AfC notification: Draft:David Phillips (Sculptor) has a new comment
[edit]- Dear Mentor,
- Could you please help me with the submission of the new page for sculptor David Phillips?
- It was rejected again, this time apparently for reasons tied to the “quality and reliability of sources.” Since you had suggested that I add new references in the education section, I added references of Cranbrook Academy, the New England Conservatory of Music, State of Utah, and also the Christian Science Monitor, the Boston Globe, and the Art Net Magazine, all reliable secondary sources of good reputation and totally independent from the well-known artist David Phillips.
- Besides, in addition to the articles above in the Boston Globe and other publications, I added a few more references on his artwork, such as the Mel Lederman Memorial Foundation (private website), Landscape Notes (sourced in partnership with MIT and Harvard), and some blogs that perhaps are not strong enough references, in which case we could remove them, of course.
- On another note, I did not include an article from the AP News Agency that mentions David Phillips as the sculptor retained by the Boston Museum of Science to design and build the future Leonard Nimoy memorial with a 20-foot sculpture shaped like Mr. Spock’s split-fingered hand, because I thought this is just an ongoing project for now (Please see article from a CBS station here: https://www.wkyt.com/2021/03/26/live-long-in-sculpture-20-foot-art-planned-for-spock-symbol/)
- Likewise, I omitted the publication from the Animal League of Boston regarding the work they commissioned David Phillips for (see reference here: http://www.arlboston.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Donor-and-artist-profile-release_15-5-22.pdf). This sculpture is already referenced in Wikidata and I could add a picture to that page if appropriate (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q109272102).
- Other existing references include an article from the Boston Herald that I omitted since access is reserved to subscribers as is often the case with news/media outlets/websites (here it is: https://www.bostonherald.com/2013/05/29/his-pet-project-ex-teacher-donates-animal-sculpture-to-boston/)
- Again, I am happy to edit further under your guidance to complete this page and publish it according to the very essence of Wikipedia practice.
- Thank you very much for your help.
- Kind regards, Crescendo102 (talk) 00:27, 19 July 2022 (UTC)

Netherzone (talk) 17:59, 2 September 2022 (UTC)- Netherzone, thank you for your help with the pages I created. Based on your note above that "you can now create articles yourself without posting a request," do you think I can publish the new page I created for artist Bertrand Lavier? Or should I simply wait for someone to review it since the page is already in the "pipeline" for review? Crescendo102 (talk) 21:03, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for creating Jean Le Gac, I've accepted it as he is a very well known conceptual artist, and the article sourcing shows this is the case. The article can be improved - as it is it reads like a resume or CV, simply listing his exhibitions. This section should be developed and rewritten as prose content in an encyclopedic style. I've also taken the liberty to move the largely unsourced and unneccessary Bibliography section to the article talk page. Perhaps 3 or so of the most important (and sourced) entries can be added back to the article - a Further reading section could be added below the references for this purpose. Also the 1986 public art work needs a citation. Thanks again for the article! Let me know if you have any questions. Netherzone (talk) 18:06, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for your guidance.
- I just completed a redone Jean Le Gac wiki page section and published it. I hope this works and I will continue to improve it in the future.

[edit]Hi @Crescendo102: I've done a wee bit of work to copyedit the article, changed the section to standardise them a bit per WP:MOS I notice it doesn't have a biographical section of his life, for example his family and career, where he was educated as soon on, covering his whole life. This section is really needed. Can you add it in. It needs a full career section. scope_creepTalk 08:11, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for your kind help. I looked for biographical and personal information such as family, education, career, etc. but I could not find any from reliable Wikipedia-compliant sources. The artist must be a very private person. Nevertheless, I will continue searching for that information. Crescendo102 (talk) 22:38, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Samf4u. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Miles Davis—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Samf4u (talk) 21:44, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, Samf4u, thank you for your kind help. I am reverting back to page #238 which happens to be the exact page where the citation by Miles Davis appears in the book referenced in the article: "Miles Speaks - Everything That Miles Told" and removing the previous page numbers that referred to Miles paintings only.
- Page #238 is more relevant to the reader and can be found in this book here:
