It all depends on whether or not your company meets the criteria for inclusion and shows why in the article. I hope that helps :) -- lucasbfr talk 11:24, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Yes thankyou, I just visited the WP:WORP page and observed the following:

The WP:CORP page says that "Organizations are usually notable if the scope of activities are national or international in scale and information can be verified by sources that are reliable and independent of the organization. In other words, they satisfy the primary criterion above."

My article contained authentic secondary sources from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan as well as the Associate of Chartered Certified Accountants of which our firm is a member. Both these organizations are Internationally recognized governing bodies. The links given by me contain the mention of our firms name on their own websites. Moreover, our offices are also located in Newcastle - UK as well as in Leicestershire - UK in addition to Karachi - Pakistan.

The WP:CORP page further says:

"Other criteria are:

  * Organizations whose activities are local in scope are usually not notable unless verifiable information from reliable independent sources can be found. (I gave those sources}
  * The organization’s longevity, size of membership, or major achievements, or other factors specific to the organization may be considered. We are one of the first few Pakistani Firms to be given the status of ACCA Accredited Employers and among the very few Accountancy Firms to have better Quality Control Ratings as verified by our regulatory Body, and the link of which is already given by me on that deleted page

The WP:CORP page further says:

Information on products and services should generally be included in the article on the company itself, unless the company article is so large that this would make the article unwieldy. In that case, the discussion of the company's products and services should be broken out from the company article in summary style.

If the product or service is notable, it can be broken out into its own article. If it is not notable, it should not be broken out into its own article but should have whatever verifiable information about it that exists presented within an article that has a broader scope, such as an article that deals with all of the company's products and services.

If a non-notable product or service has been written about in its own article, be bold and rename, refactor, or merge the article into an article with a broader scope, such as the company's article, creating it if necessary.

The whole theme of the deleted page was informative and no where were we using marketing language. The page was only for information purposes and a very BRIEF info about the firm and a summary of its CLIENTS / SERVICES.

I will appreciate if you would take the data posted by me on that page and create an article yourself under the name of A A Baig & Co. in the category of Accounting Firms.

One more thing, please visit these pages on Wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Rhodes_Sidat_Hyder

Also in Karachi, also an accountancy firm like ours.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_and_Williamson

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenon_Group

Both Smith as well as Tenon are "LOCAL" firms restricted to UK and not international. Yet they have their pages.

Thanks, but...

Thanks for offering help. I have used ctrl+shift+R instead of shift+F5, as I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser. That helped some. But, I haven't been able to figure out the rolback functions yet. The tabs say "watch", "warn", "arv", "csd", "last" "rpp" and "xfd". How does this help me locate vandalism? I can't even check recent pages with this. I really need some guidance. Thanks!

Thanks for helping me with the template. I have another quick questions. Could you align the box into the center of the box it is at this template? Thanks again! ~ Wikihermit 23:35, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Druid_WoW_Night_Elf_Stormrage_Arlokk.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 16:34, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Really do not think Wiki should not have an article on this. Since there are user boxes out there that point to this article. --akc9000 (talk contribs count) 00:34, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Murray River Queen - deleted Artical

Ok - I can accept that.

I intended to link it to the "Paddle Steamers" category page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Paddle_steamers) But was unable to work out how to do so.

I based the article on the one for the "Alexander Arbuthnot" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Arbuthnot_%28paddle_steamer%29)

Is there a way to save a partly completed article without it being deleted, or does the whole article have to be completed in one sitting..??

My banning

You banned me as User Ferdinandhartzenberg and deleted my userpage, I was wondering why, also User:Deon Steyn called what I wrote 'garbage' and reverted my edits on the Battle of Ventersdorp page and called me JBAK.

I want him to apologise, I am not this JBAK and I don't know why you banned me.

Deleted: Dyandra

hai Lucasbfr,

based on your move to delete an archive/page about dyandra, i just want to ask to you the reason why you delete it.

dyandra is a professional exhibition organizer in Indonesia, the company have a very incredible growth over this past 6 years, so i think it deserve a page in wikipedia, just to let the rest of the world and mainly the exhibition world know that particular company is exist in Indonesia.

it will be a great honor for me if you can give me on your opinion about the importance or significant about making the company a page in wikipedia.

thank you

Using the standard "my brother did it" excuse, but stands out from other cases a bit. Account was registered several days before the vandalism spree, and while there was one bad-ish edit, I might be ready to say they were just testing things out. They've stuck around long enough that it's hard to think of this as just another throwaway account, so I thought it was worth asking: did you have any particular feelings, regarding possibly giving this one a second chance? – Luna Santin (talk) 01:50, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Murray River Queen- the continuing saga.....

G'Day and thanks for the information so far. One more question..on page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Paddle_steamers) there is a link to the "Alexander Arbuthnot" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Arbuthnot_%28paddle_steamer%29) How do I create a link the same for the Murray River Queen..?? I have looked at the edit page for Paddle_steamers but there is nothing there to edit...???

While I am at it - I based my original entry on the one for the Alexander Arbuthnot, I copied the page and changed the information under each heading, I didnt have quite as much history as the boat was built in the 70's. How much more information do I need to provide to prevent it again meeting "Criteria for speedy deletion - Very short article providing little or no context". Or is it the fact that it was not linked to the Paddle _steamer page ...???

Thanks again. RDUNC 04:25, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Footnote sequencing question

You answered my question, thanks. The page was the "Driftless Area" of Wisconsin. I was looking at the 2nd section, "Formation," and saw that the footnotes were ordered 3, 2, 4 in that section, while the top section has 1 on the first line. It looked to me like 1, 3, 2, 4,..., because I did not notice that the top section also has 2, between the two sections resulting in the series 1, 2, 3, 2, 4,..., which fits your description of the possibility of 1, 2, 3, 1, 1, 4, 3, 2,... Had I noticed the 2 earlier, I would neither have spent the time digging through the help sections, etc., nor needed to ask. At least I picked-up quite a few new tools in the process, and met a helpful person as well. Grammarmonger 17:16, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of 47th Missouri Volunteer Infantry

The information I posted in said article as a stub is originally from Dyer's Compendium of the War of the Rebellion which is free for open and public use. I took my information from http://www.civilwararchive.com/Unreghst/unmoinf4.htm . Dyer's Compendium is also catalogued as a public access and use tool by the NPS on their Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System. No copyright infringement was made, unless of course the creator of the 47thmissourinfantry.com page can legally seize Dyer's now public work. The article is a stub for now, but as with every Wikipedia article, it gets continuously worked on, so a crisp and clean presentation was in the works if there had not been a premature intervention. Why was there no discussion on the legitimacy of the content before it was deleted? Auror 19:07, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Myachi pages

The "List of all Myachis" has 'no encyclopedic content,' in your opinion... But that has little difference as compared to something such as a list of all Pepsi products. There's no problem with that, though, is there? The only real differences is the products themselves.

Not to mention, why do you hold it against me that sources are hard to come by? You're the third, maybe fourth, person I've had to try to get to realize that Myachi isn't popular. There are no books, no movies, no documentaries... Just the website, the forum... And the article I'm trying to establish. Excuse me if what little sources available aren't enough for you, but that's all we've got and it will have to suffice.

BrownsFanForLife 22:47, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

So let me get this straight...

You screw me over, because I (only 16 years old, mind you) know nothing about how this damn site works, what the heck to do on it, or why everyone is so anal on it. I paraphrase those who created Myachi, men who can easily verify everything I've quoted and paraphrased. The sole article I've created, or even contributed to, is deleted and deleted and deleted. And only when I contribute to it, do people complain about its notariety. Any other version stands for eternity, but once I edit or add to it, the complaints come pouring in.

Am I right, or is there more?

BrownsFanForLife 23:11, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for getting in touch about my creation of the above article.

It was really just as an exercise to gain some experience. I decided to randomly select something from the afc page that had been overlooked, but which I thought would probably meet Wikipedia's guidelines, then have a go at creating it. Hope this is all right.

Incidentally, while I was there, I noticed there were a few articles that are still awaiting assessment. I might start taking a look at some of these as a way of building up my editing portfolio. Thanks Brochco 13:10, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

blocking of 61.215.206.254 - inappropriate?

Please dont block this IP also, it is shared and will play nice.

It is a little confusing the blocking process, you dont get any warnings even though they are building up in your talk page - so the first time you know of any troubles you cannot respond or deal with the issue.

I am not really understanding the distinction between booksinmyphone and librevox and various other sites that let people download an authors works and are scattered through the external links. There are some differences in the medium and format and such but they are all non-commercial and seem like a good service for people, librevox lets you listen to spoken versions, bookinmyphone to read on a phone, and there seem to be plenty of others offering various other formats. Why single out this particular site?

I use things like librevox and the gutenberg computer read texts in my mp3 player when riding and also like to read off the phone on the train. I dont see many people reading on the phone - it seemed like a good thing to let people know they had the option. The more readers of PD work the better right? 218.45.243.194 13:10, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Through this breach of wikipedia codes of conduct he has demonstrated that he doesn't respect my right to edit (if wikipedia didn't want me editting then I would be banned) and therefore I fail to see why I should respect his edits.

I still am not convinced of his arguments and as a result would refrain from discussion so that others get a fair chance to evaluate the user and his contribs.
