Help restoring truncated discography[edit]

Hello,

regarding this page: [1]

I noticed that someone edited avant-garde jazz musician/recording artist Joe Gallivan's discography down to about 12 recordings.

If you look at the Way Back Machine's last save of this page from 2016, there are 39 recordings.

[2]

I tried to select and paste Joe Gallivan's 2016 discography into his current wikipedia page, but, because I was unable to click into edit mode in the Way Back Machine, I was unable to make the list format correctly.

Maybe I should retype the old list into the current page?

Please let me know.

Vmavanti had trimmed the discography deliberately. I see that that you have now figured out how to revert what they did. (The discography now seems to me excessively long relative to the actual text of the article; and incorrectly italicised. But what do I know.) Maproom (talk) 07:56, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

He is a lier. https://www.celebsagewiki.com/prashant-jha

This is regarding the profile of my neighbor in Patna, Dr Prashant Jha.The personal information you have given on website is not true . I would like to bring your kind notice that he is married from 2007 and he has a 11 year son. He and his family tortured brutally to the girl and her son. He. lives in London and predict that he is unmarried he has a profile on matrimonial sites too .He is not financially supporting his wife and son at all. There is no legal separation till date( not initiated ). His wife's name is Priyanka Jha and son is Neelkanth jha. I am enclosing his wife's FB link also as a proof where you can see their picture — Preceding unsigned comment added by 106.206.195.247 (talk) https://www.facebook.com/itspriyankajha

That website is in no way related to Wikipedia. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 10:12, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia does, however, have an article on Prashant Jha. The photograph there is the same as that on "celebsagewiki.com". Is there a problem with the article Prashant Jha? -- Hoary (talk) 10:41, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Are Translations of Religous Texts Secondary Sources?[edit]

Essentially the title. If I'm going to cite a translation (into English) of a religious text (originally composed in Sanskrit), would it be a secondary or primary source? Aathish S | talk | contribs 10:46, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Aathish S, a religious text is a primary source, whether in the original or in translation. WP:PSTS discusses primary, secondary and tertiary sources and mentions religious scripture in a footnote. TSventon (talk) 11:08, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Aathish S Primary. WP:RSPSCRIPTURE may be of help. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:10, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both for the clarifications! Aathish S | talk | contribs 11:48, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Watch changes to category contents[edit]

How does one watch changes to category contents? I’ve added a few categories to my watchlist, but it only shows changes to the page itself. - Aussie Article Writer (talk) 12:04, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Aussie Article Writer: You have to enable the "Category changes" filter. See Help:Category § Watching category additions and removals. – Rummskartoffel 12:17, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Rummskartoffel: I just fixed a ref error in Agriculture in the United States, but my category changes filter doesn't show any change in Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? - Aussie Article Writer (talk) 12:49, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Aussie Article Writer: Sorry, no idea. All or most of your other edits show up there; I don't see any good reason why that one shouldn't. – Rummskartoffel 13:40, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DYK article has mistitled illustration[edit]

The DYK article Insect flight is illustrated by a diagram (GIF) of 'direct flight' as it occurs in dragonflies. The illustration appears to agree with the description in the article. However, the image is actually titled File:Indirect flight in insects.gif and therefore contradicts the article. I have noted this on the image's discussion page, but have posted here as I have no idea who might be watching the image page.--Verbarson (talk) 14:49, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pinging User:Chiswick Chap and User:Cwmhiraeth as improver and nominator. TSventon (talk) 15:02, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Curious filename. However, the image does indeed show direct flight (the muscles attaching directly to the wings and moving only them), so the text and image as displayed are correct. Clearly the filename needs to be fixed on Commons (and then updated over here) to reflect its content. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:16, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Article deletion[edit]

Hi, The below wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_methods describes in detail about different ways a person can commit suicide. The page is easily accessible, and anyone vulnerable can easily put their life in danger, following any of the suicide options elaborated here. The page must be removed asap for public safety

See WP:NOTCENSORED. The article talk page also has some discussion and links to previous deletion requests. RudolfRed (talk) 16:41, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) On Talk:Suicide methods, the second-from-bottom box at the top of the page lists nine previous efforts to delete the artice, mainly for concerns like yours. You can look at those deletion discussions, along with some of the discussions currently on the talk page, to get a sense of why the article remains on Wikipedia and is unlikely to be removed. add a surname[edit]

Hello I am having trouble trying to add a surname. Do i have to request to or no? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Christopher87292 (talkcontribs)

Welcome to Wikipedia. What are you trying to add, and where? RudolfRed (talk) 17:16, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Christopher87292: I see you are working on some drafts. Moze_(surname) has been approved and is now in main space. Draft:Di Moze has been declined due to lack of sources. Keep working at it. Next time, please link your drafts in your question, and sign with ~~~~, it will be easier to help you. RudolfRed (talk) 19:02, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Im trying to add the surnames "Moze" and "Di Moze" under the category of: italian-language surnames (surnameshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Italian-language_surnames). Im not sure if I have to contact someone to add the surnames or do I do it on my own and if so how do I do it? Christopher87292 (talk) 19:13, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Christopher87292Christopher87292 (talk) 19:13, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Christopher87292: Thanks for explaining. That category is already on the article. My understanding is that we don't put categories on drafts, but the category can be added if the draft is approved. RudolfRed (talk) 20:05, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Christopher87292 (talk) 23:34, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Christopher87292Christopher87292 (talk) 23:34, 7 August 2021 (UTC) Ah ok, gotcha. So until its fully published t can put it there? I also have one last question. My article Moze_(surname) has been accepted. So what is my next step after its been approved in the article for creation?[reply]

How to upload pictures on a topic[edit]

Hi I'm new to Wikipedia and i want to learn how to upload pictures on my topics.so i get the conversation going.i need help or instructions.i don't know how...— Preceding unsigned comment added by Asian gal (talkcontribs)

Asian gal It's easiest if you've taken the images yourself; if you haven't, it's harder due to licensing issues. Please see WP:UPIMAGE for instructions. 331dot (talk) 18:41, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Editing article with prior asking in the Talk section of article[edit]

Hi, I was wondering if I don't receive a response from anybody regarding an edit I want to make, am I authorized to make that change? If so, how long do I need to wait for a response before publishing my changes to the article? Also, can other authors reverse my edit after their period to answer my question expires or they must first obtain approval in the talk section to reverse my edit? Sincerely, LukeA1 (talk) 21:59, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@LukeA1: I assume this is about Talk:Adolf Hitler. If no one responds to the discussion, it is implied to have consensus per WP:SILENT. It is the weakest form of consensus, though, so if someone comes and makes a reversion, you should start a discussion with them on the talk page. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 22:09, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Tenryuu: Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, this was regarding Talk:Adolf Hitler. Do you maybe know how long do I need to wait to apply the WP:SILENT rule? If there isn't a fixed time period, would 48 hours suffice for an article where there are plenty contributors? LukeA1 (talk) 22:23, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@LukeA1: if you want a response regarding an edit, you should explain clearly what you want to do and why, ideally with a citation. There is no fixed period of time for WP:SILENT, but you may get more attention on a weekday than on a weekend. If another editor disagrees with your edit they can revert it, see Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle. TSventon (talk) 02:16, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Page not showing up on Google[edit]

Hi,

The page here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yonov_Frederick_Agah does not show up on google searches. When it was first created, it showed up as the first result on google, however, now it does not - what could be the issue? Thank you, Terfreagah (talk) 23:42, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Terfreagah: You have asked this question at the Teahouse already. Please wait for more answers there. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 00:47, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
