I wasn't really sure what you wanted, but I tried to address your concern at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/2012–13 Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team/archive1‎.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 07:11, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

"Home" & "The Unnatural" FAN

Since you've helped out with several other articles I've submitted for FA consideration, is there anyway you could drop by either "Home" or "The Unnatural" and drop some comments, suggestions, or a vote? :) No rush! Thanks!--Gen. Quon (Talk) 21:35, 20 October 2013 (UTC)

I'm never sure how busy you are, but if you get the chance, I've got another cricket article at PR here. As ever, your comments and sharp eyes are invaluable, but not a problem if you don't have the time or inclination. I'm just back from something of a break myself! Hi Giants2008- I have made the changes you suggested and would like some clarification on the alt test placement. I've removed the headings for the first 4 paragraphs which (I think) can serve as the lead. Please let me know if I should rework this further. Thanks-Godot13 (talk) 00:58, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Made a few edits and re-arranged some sections based on your suggestions. Please let me know if it works for you or if I should try a different approach. Thanks-Godot13 (talk) 20:08, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Front page

Hi Giants, Having had a spin through the Wikipedia talk:Today's featured list#Twice weekly threads about a second show for FLs on the front page, I was wondering how we could go about pressing for this again—or even if there is a consensus that it should happen. I'm happy to spearhead a push on this, probably starting on the TFL talk page to get an initial consensus among interested parties to tak it further. Have you got any thoughts on this? Feel free to email me directly if you'd prefer. Cheers - SchroCat (talk) 21:03, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Cheers - I'm drawing up a thread for the TFL talk page and the wording of a possible RfC; both are at User:SchroCat/litter tray 4 if you want to have a look/edit/comment. Cheers - SchroCat (talk) 09:48, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
Following on from a conversation in which you participated over a year ago, a new discussion regarding the Expansion of TFL on the main page has been started. Your views on this matter would be appreciated. – SchroCat (talk) 09:47, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

FYI, I've withdrawn a nomination at FLC. Would you like to take care of this? Regards, Zia Khan 19:17, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

ISS Spacewalks

Hi Giants,

As a demonstration of the sort of thing I was talking about at the TFL page, it appears that the next ISS spacewalk is provisionally due on the 23rd December (though that could change). Presuming that date checks out, it might make sense to target the 23rd (a Monday), and to mention today's scheduled spacewalk in the blurb. That's a good example of the sort of thing I was talking about when I spoke about maximising the potential of the lists we have – it does not always mean actually changing the lists we pick. —WFCFL wishlist 16:48, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

From the perspective of someone who would like to see a TFL expansion, this one-off piece of effort was probably a win-win. If it does well relative to other parts of the Main Page then perhaps those who disagree with my stance on delaying the TFL expansion for a little bit may have a better appreciation of where I'm coming from, and start to embrace date relevance to a slightly greater extent than at present. If it does poorly, you would have one more counter to my arguments that you currently have.

Despite my notable ego, it's not all that important to me whether I'm right or wrong about date relevance. What matters is that whatever consensus is reached on the medium term future of TFL is the one which is best for lists on Wikipedia, both in terms of readership and drawing new editors in. Whether I'm right or wrong about the overall benefits of date relevance, the pros and cons are unquestionably worth exploring. —WFCFL wishlist 09:08, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi Giants, this FAC has languished for a month. I'd been reluctant to archive it for a while as I saw no obvious barriers to promotion following my customary spotchecks for prose, referencing, structure, etc, however it's decision time now and I'd like to give you a chance to declare one way or the other (if you're prepared to of course) since you'd commented earlier... Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 06:43, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

61st Oscars

Hi there, I wanted to ask you if you find this piece of information added by User:Korny O'Near acceptable for inclusion for the 61st Oscars. I am wondering if it sounds too gossipy or sensationalistic for a featured list.

Bowman herself has claimed that she was made to sign a gag order the next day prohibiting her from speaking to the press about her performance for the next 13 years. She finally spoke about it publicly in a 2013 interview, in which she described the performance as looking "like a gay bar mitzvah".

Hi, can you review this nomination when you get some time? Vensatry (Ping me) 14:16, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

I read the list and didn't spot anything missed by the other reviewers. Therefore, I give it a clean bill of health and want to stay out of the FLC to give myself the option to close the nomination when the time comes. I can't really do that if I support, due to the inherent COI. Giants2008 (Talk) 17:14, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
Alright and thanks Giants! Vensatry (Ping me) 17:23, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
Hi, can you review this nomination mainly for the prose part alone. It's been sitting in the queue for quite some time. Vensatry (Ping me) 04:42, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
Hi Giants, I've responded to your comments. Vensatry (Ping me) 06:57, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello; you gave input on the first nomination of 2007 Appalachian State vs. Michigan football game, so I thought I would inform you that the article is back up for featured article for a second attempt. You are welcome to review it and comment on it (or not) if you want, but I figured I would inform that it is back up to spark discussion. Thanks, Toa Nidhiki05 16:15, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 1982 Virginia vs. Chaminade basketball game, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Texas Longhorns basketball (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Ah My Goddess FLRC

I saw that you demoted Ah! My Goddess (season 1) from Featured List with edit summary "Delisted after FLRC ended in November". However the FLRC is still ongoing. See Wikipedia:Featured list removal candidates/Ah! My Goddess (season 1)/archive1. Can the delisting be reverted so that the FLRC can run its course? Extremepro (talk) 22:27, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

The FLRC ended on November 11 as a delisting with this edit. The reason the FLRC appeared to still be in progress is that the bot that normally finishes closing FLCs and FLRCs hasn't been working for months. Since it wasn't really closed before now, I can understand the confusion. I have to look into why the FLRC page itself isn't closing; there's probably a step that I overlooked, since I don't have much experience with manual closures. To get the star back on the list, you should bring it to FLC, where the list can undergo further review. Giants2008 (Talk) 16:07, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

DYK for 1982 Virginia vs. Chaminade basketball game

The DYK project (nominate) 00:02, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2014 WikiCup!

Hello Giants2008, and welcome to the 2014 WikiCup! Your submission page can be found here. The competition will begin at midnight tonight (UTC). There have been a few small changes from last year; the rules can be read in full at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring, and the page also includes a summary of changes. One important rule to remember is that only content on which you have completed significant work, and nominated, in 2014 is eligible for points in the competition- the judges will be checking! As ever, this year's competition includes some younger editors. If you are a younger editor, you are certainly welcome, but we have written an advice page at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Advice for younger editors for you. Please do take a look. Any questions should be directed to one of the judges, or left on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will make it to round 2. Good luck! Sources for in-depth stats on hockey players?

Hello Giants2008, I notice that you're a skilled hockey editor. Here's a tough question on hockey stats: might you know of a source that could provide info as in-depth as a player's weight in any given year of his career? I'm interested in understanding how Gretzky's weight progressed during his time as a pro. Thanks! EMP (talk) 18:27, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks much for the info you provided on my talk page--very kind. I did manage to find some info in this area after trying quite a few search terms with Google Books and HighBeam research. EMP (talk) 01:03, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

TFL

Was cricket really over-represented at TFL. I didn't know that! Vensatry (Ping me) 03:50, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

In terms of the number of cricket lists that have been running in relation to the number of lists on other sports, the sport is being run a little too much. I don't necessarily think we need to wait a year to run another cricket TFL, but it would be nice to see other sports represented occasionally. We have plenty of good football/soccer, basketball, American football, and hockey lists, and I'd love to see some of those nominated for a main page appearance. It would contribute to TFL diversity and be nice to see personally, as a sports fan. I'm still a big fan of all the fine work that you and the rest of the cricket editors do, though! Giants2008 (Talk) 23:06, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
Hmmm, but do we have to really wait until 2015? Vensatry (Ping me) 07:33, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) I'm not sure it'll have to be that long, but maybe a month or three off the page may suffice? Now if we had a second slot on the front page, then we would be able to showcase a nice diverse range of work, and do so in a timely fashion. I'll start the RfC on the Front page talk page shortly. - SchroCat (talk) 08:17, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
