A tag has been placed on Diana Huey requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The article Charlie Barnett (actor) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Yuri Sardarov requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

A tag has been placed on Josh Ford (soccer), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Hope Springs Eternal (film) moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Hope Springs Eternal (film), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Control copyright icon Hi Mukilteoedits. I've removed the episode summaries and requested that they be revdelled due to them being copied from the standard episode summaries without evidence that they've been released under a suitable licence. That said even if they were or if you'd created them yourself, the tone is all wrong for an encyclopedia -- WP:TONE applies. ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 03:47, 23 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I had noticed on another podcast page that the summaries were copied directly from the episode summaries, so I thought that was the standard (this was one of my first podcast articles). Thank you for the feedback, I'll be sure to look into this.

@Robert McClenon: Thank you for the feedback. One question I have regarding your feedback is that you stated the sources were only passing mentions. This simply is not true. I cited more than 100 sources in this article, and while some of them do contain passing mentions, many do not. For example, Chicago Tribune, E! News, Architectural Digest, People, and this one HuffPost, among others. Additionally, notability is not temporary WP:NTEMP, and the most recent community consensus was to allow new draft, and you can find at least two other editors (alongside myself) who have commented on the main page talk page requesting that an article be made for this subject. I believe he meets WP:ENT parts one and two. He has been a main cast member in more than 140 episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, has his own show on E!Network (new since last discussion of his notability), and has guest starred on a number of other shows. In reference to point two of WP:ENT, he has a large fan base (23.5 million Instagram followers; 6.8 million Twitter followers). Finally, the current redirect does not make sense, because he is no longer dating Kourtney Kardashian. He also meets WP:GNG, because he has significant coverage (which a quick Google search will show).

A tag has been placed on Lia Epperson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://collegium.universite-lyon.fr/mme-lia-epperson--39488.kjsp and http://digitalcommons.law.scu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1041&context=facpubs. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --Puddleglum2.0(How's my driving?) 19:32, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This was a false positive, as the material was not copied, but the deletion was triggered by the references section and the lengthy names of institutions at which Epperson worked. Another user has confirmed and removed the tag. Mukedits (talk) 21:22, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Mukilteoedits. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Deeper with the Dolan Twins".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Chief advocacy officer moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Chief advocacy officer, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Create a page[edit]

Hello,

My name is Franck. I’m founder of the hair are brand IGK HAIR and a celebrity hairstylist in US. I saw that you created for Jen atkin her page. Are you still editing pages ? Franckizquierdo (talk) 17:15, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Franckizquierdo: I am still creating and editing pages. If you would like to create a page for your company you should do two things.

1) you should create a page at Draft:IGK Hair and edit that page. When it's ready, you can submit it for review, and if it is approved, you it will be accepted by an article reviewer. In order to be approved there must be significant coverage of the company. 2) In creating the page, you MUST declare on the talk page that you are a founder and have a bias in creating the article. Hope this helps Mukedits (talk) 22:51, 11 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Julius Jones[edit]

Thank you for creating the Julius Jones page. It was much needed on Wikipedia due to the amount of attention the case has been receiving, I was hoping someone was going to write it for ages. I've decided to start a requested move page on the current Julius Jones page because he is clearly not the primary topic. Maybe in the future your page can be renamed to just Julius Jones because I feel he is the most notable person with that name. Inexpiable (talk) 09:54, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Diannaa: The "copyright" violation was the text of the law the page is covering explaining the legal requirements. U.S. federal and state laws are not protected by copyright. Can you please restore? The text is necessary for people to understand the law. If you cannot restore, can you advise on next steps? Mukedits (talk) 19:57, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but no. Wikipedia cannot be considered as a reliable source for copyright information. Under current copyright law, all literary works are subject to copyright whether they are tagged as such or not, unless specifically released under license or into the public domain. The only states that currently mark their documents as public domain are Florida and California. Please feel free to ask at Talk:CP or ask one of the people on this list for a second opinion.— Diannaa (talk) 20:40, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Diannaa: In Georgia v. Public.Resource.Org, Inc., the Supreme Court ruled that laws are not copyrightable because "Under the government edicts doctrine, judges — and we now confirm, legislators — may not be considered the ‘authors’ of the works they produce in the course of their official duties as judges and legislators..." Even before this case, it is well settled that US laws and cases are public domain. I'm also not sure laws are literary works...

I'm not sure how the copyright law you are citing can apply to laws. I'm in law school and would never want to violate copyright law, so I am genuinely just trying to understand. If it's a simply a Wikipedia policy, then that's fine. That being said, some of the material you removed I had summarized myself and was not directly quoted from the law, which is frustrating for me. Am I able to rewrite the edits to the page and include the text of the law as a quote, or is that going to cause an issue. Mukedits (talk) 23:46, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't add the text of the law here. Regardlessa of the copyright isasue, such large quotations are not suitable here, as Wikipedia is written in a summary style, avoiding the use of quotations unless there's no alternative. If you believe the text is public domain, consider adding it to Wikisource. Otherwise you could link to it in the external links and summarize the law in your own words in the body of the article.— Diannaa (talk) 01:46, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Matthew Reeves has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Quoting from WP:CRIME:

For perpetrators,

  1. The victim of the crime is a renowned national or international figure, including, but not limited to, politicians or celebrities;[1] or
  2. The motivation for the crime or the execution of the crime is unusual—or has otherwise been considered noteworthy—such that it is a well-documented historic event. Generally, historic significance is indicated by sustained coverage of the event in reliable secondary sources which persists beyond contemporaneous news coverage and devotes significant attention to the individual's role.[2]
    • Note: A living person accused of a crime is presumed not guilty unless and until the contrary is decided by a court of law. Editors must give serious consideration to not creating an article on an alleged perpetrator when no conviction is yet secured.
  • This was a run of the mill murder case that does not come close to satisfying the above criteria. Safiel (talk) 01:29, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
