Weymouth Fc Squad List

I would like to make a loan page underneath for all loan players that come in and out of the club. can u agree to this to settle this edit war.

Just Makes it look untidy and clearer to see if you ask me. They do it on premier league pages eg. Arsenal F.C..

maybe it is but his loan is up after next saturday so we can end the problems after. but i will continue to delete unless we can come with a suitable decision maybe make a page about him??

Right fine after reading it i accept this but can u leave the team in the name order as i have done which is done by positions they play in. Are you a Weymouth Fan?

2010 WikiCup Signups Reconfirmation!

To ensure that everyone who signed up is still committed to participating in the 2010 WikiCup, it is required that you remove your name from this list! By removing your name, you are not removing yourself from the WikiCup. This is simply a way for the judges to take note of who has not yet reconfirmed their participation. If you have not removed your name from that list by December 30th, 2009 (by 23:59 (UTC)) then your name will be removed from the WikiCup.

It's worth noting the rules have changed, likely after you signed up. The changes made thus far are:

  • Mainspace and/or portal edits will not be awarded points at all.
  • Did you know? articles (which were worth 5 points last year) will now be worth 10 points.
  • Good articles (which were worth 30 points last year) will now be worth 40 points.
  • Valued pictures will be now awarded points, however the amount (5 or 10 points) is still being discussed.
  • Featured lists (which were worth 30 points last year) will now be worth 40 points.
  • Featured portals (which were worth 25 points last year) will now be worth 35 points.
  • Featured articles (which were worth 50 points last year) will now be worth 100 points.
  • Featured topics (which were worth 10 points per article last year) will now be worth 15 points per any article in the topic that you were a major contributor to.
  • Good topics (which were worth 5 points per article last year) will now be worth 10 points per any article in the topic that you were a major contributor to.
  • In the news will still be awarded points, however the amount (5 or 10 points) is still being discussed.

If you have any final concerns about the WikiCup's rules and regulations, please ask them now, before the Cup begins to avoid last minute problems. You may come to the WikiCup's talk page, or any of the judge's user talk pages. We're looking forwards to a great 2010 WikiCup! On behalf of the WikiCup judges, iMatthew talk at 03:44, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Relisting notice

Per Spartaz's request, I am notifying you that this discussion that you participated in has been relisted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Una Healy (2nd nomination) in the hopes to gain a more fair consensus due to the participation of three sock puppet accounts in the earlier discussion. The three sock accounts that checkuser confirmed are the same person voted to delete or redirect and made multiple edits to the discussion which closed as "redirect" and therefore may have created a false impression of consensus by vote-stacking. Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 20:06, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Flickr images of The Saturdays

I don't think File:Rochelle Wiseman crop.jpg and File:Frankie Sandford crop.jpg are really free images. This looks like a classic case of flickrwashing: someone finding a non-free image somewhere online and uploading it to their flickr page but tagging it as free. Do you have any evidence to confirm that this picture really was taken by the flickr user? If not, I will put the image up for deletion. Thank you, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 15:28, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. I have deleted them. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 15:43, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

Unfortunately, since the image is on commons I can't delete it (I'm only an admin on en-wiki). But I've tagged it; hopefully someone will take care of it soon. Thanks for the heads-up. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 22:29, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Last chance to confirm your WikiCup participation!

Hi Jimbo online! This is the last message that will go out to remind you that in order to participate in the 2010 WikiCup, you MUST remove your name from this list! Again, the reason for this reconfirmation is to ensure you've looked over the updated point values (which were different at the time you signed up) and to ensure that you are still interested in competing! If you don't have time to participate or no longer wish to, ignore this message and leave your name on the list. All names on the list will be removed from the contestants list before the Cup starts. Cheers! iMatthew talk at 14:22, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your help with this article! I don't know about things like adding categories.

Would it be possible for you to add one of those boxes most footballers have by their opening paragraph about their career statistics? Obviously, it will have to be blank for the time being, but it will add to the layout of the article.

Hello mate, I see you changed Jammal Shahin's nationality from Jordanian to English on the Grimsby Town page. Just to let you know, I've changed it back. Although Shahin was born in the UK, his parents and family are Jordanians and rumour has it he carries a Jordanian passport anyway. Thing is this bloke is marginally notable at present. It can be interpreted either way but I think we understand that unless he recieves a serious injury in the next month this guy will have a full professional game. Delete seems the wrong way to do it. I would be inclined to delete if there was no marginal notability but I think this guy just about scrapes it and a delete at present is nonsensical. Polargeo (talk) 15:27, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Jimbo online! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 942 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. anwar uddin

Please do not be so hasty. I've just created a dab page anwaruddin. As everyone familiar with these names knows, the names "anwaruddin" and "anwar uddin" are identical historically, in meaning, and when written in other alphabets. The transcription of names of this type into European alphabets is notoriously variable. So it is right to treat "anwaruddin" and "anwar uddin" as variant spellings of the same name, not as distinct. I now don't understand exactly what you've done, but it seems ot have created a bit of a tangle. it would have been preferable to approach me on my talk page before just reverting. Your username

Hey there. I don't know if anyone's brought this up with you before, but your username is potentially confusing - on Wikipedia, 'Jimbo' generally refers to Jimbo Wales (User:Jimbo Wales), Wikipedia's founder. Indeed, some users have been blocked for creating accounts with names too similar to his, like User:Jim Wales. I'm sure you're not trying to impersonate him, but I'm sure I'm also not the only person who's been confused by your name - when I saw the comments on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vanessa Perroncel saying 'I agree with Jimbo', I thought for a moment Jimbo Wales had intervened to comment on this article. I'm not saying you should change your name outright, but how about putting a notice at the top of your userpage saying 'This user is NOT Jimbo Wales'? That would remove the ambiguity and prevent these problems arising again in future. Robofish (talk) 12:35, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

The article Brett Johnson (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:ATHLETE; did not play for team in a top-level professional league, such as the EPL.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 00:30, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

Your revert to Aaron McLean

Why did you revert my edit to Aaron McLean's page that his brother is the UK singer McLean? http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aaron_McLean&diff=352446213&oldid=351192767 The page for McLean_(singer) already mentions the relation. 68.45.109.136 (talk) 21:08, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

How is it "original research" to copy something from one Wikipedia page to another? I knew "trivia sections" were inappropriate so I didn't put it in the trivia section. In any case, there's so much unsourced crap on Wikipedia that a commonly known fact like that shouldn't be deleted just because it's unsourced. If I deleted everything unsourced on Wikipedia there would be little left. 68.45.109.136 (talk) 22:20, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

I refer to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aaron Martin (Football) where you supported deleting this article; the discussion was duly closed as delete. However, several of the deletion arguments expressly noted that the deletion was only because Mr. Martin had not played at a significantly high level. Reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:29, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

"Fixes"

Hi,

Regarding this edit: all of those changes are whitespace / template-calling edits. As the article used another style consistently already, I don't see the need to change to another style without making other edits at the same time. I haven't reverted, but in general the consensus is that if an article consistently uses one style then it shouldn't be changed to use another in isolation from other edits unless there's a pressing reason to do so. Any particular reason for preferring to delete the whitespace there? Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 23:57, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Audley Harrison

The press stories today about Audley Harrison do not use Fraudley, A Farce or Audrey. These Nicknames were associated with the earlier part of his career and do not apply today (Inverdale story is 2006) The consensus section provides a logical approach in the fact that wiki must be open to change as with all things. The following articles depict Audley's current image in the Media / http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/821645/DAVID-HAYE-is-lining-up-a-Battle-of-Britain-clash-against-Audley-Harrison-after-talks-with-Wladimir-Klitschko-stalled.html / http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/others/boxing-hayemaker-lands-blow-for-fellow-fighters-842458.html / http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2010/apr/09/audley-harrison-boxing-michael-sprott.

I think its clear the general consensus of the media in Britain ( the rest of the Worlds media do not call Audley anything but Audley / Harrison or A Force, http://www.vcstar.com/news/2010/may/15/fighting-for-everything/ ), has changed about Audley and it is fair to remove the nickname section from the site and infobox as its not applicable today.

Please explain a logical reason to keep it there, if you do not conquer with my comments. I hope we can move forward on this and put this issue to bed. Thanks Aforceone (talk) 17:14, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

In reply to your message and edit. I would suggest looking at Manchester City, Hannover 96 and any of the other pages where footballers have died. 2010–11 Blackburn Rovers F.C. season

Would you please refrain from editing this section please as it was all correct and didn't need editing. Gai Assulin didn't need his flag icon removed along with Benjani. As free agents they are listed as being free agents of the region i flag-listed them as. I.e. Israel and Zimbabwe respectively. As for why you edited the Benjani section to say he was on trial with Rovers in 2011, i have no idea. I can only presume you have a time machine and have skipped forward into the future? Could you please refrain from editing something that doesn't need editing. I am doing a pefectly good job at keeping it all up to date without your incorrect edits thankyou very much! RoverTheBendInSussex (talk) 12:15, 12 August 2010 (GMT)

If you look, it was you who originally put August 2011. So I suggest you be more careful when editing and accusing people. Also pay attention to Wiki policies and guidelines, if you did, editors wouldn't have to clean up after you. Thanks, --Jimbo[online] 11:33, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Informing authors of possible deletions

I notice you have several times nominated articles for deletion, but have not informed the authors of the articles. Whenever you put forward a page for deletion, whether via speedy deletion, proposed deletion, or Articles for Deletion discussion, you should almost always inform the original author of the article, and perhaps also other major contributors to it. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:09, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

It's not a requirement to do so. --Jimbo[online] 18:59, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
No, it's not a requirement, but it helps both the author of the article and the administrator who assesses the article for deletion, and there is a very well-established consensus that it should be done. It is an inconvenience to an administrator to have to keep dealing with editors who have had their work deleted without warning and come to the the administrator with irate complaints. It is also very discourteous to an editor to not let them know that their work is being considered for deletion, and it does not give them a chance to improve or justify the article if doing so is possible. It is by no means unknown for a deletion to be declined simply on the grounds that the author was not informed. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:07, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Jimbo. I noticed you'd removed Joel Etienne-Clark from a list of notable players for Leyton F.C. (and, by the look of things, some other clubs). Surely an international footballer is notable at Ryman League level? Completely non-wiki topic

Hey there Jimbo, I know that it's possible you consider Atlanta your "home" sports team(s), and I'm sorry ... but this was complete ... ummmm ... how do we say it "on wiki" ... "not optimal"(?). Cheers Jimbo. — Ched :  ?  19:03, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

OOPPPSSS .... I stand corrected: Jerry Meals, ... guess it's not so "non-wiki" after all. — Ched :  ?  19:22, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
I'm not a baseball fan. You must have me confused with someone else. --Jimbo[online] 23:46, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Sorry about that Jimbo, I must have been in too much of a hurry and picked the wrong "Jimbo" by mistake. Sorry to have bothered you. Cheers and Best ... — Ched :  ?  19:56, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

Hello. Just to let you know I removed your prod because the creator had already removed my earlier prod, so procedurally it has to go to AfD. See here. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 17:41, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi, i noticed you edited the SC Mauerbach page that I made. However, I don't understand your reasons for deleting parts of the page, please could you explain. Cheers, Drawley (talk) 14:57, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Jack Jeffery

I see you restored the suffix to H&R in Jeffery's infobox. Do you know any other way to reduce the width of the infobox, given that it's half the width of the article and looks ridiculous? Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:28, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:34, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I jumped the gun. I read another link before the above — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.198.212.85 (talk) 18:18, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Ray Spear

You said that the article was up for deletion as Spear has "not played at a fully professional" level. Surely playing for Torquay United, a professional club, against other professional teams (i.e. Bristol City, Exeter) makes him a pro? Also he was mentioned in an Exeter newspaper and numerous times on the Torquay website, so he does have media coverage. I noticed you made a page for Chris Brown (footballer born 1992), a player who plays in non-league, at a level lower than Ray Spear. Surely if my page should be deleted, that page should too? CSD A7 on Brendan Kiernan

Hi, I wanted to let you know that I have challenged your WP:CSD A7 on Brendan Kiernan. In my opinion, playing for a professional club is a claim of importance sufficient to satisfy the very low threshold on criteria A7. I have left the article with a BLPPROD, but I don't claim that the article passes any of the notability criteria, and I have no objection if you would like to WP:PROD or nominate the article for WP:AfD on notability grounds. DYK for Clydie Roberts

Orlady (talk) 16:04, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

You PRODed this, and it was deleted. Undeletion has been requested at WP:REFUND, so per WP:DEL#Proposed deletion I have restored it, and now notify you in case you wish to consider taking it to AfD. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 10:51, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

I declined your speedy deletion request for Adam Quinn (footballer). Looking at the deleted article and the current article they are significantly different. GB fan 13:23, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Declined CSD:G4 on Fabio Hoxha

I'm sorry to inform you but I short circuited the CSD:G4 on the above mentioned article because the reasoning at the AfD was Non-Notable. However the content does indicate that the player has met the requirements of WP:NFOOTY. Tagging with G4 so soon after it was created is not very helpful to new editors. Seeing the above mentions of declined speedies, please review the criteria and slow down your tagging. Hasteur (talk) 21:19, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
