Orphaned non-free media (Image:Greenville Drive.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Greenville Drive.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currentlyorphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:52, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for the edit to Geography of the Soviet Union. It was a long edit, and I probably got tired of following the blue links / missed that that one led to a disambiguaton page. And congrats! You're the first editor who has changed one of my edits who hasn't savaged it or outright reverted it.Anarchangel (talk) 11:22, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploadingImage:OtisJohnson.jpg, which you've sourced tohttp://www.ci.savannah.ga.us/cityweb/webdatabase.nsf/E12F5A82DA01561685256AB6006C3E62/3F6DC97D79C23C2D85256AB7004832F7. I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by followingthis link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 12:51, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Election templates

For many months from now User:CieloEstrellado is changing the format of many many electoral templates (see for instancethis andthis is how the template was before). Other users and I have been very tired of this, also because CieloEstrellado is not interested in discussing the issue. What can we do about it? Do you agree with CieloEstrellado's edits? You can reply in my talk or at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Elections and Referenda, where I posted a similar post. Thak you! --Checco (talk) 11:12, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Template TodaysFinancialNews

Dear WHK,

I've strengthened the todaysfinancialnews template. You probably don't realize that claiming that a financial crash is going on is the moral equivalent of shouting "fire" in a crowded theater. Wikipedia has had a problem with this - last Jan 21 (MLK's Birthday), Sept. 30, and even today. We need a very bold template to make people realize what's happening (an inexperienced, panicked editor) and what's probably not happening (a market crash - these only happen once a generation, or at worst once every decade).

Do you remember the January 21, 2008 crash? Neither does anybody else, because it never happened. Yet Wikipedia had an article - linked from the main page for a week - essentially telling everybody to panic, a crash was happening.

Please help me stop this type of nonsense.

Thanks for your consideration.

What is redirecting it the best option? It isn't like the template is redirected on article pages. What appears on article pages is literally this: "#REDIRECT [[Template:Buffynav]]". It serves no purpose since the redirect doesn't actually work in articles.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 12:23, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Novak Dobrosavljević deletion

Hello,
I want to ask why did you deleted my article and categorized it as hoax.
Gulsrb (talk) 13:10, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Novak Dobrosavljević deletion

The article has been deleted before because I added some rubbish into the first version of it. Then I wrote a new one short and clear. As for proof of its notability and verifiability, I suggest to google “Nole Sexoman” or “Nole Seksoman” you can also add keywords like “Kosava”,”Fantasik Erotik” if you want to be sure.

Pre-code films

Hi. I've reverted a couple of your edits to films from the 20's, because I don't understand your reasoning. The category involved is Category:Films made before the MPAA Production Code. It would seem to me that any film made before 1930, when the code was promulgated, was (by definition), made before the code, and therefore should fit into the category, while any film made between 1930 and 1934 was made before the code was enforced and therefore also should fit into the category de facto. I'm not quite sure why you seem to be allowing only films in the second class to be in the category. Can you explain your thinking to me, or point me to a discussion that covers this subject? Thanks. Ed Fitzgerald t / c 17:39, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

I see that on the category page it says

A listing of American Pre-Code films created between March 31, 1930, when the Production Code was adopted, and July 1, 1934, when it was seriously enforced.

but I still don't see how that jibes with the name of the category. Ed Fitzgerald t / c 17:42, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
I do wish some attention would be given to the name, to bring it in line with the intent of the category, but... It looks like you were correct, so I'll go back and change back those reversions I made. Ed Fitzgerald t / c 18:52, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

NavBox « Cruel Intentions »

Since you are an Administrator and have edited the NavBox Template:Cruel Intentions perhaps you can answer this question: Is a NavBox for a (horribly) mediocre series of « B films » genuinely justified in Wikipédia? - - - Personally, I hate to see good subjects with historical articles such as: Pierre Choderlos de Laclos and Les Liaisons dangereuses (Original Novel) - and even articles about films that have received critical acclaim by respected reviewers and Academy Award nominations, in this case: Dangerous Liaisons and Valmont - polluted (my English is not good enough to choose a better word) with trivial nonsense things like this. I strongly believe NavBoxes like these should be immediately deleted. However, your status as Administrator and by your actions (editing the NavBox) implies to me that you feel this kind of junk is justified in Wikipédia. (Please do not take this statement personally. It is NavBoxes for lousy purposes that perturb me.) - - - So, please explain to me why you feel that the Template:Cruel Intentions should exist when references in the « Cruel Intentions » movie article should suffice? (Please reply below so this conversation will remain integral.) Most respectfully, Charvex (talk) 19:59, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your comments. However, you did not reply to my question. - - To restate it, seeking only your opinion and to be more direct, do you feel the NavBox for « Cruel Intentions » is appropriate? (I will not suggest a nomination for deletion without your affirmation.) Sincerely, Charvex (talk) 07:24, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
I have a second question: Are the « Cruel Intention » films « notable »? (I notice you use this as a point for evaluation in comments to others.) Respectfully, Charvex (talk) 07:37, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

I noticed your change to Bristol, disambig to University of Bristol. The position of Dean that Levett held is a position of authority in the Anglican Church and has nothing to do with the University. Hi. I'm confused by your statement that this article is not a copyright violation. Compare for example this text from our article:

with this text from the source:

Can you explain why you don't feel this is infringement? The source bears a clear copyright notice. I have blanked the article again to prevent publication while this question is resolved. If we don't agree, we may need to seek a third administrator to offer an opinion. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:47, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I didn't G12 it because it had non-infringing content in the history, but I didn't want to simply delete the pasted material in case the contributor could verify permission. (S)he has returned to editing and did not address the matter one way or another, so it seems likely that (s)he could not. One of his or her articles was tagged by Coren's bot, and on investigation I unfortunately found quite a few more articles of concern. Hopefully it was a simple misunderstanding of copyright policies and won't be an issue in the future. In any event, I've deleted all but the clean versions of this one. It's a bit stubby, but at least its legal. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:03, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Request for clarification

Please clarify. In particular how you weighed the comments of the participants in determining consensus. - jc37 17:45, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

I see a pretty strong consensus for keep on the discussion page. If not keep, then at least for no consensus, which defaults to keep (due to the very spirited discussion on both sides). --WoohookittyWoohoo! 18:48, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
What were the arguments from "both sides", which you took under consideration in making this determination? (I'm trying to understand the "how" and "why" of this closure.) - jc37 18:18, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
I think anyone can read the discussion themselves and see it was pretty clear that this is either a keep or a no consensus. Making me enunciate both sides is a bit silly in a case such as this. If you want to go to deletion review, it is certainly your right to. But honestly, I don't see any reason here to enunciate what users can plainly see by reading the discussion. Whether I declared it to be "keep" or "no consensus", the result is the same. I cannot really see a "delete" coming out of that discussion. The one side stated that this was a clearly defined category, which they argued is the point of categorization. The other side generally argued that it's not clearly defining enough to be a category. Was more than that said? Yes. But that's really the crux of the discussion. And what I see is a general consensus that it is defining. Like I said, I can see someone looking at it and seeing no consensus. But the result would be the same. I just don't see a strong consensus for delete in what was said. The loudness of the arguments isn't really a factor. It's what the general consensus is when you put all of the views together. And I simply see a keep consensus. As I said, if you disagree, feel free to go to DR. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 05:54, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
First, I think you are misunderstanding my request, and further, if anyone is presuming "bad faith", it's you in this case. (And attacking me here and in email, seems, well, ridiculous to me.)
When you close a discussion, you're doing just that, you're closing a discussion.
And a discussion may cover a host of things.
I'm a big fan of consensus, true, real, actual consensus. What these discussions are intended to represent.
How does that work? Well, we "presume" that the small cross section of commenters, by their comments, hopefully represent the thoughts of all Wikipedians.
And these discussions are more than just "keep" or "delete". They represent a discussion of Wikipedians who presumably are doing their best through discussion, to find the best possible course.
And it's done through evidentiary/policy/guidelines supported comments.
And knowing how you (or anyone else) may have weighed these comments of the commenters may help guide me or anyone else in future discussions.
This, last I checked, is called learning.
Now, I understand if you feel that you can't be bothered to explain your closure, for whatever reasons you may decide.
But consider that some people may ask for a clarification, without the "goal" or "agenda" of looking toward DRV. Indeed, DRV is supposed to only be for inappropriate/improper closures. It's not to be XfD2.
So pardon me, if I'm asking a Wikipedian who has, as they say: "been closing discussions for a long, long time", in order to learn what their thought process was in this discussion, and in discussions in general.
And further, any of us who close discussions should be able to easily explain a closure, point by point. If we can't, we shouldn't be closing discussions. It would simply be irresponsible.
At this point, I won't repeat my request. You can actually respond or not, if you feel you can be bothered. But, needless to say, I find the lack of good faith here disturbing, to say the least. - jc37 14:26, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

"Regression"

In policy capturing you included several links to regression, a disambiguation page listing such things as hypnotic regression (i.e. recalling an earlier period in one's life) software regression (i.e. reappearance of an old software bug), etc. I don't think that was what you intended. I have been looking at the templates. In states where there are a lot of large cities fewer of the smaller city mayors seem to be completed. I am trying to understand if they are overlooked or if they are less important in states with many other large cities. I think it could be both. A second or third city in a metropolitan area probably has fewer of the important duties that make a mayor important. E.G., A metro area will only have one airport that needs to be worried about. Any ways I think these templates may help editor-readers figure out how to help out.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 05:57, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
In some cases they may have more power in certain dimensions. Arlington, TX, hosts Major League Baseball and Irving, TX hosts the National Football League. I imagine in many cases a second or third city in a metro area may actually host the airport. Instead of arbitrarily choosing, I just went by the list on WP, which is sortable by state. I had worked on the Byron Brown article last month and wanted to give him a template to make his article look as good as possible while he is being considered (as a darkhorse candidate) to be Hillary's replacement in the Senate. I decided to start with the state I was born in, LA, the state I was raised in, NY, and the state I live in, IL. Then I did states where I have family, TX and TN, a template for an article I have on the main page at the moment (Kasim Reed), GA, and I did FL and CA just because I like to visit them. Maybe I should stop and see if people like them before I do any more.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 06:17, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Would you mind if I deleted this? We already have Category:Flora of Texas, which is not presently in need of a split; wildflowers is a slippery term that could mean plants or flowering plants or flowering plants not of a commercial breed or ornamental flowering plants not of a commercial breed or ornamental flowering plants not of a commercial breed that are used in the cut flower industry; and there is no wildflowers category for any other US state, nor the United States as a whole, nor any other country. I've been working on categories in this area for a while now, and this particular category sticks out as difficult and unusual.

I just started a general article on Hill people and saw you had done some clean-up. I am trying for a broad-brush overview that might get a young person interested in the variety of people in the world. Not too serious or deep. Reminiscent of picture books I found fascinating as a child. But is this appropriate for Wikipedia? If it is, how should it be improved? Looking for advice... I appreciate your efforts to disambiguate, but your changes in 1996 were both wrong; both demolitions were on The Strip, rather than in the city. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 16:23, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Question: Is it possible to move this article to the proper title? Currently, if you click on eden ahbez, for example, in the article about the song "Nature Boy," you are taken to eden Ahbez, which is a redirect from Eden ahbez. This is not correct. The name should be spelt with no capital letters. There is also Eden Ahbez, which should redirect to the proper name. How do we sort this out? ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 15:02, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for making the move. I will go through and sort out the redirects as soon as I have the time. Cheers! ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 00:12, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Hmmm... taking a look at it again, I see that if one removes the template at the top, as I did, it goes back to Eden ahbez. This is very strange to me... ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 02:21, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes, that helped a lot, actually. Thanks! I am currently fixing the redirects. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 02:43, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Skiet

A tag has been placed on Skiet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Deleted template around again

Hi, on Dec 27, you deleted the template "8 largest SM supermalls". [11] I just came across that template again, this time hidden in a parent template - Template:SMPH. Just thought you wanted to know and wanted to do something about it. Shrumster (talk) 07:47, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Checking the template page history, looks like User:Kamatis.kamote is trying to evade the deletion of the template by hiding it within another, similar template. The deleted material was added on December 30, after the previous template was deleted. [12] Shrumster (talk) 07:50, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Hi, sorry to bother you. Just wanted to let you know. He tried to stick the template in the SMPH template yet again. [13] Good thing he was reverted. And I recently trimmed the template hard-coded from several mall articles.[14] Is there anything we should do? Shrumster (talk) 15:10, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Redirect to Jersey (clothing)

Actually there is something in Jersey (fabric), or was, that is not in Jersey (clothing), namely the latter is an article about the garments, not about the fabric.[15] And, the Jersey (clothing) article has no references--so you've now removed something that not only isn't in the article, but is pretty important for Wikipedia articles: citations. Also the clothing article doesn't discuss the construction of the fabric, the main types, doesn't contain any of the additional information I stated in my edit summary (bolded below) that the fabric article needs.

So, please either revert yourself, or weave the references, and discussion of the fabric, and types of materials into a long section on the fabric in the clothing article, leaving space for the printing and the manufacture. Either way is fine by me, but I am working on it now, so the focus is different if I'm talking about the fabric itself versus the fabric that is used to make the clothing--and I'm only interested in the textile not the garments. Let me know.

Or, post this on the article's talk page and other editors can weigh in--which is useful when moving an article that someone is actively working on, as my edit summary clearly showed.

Disambiguation

Hey Woohookitty, thanks for fixing some of my links to Native American or Indian topics in the Randolph, Tennessee article. I know it was not the first time, because I have noticed your username before on my watchlist. Is that not one of the most positive things on Wikipedia? You miss something or don't do it right and soon someone comes along and fixes the errors. Recently, I disambiguated hundreds of links to Memphis and Nashville, hundreds of them, really. And while I was doing that I asked myself occasionally: Why aren't these people doing it right from the beginning? Aren't they checking their links at all? I wasn't seriously asking myself, of course, because I know how it happens. Sometimes you are in a writing mood and neglect the correctness of the links initially. Well, I do that sometimes. So you are probably going to catch one or two of my lapses again.

I am glad that there are good people like you around here to tirelessly keep Wikipedia clean, tidy and as perfect as possible. Thanks, take care and happy editing, doxTxob \ talk 22:40, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

FiveIdiotSquad Page's Deletion

Hi there. I am one of the members of the youtube group "FiveIdiotSquad" whose article was deleted. As Wikipedia is probably best known for the posting and management of correct, concise, and non-biased articles on subjects, we felt that putting information about us on Wikipedia of all places would be the right choice.

My guess was that compared to other YouTube users, we are, as you said "non-notable", and writing an article about yourself would probably be vain. In no way did we wish to advertise about ourselves using Wikipedia's host space, that would be grotesque misuse. We only wanted to give users that we hope to accumulate a place to turn to to learn information about us.

If there are any rules/guidelines we violated by making our article, I would be more than happy to be made aware of them.

I also realize that if all YouTube users that considered themselves "notable", then there would be countless articles popping up on Wikipedia, and that would only lead to chaos for Wikipedia's servers.

We will probably turn to another hosting service to make a website for us, with its own information page, but we would like to know if we can keep our article up until then.

Also, thank you for your service to Wikipedia! Your contributions clearly show your intent to keep Wikipedia the best it can be.

Songs by Keith Getty

You recently moved a page called “Songs by Keith Getty” to Keith Getty discography. I think your intentions were good, but you probably misunderstood the function of the page. Although it contains links to albums by Keith Getty, a chronological discography appears separately on the main Keith Getty page. This page is a list of songs written by him, similar to what you might find for other composers, like [of compositions by Aaron Copland], but presented with more detailed information than the Copland page. The most significant difference between a list of songs or compositions and a discography page is that this list (in progress) will eventually include songs that may have been published but not (yet) recorded. Thus, this is not a list of his recorded output, rather this is a list of his published songs, sorted alphabetically by title. Please change the the title back to what it was. --Fennertree (talk) 17:15, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

I notice that this category you created is unpopulated (empty). In other words, no Wikipedia pages belong to it. If it remains unpopulated for four days, it may be deleted, without discussion, in accordance with Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. I'm notifying you in case you wish to (re-)populate it by adding [[Category:North Dakota government navigational boxes]] to articles/categories that belong in it.

I blanked the category page. This will not, in itself, cause the category to be deleted. It serves to document (in the page history) that the category was empty at the time of blanking and also to alert other watchers that the category is in jeopardy. You are welcome to revert the blanking if you wish. However, doing so will not prevent deletion if the category remains empty.

If you created the category in error, or it is no longer needed, you can speed up the deletion process by tagging it with {{db-author}}.

A quick question about categories; I've just created one for albums by Italian singer-songwriter Alice, and I've placed the Category:Alice albums tag on all the respective pages, and that usually does the trick, but somehow this time the page "Alice albums" is marked red and blank - what do I do?

Much obliged, and I'll add the Italian albums category to all her albums as well, while I'm at it, thanks for the tip. Thanks also for all the hard work you've put into disambiguation here on Wikipedia over the past few years, I've created quite a few biographies and album pages myself and it's very appreciated.

Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Sigh... I don't know what to do. I (of course with my own preconceptions and POV) think it is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous to have statements of the caliber that that edit showed without some serious qualifiers. Someone (heck, maybe the professor himself) goes and treats his book as gospel and makes all those changes from the page that I thought was a fairly balanced and reasonable article (arrived at by much compromise on both our sides, especially yours). I reverted--I mean, I can't stand seeing the page like that. I'll post on the talk page but... Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Hopefully it'll all go away or the editor in question will have a eureka moment about the page as an example of WP:V. Matt Yeager (Talk?) 23:44, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Another quick question...

...feel free to reply in your own time. Right after I talked to you yesterday I created a discography template for Alice (that Italian singer again) and I most obviously did something wrong, because now when I try to edit it I'm automatically redirected to another template, also simply named Alice, and I'm told "Note: This page has been semi-protected so that only established users can edit it." etc etc. Any ideas? Disambiguation seems to be your forte so....

Thanks in advance, again

/S

Neutral POV vs. editor bias

Back in November you edited the Peter Fox (artist) page - that's me. I see that you have an anti-vandalism specialty and so I thought maybe you could straighten something out. I recently noticed that a Wiki editor named Daniel Rigal has tagged the page as an Autobiography and with a warning that it "may not conform to Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy". He comments "This article seems to be substantially written by its subject. Given its pretty basic content this may not be a problem but I thought it should be mentioned."

Reading the Wiki neutral POV policy, I see no reason for his action. When I read his own Talk page, I see that he delights in challenging/deleting/defacing articles with material posted by the article's subject, and seems particularly aggressive towards artists. I'd rather not engage the guy directly because he seems to get off on this kind of confrontation.

At the same time, the material I've posted is hardly an "autobiography" and I feel that his labeling it as such (even as he admits there "may not be a problem") is an attempt to discredit the veracity of the article - it amounts to a kind of malicious editorial vandalism.

Can you help me with this? Can you direct me to someone who can? Thank you so much. Peterfoxny (talk) 19:43, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Hayedeh

Dear Friend, please do not add previous wrong information about the Persian singer Hayedeh to the entry. Now all information are based on documents. In the previous version there are also many terms which are not acceptable for wiki style (such as "best", "legendary",etc......) . thanks --Shayan7 (talk) 13:16, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Leaders of the District of Columbia

FYI: I chose that category because the historic title had been "Governor", but the "Mayor" category could be correct or the one that you picked. The District is such a special case, it's practically a category in itself. JRP (talk) 05:25, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Edit of Elite Home Tutoring LLC You Made

I just made the page and saw you made an edit to it. What did you change :) If you added I the "needs more inlinks" I agree. I am very new to Wiki. MathTeacher5252 (talk) 07:06, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Eric

Your Edit for HAYEDEH

Dear Friend, I respect what you have done in the past but regarding Hayedeh you are doing that in a wrong way. You added some wrong information; for example Zoland and Andranik were not Hayedeh's producers in the US, they 'wrote' some songs not 'produced. Also the style of introducing is not Wiki style; it should be neutral; so please leave the article in its current form that all information is checked. Meanwhile Hayedehmusic.com is not her official website. Thanks for your attention.--Shayan7 (talk) 11:58, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of Cryptoportica Article

I Just wondering why you deleted our article. It was neither a hoax or utter nonsense. You are asinine. —Preceding unsignedcomment added by Alex East (talkcontribs) 13:22, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

I have really no idea what I have to with that ! Is that any way tp block that? up to now I have changed that tens of times! thanks for your help.--Shayan7 (talk) 16:32, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

question

dear friend, some times I see entries in wiki that are not very important issues and I think they should be candidate for deletatin; one of them is Lily Mazahery. It seems some people try to promote themselves through Wiki and it's against wiki rules and we have to prevent them. Do you have any idea? thanks.--Shayan7 12:35, 1 March 2009 (UTC) —Precedingunsigned comment added by Shayan7 (talkcontribs)

TfD deletion of Super Bowl lead-out program

Hi, I noticed that you deleted {{Super Bowl lead-out program}}. However, don't you think you should have at least edited the template to a subst so at least the pages had the sequence box before you deleted it? currently, all the tv show pages are missing the info, and I sure don't feel like fixing it. -Zeus-uc 13:39, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Proposed new policy

As a recent contributor to Deaths in 2009, you may be able to help decide on a proposed new policy. It is proposed that:

A month should be deleted from the "Deaths in [CURRENT YEAR]" page ONE WEEK after the month ends.

Please opine at Talk:Deaths_in_2009#Proposed new policy. Don't just say

  • Support.

or

  • Oppose.

Electric bicycle laws

Hello, I'm new to wiki editing but grew frustrated with the state of the article mentioned. That said I'm making changes such as summarizing laws, correcting incorrect interpretations, and adding references or replacing poor references with more trustworthy sources.

The Reason I'm commenting, is because the discussion on the article seems to be dead. I wanted a second opinion on some of the changes and would appreciate any input you could give. Executorvs (talk) 01:36, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Me again. I've been trying to go back and forth between mopeds, motorized bicycles, and Electric bicycle laws. There is a lot of information in them, but there is also a lot of duplication and contradiction of information. As I see it, the articles on mopeds and motorized bicycles should be merged while a separate article on electric bicycles should be put in place.
I am not sure how to rename/merge/move/add redirects to articles. Also, given the very low traffic in the discussion pages, I'm wary of stepping on toes by making large sweeping changes to three articles of :related topic simultaneously.
I also wonder if there is a good way to find help for this kind of undertaking?
Thank you for your patience, I'm trying to find all the wiki tutorials as I write this. Executorvs (talk) 00:30, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

AI finalists - review of articles

Before I suggest things on different pages, here are my thoughts on who might be warranting losing their articles (or gaining articles; names not mentioned should keep their articles for sure):

Season 1

  • A.J. Gil, Christina Christian (protected) and R.J. Helton are currently redirects. No change is recommended, as none of them are currently notable enough IMO.
  • EJay Day - has done virtually nothing post-Idol. I recommend redirecting there as well.

Season 2

  • Rickey Smith is currently a redirect. No change is recommended, as he is currently not notable enough IMO.
  • Julia DeMato - has not done much at all in a long time. Might want to consider a redirect.

Season 3

  • Leah LaBelle (protected) is currently a redirect. No change is recommended, as she is currently not notable enough IMO.
  • Amy Adams - May also need to be reviewed. She has disappeared from the scene the last few years (it doesn't help that another Amy Adams is much more notable and that makes it hard to search for her).

Season 4

  • No changes are recommended, as all of them seem to have done stuff post-Idol to warrant keeping the articles.

Season 5

  • Melissa McGhee - has done NOTHING post-Idol. I recommend the article be redirected.

Season 6

  • Stephanie Edwards - While she has a couple recordings out, overall she has not done much. May want to be reviewed.

Season 7

  • No changes are recommended at this point, as all of them have done enough in the short time to warrant keeping the articles.

Those are just my thoughts. CrazyC83 (talk) 16:30, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I meant a redirect on Melissa. CrazyC83 (talk) 18:05, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Madia Gond and totem poles

This is about the Madia Gond and the Munda, which are like totem poles, Aren't totem poles a characteristic of all Native Americans and not just of Native Americans in the United State? To the best of my knowledge they are. Please considering revert of your edit. Yogesh Khandke (talk) 08:17, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Will you rephrase your remarks to Standard English, I have not been able to follow the sense of the colloquial. All my fault. Yogesh Khandke (talk) 08:23, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Not at all. I should have been a little patient, then I would have understood that the Native Americans now points to Indigenous peoples of the Americas, and you wish to thank me for the suggestion. Coming to the poles the word Munda, means pole in Marathi, my mother tongue, wonder whether it carries the same meaning in the Madia language. Yogesh Khandke (talk) 09:53, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your edits to my first page here, March (surnames). Perhaps you can explain to me your change to Hal March, adding United States. Should this be my general practice? For example, March Fong Eu is a Chinese-American, but I did not show that. Dthomsen8 (talk) 13:59, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Dthomsen8

Ability to view deleted articles

How can I gain the ability to view deleted pages? Is this right reserved for administrators only or is there some form of special privilege that can be applied for without becoming an admin? Valoem talk 15:23, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry did I do something to offend you? Or is there some reason why you responded to everyone around except me? Valoem talk 14:12, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Ah thanks, ill try asking someone else. I just realized that my statement could be interpreted as abrasive which is completely unintentional. Sorry if I sounded that way I was just confused. Also thanks for helping my Archie Karas article. Valoem talk 16:03, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Persistent vandal

IP vandal 64.75.122.140 has been blocked twice, but is still making many unconstructive edits. Can you as an administrator block that IP? Thanks, Jchthys cont. 21:45, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for the disambig assists, my friend. Hope all is well, and take care. MarmadukePercy (talk) 06:51, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

That source doesn't say that Anoop Desai was the fourth best, it just says he got 20,000 fewer than Sarver. For all we know, they might have been second and third. A female singer had to be selected, she could have been fourth, or fifth, or sixth... Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 07:14, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I noticed that you weren't the original editor. I think I'm just going to remove it, since AI doesn't really reveal their voting, just little tidbits about how far behind Desai was, not what position he came in at. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 07:25, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
