Thanks again for your efforts! Go Phightins! 20:36, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks heaps, what a nice surprise! Pretty random though, how did you even find me? There are so many great editors to choose from.
I see these go up on the responses page, so while I have a sandbox, check out the policy section on my userpage re my thoughts on what we need to do to make Wikipedia a friendlier place. And thanks for doing your bit to encourage us old hands. ··gracefool 13:55, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Completely random - something about you caught my eye. A little research confirmed your demeanor. Thanks for your continuing efforts. ```Buster Seven Talk 15:43, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Welcome (no contrib) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page's talk page, where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Meteor_sandwich_yum (talk) 23:11, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks. Actually {{Welcome0}} is a duplicate of {{Welcome (no contrib)}} which is is 3 years older, but all good. ··gracefool 09:12, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It's a nice template, they kind of stole your idea. Meteor_sandwich_yum (talk) 22:38, 21 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:WikiProject Pokémon, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Pokémon and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:WikiProject Pokémon during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Shuasa (talk) 10:33, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely not something I substantially contributed to... anyway I see it's been speedy kept. ··gracefool 23:53, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

TemplateScript[edit]

Hello Gracefool. While updating TemplateScript in your common.js page, I noticed the templates you set up didn't seem to be working and fixed those for you. If you have trouble with any of my scripts, let me know and I'll help out. :) —Pathoschild 22:24, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Obviously I hadn't noticed... it looks like it could be very useful, is there a user guide somewhere? I can't remember how I found it. ··gracefool 20:27, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There was no user guide, so I wrote one and added it to m:TemplateScript for you. Let me know if you have any ideas to improve it. :) —Pathoschild 01:19, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

Decompression sickness[edit]

Two things:

  1. Section links in most browsers are case-sensitive, so if you want to link to Decompression practice #Decompression tables, then making a link to Decompression practice #decompression tables does not "link it to the right place". Try clicking them to see.
  2. There is a existing redirect which already points Dive tables to Decompression practice #Decompression tables. Wikipedia prefers redirects to piped links for multiple reasons, not least of which is keeping the wikitext readable; MOS:REDIR explains other reasons.

I've reverted your latest, incorrect edit. --RexxS (talk) 17:13, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. The MOS has changed, it used to recommend not linking to redirects. That's what happens when I don't read it in 12 years :p ··gracefool 💬 23:06, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Editor of the Week : nominations needed![edit]

The Editor of the Week initiative has been recognizing editors since 2013 for their hard work and dedication. Editing Wikipedia can be disheartening and tedious at times; the weekly Editor of the Week award lets its recipients know that their positive behaviour and collaborative spirit is appreciated. The response from the honorees has been enthusiastic and thankful.

The list of nominees is running short, and so new nominations are needed for consideration. Have you come across someone in your editing circle who deserves a pat on the back for improving article prose regularly, making it easier to understand? Or perhaps someone has stepped in to mediate a contentious dispute, and did an excellent job. Do you know someone who hasn't received many accolades and is deserving of greater renown? Is there an editor who does lots of little tasks well, such as cleaning up citations?

Please help us thank editors who display sustained patterns of excellence, working tirelessly in the background out of the spotlight, by submitting your nomination for Editor of the Week today!

I found you listed at Category:User js-1 (probably because you posted the corresponding userbox on your user page), and thought you might be interested in improving your skills by getting involved with developing user scripts, hobnobbing with other JavaScript programmers, and organizing and improving JavaScript articles and support pages.

We do all of that and more at the JavaScript WikiProject.

Scripts undergoing development, and the state of JavaScript on Wikipedia, are discussed on the talk page.

For an overview of JavaScript coverage on Wikipedia, see Draft:Outline of JavaScript and Index of JavaScript-related articles. For everything on user scripts, see User:The Transhumanist/Outline of scripts.

The WikiProject also organizes every resource it can find about JavaScript out there, such as articles, books, tutorials, etc. See our growing Reference library.

Notice

The article Crystal View has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

With other mentions deleted, this is no longer a disambig; neither is it a candidate to be a redirect.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Water fab. Since you had some involvement with the Water fab redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. 99Electrons (talk) 23:58, 7 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I forget why I created it (it was before the common usage of categorized redirects), probably for misspelling, so I don't mind it being deleted. ··gracefool 💬 03:57, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2019 election voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:03, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks![edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Notice

The article Prime Material Plane has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence this fictional location passes WP:GNG or WP:NFICTION

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
