Hello.

Hi Ben. First of all, let me tell you that I am a fan of your great work. And because I know you are very good, I would like to ask you for help on this item. I failed the nomination for FL with a List for 1999 Latin number one albums, but I want to submit it again for review. Could you take look at it and give me your opinion about my lists?.

The lists are List of number-one Billboard Top Latin Albums of 1999, List of number-one Billboard Top Latin Albums of 2000 and List of number-one Billboard Top Latin Albums of 2001.

Thank you so much, Jaespinoza (talk) 20:30, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Do you think the article is ready for a GA review? I am a bit concerned about the grammar. Could you give me your opinion? Thanks.Tintor2 (talk) 14:21, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I had bad times with the prose, now I my English classes are more than valuable. Yes, I used those articles as guide to clean up Kyo, but there is not too much story in those games so I couldnt divide it in subsections. In appearances in other media I left all the non-canonical stuff but I guess the article needs some prose clean-up. Also, a short question, are you planning to make a feature topic of Naruto characters (4 GA, 1 in GAR and 1 FL)? See you.--Tintor2 (talk) 15:26, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

WikiBreak

Hey Seph BCR, I just wanted to let you know that I am not going to be extremely active this month, a bunch of real life hassles combined with classes starting soon has taken away most of my time. Sorry, but I won't be able to help contribute to our collaboration until late August. Hope all is well. Cheers, « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 01:13, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Admin Coaching?

Hi. I noticed you had an opening for admin coaching. I might be interested in participating. Could you please tell me a little about how you coach your students? Thanks! SunDragon34 (talk) 02:04, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Gray Ark VS. Viz Media

I'm sorry to bother you, but I would like to notify you that a decision between using the Gray Ark fanbook spelling and the Viz Media translation for the characters of D.Gray-man will be going on at Talk:List of Black Order members and your opinion will be appreciated. FMA Light Novel list

As someone well versed in anime/manga articles, particularly our lists, would you considering weighing in on the argument at Talk:List of Fullmetal Alchemist light novels#Merge regarding Westrim's suggestion that the recently created light novel list be merged with the chapter list as he feels the light novels are not notable enough to have their own list. I created the list due to a comment he made reminding me of the need for a split during the heated tracklist discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Anime and manga#Fullmetal Alchemist and tracklists in main articles. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 15:08, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Kenpachi

I noticed a merge tag placed on Kenpachi Zaraki's article with the discussion leading to a topic where you clearly said he was one to be kept. I temporarily removed the tag and if you feel like this has changed, let me know and I will do a self revert. Thanks. Sasuke9031 (talk) 19:46, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

As an update, another editor has reopened merge discussions on several Bleach characters. They are being pretty non-neutral about it, and seem to be acting a little pointed because of a merge discussion in some Tekken articles that didn't go their way. Still, despite their bad attitude, the discussions seemed valid, so they are on going at Talk:List of Bleach characters#Suggested character merges, with some initial pre-discussion in the section before it (and most of the other editors name calling). -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 23:17, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Possible FT

Hi, Sephiroth BCR!! It's nice to have someone like you interested in Academy Awards-related articles. A featured topic would be great indeed. I suggest naming it Foreign language films at the Academy Awards. The topic would thus be broader, which will enable us to include the List of Academy Award-winning foreign language films as well as the List of actors nominated for Academy Awards for foreign language performances. If we were to do this, then I suggest we also rename the corresponding category and template to make them equally broader.

Regarding the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film article, I think it's close to attaining GA status. There are only a couple of things that need to be fixed (formatting the references, talking about the Franco-Italian "domination" in the 1960s-70s and how it has almost disappeared nowadays...). I'll work on the article till the end of the week and will tell you when I'm done with it. As for splitting the country list in the winners and nominees list into its own list, I'm not sure whether it's really necessary. Personally, I wouldn't mind such a move. However, do you really think a page consisting of a small chart and a map can be promoted to FL status?

Finally, since we're talking about this set of articles, I would like to have your opinion on two additional issues. Firstly, the title of the submissions articles is highly misleading. For instance, the List of submissions for the 80th Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film gives the impression that there have been 80 Academy Awards given in the Foreign Language Film category, when in fact there have only been 52 such awards given the fact that the category was only created in 1957. Shouldn't we rename such lists into List of Best Foreign Language Film submissions at the 80th Academy Awards? My other comment is related to pre-1999 lists. Post-1999 submissions list can be improved and promoted to FL status, since it is possible to find on the Academy's website the official press releases listing these submissions. However, pre-1999 lists have no reference whatsoever; they are not verifiable and it is thus impossible for them to be promoted to FL status. I know that Adtran is the one who created most of these articles after the Academy sent him lists of most of the submissions. I'm sure most of the information in these articles is correct; however, is it possible to solely rely on this as a proper source? Regards. BomBom (talk) 11:41, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi Sephiroth BCR! Regarding the title of the submissions list, I agree with your proposal to have them named based on the model List of submissions to the 80th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The country lists should indeed be renamed List of [nationality] submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. And by the way, please don't work on the Submissions for the 72nd Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, since I've already worked a lot on it on my sandbox, and plan on submitting it soon for FLC. Regards.BomBom (talk) 14:51, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

List of FLCL episodes

Being a featured list doesn't mean it can't be merged, it doesn't have to go through an FLR to be merged, as there seems to be consensus for it. - A Link to the Past (talk) 01:01, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Submission lists

Hi, Sephiroth! I was just thinking exactly the same thing. In fact, I had already started applying part of your proposal by doing a List of submissions by post-Soviet states for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Since all of these states had their first submissions after 1992, it is possible to have references for all of them. Such a list would neither be too huge nor too short as the List of Lithuanian submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film currently is. It would certainly contain more than 10 entries and since it's possible to make it fully referenced, it could easily qualify for FLC. We can do the same thing with post-Yugoslav states. As for the other countries with only one or two submissions, can't we group them by geographic area? For instance, how about putting Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan into something like List of South Asian submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film (excluding India, of course, since it has too many submissions to be grouped with other countries)?

As for the featured topic issue, I think it would be great. However, I was really busy working on a monarchy-related FLC so I didn't do anything on the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film article. I'll try my best in the coming days. Feel free to edit it and add whatever information you may deem relevant. BomBom (talk) 00:37, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Sure, do redirect those lists!! Let's not abuse with it though, just for lists with only one or two items. Grouping them by geographic area seems like a good idea, unless there's a better way of grouping them (post-Soviet states, post-Yugoslav states, etc...). By the way, I have great news. I've found a reliable source with all the German submissions.[1] I'm working on a new version of the list right now on my sandbox, and will probably submit it for FLC in a few days. I've also found a source with all the Philippines' submissions.[2] The problem is that the latter is a blog, so I'm not sure if it will pass in FLC. It seems pretty reliable, though, since it was written with the assistance of someone from the Awards Department of the Academy. What do you think? Is it OK as a source or not? Bleach antagonist list

I've noticed you mention this idea a couple times, and while I agree that it seems like an attractive plan on the surface, a bit more time spent thinking about it made me realize it would be a rather poor idea. The classification antagonist has applied, at one point or another, to virtually everyone on the Bleach cast except Ichigo, Rukia, Orihime, and Chad. Ishida would have to be on it because of the Quincy Archer Hates You arc, Renji and everyone else from Soul Society would go on it because of the SS arc, etc. The sorting by race is non-ideal as well, I'll agree, but it at least doesn't have fundamental classification issues. --erachima talk 01:21, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Articles on fiction are supposed to be timeless though, hence the problem. Ishida is still a Bleach antagonist so long as the volumes in which he is Ichigo's enemy exist. Aizen and the espada are the enemies in the current storyline, but that could change next week if Kubo decides he wants that to happen for some reason.
This sort of classification issue doesn't normally come up with manga articles, partially because not many shonen series have Bleach's horribly fuzzy morality, but it's a common argument that comes up with classification of Western comics characters, many of whom have changed sides dozens of times in the course of their history. For fun, go count the number of group allegiance/membership categories on the old versions of the Magneto article. (I recall hearing Wolverine had upwards of 20 at one point.) --erachima talk 05:34, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

CSDs

I've been working on a few CSDs lately, and since only administrators can see them, if you've got a chance could you review my CSDs to see if I tagged them appropriately etc.? I'm talking about the ones that were deleted; sometimes the administrator deletes the article for a different reason than the one I tagged the article with, but in some cases I think it didn't matter, while in others it was really obvious that it should have been something else. Just point out the ones that I mistagged so I can remember for the future. Gary King (talk) 14:34, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Featured topics for WP:MANGA

This one's probably less to your tastes than the ones based on articles rather than lists, but a recent XfD discussion brought my attention to a relatively easy one we could create. Take a glance at the fricking huge List of series run in Weekly Shōnen Jump (which should probably be retitled List of manga serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump, now that I think about it). If we divided that into sub-lists by date range and gave them better intros and sources, that would be a featured topic all by itself. --erachima talk 07:12, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

I was thinking of expanding the individual lists substantially to contain more than just title lists and discuss the history of the Jump in that period. Though now that I reread my previous post I see that I didn't make that particularly clear. Anyway, right now that's just something to think about, and we have other more major concerns like the 0.7 cleanups to work on. I'll drop you a line if/when I start on it. --erachima talk 07:57, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
Also note that while the kilobyte count doesn't look that awful, the article is 31 pages long when printed, and therefore definitely qualifies for splitting on the grounds of being unreadably huge. Not quite up to the level of that one List of heirs to the crown of England, sure, but it's still much more information than can be digested in a single sitting. --erachima talk 08:52, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
