Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Paralympic Games into Cheating at the Paralympic Games. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 19:50, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm KDTW Flyer. I noticed that you made a change to an article, 2018 Winter Paralympics, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. KDTW Flyer (talk) 02:00, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

NGR and TPE at the winter olympics

[edit]

I am not sure what you are reading but neither has qualified athletes yet. The women's bobsled quotas will be established on January 14th, 2018, I asked you to look at the talk page for more information or discussion on it. As for TPE in speed skating, what is your evidence that they have received a quota? We have an unsourced table that listed current standings, I can only hope that you have something more than that. Please stop making these additions until you have something official that confirms.18abruce (talk) 10:14, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

iihf at the olympics

[edit]

Just to let you know, the IIHF does not grant automatic qualification to the olympic hosts. The Koreans were initially denied, but the IIHF changed their mind after a year of consideration. In general most sports have minimum requirements for the hosts to qualify, the IIHF will likely set out expectations for China following the Korea olympics. I believe the qualification pages for the upcoming hockey tournaments are sourced with an explanation as to the decision for Korea.18abruce (talk) 21:49, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, Simon 1996. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop making test edits to Wikipedia, as you did to IIHF World Ranking. It is considered vandalism, which, under Wikipedia policy, can lead to being blocked from editing. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. . Russia will not receive a zero, the IIHF says russia is competing, and even if disqualified, disqualified teams in higher tournaments never receive a zero. Please ask questions, and stop this.18abruce (talk) 16:00, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There is no rule as to when it is updated, as close to the olympics as possible is better though. But you should not update the table until you understand the material. You need to ask questions, research IIHF history, and then discuss. It is not okay to repeatedly present incorrect and speculative information.18abruce (talk) 16:16, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Simon 1996,

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
