Armstrong Group of Companies and Armstrong Utilities Inc Wikipedia Pages

Hello.

I currently work for Armstrong Utilities which is part of Armstrong Group of Companies. Yesterday I made changes on both our pages and today they were erased. We own many companies (development, food, electronics etc) and prefer to keep the page separate from our service provider page (internet, cable etc).

The content from our Armstrong Group of Companies page has now been switched onto the Armstrong Utilities page and the original content that I needed to edit has been placed back onto our Armstrong Group of Companies page.

These two pages would be best to stand alone on Wikipedia, even though some of the information is the same, because they are representing two different parts of our company.

I'm not asking you to comment on the merits of that particular article -- but is there a recognized endemic problem with "covert advertising," in your country's major papers, that you're aware of? Narendra Modi page can be replaced with Chaiwala?

I just want to clarify, Narendra Modi is also mentioned in the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaiwala, will you mark https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narendra_Modi for Deletion? You must know there is different between profession and person. CSD declined

Hi GSS. I wanted to let you know that I declined your CSD nomination for Arshad Khan (Chai Wala). I assume you can't see the article as it was when it was deleted at the previous AfD, but the article today looks fundamentally different to my eyes. It also contains many new citations, many of which seem to be from reputable sources and appear to confer notability. @Basalisk: You are right I'm unable to see the deleted article but I clearly remember the contents which are almost same as this newly created version e.g. Viral photo, signing possible non-notable film which falls under WP:NFF, signed a modeling contract with a non-notable modeling agency and all this issues has been already discussed at AfD Arshad Khan (model) (2nd nomination) and the result was delete and redirect. I will definitely take it to AfD back again as I still believe it's WP:TOOSOON for a stand alone article becasue the subject clearly fails to pass WP:ENTERTAINER and WP:NACTOR. @Akshayzine13: As per my knowledge and research the subject fails to pass our general notability guidlines which says If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list but my search failed to find any also there is no evidence to support his career as actor or musician please read WP:NACTOR and WP:MUSICBIO. Hello, Likerzz. An article is called an "orphan" if there are no other Wikipedia articles that link to it. Looking at your article, which I assume is Pannesingh Nagar, click on the link "Find link tool" or "What links here" under "Tools" on the left-hand side. This will give you a list of all the other articles which are linked to this article. In this case, there are no articles; just User pages, project pages and a redirect. In order to eliminate the Orphan tag, first fix that problem: what other articles should properly link to this one? Edit them to incorporate that link. @Chin2to: You can create the article in your user space User:Chin2to/Mohit Malhotra, where it is in your user space, and only you would work on it, or you can use our draft sapce Draft:Mohit Malhotra, where it is in draft space, and theoretically others could too. However, you can't move it back to article space until someone has reviewed it and agreed that the article can be added. Please consider this carefully: before you spend very much time working on it, please make sure you honestly believe it can eventually be made to meet the requirements of WP:BIO, our inclusion criteria for biographies. I have tried to add to the online resources I can find; in this case Abhivyakti and Parade. Not sure why Sulekha is not credible. Can you please help by pointing out which resources of the ones I added will not be considered "credible" and why? But I am sure that it fulfills every criteria of notability for a song to have an article. I has lots of significant sources and coverages. And also as an Indian I know its notable enough. @Jiami: I just saw the article and I am not sure if it meets our standard for notability but if you feel that the topic is notable enough and you want to spend more time developing it, I suggest you go through the article for creation process which allows you time to work on the article and also gives people with more experience a chance to comment on what else might be needed to make a valid article so if this sounds good to you, you can ask me or make a request at WP:RQM to move your article to draft space without leaving a redirect behind. Now then, if you are certain the song is notable, and you live in a place where you are able to "sense" its notability, then what is needed in order to retain a standalone article is evidence of this song's notability— not merely discussion of the song in the course of an article about the artist or the album but discussion of the song itself, and such evidence needs to come from what appear to be reliable independent sources. My decision to redirect may have been preemptive: the word "tune" needs to be removed from the article namesapce regardless. (and thank you to User: GSS-1987 for pinging me). User:KDS4444 Thanks for your opinion. The word "tune" doesn't mean here the english word "tune". Its a Hindi language word meaning "you". And as the title of the articles were with the word "emptiness" and the album name is also emptiness, so you might have thought that the news coverage was about the album. But actually the song itself is known as emptiness being the title song of the album and the articles were about the song, not the album. @KDS4444: If I do that name change, I would probably deprive many people who would search in name of Emptiness . The song is titled as "Tune Mere Jaana (Emptiness)" also because it has two parts in itself, one on Hindi and one on English. Also many newspapers coverages, which I found on search, used the name emptiness for the song. So, if I use only Tune Mere Jaana as name, when I shall give some reference using "Empiness" as the name of the news article, some of users will think that those are coverages of the album, not the song itself as they woudn't know at first site that the song contains both the names together just like you were confused. He has been featured in National Medias, Televisions & Nominated for Awards. He had done tour and concerts and that’s enough to be notable for musician according to WP:MUSICBIO & Shovit Basnet is a director who has directed Dozens of Nepali Movies and He is also actor of Nepali Film Industry. So the both pages meets to be on Wikipedia and i have given reliable sources of National newspapers there. But also you tag for speedy deletion. I've added 11 citations to the article. 10 are from very well know Indian news agencies. How do you say that the subject lacks significant independent coverage? His name & work are clearly mentioned in each one of them. Infact,he's the main(& only) subject in all of them.

In such cases, it is usually better to merge the information and redirect the person's name to the event article. Issues with a page

Hi GSS-1987

A misunderstanding has happened between me and another user as we have created two pages about the same subject. This two pages have been subjected to interventions of some admins and the result is that, i think, you have devinitively redirected one page to the other. This could be good but the result is in a page poor in content as of the different cuts of the admins.

Do you think that i could update the surviving page with relevant content respecting the wikipedia guidelines and the relevance of the subject?

Here are the stats 121 Links on Google Scholar for "Mastering Metasploit" book authored by the subject and on searching the subject you will see that resarch papers from IEEE and ResearchGate as on following Citations. Moreover, searching on Google Books with the subject name returns 5990 results. Bhaji, my question is say one is an author, are these number of links, citations in research organisations, scholar etc are good enough to establish notability? also, i have searched amazon.in the current rank of subject's books in computer security best sellers are 63 and 73 and bhaji i am a punjabi from jalandhar region and work in computer and cyber security my only interest connecting to you this way is that you are a punjabi and subject under review is also a punjabi. Moreover, I found this page while searching for the his latest book so i made a search on his name at google the very second link was from wikipedia and the first one was Linkedin. But as soon as i saw the page there was a message saying that the page is being considered for deletion. I don't know how much you know about digging into internet the way cyber security researchers do, we call it OSINT. I started exploring and found your world class profile. Being a punjabi and doing such an amazing work, i wanted to learn from you. Even i opened your page several times. Looking at your profile as an inspiration, i dwelled more into editing articles since i can find information with supreme ease and started editing articles, i have also provided references to some of the articles which were missing proper references. But since it all started on the day when i made a search and potentially due to which i joined here, i thought it would be good if i can find few references for him. You have gigs of experience here, you definitely know much better if he deserves a page or not. Also, answering your question, if i know him personally? No! I have once been an audience to his talk in Bangalore and that was it but never got a chance to meet him personally.   • On 14 September 2017 the English Wikipedia began the autoconfirmed article creation trial. For a six month period, creation of articles in the mainspace of the English Wikipedia will be restricted to users with autoconfirmed status. New users who attempt article creation will now be redirected to a newly designed landing page.
  • Before clicking on a reference or external link while reviewing a page, please be careful that the site looks trustworthy. If you have a question about the safety of clicking on a link, it is better not to click on it.

What makes you place notability tags on the articles of Febi Mani and Ganga Sitharasu? Why? This is all being developed for the ongoing Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/The World Contest. The reason why there is a big disparity in female articles is purely because they are under reported in the media - and in turn, the problem multiplies when you nitpick on Wikipedia claiming that the provided sources are not adequate (when they actually are)! Febi Mani's page links to the three leading entertainment news portals of Kollywood (Sify, Behindwoods, Indiaglitz) as well as the Hindustan Times! Meanwhile, Ganga's page has a link to Rediff, as well as two complete profile descriptions of her career. What else do you realistically want for a playback singer? The front page on the FT? @Editor 2050: I applied the notability tag on both articles because there is no significant coverage in reliable sources to satisfy general notability guideline and I also believe it does not fulfill our notability requirements for musician. The articles must have sufficient references in reliable secondary sources which are independent of the subject. Kollywoodsingers.com, netv4u.com, behindwoods.com, ajithfans.com etc are not reliable sources. I also notice you always add bare URLs as references. This is not the preferred method to be used with citations because such a method of referencing is prone to link rot. I would advise that you instead take care to use citation templates instead such as {{cite web}} and {{cite news}}. It really saves time, and it allows for more consistent formatting. ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, GSS-1987. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

ANI Experiences survey

The Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (led by the Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) is conducting a survey for en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.

New Year New Page Review Drive

  • A backlog drive is planned for the start of the year, beginning on January 1st and running until the end of the month. Unique prizes will be given in tiers for both the total number of reviews made, as well as the longest 'streak' maintained.
  • Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed. However, the majority of the backlog still dates back to before ACTRIAL started, so consider reviewing articles from the middle or back of the backlog.
