Signpost interview?

Hello, I will be working on an article for an upcoming issue of the signpost that will interview several prolific FL nominators. it is based on one recently done for FAs. Would you be willing to be interviewed for this? You can see the questions I have set up here. If you are interested, please let me know. Thanks, Scorpion0422 00:46, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, just add your answers whenever you are ready, there is no deadline so take your time. You can do them one at a time if you like. -- Scorpion0422 14:53, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Cut and paste move

Hey Sephiroth, it seems that J.P. Brooklyn performed an improper cut and paste move of List of Beyblade 2002 episodes to List of Beyblade V-Force episodes on November 29. I don't suppose you could fix it, could you? —Dinoguy1000 20:59, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Is List of Beyblade V-Force episodes the correct title? If so, I can do a history merge between the two to fix this. Cheers, — sephiroth bcr (converse) 21:16, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
I think so, but I don't know enough about Beyblade to be 100% sure. The main article is in deplorable condition, but it looks like the actual name *is* Beyblade V-Force - at least, the infobox informationco matches up. —Dinoguy1000 21:21, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Fair enough. Done. — sephiroth bcr (converse) 21:42, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Alright, thanks! —Dinoguy1000 21:44, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Re:List of Nobel Laureates by country

I like. You might run into some problems with people wanting sortability, but it is a list that is defined "by country". This is going to be an awfully long page, you're going to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 550 citations. -- Scorpion0422 02:07, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Well, you could get away without the citations if you just include the lists as general refs because after all, the countries are linked in those lists. It would shorten the page and wouldn't be a lot different from having citations. -- Scorpion0422 02:18, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

About that mop

Thanks for the offer, but I feel that I have to decline your offer to nominate me to become an administrator. With the two recent conflicts I had with other editors, even though I was on the receiving end of the abuse, I don't think I could stand up under that kind of abuse for very long. Also, the only reason I would want an administrator account for now would be if the project's templates were fully protected. --Farix (Talk) 12:41, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

My Userpage

Sephiroth BCR, your opinion is appreciated

Hello Sephiroth BCR, and first of all, thank you for your time. I am seeking input regarding my userpage. My userpage, and the header for the rest of my pages, reflects my personality, that is to say they are incredibly quirky. While this appeals to me, I would greatly appreciate the opinions of other editors I have interacted with on the site. So, as an editor I have come to respect, I kindly beseech you to place any comments, ideas, or opinions you may have on the subject of my userpage or page navigation header bar on the corresponding talk page. Thank you friend, and cheers! Scapler (talk) 17:50, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Alexander the Great edition triple laurel crown

I, Cirt (talk), am pleased to award the coveted Alexander the Great edition triple laurel crown to Sephiroth BCR. This special award recognizes the rare editor who contributes 15 pieces of featured content, 15 good articles, and 15 "Did you know?" entries. All hail Sephiroth BCR! List of True Tears episodes

When I submitted an episode article for review earlier last month, I was told that real-world impact was needed per the example given. Also, while it is not appropriate to discuss there RfC has concluded that any fictional topic pretty much will require some level of real-world notability claim in the future.

The item i proposed was List of Popotan episodes which User:G.A.S told me was not a list and basically in all ways shapes and forms it appears exactly like List of True Tears episodes, with a reception section because I was told to use smallville as a ref guide.じんない 09:12, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Please explain to me why the article I created was then not classified as a list even though it is a list of episodes? If you do that, I will withdraw it because then I'll understand why my created article was treated differently then those I saw when i checked that page.じんない 09:23, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I knew about the Stub/Start/C/B/FL class rating, which was why I didn't change the rating on that nor any other list I came across. I was not told to move the reception to the main article, nor was i directed to anywhere that told me how to design a list article beyond the basic list structure. No one directed me to a FL article, I was instead directed to obviously a wrong article.
I told you twice and distinctly different (from our normal style). I did assume you looked at our other FL's though. Sorry about that. G.A.Stalk 15:22, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
I do apologize again for inadvertently not notifying you. It was not my intent to not do so.じんない 09:35, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Alright. Thank you. I will remember this for the future, though I do wish I had been instructed better in the first place not to have to go through this trouble.じんない 09:48, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Request for advice on splitting a chapter list

Hi, I'd greatly appreciate it, if you, as the mastermind behind the featured topic of Naruto chapters and general expert on featured lists, would leave a comment at Talk:List of One Piece chapters#Split. Regards. -- Goodraise (talk) 17:19, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

List of YuYu Hakusho episodes (all seasons)

I find that the episode descriptions are a bit short for FL list episodes on every season (1-4). They don't even have the minimum suggested summary of 100 words. To clarify, i'm talking not about the main article, but the 4 individual seasons.じんない 23:42, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

I was just checking. I was only vaguely familiar with the series and knew it was a fighting-style anime, but did not know how long fights were dragged out.じんない 23:51, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Seeing that you are actively engaged in both WP:VG and WP:ANIME (and thus familiar with WP:MOS-JA), I thought it would be wise to ask you this. Well, I have came across this article on a visual novel known as 遠隔捜査 -真実への23日間, which was originally located at Enkaku Sousa: Sana e no 23 Hiai. Looking at the Japanese title, I decided to move the page to where it is currently located at, Enkaku Sōsa: Shinjitsu e no 23 Nichikan, but is then informed by the user who created the article, that media (English media, of course), is referring the game as Sana e no 23 Hiai. I am wondering what's your opinion in this matter, and whether the page should be moved back or not. Thanks. -- クラウド668 04:35, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

movie article correction?

just hopped on wikipedia to see how many oscars Network got and noticed what I would consider a pretty glaring error in story telling, but after five minutes of searching around I still havent been able to figure out how to contact anyone. Sorry, but yours was the first page I found where I could simply click to contact . If you are interested, the article states the "I'm mad as Hell" speech occurs after Howard has his new show, is in response to the takeover of the network, and is what he asks people to telegram to the White House. Actually it occurs much earlier in the film, is the reason he is given the re-vamped show, and the message that is sent to the White House, much later in the film, is something like "no deal for UB" or something very specific to the station takeover. (havent seen it in a while but I do remember this very clearly, and think the point in the film for perhaps one of the most memorable rants in film history is vital. Thanks, hope I contacted the right guy and I hope this is updated, it looks like its been in there since 2002? Jenise jenisealongi@aol.com wow! cant even figyre out how to send this to you now!! other than expand and make all the episodes summaries about the same length (which i am in the process of doing), what else do i need to do for the article as you mentioned it was near FL status.じんない 01:13, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

I really ought to resume working there. Thanks for carrying the burden during my illness. How have you found it? --Dweller (talk) 11:59, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: Barnstar

Thanks Sephiroth ^_^.Tintor2 (talk) 12:36, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

I've never seen an episode list marked incomplete for missing summaries, as long as all titles/airdates were there. I thought those were just generally marked as start class. Is this something new? If so...there are a LOT that need that mark :P Also, any particular reason not to pipe Amazon.com|Amazon.co.jp, to clarify that its the Japanese site not the American one? Its something I've done in all articles where I've used another Amazon for a source, to differentiate (particularly if multiples are used in one article), so would like to make sure its not violating a guideline. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 22:09, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Awards work

I'm currently trying to get a FT together around the awards of the Royal Society. I've come up with a problem though; there is no "main article". The only thing I can think of is to create Awards of the Royal Society (same sort of idea as List of Nobel Laureates) to draw em all together and act as a central topic. Thoughts/suggestions? Ironholds (talk) 19:18, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm thinking I'd have to have seperate List of medals of the Royal Society and List of Lectures of the Royal Society because the medals alone would be (at least) 12 rows wide, but thanks for 'approving it' as it were. My intention with or without an FT is to get them all up to FL anyway; I have 2 down, 1 being checked and in need of supports (hint, hint) and seven (gah) to go. Still, with this wikiproject it should be easier. Thanks again. Ironholds (talk) 20:42, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Alright, I've run into a slight problem; the Copley Medal was first awarded about 60 years before any of the others. Do I have 60 years of a mostly-blank table? Ironholds (talk) 21:53, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Good idea! I'll set it up like that, then. Ironholds (talk) 23:25, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Something odd...

SInce you are an admin, I was wondering if you could shed some light on an odd problem I have encountered. I created Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Leroy J. Gibbs for Leroy J. Gibbs, however the deletion discussion page apparently has no revision history (it displays it at times, and at others claims not to have one), and sometimes shows up as not existing, while displaying normally at other times. Also, Leroy J. Gibbs does not show the AfD nomination in its history. Hope you can help and cheers! Scapler (talk) 18:05, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, simple solution I suppose. Still does not solve the mystery, probably just something wrong with code. Thank you for your help! Scapler (talk) 18:18, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Ikki Tousen cut'n'paste move

Hey Sephiroth, here's another cut'n'paste move for you: someone recently moved Ikki Tousen to Ikki Tōsen (using the move tool, so that's all cool), but then copied the content from Ikki Tōsen back to Ikki Tousen after User:Moocowsrule talked to him about it. Moocows then proceeded to move Ikki Tousen to Battle Vixens, citing that the manga is the original work and licensed in English as "Battle Vixens". Care to restore the article history to Battle Vixens for her (you can see her original request at User talk:Dinoguy1000#Help!!!)? ダイノガイ?!」(Dinoguy1000) 20:22, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Are these articles within the topic?

Hi, Sephiroth BCR! I just added myself to the Nobel Laureates topic at WP:PRIZE. Are articles like List of Nobel Laureates by country also included in this topic? I've noticed several lists in different categories like this, so I can look for them and add them if they are within the topic. Chamal talk 10:51, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Hmm... on second thoughts (and looking more closely), there's nothing much to be done is there? So I'll just get working with the other topic. Tell me if I can help though. Cheers. Chamal talk 11:24, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Featured lists

Hi Sephiroth! Just saw your interview on the signpost; didn't know you were so involved in featured list! Anyway, quite a while ago I unwatched almost all Bleach-related articles due to the deletion/merger of some which involved a lot of writing, fact-checking, vandalism-fighting, etc. on my part. However, I still wish to improve the articles that are left and since you worked in that field, as well as the similar List of Naruto articles, maybe we could improve List of Bleach characters to reach FL status. Now that I think about it, I made over 300 edits to that page during 2005–2007, that's way too much. Let me know if you're interested in working on this list, and tell me what you need done! Despite doing quite a bit of work on List of Israeli cities, I don't really know much about FLs. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 05:42, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

I have a little list......

Like the preceding commenter, I was brought here by your being mentioned in the Signpost article about lists—coupled with your being at Princeton, which I attended a few years ago. (I don't recall having seen any self-identified Princetonian Wikipedians before, just a bunch of Yalies. :) )

If your schedule permits, would you be able to help me with formatting a list I am starting (or if you can't, suggest someone who can)? It's in embryonic form in my userspace right now, but I hope to take it to FL at some point, so I'd like to organize it in some reasonable fashion, and frankly, I know as much about coding the parameters for a table as I do about taking my own appendix out, so I need some guidance. Thanks and regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 07:25, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Soul Eater

Hello Sephiroth BCR, since you've been working on Soul Eater and it's getting into the same case as many other series where content starts to be removed for notability I thought I'd let you know about the Soul Eater Wiki over at Wikia. Feel free to make any improvements you make on Wikipedia also over on the Soul Eater Wiki, we have 90% of the Wikipedia content already integrated and being improved and any content that Wikipedia doesn't find notable can be kept on the Soul Eater Wiki. Answer for your comment

Sephiroth BCR, I doubt that your comments like this [3] can help to clarify the question. If someone consider that these episode's articles are stubs (and is not going to work about them), feel free to use "Stub" tags (or tags like Template:Primarysources), - but not "Notability" tags.

The Notability of these articles has already been confirmed (first times at [4], and the second times at the TOL talk page, and so, there was no reasons to include the "Notability" templates at the article's pages again. Especially, there was no reasons to restore these templates after my deletions of them [5].

Also, if you have been traced all the discussion from its beginning, you must understand, that the only reason of their restoration by this user was just a pure attempt to take a Revenge for his defeat in the debates. It clearly means, that Sgeureka do not recognize any agreements and goodwill explanations in Wiki, excepting his own opinion. Too many explanation for him was already have been done, for example, at The Outer Limits talk page.

About personal attacks, you are wrong again. At first, it must be more interesting for you, that you yourself was recently warned about such attacks at your talk page [6]. And it is so strange to hear it from you.

At second, I consider as a personal attacks this user's pure revenging attempts (for his failed debates), and his comments like this [7] (read carefully my comment at this page, and his stupid and misleading answer). I am not trying to discredit Sgeureka; unfortunately, he permanently discredits himself, despite all my (and not only mine) attempts to make him more reasonable.

About my ultimatum, he had much more time, than 24 hours. Of course, I cannot to block him or to remove his adminship by myself. But I can to a bit enforce and accelerate these processes. And it seems to me, that everyone in enwiki, who knows him, must know, what [User:Sgeureka|this user]] is actually doing here, and what concretely methods he is using to break the goodwill principles of Wikipedia. Happy New Year & Best wishes. Krasss (talk) 00:09, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

your menu

Hi. I don't see how this helps anything ( but it's your page ;). font-tags are evil. The other nit remaining is;

  • border-color:{{{2|#ccc;}}};
(which I just noticed has an extra ';')
I don't think you're using the arg and expect it could just be an explicit value.

Cheers, Jack Merridew 09:44, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

For some reason, the text wasn't coming out as Verdana or the color I wanted on my screen, so I moved back to the old style, as clunky as it seems to a HTML nerd like yourself ;-) — sephiroth bcr (converse) 09:48, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
I messed-up, a bit; I used font-face, not font-family; just fixed it. I think this was due to tweaking what was there instead of just starting fresh. This should get the face right and I'm not seeing the color being wrong. You want them always blue, right? Cheers, Jack Merridew 09:59, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, looks good now. Thanks a bunch. — sephiroth bcr (converse) 10:03, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
You're welcome. Note that if you change that phone image, the padding will be far less, as that image has a lot of white space around it. If you'd like more tweaks to userstuff, just ask. Cheers, Jack Merridew 10:56, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Dabomb87 (talk · contribs) and Collectonian (talk · contribs) both mentioned that the list needs a thorough copyedit and when I asked Dabomb who I should look to for lists, he referred me to you and Dinoguy1000 (talk · contribs), who I am also asking. I know you've gotten an extremely high amount of featured lists (aren't you one of the top featured list creators?) so if you could add your expertise to the list, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! NOCTURNENOIR ( m • t • c ) 20:52, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

That's too bad... You wouldn't happen to know anybody else who could copyedit that list, would you? It just failed FLC, so I'm in a bit of a jam here because I don't think I'll be able to find someone to copyedit it. DARTH PANDAduel • work 17:45, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

InuYasha Redirect insanity

Do you think some of the alternate name redirects at Special:WhatLinksHere/InuYasha should be deleted? I thought redirects weren't supposed to cover every single possible capitalization/spacing difference like that? -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 11:06, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
