Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Unilandofma! Your additions to Draft:Hiriya School have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 12:38, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your edit to Avid College has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. Dhaalu Atoll Hospital[edit]

I reverted your edits to Dhaalu Atoll Hospital because a single source makes no claim of notability. Per this AfD, that page will remain a redirect. I recommend that you build content about the hospital on the extant article per WP:SPINOUT. Chris Troutman (talk) 19:22, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

December 2023[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Mohamed Muizzu, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Academic titles don't get added to names at the beginning of articles. See MOS:DOC. Complaint[edit]

Why are you spreading misinformation regarding the allegation against Zamzam? There's not enough evidence to support it, and not to mention, an individual has nothing to do with the whole school; you can't just make it part of Arabiyya. It wouldn't be logical to put a section "homosexuality" under Maldives in Wikipedia and mention the Alamgiri incident, would it? Ergo, please do refrain from adding it back again. Last, but not least, you mentioned that he sexually harassed male students; that has no truth whatsoever to it— not even rumours say anything like that. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ahmed Usham, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Maldivian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello, Unilandofma. Thank you for your work on Maldives–South Korea relations. Pilaz, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Well done on this article! If you want to create future bilateral relations articles (or any other article), beware of relying too much on WP:PRIMARY sources: for articles to pass the general notability guideline (WP:GNG), we require in-depth coverage of the subject of the article in multiple, independent secondary sources. It's quite routine for foreign ministries to lay basic facts about bilateral relations, but we usually require newspapers to talk about the relationship in order to preserve the article. Cheers!

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Pilaz}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Belarus–Maldives relations moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Belarus–Maldives relations. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and we need to see sources discussing and explaining the international relations between Belarus and the Maldives, not simply side-by-side fact profiles about the countries' basic information. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. IgnatiusofLondon (he/him☎️) 00:01, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Embassy of the Maldives, Abu Dhabi[edit]

Hello Unilandofma, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Embassy of the Maldives, Abu Dhabi, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Embassy of the Maldives, Abu Dhabi.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Pilaz}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
