must be because of the type of template used on that page. Marching on with them it's taking all my time but at least I'm getting it done, rather now than down the line like last year, they have every section in them they are just hidden so it should make life easier down the line. Edinburgh Wanderer 06:21, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done all the seasons that i can do for now. Im starting to do the summary for last years, in regards to the transfers if a player has not found a club by the end of the season in the transfer sections shall we change this to Free Agent.Edinburgh Wanderer 21:01, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think the free agent is correct don't want to do any more and have to change it.Edinburgh Wanderer 22:00, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure what to do with this. Berwick[12] and Montose[13] have announced their squad changes. They post them on their news page but their isn't a link to just that article, so all i can do is link to the news feed which means it won't always be their down the line. The bigger problem is Peterhead who you cant link to at all.Edinburgh Wanderer 17:44, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest the SFL haven't bothered to do half of them, they might further down the line, ill just link to the news page for now. With peterhead ill link to their page even though it won't work. Im starting to get fed up with all this, after Sunday might take a break. Noticed you have been doing all the del sorts have you taken an interest in it. Edinburgh Wanderer 18:22, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Plus how hard would it of been for Berwick to say what players had left rather than just say the rest have all left the club. Edinburgh Wanderer 18:24, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Could you see if you read this[14] the same as me. In the injured players section do you read it that they have left the club but could come back if they choose to train and prove fitness. Just about to change the season article.Edinburgh Wanderer 16:51, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok cool ill leave it to you. Agreed then, i was about to start it last night then realised it was too many so left it until today. Edinburgh Wanderer 17:07, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thats good would rather not use it anyway, i was wondering about it but just thought would be best to keep doing it. With regards to that discussion, i never saw it as I'm pretty much ignoring that page at the moment however he has to be banned i just cant see how the admins involved here haven't asked for a community ban or at the very least indeffed the account. Half the statements he makes are false, Cowdenbeath actually have a body of full time players which i was actually surprised about, Raith are not going fully semi pro yet just winding down, Morton have made no decision as the source said and well Ayr are no longer in that league. To be honest the whole criteria needs looked at but we should not be feeding the troll like this. Im actually rather disappointed in our admins after reading that. Edinburgh Wanderer 18:34, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Don't really know what to say, rather annoyed about this. It was at the last ANI and if i remember ok it was two admins both Snowy and Thumper know that and should be doing something here even if its just taking to ANI saying the user has become further disruptive and another admin should block. You and i both know that if it was us we would have been blocked ages ago, its no wonder there is a problem with editor retention. Edinburgh Wanderer 19:23, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ill mail snowy see what he thinks. Edinburgh Wanderer 19:52, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
On another subject do you think you might have some time to help me out doing the summaries and adding league tables even if its just the remaining spl ones. What do you think.Edinburgh Wanderer 20:54, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That would be great, i am just about to finish the third and will move on to the second tomorrow, there is a few already done in the other leagues but as i say even the SPL ones would be a great help.Edinburgh Wanderer 21:01, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Been looking through the papers for the last few days and considering they are supposed to be winding down all three players Raith have signed are on full time contracts. Edinburgh Wanderer 15:08, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Must be losing the plot for some reason the stats on Dumbarton and Airdrie never came in to my head, in fact i actually thought id done the pages already. Edinburgh Wanderer 19:02, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I will put it down to heat stroke, ill fix it.Edinburgh Wanderer 19:08, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
On last seasons Partick page i found Ross McGeough joined Petershill, on the Hamilton page David Elebert joined Fylkir and Andy Kennedy joined Cumnock. The refs are on the pages, unfortunately i had to use transfermarkt for Kennedy which isn't ideal however its correct. Its all i could find but you are better at the transfers than me so you may have more luck.Edinburgh Wanderer 20:53, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No probe thats the first, second and third all done got their in the end.Edinburgh Wanderer 21:31, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Never really thought about it, depends if we know the fee i would probably just put the fee maybe with a note or undisclosed if we don't know. But as i say never had much thought on it. Edinburgh Wanderer 20:27, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds fine. Go and do me a favour go to the latest Dundee United season article and click on the Dundee United season template to edit it and see if you get taken to that template. For some reason it takes me to Dundee United template totally different.Edinburgh Wanderer 20:40, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Had no idea whatsoever what was causing that. Thanks. Edinburgh Wanderer 21:11, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Starting to realise how bad Hearts are at announcing things. They never formally announced Chris Kane or Jason Thomson had been released. I looked further into the Raith situation they offered two of there new players part time contracts and they turned them down and then virtually immediately came back and offered them full time contracts. It's looking likely they will again despite the announcement have pretty much a full time squad. So that leaves Dumbarton and Cowdenbeath with the latter having a fair number on full time contracts anyway. Edinburgh Wanderer 23:10, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah ongoing and constructive but I'm not sure it is going anywhere. I'm not overly bothered by it but as we are at similar situation as last season I don't think change is needed yet. Think Chris has the right idea about the fully pro list name being changed. I'm finding the Raith situation most interesting, especially as there actions tottally contradict their statement. The Partick website has listed a full contract situation update. It says some players contracts have ended but they are monitoring their situation. Personally I think they should be marked as left and if they do re sign add a note as we did with the other one what do you think. Edinburgh Wanderer 13:51, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
it certainly does. Paul Cairney is the third as it says is likely leaving. They certainly seemed to be interested in McAleer might still stay. Given their contracts have ended were not crystal balling by saying they've left at least I don't think we are. What do you think would be the best way to handle it or are we better not saying anything in the hope it will clear itself up down the line. . Starting to remember why i don't like and am no good at the transfers, your the king of them by far. Edinburgh Wanderer 17:42, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Im starting to wonder why we bother. Have you seen the system WFC has just come up with from the French Wiki, once again we are creeping into being a project for certain countries most prominently England we seem to be creeping into the oblivion. I genuinely wonder why i even bother looking at that page because it winds me up every time, they re hash everything again and again. Im taking it back of my watchlist because it only does my head in. Edinburgh Wanderer 23:17, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pat Fenlon

Ok. I just misunderstood. Kingjeff (talk) 04:34, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Since we're on the topic Pat Fenlon, are you able to find exact dates of when he was hired and fired? Kingjeff (talk) 04:37, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Working on his managerial stats table. It's tough to find this information for such a low ranking league like Ireland has. Kingjeff (talk) 04:42, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki

Im assuming its part of the latest software update but its very annoying. It was bold now its green stars, don't know which is worse. It seems to mean someone has changed the page and you haven't viewed it, don't really see the need I'm hoping you will be able to switch it off via a gadget but cannot see one yet. 23 of 42 are done, 2 by other people so going rather well but taking a lot of time. Im only doing the ones where the season has finished with the exception of the hearts page so the be honest nearly there. Sorry I've not looked at the old pages hopefully next week ill find time to add summarys and change the leads to what I've done for next season which i think is better, but if you have time you could maybe do some of those. Edinburgh Wanderer 21:51, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The bolding was better than the stars, which also seem to have reduced in size and as i type this its went back to bold. Having looked at the Village Pump there appears to be a lot of unhappiness about it, and a fair few scripts to turn it off. Hopefully the turn that into a gadget far easier. I like the idea but i find it a bit distracting.Edinburgh Wanderer 22:18, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ive only just looked at it, i thought it was duplicate as well but its not. The problem is Clydsedale only took over that season and there isn't anywhere that I'm aware of that lists them when it was The Bank Of Scotland although it must be somewhere. To be honest i would of prefered it to be part of the other article but i suppose it doesn't matter. Edinburgh Wanderer 15:52, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Must be somewhere, when i get a bit more time i will have a look.Edinburgh Wanderer 16:32, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, sorry Duck. I left a note in the concern bit on the page. Was that the only problem? Happy wikibirthday aswell! Adam4267 (talk) 14:29, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Stadiums

Just in case comes up. Clyde are playing their early games at Recreation Park due to stadium works. However there is doubt over then being able to use Broadwood stadium at all and they have a ground share agreement in place with Alloa in case they can't use It. Annan Athletic are unsure whether Galabank will be ready and have said will concede home advantage in cups if not ready. And finally Livingston's pitch has been relaid and will play pre season at Grangemouth stadium although Almondvale should be ready for start of season. Wikipedia Help Survey

Hi there, my name's Peter Coombe and I'm a Wikimedia Community Fellow working on a project to improve Wikipedia's help system. At the moment I'm trying to learn more about how people use and find the current help pages. If you could help by filling out this brief survey about your experiences, I'd be very grateful. It should take less than 10 minutes, and your responses will not be tied to your username in any way.

Transfers

Last I heard he was still on Holiday and would look at contract offer on return. Aberdeen overshot the gun by a long way by announcing it. I am out the loop until tommorow night though, I'm in London and unless it's spurs or the Olympics or talking about Charles Green and Rangers I don't hear it. Edinburgh Wanderer 22:02, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ive been through and updated as many transfers as i could find. There is one i cant find a source for or even if it correct, Adrian Mrowiec may have joined RB Leipzig if the ip who edited the article is correct. Also i created Ryan Wallace (footballer) however i cant find a source for when he joined East Fife from Airdrie its driving me mad as so close to finishing it, do you have any idea where i could look.Edinburgh Wanderer 22:34, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Couldn't find that you always know where to look, how do you do that.Edinburgh Wanderer 23:56, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thought it might of just been me it is odd as really thought someone would of covered it and as you say especially after his exit from Airdrie. Oh well just need to use something else for it, thanks anyway. Edinburgh Wanderer 21:50, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that.Edinburgh Wanderer 19:59, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Friendlies

Should we list closed door games. Initially i thought yes but then i was worried we might not get sources to complete them, but if the club are announcing them then hopefully they would put out a report. Edinburgh Wanderer 15:55, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cool if they are announced i will include them. They don't necessarily report where they will be played however, for instance one of the clubs cant remember who of the top my head said closed door friendlies would be played at a variety of local locations. In stadium field should they just be listed as closed door.Edinburgh Wanderer 23:27, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No probs will fix last of them later today. Season articles are progressing well. Im working on commons to see if i can get some more kits done.Edinburgh Wanderer 23:36, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Right so we have no idea where they will be played so its either left blank which to be honest would look odd but makes sense or you could wikilink Closed Door. I never did this part last season and a lot of the third and second div teams who are doing closed door games didn't even have this section last year.Edinburgh Wanderer 23:40, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Its Dumbarton I'm getting at see last paragraph.[15]Edinburgh Wanderer 23:49, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There are a few others that are basically the same problem. We will probably find out nearer the time anyway.Edinburgh Wanderer 23:56, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. What email address do you use to contact Soccerway? I had a delivery failure last time I tried, which was probably just a temporary glitch, but thought I'd check. thanks in advance, Struway2 (talk) 14:59, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

MIchael Deland

Never heard anything like it to be honest. The closest thing i could find was a Niton football club[16] in the Isle of Wight but wouldn't of thought that to be likely, but you never know.Edinburgh Wanderer 23:14, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've looked through the names of Scottish junior clubs and the closest I could see was Neilston so really have no idea unless im missing something which is possible. Sorry. Edinburgh Wanderer 08:22, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

Thanks for that, just finding something useful to do in between seasons. To be honest I'm amazed how may links there are, WP:Footy for instance has one of the highest rates of links to Disambig pages[17]. If we all just did our watchlist with Dabsolver it would massively improve.Edinburgh Wanderer 19:20, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you have to actually install anything could be wrong. When you click this [18] on the top right corner there is an arrow and if you click on it an edit box will appear. Click on get my credentials copy the text and place in the box and click use credentials. Its more a log in than a script based thing. Could be wrong but i just don't remember installing a script.Edinburgh Wanderer 21:57, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Delsorting....

When you do delsort'ing, would you be able to enclose the article title in double square brackets? When you do that, folks who have the delsort topic page watchlisted can skip straight to the article from my watchlist, bypassing the actual page itself. Second Account

Alternate accounts are fine. I have several myself: User:TParis00ap, User:TParis-alt, and User:TPBot. As long as you are clear on both of your account userpages that they belong to the same person and don't use them abusively or to confuse others than you're fine. I strongly suggest you give the new account a similar name to your existing account to avoid any accusations of trying to appear that you are two separate folks though. Good luck.--v/r - TP 00:45, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Concur - as long as (a) you make it explicit that both accounts are you, and (b) you either have a similar name (DuckIsPeanutButter? ) or you explicitly state in your signature "X is Y" (as I do), there shouldn't be any issues at all. - The Bushranger One ping only 01:37, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Can't add anything more - be open & honest about your second account, and it's fine. GiantSnowman 07:44, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, link the Userpage of the alt account this this one, and specify on this userpage that the other is your alt, and I see no issues - open and transparent as they say above (✉→BWilkins←✎) 09:27, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
