History should be restored on Social Security page

After the vandalism, the restored version cut out the history, unless of course you want to break that out too into another article. John wesley 18:51, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A strage behaviour of the Popups utility, I suppose. I did go back in the diff history to make sure I'm reverting a whole batch of vandalism but the bogon radiation probably messed up something anyway. --Misza13 (Talk) 19:27, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What's up with those userboxes?

{{helpme}}

I don't know if anyone will ever come here, but anyway... I'm recently confused and frustrated by all the mess with userboxes. Having logged today I have noticed a userbox on my page (namely {{User no evil boxes}}) changed into a red link. No TfD tag, no discussion, nothing. Apparently it was speedied and I don't even know how to check who did it and who's to blame. While trying to recreate it from scratch I also noticed that {{user freedom}} was also removed. Also, many boxes from Wikipedia:Userboxes/Userboxes#Userbox Opinions and Politics have vanished as well (red links as proof of backlink-careless deletion). I mean, okay after a proper discussion and reached consensus they can be deleted, but those userbox-hating-authoritary-admins make me want to leave this community. What I have even noticed is that in some cases userboxes were deleted despite consensus saying otherwise. Now I know that Wikipedia is not a democracy, but some admins apparently understand it as Wikipedia is adminocracy ruled by Jimbo the King. They seem to freely base their decisions on "Jimbo stated that..." or on various policies (whichever suits them better). Actually the policies are also confusing - at time I remember there were at least 3 different places where userbox policy was extensively discussed - and how is one to catch up with it and defend his point? And all the while the boxes keep dying one after another... Okay, enough with this rant - I don't think anyone cares anyway, but if some experienced and well informed on this matter user could help me in my frustration, I'd be grateful. Misza13 (Talk) 12:25, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can check the deletion log ([1]). Just go to Special:Log and select delete. Then search. There is guy going around substituing deleted userboxes onto peoples userpages, so maybe yours will get fixed up that way. And if you do recreate it, keep in mind that you can only do so in your userspace, not in the template namespace.--Commander Keane 12:51, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yep - let's move all userboxes to some userspace (or project space), and then let the deletionist fume to their heart extent.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 18:28, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I'm an inclusionist, but thanks for asking. Also, we've been advocating the substing and movement of these things to user space for quite some time now, not that anyone's been listening. Mackensen (talk) 18:24, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we're listening now. Your disruption has made your point, hey, wait, isn't that against guidelines? Hmm, let's see, yep, right here at WP:POINT. So why don't you undelete them, put messages on the templates to show that they need to be subseted in X hours and give people a chance to do so? The Ungovernable Force 05:56, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. [2]Guanaco 19:37, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

insurgent box.

{{User:Mike McGregor/insurgent}} I backed it up when I made it.

Thanks

Thanks for signing my manifesto and taking an active role in combating the speedy deletion of userboxes. Also, I like your userbox, but it took me a long time to get my userpage looking spiffy and formatted well, so I don't want to add more userboxes. The Ungovernable Force 08:18, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rfc

Misza, I've started an Rfc regarding this weekend. If there's anything you can add, please do so. --D-Day Somebody talk to me. Please somebody! Anybody! 23:22, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for notifying. I was recently thinking about doing it myself. I promise I'll try to find some time to improve the quality of the RfC (as I see Kelly Martin is already questioning it). Oh, and spread the gospel that userboxes are not harmful to the Wiki community! Misza13 (Talk) 23:33, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It will be done. Thanks! --D-Day Somebody talk to me. Please somebody! Anybody! 23:40, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comment on DRV/Userboxes

I was just trying to prevent the place from getting absolutely swamped. But I guess that's going to happen anyway. --Cyde Weys 23:45, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

deleted templates

I'm sorry to have forgotton the <noinclude> tags on these userboxes. However users could easily have removed the templates from their userpages to avoid the mistake: that is, if any users were actually using these userboxes (which they weren't at the time of deletion, at least according to "What links here"). To accuse me of vandalism is a serious breach of WP:AGF. Physchim62 (talk) 22:12, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so no vandalism then. I change the accusation to incompetence and irresponsibility. I am mostly annoyed by this because it is not the first such case when an admin is so hasty in {{deletedpage}}'ing and protecting the 'boxen that they simply don't care. Anyway, thanks for not ingoring me at all like others do. Misza13 (Talk) 22:21, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Howard Bloom

Why did you revert my edits? They were entirely intra-wikipedia links and cleanup efforts. 130.253.5.179 17:56, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was on an RC partol scanning for massive page blankings. When I saw this edit I decided that this is such a case. Please register and start using edit summaries - this way your edits won't be suspicious to others. Misza13 (Talk) 18:04, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
oh I just rearranged the page. the two or three paragraphs text I deleted were reincorporated earlier in the article. i'm sorry for th confusion. 130.253.5.179 18:06, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

Hey fattie nerd. Get off your fat ass and find something productive to do, rather than reverting edits in what is a very inaccurate piece of shit encylcopedia anyway.

By the way, nice going in WW2. Getting invaded by the Germans and that....you were shit. 172.216.94.217 18:15, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you don't like Wikipedia, you don't have to edit it. Nobody forces you (I hope!) to do it. As of BTW, I wonder where you come from, IP coward? Misza13 (Talk) 18:24, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The last thing I need is a bunch of sweaty WoW fans appearing on my doorstep. By all means search all of Swindon if you must! 172.216.94.217 18:28, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the Reversions

Thank you for reverting the vandalism of my user page in such a timely fashion, twice. Hu 19:02, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. I have non-self edits to users' pages highlighted in Vandal Fighter and am happy to revert such vandalism as well. Misza13 (Talk) 19:06, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PokeRealm

Hello, are you an admin? If so, can you delete the PokeRealm entry and protect it?

M@thwiz2020 said he would if it was re-posted. O 0 19:25, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not an admin - I'm just using a JavaScript code that emulates the admin "rollback" action. Are you sure this article doesn't even qualify for cleanup? Misza13 (Talk) 19:29, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ani maldjian

Hello! I see you have {{copyvio}}'ed Ani maldjian. I'd like you to know that I have also found the article on http://www.armeniapedia.org/index.php?title=Ani_Maldjian, so perhaps this is not a copyvio but a candidate for cleanup? Misza13 (Talk) 20:03, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I did. But that page is a direct mirror of wikipedia and it is a copyvio as well. ---J.Smith 20:13, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you much! :)

I really appreciate you noticing my work. My name is Mike, hope to talk to you again in the future! :)Judgesurreal777 21:55, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My name is Michael as well (just in Polish). :-) Again, good work on Pyromania. I had it watched for almost a month by now and I still hardly believe the progress (the amount of work to be done before cleanup was just beyond my comprehension). The history of your edits to the article (step by step) is also a good lesson in performing a cleanup. Thanks! BTW, I really like your user page: I would also like to have such clean and tidy one but I just can't resist to putting every junk I find around in there. ;-) See ya! Archive

Thanks for archiving my talk page! I'd have done it myself, but there's this thing called school I gotta work on, so this was kind of put on the backburner. Thanks again though! --D-Day My fan mail. Click to view my evil userboxes 20:24, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. After all, what are friends for, right? --Misza13 (Talk) 20:29, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
