Request on 17:21:04, 16 September 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Laxfri[edit]

Hi the campus free speech legislation page was deleted, how do I get it back to work on the changes you suggested. if you can undelete it please do. The message I got when I submitted the page said that it would take two months to have it reviewed so if I didn't make the changes fast enough I'm sorry but I didn' intentionally mean to steal any information, I thought I had enough citations and would liek to add more in. I have the feeling that the issue is one of two things, either I didn't include the citations early enough int he paragraphs and left them till the end or more liekly that the article you cited as being plagerized has includes informatin on may of the things in my article but i drew from multiple articles for each section. Is there any way to get more specific commentary or a closer review. i didn't realize you would just delete everything wher eI'd been amking all my edits on the submitted copy, pleas ehelp me recover it and I will work on this until its publishable. At least as I see it, by far the worst problem with Draft:Prathima Hospitals was its promotionalism , not the poor referencing or dubious non-notable. I marked it for G11, so it may no longer be there. DGG ( talk ) 04:42, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Discography of American Historical Recordings[edit]

DAHR gets its information from other sources, so I don't think it is a primary source as you said on the talk page of an editor of the Nathaniel Shilkret article. It gets its information from a number of sources. Thank you for reviewing my draft. The other Draft: Cemal Basaran page you mentioned does not appear to contain as many references or papers, and appears to emphasize Prof. Basaran's Unified Mechanics Theory more than the engineer himself. Another editor, or perhaps the same editor using another nearly-identically-named account, created another draft, this time with a reference. I merged the two right after you declined the current draft. Could you take a quick review?

I still think it fails, since there is only one reference, but an encouraging comment by you might entice the editor to add more references rather than get discouraged.

By the way, thanks for the move and the note about the need for disambiguation. A hatnote or two will probably be all that is needed rather than a DAB page. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 04:19, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Joscha Sauer Entry Issue[edit]

Hello, I recently submitted the Joscha Sauer article but it was denied due to not having sufficient sources. The article is a translation of an article from German, so everything that is on what I sumbmitted is more or less what is from that article. With that being said, could I add sources to the article from the Internet to strengthen it? Or is there another action that can be taken? Knowzer (talk) 01:58, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be a misunderstanding as the student was simply updating material from the existing Philosophy of Biology article and was doing that work in his sandbox before moving it over to mainspace. Miguel Cabrera[edit]

I have been un able to present a Wikipedia Bio for the great and amazing life of my dear Father, he was a true fighter a honorable man, when you Google his name, please check the Bio on www.thestoryofarchitect.com blog and www.storyofarchitect.com where you can download the book I wrote both about the life of my father and the most important painting in Ibero-America, of course I understand the need to be encyclopedia related, but remember that both stories come from family albums and documents, so if you want to start a Wikipedia of the Painting, you need to ask yourself the following: Is the Painting real? Yes was it painted by Miguel Cabrera? Yes Was Miguel Cabrera an uneducated Indian? Yes Was this Painting his First? Yes its Certified Was Miguel Cabrera a Protégée of Bishop Pantaleon Alvarez? Yes Was Pedro de Cebrian the ViKing of America? Yes did he take Paintings from Church from Miguel Cabrera to his House? Yes Was Pedro de Cebrian ambassador from Spain to Vienna at the very important time of the signature of the treaty of Acquistran, Was Spain a very important Player? Yes was a common process of negotiation to invite important people to the Ambassador of Spain house? Yes was it possible that Mary Therese of Hapsburg saw the Painting at one of those meetings? Yes was she a Catholic? Yes Did Mary Therese Loved the Americas and Believed to be her right to rule? Yes did she contest the Bourbon Crown of the Americas? Yes would she be moved to see a Painting, the first Miguel Cabrera, an un educated Indian, be moved by the detail and greatness of the Virgin? Did the Painting end on my House? Yes My Name is Carlos Morales Urquiza, My email is Carmors@hotmail.com, I thing you are making a disservice to the world by not considering to publish a Wikipedia page of my father Carlos Morales Treviño a and the Painting of Miguel Cabrera XVII The Asencion of the Virgin, hope you reconsider and help publish this amazing story, Best Regards, Carlos Morales Urquiza, and I declare that all the content is 100% true, the Videos and Pictures are Mine and 100% true and I declare as my own copyrights , 100% true and valid of my own. New Page Patrol December Newsletter[edit]

Hello Dan arndt,

A chart of the 2020 New Page Patrol Queue

Year in review

It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.

Reviewer of the Year

John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.

NPP Technical Achievement Award

As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.

PARKWILD[edit]

Hi Dan - made additional edits. From my understanding (correct me if I am wrong) - PARKWILD has contributed (written & produced) 2 national charting songs including one currently at #53 on the charts in the UK and therefore is of "noteworthy" stature according to the songwriting / composing guidelines on wikipedia.

Resubmitted - please recheck. And note that they're a part of 2 national charting songs (which fits the wikipedia standard for songwriters & composers as both songs are significant and known)

Hello! Thanks for reviewing the draft page for Draft:Jeanette Davis in summer 2020. I am a college professor and this semester my students did a project researching influential academics and writing wiki pages about them. My student wrote a page on Jeanette Davis as well, and this seems to be sitting in Draft:Jeanette Davis (2). That page was recently declined because Draft:Jeanette Davis already exists. However, Draft:Jeanette Davis was declined by you for not having enough sources. Draft:Jeanette Davis (2) has many more citations than the version you assigned and I think is much more likely to be considered a biography of a notable scientist. Can you let me know what the best next steps are? Should we transfer the text from Draft:Jeanette Davis (2) over to Draft:Jeanette Davis? At that point could it be reconsidered? I am also going to reach out to the editor who declined Draft:Jeanette Davis (2) to ask for their preferred next steps. Thanks for any point in the right direction - I am new to wikipedia but excited to see Jeanette Davis represented in a biography. Thanks for your help! -- Csoconn (talk) 22:53, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Maritime Silk Road[edit]

Hello from the other end of the world! With the addition, I wanted to show in each case that the maritime Silk Road (independent of China) includes a number of ports and that this particular location is part of it. Should I shorten it more? Greetings to Australia! I love your west coast! --Schi11 (talk) 14:29, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Schi11:, it really needs to demonstrate what that port brings to the Silk Road project- what is its strategic importance otherwise it’s just another truck stop along a busy highway. Dan arndt (talk) 14:35, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that. Only that would almost require a separate article each. I actually only wanted to briefly mention the fact that the port is right on the highway and indicate the ship connections and trade routes. If I have time I'll try again! Greetings from the lockdown. --Schi11 (talk) 14:43, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to request that the original Private Academic Library Network of Indiana INC (PALNI) submission be reviewed (originally submitted August 2020) instead of the "duplicate" submitted in December 2020. I have this from the Licence's Wikipedia page: "The Open Government Licence is a copyright licence for Crown Copyright works published by the UK government. Other UK public sector bodies may apply it to their publications. It was developed and is maintained by The National Archives. Quoting from wikipedia's rules page "playing an ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles."

As noted, Art Resnick Played with a list of jazz musician who fill this requirement. Assuming the reviewer (you) has knowledge of jazz, perhaps the documentation as proof is missing? I was working on finding references. Playing and recording with star names of the jazz world and recording two albums as leader should suffice in my opinion. If it needs proof, I shall continue looking. Downbeat, The New Yorker and more mentions establish his participation in these groups, whether passing mentions or not.

Former 6th Precinct Station, Detroit[edit]

Hi Dan. I am a newbie and I seek your advice on this Precinct page that I am trying to get accepted. When reading the Wikipedia guidelines, I was trying very hard to refrain from referencing or including anything from the many many pages of google results where the building is mentioned, because I was assuming it would get rejected for reasons of promoting it.

If you do a google search for "6th Precinct Detroit" you get pages and pages of mentions. Television Shows, International Coverage, Historic Tours, Media Stories, Videos, Web Site Discussions, tons and tons of results online. Can you google it and then help me understand which, if any, of those results could be used by way of reference or additional reading, so that my page will be acceptable?

The building was directly involved in two riots and has historic significance, and it is a shame to me that there is nothing online where people can learn about it impartially, without needing to try to piece together knowledge from less than official/impartial sources. I would really appreciate your insights on this issue. Thanks.

Would these qualify? http://www.detroiturbex.com/content/healthandsafety/mcgraw/index.html and https://www.nailhed.com/2014/07/pleading-6th.html and https://detroitfunk.com/comisaria-abandonado/ If age matters, these have been published for many years.

Thanks for your feedback Dan. I have located almost 300 mentions of the station in the Detroit News and Free Press from 1930 until present, but the challenge is that I had to subscribe to newspapers.com to gain access to those archives. I have saved many of those references as PDF but I am sure they are subject to copyright. Do you have any suggestions as to how they can be used as dependable sources? Trying to find out what happened with this article draft[edit]

Hi Dan,

I posted a message to Thisroadislong but have not yet received a reply....wondering if you could help me backtrack and find out what this is about. I had a draft article for "Hongju Lee Clan" declined due to reference/citation issues and decided to find appropriate sources to get the draft eventually published. After some time the draft was deleted. Then I found the draft published on another website. I have included the post I sent earlier to thisroadislong below for you to review...hope to get an answer at some point!

"Glad to see you are keeping busy.

Anyway, I wanted to get some information concerning a posting that appears not on Wikipedia but on another website called "Everybodywiki" or something similar. I have posted a link here (for reference only...I do not know what this site is or how they obtained my work in progress) : https://en.everybodywiki.com/Hongju_Lee_clan. I have no idea how a draft article appeared on this website. I did not post it. I was working on a draft (taking a while with citations and references) and then all of a sudden the draft information appeared on this website. Needless to say I was at a complete loss! I tried to contact them at "everybody" and thought they had deleted the article, yet, when I do a Google search I still see it online.

If somehow someone at Wikipedia was involved in this publishing I ask that someone contact me in order to have this article deleted for the following reasons: 1. I did not authorize publication. 2. It is a draft article only, requiring appropriate references/citations. 3. It creates confusion with an already published article in Wikipedia. If this article cannot be deleted by Wikipedia, I would like an explanation as to why it cannot be deleted. Finally, I would like to hear your thoughts on how this article went from being a draft on Wikipedia to being published on another website.

Appreciate your work and hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

Hjlresearcher" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hjlresearcher16 (talkcontribs) 21:51, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Deri Lorus (Musician) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

the target is up for speedy deletion and when deleted will make this a G8 speedy

Antigua and Barbuda embassy[edit]

Hi, I must admit I was surprised and baffled with why you rejected my article on the Antigua and Barbuda embassy in Washington, DC. I actually live in Washington, DC. You appear to live in Australia. Most embassies in DC only have a source or two, and I know because I've been through most of them. I believe you were not qualified to make this decision, and didn't look to other embassy in DC articles for context or reference. I've already resubmitted and expect it to go through this time, but I say this for future reference: if you're not going to look into something beyond a superficial level, then perhaps you need to reassess how it is you approach these issues. Notability Determinations Influenced by Sex and Race[edit]

It was very disappointing that Dan Arndt recently deemed that Sery Kim does not "qualify" as notable enough to be approved for an article. Her former colleague, Brian Harrison, who is a white male, was approved for an article. He is currently running for the same congressional seat and is a former high-ranking federal government official (same as Ms. Kim) but has far fewer qualifications and accomplishments. Sery has numerous media appearances to prove her notability within several different professions including political strategy, political analysis, women's empowerment, and food and travel writing. These were all within notable and respectable media outlets such as Fox News, BBC, and CNN. If you simply google her name, you will clearly see that she is notable. It's unfortunate that a minority female does not get the same respect from the Wikipedia community. I believe this is biased view as to whom meets the criteria as notable.Iamcybulski (talk) 20:24, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 01:35:57, 25 March 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Alan blore[edit]

This is regarding the draft page of movie - "A: Ad Infinitum". I'm not sure what else would be convincing to accept what's real on ground. There are close to 2 million people who have watched this movie in theaters and now close to a million in Amazon Prime. It's a local sensation in state of Andhra Pradesh and South India. Just that most of the people don't have internet access, they are not able to comment on this. But the truth is that - this a is widely recognized film and running successfully here in India.

Also, I did review many other movie pages and they too have same or less contact, not sure why you are not accepting only this movie - "A: Ad Infinitum"

Update 2: I have cleaned the page even more now and added more data to it, hope this helps.

Update 3: More details on the site where movie booking happen and few more telugu newspaper links have been added. I can search for pictures of all posters on road, but am sure one of the reviewers will ask hundred questions on that and remove the images too

Is the last update fine?

Thanks for the update, i will resubmit it now

Hi, The page named Tarun_Chugh got rejected saying that the person is not elected even once. But, my point here is that there are many other people with the same kind of profile have live Wikipedia pages. I can give you 2-3 examples. 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B._L._Santhosh 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B._L._Santhosh 3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_Madhav

I am not comparing or complaining, but, I am asking if there any chances for approval?

Note: Even though, Tarun_Chugh is not directly elected, he is currently serving as a National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party and state in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Ladakh and Telangana in 2020. A tag has been placed on Draft:Dr Ramesh Singh Pal, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Editing and source help[edit]

Hi Dan arndt, Hope you are healthy. Ashish Chanchlani who is an Indian YouTuber. But later the users used information from the article. And the information was so low that some users felt that the topic was not notable and a Deletion discussion was conducted on it. Deletion proved to be not notable in the discussion and was deleted. But I have decided to create it on my userspace. But the problem is that I am a bit weak in finding the right source and in the English language, I use translator to make most of the articles. But this topic is a bit big, so I cannot use the translator, because it will take a long time. So I ask you to help the source to edit it. help please –– 𝚅𝚁𝙹𝙱𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚑𝚞 06:29, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 11:09:45, 1 June 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Monujboraik2001[edit]

Hi,

Hope you are safe in this pandemic. I have published Wikipedia pages before. I have seen that many Wikipedia pages are made only using IMDb references. IMDb is a very known database for actors, films, and production companies. So, kindly, consider the IMDb reference. Anju Panchi is a very known singer from a very small state Assam, India. We do not have much media coverage due to this reason. The reference of a very popular news website is added from our state. Please review the page and let us know what more to be added to make the page valid. I request your assistance. It would be great if you could make a few changes to the page. Waiting for your response. Wishing your wellbeing

IMDb is not user-generated. It is observed by their editorial team. If the data is not valid, they delete the page. Also, a news article was also added in the Assamese Language. You will have to consider that as Wikipedia is a global thing. It contains data from all regions and languages. The reference is valid and please reconsider this article.

Monujboraik2001 (talk) 11:09, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dont speak about pages u dont have knowledge of[edit]

This is not "english wikipedia".... This website is working all around the world...its "global wikipedia".... If u are writing a page about hindus, and are thinking of running wikipedia in India, then u must respect the sentiments of hindus. How can u change the name of a hindu site, just on the basis of certain secondary Islamic texts? If u still want to name it as Adam's bridge, make it a secondary name. But change the primary name of the page to "Ram setu"....or better keep out of our matters if u are not a hindu/Indian/Sri lankan GauravMaP (talk) 13:17, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is the 'English Wikipedia' not a 'Global Wikipedia' and therefore the names reflect the commonly used English name not the Hindu name. Also anyone is free to edit articles on Wikipedia and it is not limited to individuals of a particularly nationality or religious belief. Finally do not assume that I am not Hindu/Indian/Sri Lankan or that I don't have knowledge of geography, just because I reside in Australia - that is being disrespectful. Hi Dan, thanks for your review of my album article. It's my first one, so I'm certainly still learning the ropes! I understand what you've put about needing additional sources for the article. It's one of the early albums on the ECM label, and I joined to try and make a page for every album on the label (most are already done) because it's such an important label for jazz musicians. Most other albums have a few reviews posted, but I'm having trouble finding one for this album, which I guess maybe means it's not notable enough. You mentioned Discogs shouldn't be used as a source...could I use Allmusic instead? Most other albums seem to use that as a source. There is a page for the album here - https://www.allmusic.com/album/output-mw0001882625 - but without a review. Thanks so much for your help! Lankenstein (talk) 00:32, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draftifying articles[edit]

Hello, Dan arndt,

I'm coming to you because I've seen your work around AFC and a brand new editor, Vedbas is on a tear, draftifying lots of articles (see User:Vedbas/Draftify log). I've posted them a notice asking them to stop until they have more than a week's experience editing. Here they ask about how they can get a job working for WMF so they are pretty ambitious for a new editor.

I'm hoping that you could look over the articles they draftified and see if any of them should be moved back into main space. I'd greatly appreciate your help with this. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 04:50, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Australian hip hop - edit reversion appeal[edit]

Hey Dan, I made an addition to the Australian hip hop article that you reverted tonight. I listed four or five indigenous hip hop artists in a single sentence describing them simply as notable. This is not refuted, as each artist in my sentence of NPOV prose has its own Wikipedia article already. Statements which are clearly verifiable by clicking through to any of the Wikilinked articles don't required additional citations. Could you please restore my edits? --Danimations (talk) 14:25, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Abhilasha Will[edit]

Hey dan, I made a wiki article, but now its going to delete. what can I do?

  • The main issue is that you are repeatedly creating an identical article, which has been determined not to satisfy the requirements of WP:NACTOR / WP:ANYBIO, primarily because the references that you have used are not considered to be reliable. The result is that there are now multiple drafts on the same individual. In order to stop wasting everyone's time the best approach is to delete all the various draft versions, retaining just one Draft:Leela Owen, which you can work on and address all the issues that have been identified and then submit it through the WP:AFC process, where it will be assessed and a determination made as to whether it can be moved to the mainspace or not. Abhilasha Thinuwan (Malalasekara Dictionary)[edit]

Why are you every time bothering me to make a article, when I made a article your all putting in to delete (Malalasekara Dictionary), One time I made article about this then you said I have copied and pasted, After that when I made it by own words and reliable resources of books and websites, its also putting deletion and send me policies, I read them, I read them brother, Instead making corrections of new users your doing is put it to delete. Why did you decline the page? Is he not notable? He is the official spokesperson of Nepalese governing party. He is a popular youth leader, Ex-president of NSU. Other similar articles like Pradip Paudel is also available on English and nepali wiki. Article of Sharma is availabel on wikidata and newiki. Actually, you may not know about Nepali politics so you declined. I request you to review the decision.110.44.124.164 (talk) 06:18, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding: Mutahir Showkat[edit]

Hello sir thank you so much for your edits on my newly minted draft Draft:Mutahir Showkat Sir this person is enough notable for Wikipedia but the thing is there is an Admin named as Aafi who is living in the neighborhood of the mentioned person for sure, because when i checked the Geological location of this person after he declined the draft I came to know that he is also living from the same place where from Mutahir Showkat is, the aafi has declined draft of mutahir Showkat before, as far as know the aafi is the person who has/had created articles for non notable persons tho I can say he is kind of paid editor too, Because I tried to reach Mutahir Showkat yesterday via social media but he wasn't able to reply back, then I got in contact with his team and they were like they were asked to pay for wikipedia before, but Sir Mutahir Showkat neglected to do something like that, i don't know sir what is the matter as I crated this draft for good thing I thought this person deserves the wikipedia, please look at this matter see if the mentioned person deserves to be on wikipedia thank you. Dr Hibban (talk) 05:58, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article was deleted by community consensus on 31 March 2021, and the deleting admin JGHowes also salted it. There is nothing new and the community has already decided that the subject of this fails the notability criteria of the Wikipedia. As far as allegations are concerned, I throw them in the bin. My major sphere of work is people who aren't alive, and I'm really not sure if "they have left behind any ghost" who would pay me on their behalf, and for the few BLPs that I've written, I've really a page here where I'd declare if any conflict of interest exists. Thank you. ─ The Aafī (talk) 13:04, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
