Does this seem a right edit to you (please see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jos%C3%A9_Bosingwa&diff=980509286&oldid=978747445)? Second time i had to revert it. Unencyclopedical as it comes (could be a goof or a practical joke on his teammates, could be unintentional), seems to have no place here; if it does have, just say the word and i'll stop with my actions.

Map edits

I noticed you'd been editing maps like 2019–20 National League#National League South adding in extra text, that had been carefully omitted to make the maps more readable. Now they are less readable, and there's all sorts of overlapping text. I'm wondering what the objective is, and if you'll be cleaning the text up to make it readable again? I was changing club names across certain articles that for whatever reason were incorrectly displayed. Regarding the map, they are indeed less readable, although using incomplete club names isn't exactly ideal either. Mattythewhite (talk) 21:44, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
How is using the incomplete club name not ideal on the map, when there's no ambiguity? Surely using only part of the name is better than making the map completely unreadable. It's not preferable to use the '(s)' when the footnote refers *only* to multiple appearances or a single appearance; 'Appearances' or 'Appearance' would be more accurate.

Don't worry about that, look how long it's taken me to get back to you! You're right that they don't tend to be sourced, not least because there isn't an obvious place to put a citation. Hi Matty, the project continues, and I'm now down to the last half-dozen or so second tier play-off articles to go. All the others are now either GA or FA. Next up I have 1996 and 1994 to do, and since Soccerbase records seem to start with the 1996/97 season, I come here, cap in hand, begging for the top scorers for each team in each of those playoffs, say the top two or three in each? I just saw you removed a blank line before the stub tag at Denzel_Dumfries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Stub_sorting#General_rules suggests two lines: "Two blank lines should be left between the first stub tag and whatever precedes it." Honours subsections

Because they're redundant. The MoS also encourages us to include achievements (i.e. not honours) like performances and records, so I'm not sure how much stock I'd place in it. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:15, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

Removal of description from page

Hello, Mr. Matty. I deleted the description from the page Hakim Ziyech because I thought that the description provided from Wikidata was enough to define it. Now, I changed the description from association football player to Moroccan footballer, because the players are commonly nowadays referred as footballers. Hi Mattythewhite, this is not serious, this is exactly what you had to remove, you could just add a source. Young children also know this, namely that Bergkamp won the 1998 FA Cup because he was Arsenal's most important player for the 1997-98 season in all competitions, including the FA Cup! He has 7 appearances (and 3 goals) from all 9 games for Arsenal in this tournament. He misses the final because he has a red card for the match with West Ham. Even now I saw that it is described in his wikipedia page :))) it also says that he won 4 FA Cup, but you removed exactly the one in 1998, where he had the most participations, compared with the other 3 FA Cup: 2002 FA Cup - 6 app. 3 goals, 2003 FA Cup - 4 app. 2 goals, 2005 FA Cup - 4 app. So add again the 1998 FA Cup to his honors! Btw he is 1.88m tall, you can also add in the individual awards that during the Premier League season 1998-99 he was a top assist provider in the Premier League with 13 assists.

Hi, I did include a citation: Critchley, Mark (17 February 2017). "Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke denied entry to the United States". The Independent. Retrieved 7 December 2020. In this article there is an example of the misreporting (from Sky) and also a statement that it was not because of the Trump Ban bue due to the Obama administration 2016 law. There are more citations I could include, for example "Yorke's incident was unrelated to U.S. President Donald Trump's recent executive order temporarily barring citizens from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen from entering the country." from https://www.espn.co.uk/football/manchester-united/story/3063000/dwight-yorke-denied-travel-through-us-because-of-iranian-stamp-on-passport. The original page referenced an article in the Telegraph. If the Telegraph is a reliable source then surely so is the Independent? Hi. Why did you revert my edit on Ferdi Kadioglu, saying he isn't Turkish while his last name means something significant in Turkish? He has both Turkish and Dutch citizenships like many other players like İlkay Gündoğan, Mesut Özil who have both German and Turkish citizenships. Also there are turkish pronunciations and spellings of their names on the articles. According to the Turkish Football Federation, he isn't considered a foreign footballer. Today was the final day of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, a golf tournament on the European Tour. I edited the following pages - Paul Casey and the 2021 European Tour just before Paul Casey hit his final putt to win the tournament ( So basically I updated the above pages maybe 2 mins before the outcome). But I only edited in the information when it was mathematically impossible for any other outcome to occur. And as you can see, my edits did not need any rectification later since they were the correct edits (they were bound to be correct since I only edited the info once the result was beyond any reasonable doubt). But wjemather accused me of violating the Wikipedia policies—Verifiability, No original research and What Wikipedia is not (a crystal ball) simply because I edited in the information before the final putt rolled in. I find it incredulous that someone would nitpick about me updating the relevant pages with the correct information just because it happens to be a couple minutes prior. Am I in any violation? I really need your expert opinion on this one, because this has been going on for too long... Article: Capucho. I tried to phrase it to the best of my abilities because i think it's a fact worth pointing when Celtic or Rangers do not win anything in Scotland, they are the only two teams that have won anything in what? 20 years? I do not think it's POV, and please believe me, not trying to belittle Rangers or anything, not a Celtic fan, not a fan of any team for that matter.

Joshua King

Hi Matty. Just saying there is no way Joshua King is 180cm tall he is much taller than that. If you see clips that he played for Everton he’s about 6 ft 2. His original Bournemouth profile had listed him as 189cm tall but it was removed once he left for Everton. I think his profile in PL official site is incorrect. They had Calvert-Lewin listed as 176cm tall not so long ago and since they have updated the stats. So they have the same problem with King’s profile. Thanks. It might well be that he is taller than what the Premier League list, my thinking was that the Premier League website, in theory, should be a better quality source for player heights. The profiles on Everton's website don't list heights which isn't helpful. Hello, I recently saw that you reverted one of my recent edits on David Moyes for vandalism and I think a mistake was made. What happened was I saw an IP add an unsourced nickname for David Moyes. Then, I found a source for it and published it. Then, for some reason, you immediately reverted it with the reason of vandalism being given without any explanation. Maradona ancestry

Hi, I noticed you have accepted a version on Maradona claiming the man was of Italian ancestry contradicting literally every single reliable source from his home country, namely Argentina. I don't know why I cannot edit this article directly and it seems to require approval but I would appreciate if you restored the correct version which has reliable (Argentine) sources on his family genealogy and thus ancestry. This is a question of universal consensus and not even a matter of debate in Argentina. For many years there have been editors periodically pushing the view that Maradona was Italian (for reasons which are beyond me) and this issue seems to reappear periodically so it would be great if we remained aware of such blatant errors on the English language version of Wiki. It's a BBC article confirming Manchester City won the FA Cup. How more reliable can you get. "The ref doesn't even mention his name" - since when does an match report list the entire playing squad of the team throughout the tournament. Seems to me an open-and-shut case of trying to enhance a player's bio, with wording like "remarkable", a "3-1 rout" (what the hell? Really?!), etc, etc. The international career "improvements" ended with ten lines full of matches where Mr. Oliveira DID NOT PLAY (!); for daring to revert this nonsense i was myself reverted, then warned in my talkpage. What's your intake on this (please note: i am now trying to salvage something from their "additions" - i.e. another one, they stated player was loaned to Paços Ferreira then bought outright by that club and later re-purchased by Porto. How many refs did the IP add to back that up? ZERO! I had to take care of that)? I think my last version was more accurate and concise, and if you happen to agree with me please revert back to that version. In the meantime, i am trying to show some respect to the IP and keep some of their sourced info, with the due adjustments.

You are wrong. The citation rule you are referring to is:"citation needed "for any material challenged or likely to be challenged, and for all quotations, anywhere in article space." No one is challenging the facts, or likely to since they're clear public record. I, and 70K other people, sat in the stands and watched those two games. You're being pendantic and incorrectly using the citation rule for unknown reasons. As for why NOT cite the link - the SAME EXACT FACTS appear elsewhere in THIS article uncited. I simply updated the intro to current day instead of ignoring the last 3 years of Nagby's career, details of which appear uncited lower in the article. If you'd like I can chew through the Nagby article and point out the several hundred facts that are also uncited. Birth date? Place of Birth? Height? Hello. If you're sure that the correct spelling is Ngotty – I'm not suggesting you're wrong: I don't know – you might want to consider using a better source. Many apparently reliable sources: the LFP, UEFA, the Premier League, ENFA... use the apostrophe, and many others are inconsistent. Hello. Last season, when the Nat North was abandoned with a few games left, we both added notes to the opponents left unplayed. It's interesting. Our 2019–20 Northern Premier League article and similar include league table, results grids, top scorers for those null-and-voided seasons. The NPL website and Isthmian League wbsite retain their archive of results, top scorers etc for that season. The Southern League has full stats club by club, e.g. Nuneaton's results and apps/goals.
Currently at least, the National League website still has full details for this season. And Soccerway hasn't yet expunged them. Which pushes me towards leaving them all in, results, apps, goals, with notes where appropriate. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 17:39, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi Matty. This is a trivial issue. I'm just bringing it your attention because of the relatively large diff here: if we want consecutive cells in tables bolded, "!!" should be used not "||". H:TABLE states: Consecutive table header cells may be added on same line separated by double marks (!!); or start on new lines, each with its own single mark (!). Also, all examples of bolded cells are written with "!!".
