Number of revisions[edit]

Is there any way to track generally the number of revisions that an article has had? (Or perhaps I could request a feature...) --Susurrus 05:33, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is an external tool that includes this information. The Article Contribution Counter (available from the "editors" link if you are using popups) shows, for example, "The page France has 4877 edits by 884 registered users."; although the data is subject to the toolserver lag, currently reported as 9 days 15 hours 44 minutes 15 seconds. Least revisions?[edit]

Will there ever be a page Special:Leastrevisions? These would probably be the most unreliable because few editors have been involved in checking the article for accuracy, notability etc. Better still would be to find the pages who had the lowest number of editors. Andreas  (T) 01:13, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that list would start with ~1 million articles with one edit. I'm not sure how that would be helpful.. Something that would be interesting is if Wikipedia implemented more specific lists of most edited articles. See here. The current mostrevisions cache is from the dump I linked here (November 30th), and as you can see, two of the dumps failed, causing there to be no data for the mostrevisions page to display. This is just an assumption, but I'm fairly sure this is why the page won't work. The page only uses that one cache until it updates successfully, so mostrevisions won't display anything until the cache next updates. Agentscott00(talk) 00:58, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Significance of Articles on list[edit]

I don't think it's a stretch to say that this list represents the articles that are most significant to Wiki users. Given that, I'm surprised that George W. Bush Tops the list, and not Wikipedia. I'm sure though, that 5 years from now, when George W is rarely newsworthy, Wikipedia, which will always be relevant to the users here, will take the top spot, and probably stay there, permanently.
