Any particular reason for this revert? I thought the trend was to migrate templates to the navbox layout rather than away from it. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 14:22, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Brighton & Hove Albion kits

Hello there, I was just wondering if you (or any other Wikipedia contributor) would be able to sort out the Away kit and the third kit on the main page for Brighton & Hove Albion. I unfortunatley don't know how to do this and after several attempts it went well and truly wrong.

This is the new Brighton away kit: http://www.seagullshop.co.uk/files//Replica_Kit/away_shirt.jpg

And this is the third kit, which was last seasons away shirt: http://www.seagullshop.co.uk/files//Replica_Kit/away_shirt_Tommy.jpg

I would be seriously grateful if these edits can be made. RM-Taylor (talk) 22:35, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Enfield Town FC

Enfield Town F.C. (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) Thanks for your help in keeping the Enfield Town FC page within Wikipedia rules. I have had far too much to do elsewhere to keep on top of it. I notice that there are a number of "citation needed" notes in there now. Did you put these in? Most of these are asking for a citation where the source is referenced shortly afterwards. The bit about the ground not being up to scratch for promotion to follow the first league win is true. I will have to find a link for the reference for that. Anyway, again, thanks for your help. Jancyclops (talk) 23:58, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Amir Khan Flags

please stop taking the Amir Khan flags off for the country in which he fought in the Pro boxing record, it is okay for Wladimir Klitsckho to have loads of Germany flags but not Amir Khan? likewise Lennox Lewis, Ricky Hatton etc etc etc, Cheers —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Rebel LFC (talkcontribs) 16:24, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

It's not a heads up, it may not be policy but in the same breath you dont gain anything by removing them either, so dont remove them please, you will make me happy —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Rebel LFC (talkcontribs) 18:18, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

SO what, do you get paid for doing this job because I'm very confused, your only a year older than me? Just put the flags back will you, I'm not exactly a wikipedia buff like you, them flags took me a very long time to do, and it's highly infuriating when my hard work is undermined, the Klitsckho flags have been up there for a very long time, they have managed to stay within the guidelines, why cant you just leave them, you proving nothing by removing them (The Rebel LFC (talk) 18:44, 29 July 2009 (UTC))

I have nominated Scott Doe, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Scott Doe (3rd nomination). Jonathan dos Santos

Hey, I'm trying to get some love for dos Santos. A few days ago his article was there. The wiki page for Barca denies his existence. He has torn shit up for Barca during the last few weeks on their US tour, outplaying many of the superstars, hustling, winning balls and making plays. Sure, playing in international friendlies in the US is not like playing in an important game, but this kid is really good.

While the content is cited to a source, this being material about two living people, we require that the sources be of high quality and not tabloid gossip rags. I would request that you undo your edit or provide an actual source. -- The Red Pen of Doom 21:39, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, and I'm pretty sure back in the day there was a law that said you could only play football for the nation of your birth...so if was born in Scotland, he would only have been eligible for the Scottish national team...GiantSnowman 18:13, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Aaron Moses-Garvey

Is there anywhere in the MoS or style guidelines which says the {{0|000}}? format is either required, or preferred to ???? or xxxx or any other particular format? Because if it is just a matter of taste, then the MoS does say we shouldn't change from one permitted format to another without a style-independent reason. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 17:22, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

No problem. Wouldn't have been the first time someone had changed the guidelines without me noticing :-) cheers, Struway2 (talk) 17:39, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Phil Jones Article Alterations

Hello. Can you please refrain from altering this article in the manner you have already done. It did not need a 'clean up', so needlessly altering it is pointless. Jones played a official match for the Rovers 1st team, and so i specially created this article. If you remove his cap for the first team, the article will get nominated for deletion. Also, to reply to some of the other alterations you have made. He did not win the man-of-the-match award. He put in a man-of-the-match performance. A term that is used these days in football. I have however referenced the match in question, something i was waiting to be completed at the time of creating the article. His place of birth is currently unknown as it is not listed on his club profile, however his place of birth is listed as England, something i have indicated in his profile.RoverTheBendInSussex (talk) 00:28, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Petar Rnkovic

I see that you have deleted the original entry to the player being named Petar Rakovic, as you thought this was about the player being named Petar Rnkovic. This is an error and should be corrected as there is a player named Petar Rakovic (b. 1984) and a player named Petar Rnkovic (b. 1978). I suggest to make changed so that the original article about Petar Rakovic is shown again, and then make a new entry about Grays player Petar Rnkovic. :)193.212.67.64 (talk) 22:18, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Hullaballoo Wolfowitz

Hoe does one stop the enormous cult that is Hullaballoo Wolfowitz? He keeps vandalising/blanking ACCURATE, RELEVANT, NON-CONTENTIOUS, NON-BLP copy on (literally) hundreds/thousands of articles. I'm in the modst of a very tiresome edit war with him regarding the artlcle for Nina Carter. I'm relatively new to this game but am keen to know how we can stop people with an obvious agenda who have no interest in any view that differs even minute;y from their own and seeks to impose their beliefs and views on others, repeatedly and ad nauseam? Any advice would be most welcome...

(p.s. sorry no sig but I'm on WiFi in a hotel and check out tomorrow)

Apologies

Hi there JIMBO, VASCO here,

I am sorry if my latest summary at Eddie Youds sounded aggressive and/or unpolite, not intended. My first reaction was due to the fact that the birthplace was removed, and not relocated, but it was a bit exaggerated, i'll admit. Another "beef" that i have constantly is the following: i don't understand why are full club names not allowed to appear in storyline (the box compression is quite understandable), i think it would add to the piece's overall display, and i also see there is no pattern in articles whatsoever (some have it, some don't).

That said, rest assured, your latest edit will not be reverted (by me that is), i am not a vandal man, only trying to help (as you i am sure).

Greetings, have a nice weekend,

Infobox Flags

I saw that you removed the flag from Candace Chapman, which represents the nationality for which she is declared under for FIFA. While I understand the ruling set forth by MOS:FLAG in regards to sportspeople, I would like further clarification of why this ruling exists. It seems as though, through a technicality, all flags were banned from sportspeople infoboxes because, reading over the rules, it leads me to believe that it would be a POV issue. However, the flags in question clearly represent the nation for which the athlete has represented. In many of the non-sportspeople arguments, there are concerns that it would "imply" nationality and undermine the neutral POV standpoint of Wikipedia, such as a flag for place of birth, citizenship, etc.

This looks like a blanket-rule which should simply be disregarded or changed when referring to the country an athlete has represented. I'm not implying or undermining any nationalistic points of view, it's a very clear cut fact that the nations represented by the other athletes are what the flags represent. If you could, please point me to a further discussion of said rules as I'd like to look at the reasoning behind the rules, at least in terms for the Football Project.
