Follow-up from "article translation deal"

Remember that so-called "Article translation deal" that we made in August 2010? Well, I have one more article that needs to be expanded: Mineirão, which is a stadium that was recently renovated for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Jim856796 (talk) 00:10, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for creating this article. It's been unreferenced for years now and is tagged for notability, as not meeting WP:NSONGS. Could you look it over and see if you can help? Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 17:49, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Article Feedback deployment

Hey Victor Lopes; I'm dropping you this note because you've used the article feedback tool in the last month or so. On Thursday and Friday the tool will be down for a major deployment; it should be up by Saturday, failing anything going wrong, and by Monday if something does :). Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:54, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

Salad Uprising

Help with translation

Good morrning,

I am currently trying to translate the following letter, and I've already managed to get most of it done with the help of Google translator and a dictionary, but this approach certainly has its limits and you never can be sure that the result is free of error, so I would be glad, if you could help me out, fill in the missing bits and correct whatever mistakes I have made. It's not that long, so I hope it won't take too much time.

Translation Original
The reason I am writing these few lines is not to justify the wrong I have done, but it is only in this way that I can prove to the entire world, and can challenge those who wanted to prove that I was a homosexual, I was not, (nem vou ser por esse comentário foi que aconteceu toda essa tragédia) I don't feel like a normal person, after these lies have been told about me.

Here I write my final words, they may say I went crazy so I recommend everyone's souls to God.

And I hope God will forgive me for what I did, but it was my only solution. I hope this letter will be sent to J. Gomes, so he can disclose it to the public, and it may advise everyone not to bear false witness against other people.

I stop here because I no longer have conditions

I wish everybody a life in dignity which I had not.

I may even fail to avenge the death of my son if I have no conditions

I was difficult to live unaccepted in society because of a single caboclo who told lies about me but now is dead.

I beg forgiveness from all who try to understand me. I did not do it for fun, but was forced to.

Still going on I leave a strong hug and a kiss to all my family, and my whole family no matter the religion, but let them all get together, and create a strong chain of prayer so that God may take care of my soul.

GOODBYE

TO

EVERYONE

Signed Jenildo

He may have meant something like: "And I'm not going to be [an homosexual] because of this comment. All this tragedy happened because of that comment". Victão Lopes I hear you... 19:45, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
So it was not only my own incompetence that prevented me from getting together a proper translation. That's a relief, at least somewhat. I want to thank you for your help, though there still are a few points where I'd need some clarification.
Could "nem vou ser por esse comentário foi que aconteceu toda essa tragédia" mean something like:
"nor am I going to be [an homosexual] because of this claim, which is the reason for this tragedy"
What "conditions" is he talking about? The first one may be a reference to the condition of sending the letter to J. Gomes, but the sentence "I may even fail to avenge the death of my son if I have no conditions" doesn't make any sense to me. Google translates "se não tiver condições" into "if you can not afford", so could it be that he wants to say that he is not able to avenge his son's death, because of his lacking financial condition?
Also, would "mais condições" not be "any more/further conditions"? And what's the meaning of "tava"? None of the dictionaries I have consulted knows that word, though it definitely is in the original handwritten letter.
Finally, would "It was difficult to live" not be a better translation for "Tava difício viver", instead of "I was difficult to live", or is the "I" simply a spelling mistake? (Thusz (talk) 13:34, 6 July 2013 (UTC))
I see. The guy who wrote the letter was probably under a lot of pressure while doing so, so I suppose that it is quite possible that he got a bit redundant in the sentence about avenging his son. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned I don't have any more questions, so thanks for the clarification and helping out. (Thusz (talk) 14:05, 7 July 2013 (UTC))

Category:1989 establishments in Germany is not a subcategory of Category:German musical groups‎. Nor really should it be. Category:1989 establishments in Germany deals with organizations, business, etc... not music. Why would Oomph! be in the same category as German Alternative, Collection of German Prints, etc...? -dashiellx (talk) 17:37, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

I concede the point that Category:German industrial music groups is a subcategory of Category:German musical groups‎. However, I still do not think Category:1989 establishments in Germany is appropriate. Using the same logic for removing the German Musical Group cat, since the article is already in Category:Musical groups established in 1989 it seems 1989 establishments in Germany is not needed. -dashiellx (talk) 11:25, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

I apologize for accusing you of edit warring and not understanding why you removed what turned out to be a redundancy on my part. Thank you for contributing though!

Hi: I understand your frustration, but please don't bite the newbies. The guy hadn't been welcomed and didn't know our rules concerning notability and verifiability. Please don't tell these folks they aren't improving the encyclopedia - they are trying to do so. I've now left him a fat welcome template and a note laying it out, so hopefully he will now understand what his articles need to have. Yngvadottir (talk) 04:10, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
