NursingHome-stub

I'm sure my attempt to make a stub named NursingHome-stub is missing something. Can someone take a look at it? I know that this resembles the toss/throw the cow over the fence of The Mythical Man-Month, and I suspect that if I look into how I made a new category some time ago I'd find the answer, but just in case someone starts to use it (other than me), it's best to know when to ask for help. There doesn't seem to be an article on 2022 Major League Baseball season yet, but I do see Draft:2022 Major League Baseball season.  Fixed the reference and some typos, and declined the draft because there is still a lot of unreferenced information. GoingBatty (talk) 02:47, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

How do I appeal a rejection?

I recently put up a short bio and identification of a very distinguished archivist (the head of the Italian State Archives) and the curator of a number of important archaeological and historical museum exhibitions. He was rejected out of hand as not being significant by a guy who seems to work on Lego. I wonder if there is any way to appeal this sort of thing? It is true that if I were asked to accept the biography of some important Lego person I might be unimpressed too, but there does seem to be a misfit between the rejector and the subject. • @Elifent: Your draft was declined, not rejected. If it had been "rejected", it would have meant that the reviewer thinks the draft could never become a Wikipedia article, and you might need an appeal of some sort. "Declined" means that the reviewer thinks the draft might still be improved enough to be accepted, so no appeal in necessary, you just need to improve it, and then resubmit it. DO NOT resubmit it until you believe you have properly responded to the reviewer's comments. A draft might be declined several times as long as you are clearly making progress, but it will edn up being rejected if you are not responding to the reviewer's comments. In the current case you need to establish the notability of your subject by supplying reliable sources that satisfy our requirements for notability (WP:N). This is a higher standard than just being reliable (WP:RS). this is easy to mess up: see WP:CSMN. -Arch dude (talk) 16:08, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Error with Interwiki linking

Hello, I have recently been very active on the Ladin language Wikipedia, which is my native language. I have created several new articles and linked them to the equivalent articles in other languages. This usually worked fine, but in some cases when trying to link the articles, I got the error message: "You do not have the permission to carry out this action." and then it said in Italian "this page is protected...." I understand that some pages are protected, but why would I thus not be able to link my page to them? Especially since the pages I create are about very non-controversial topics, such as "glass" or "municipalities in Italy". These are the two pages that I have been unable to link to:
- https://lld.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frazion_(Talia) attempted to link to https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraktion_und_Circoscrizione_(Italien)

@Asenoner: The language links are stored at Wikidata items. Click "Wikidata item" under "Tools" in the left pane to see them. They are semi-protected per wikidata:Wikidata:Protection policy#Highly used items in your examples: frazione (Q1134686) and glass (Q11469). It doesn't matter whether the Wikipedia articles are protected. Wikidata requires an account to be 4 days old and have 50 edits to edit semi-protected pages. You only have 12 Wikidata edits: wikidata:Special:Contributions/Asenoner. You can use wikidata:Template:Edit request on the item talk page. PrimeHunter (talk) 11:32, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Mobile diff conversion tool?

@Bbb23: I'm not sure what you mean by "convert", but when you're on a mobile diff, the "Desktop" link at the bottom of the page leads to a normal diff, no script or tool needed. – Rummskartoffel 16:44, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

@Rummskartoffel: Usually, when I don't want to even look at mobile diffs, they're all around me. Now, when I do want to look at them, I can find only one. Take a look at the first sentence of this thread. When I click on the mobile diff, I don't see a desktop link at the bottom. Is it because it's a link rather than a diff? I'd want to convert those, too, but if you can point me to a mobile diff, I can at least tell you what I see.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:29, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

It's a link to one section expanded; that's why it's not showing the desktop link. You have to hit the back button to get to the page view and navigate to the bottom. Then look for the section yourself after the desktop mode loads (easier to remove the "m." from the url manually). @Usedtobecool: The back button part didn't work, at least not for me. Your e-mail suggestion mostly worked (I'm still talking about the same mobile link on my Talk page). It changed to normal view, but it didn't jump to the section the way the mobile link did. If I had a "real" mobile diff to try, that'd be nice. @Bbb23: Okay, as Usedtobecool says, that's a section link and not a diff – just edit the URL in your address bar. With a mobile diff like this [1], there should be a "Desktop" link at the bottom of the page. – Rummskartoffel 21:09, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Mobile diff pages have a fixed unscrollable part at the bottom which can give the false impression you are at the end of the page. Do you see a Desktop link if you scroll the page to the end? PrimeHunter (talk) 21:41, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Penelope Wilton Page - Nazi symbol

Hello,

I clicked on the actress Penelope Wiltons page from the Downton Abbey Wikipedia page and from the internet. It has been replaced with an all red background and a Nazi symbol in the middle of the page.

Madeline Kahn's wiki

Madeline Kahn's wiki page, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madeline_Kahn, has been replaced with a large picture of a swastika on a red background. I'm assuming it's some sort of hack/prank, just wanted to call attention to it.

Nas (Rapper) mobile page redirects to an image of a Swastika

Hello, I was trying to look up information about Nas, the rapper, on Wiki. When selecting his page on a smartphone or mobile device, Wiki automatically redirects to an image of a Swastika. Can someone help correct this page error?

Ethan Frome film links lead to Nazi flags.

Hi there. I suspect some hate crime inspired editing. Please note several links in the Ethan Frome film page some actor links lead to a swastika. Unpleasant. Could you please investigate? Many thanks.

Nazi page sign on phone

If i search for Travis Barker (Blink-182) on my phone and look for the english version my whole screen gets red with a big Nazi sign. If i search it on my computer i get the normal page. Does anyone knows why?

Your contributions don't show any active or deleted contribution about "climate-ADAPT". It is possible you closed your browser without submitting the changes, or there was some kind of network error. In that case, unless you saved a local copy, your article is lost forever. JIP | Talk 14:52, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Getting around Notability issues

Hi all, I have just created a new article for my football team's current football season (2021-22 Millbrook A.F.C.) but been told that it will be deleted due to notability. They play in the fifth rung of the English national football league system, so they're not exactly a pub side!

Can someone help me get around this issue? I have read that I could potentially add in multiple seasons to the article which might help, but I don't want to spend a few weeks doing that unless it is definitely going to work!

This club plays at a level five divisions below the usual cut-off point for notability (based on WP:NSEASONS). The article should not have been created and is now at AfD. Number 57 16:26, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Floating table of contents

I'm currently trying to tidy up a very messy article, about the "Hutch-Kinahan feud". It had a very VERY long table of contents, which I have now adjusted and limited. Skin

Hi Folks!! I accidently changed my skin. Is there any way to get back to CologneBlue, perhaps via customisation? I'm really used to it, but it it looks as though it is deprecated. scope_creep^Talk 20:41, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

@Scope creep: Go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Preferences?useskin=cologneblue#mw-prefsection-rendering and you should be able to select it, but be aware that it may be removed completely at some point in the future. – Rummskartoffel 21:13, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi @Rummskartoffel: That is it back. I'll switch to Monobook nearer the time, I guess. The rest of the skins are pretty unusable on desktop and even the Sea of Blue on Monobook is a bit off-putting. Walk The Moon & "Can You Handle My Love??" Page Edits

Hello,

I work for Walk The Moon's management team and the band has noticed several errors on their page (Walk the Moon) as well as the page for one of their recent songs, "Can You Handle My Love??" (Can You Handle My Love??). We would love your help correcting these errors.

1. On the main Walk The Moon page - Under the Band Members & Credits and Personnel sections - Nicholas does not play bass.

2. On the "Can You Handle My Love??" page - Sean Waugaman and Eli Maiman should also be listed as writers everywhere Nicholas is. Also, Eli should be given credit for playing bass on the song, not Nicholas.

Wikiproject Nursing Homes, is there a counterpart to Wikiproject Hospitals

I know that the talk page of an article about a hospital is supposed to have a {{wikiproject Hospitals}} entry. Is the counterpart {{Wikiproject NursingHomes}} or {{wikiproject Nursing Homes}}, or, third choice, am I missing something? (I looked at WP:WikiProject Council/Directory and tried the search box. Stopping uncited information

Hello

I am a user who cleans up and helps edit Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. A fellow user is adding destinations that aren't served and doesn't have return dates listed.
