Re: Sunfitters Beach Shop

You did say if a few "reliable secondary sources citing this shop" could be found, you would reconsider your deletion of the page. Sunfitters has more than 1700 links in Google and is cited by the following reliable secondary sources:

  • Sunfitters is a member of Shop.org, where it can be found listed with other members at http://www.shop.org/network/sponsormemlist.asp -- alongside the most notable online retail brands in the world. Shop.org is the division of the National Retail Federation.

There's more. But I hope the list above is sufficient to warrant restoring the Sunfitters Beach Shop listing in Wikipedia, alongside other retailers of its kind.

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.67.124.206 (talk) 08:57, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

information Note: this is a follow up from User_talk:Lucasbfr/Archives/10#Sunfitters_Beach_Shop. -- lucasbfr talk 10:58, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
After reviewing your sources, all but the first fail to address the notability issue (they are just directories). The first one is more interesting, but still does not assert the significance of the subject. It even says that Sunfitters is a small business. Unfortunately we aim for high inclusion criteria due to -among other things- verifiability of the provided information issues. Of course, you can request a deletion review of my decision. Thanks for your time! Vandalism

Hi! You have just blocked user:217.206.225.5 for 3 months. However you seem to have also deleted the talk page history showing all the warnings etc. I was just in the process of advising the educational IP address manager 'Mel Phillipson' of the vandalism, as you blocked Anon usage, and that information was required to show her the extent of the vandalism and time frame it has been going on for. Especially due to the racial and offensive vandalism edits. Could you please revert the page to show it. Many Thanks. Richard Harvey 11:16, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Many Thanks! Rather than revert the page cleaning, which is a good idea, I have put a link to it on the talk page above my message about the e-mail to the IP Manager. Richard Harvey 12:33, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

No Title

Hi:

I'm just learning how to use Wikipedia for a class. The article was written by me, but I saved it before I had included the reference section. It is there now. I hope this meets with your approval.

ay, be sure to check to ensure you are not reverting to a previously vandalized version as you did here. cheers Matthew Brandon Yeager 18:56, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

bad pony productions

hello there, I am new to Wikipedia and notice that you didnt have a page for Bad Pony Productions, and that it has been deleted. I would like to add info to this page and wonder how this is possible.

Thanks!

Elmer breen 04:51, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

I've got a hater on my back, already reported to vandalism. He's decided I'm a "commie" because I'm an old friend of democratic Socialist mayor Frank P. Zeidler, and is reverting my edits "on principle" because I ("commiemike" according to his edits) am a "moron" and a commie. This is a very personalized form of edit war, and you just reverted one of his POV-pushing edits yourself. Is there anything you can do here? --Orange Mike 15:49, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Well, he just noticed I've been nominated for adminship, and is chipping in as an IP! --Orange Mike 00:50, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

National Grid Service

Before you deleted National Grid Service, I had removed a G11 tag and cleaned it up a little. Maybe it wasn't prefect yet, but I think the copyrighted version had already been deleted before. Would you mind reviewing the article, its history and also its talk page. Thanks. --Tikiwont 16:07, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Barn Owl Restaurant Oldham

I believe the page should remain a sit may end up being the only reference to the Barn Owl Restaurant should the LSC decide it should be shut down. It is included in Wikipedia as I believe that the students need easy access to information regarding the proposed shutdown, and whatr better placew to achieve this than in Wikipedia. Also the restaurant remains in the news as a topic close to the hearts of many Oldhamers including ex-pats.

I intend to create links to relevant news items if the item remains.

Please re-consider deletion.

Thank you

Image:United Airlines Flight 175.jpg

It's not the rationale of Image:United Airlines Flight 175.jpg that I'm contesting. It's the invalid license tag: that does not look like a web screenshot; that looks like a photograph. It's also unsourced. —C.Fred (talk) 15:45, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

deleting pictures

hi

i would like to know what the reason is for your deletion of 2 pictures i uploaded last night?

first of all, the supersweet screen grab. a friend of mine works for supersweet magazine and i was trying to contribute to the explanation of their new site by having a picture to accompany it. what is wrong with that? i have their permission to do it.

and the second picture is the picture of nick jago. who's a friend of mine too and i have stumbled upon his page and was just trying to help by having a photograph to go with his page. choltida is a friend of mine and she took this photograph and has given me permission to use it too.

if there's good reasons for this, i wouldn't mind at all. it's not helping to promote friends' work. it's just that i thought seeing their stuff that's already on there and i'd just like to help and contribute and make things look a little better so other people can know what they are better visually.

thank you, mf —Preceding unsigned comment added by Matthewflag (talkcontribs)

unblock decline

Hi... regarding this [2] (I agree with the block, aside from the CU considerations, the userid is a vandal) and the unblock decline), in future it may be better to just point to WP:RFCU or m:checkuser because technically, it's not a way to prove anything, only to increase our confidence that there is or isn't a relationship. It's not a perfect tool and we should be careful not to position it as such... ++Lar: t/c 16:45, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

(Refactored from User_talk:Lar per my policy) - noted :) On the other hand I was only replying to his question ("What on Earth is checkuser, seriously."). He was quacking so loud that I didn't want to waste any more seconds on this decline since jpgordon obviously ran a test on him. But I'll be more careful on my wordings next time. -- lucasbfr talk 18:26, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Cool beans. Most definitely agree about not wasting much time. I should put up some .js for a standard message... :) ++Lar: t/c 19:46, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Mmm that's an idea. I got a page with boilerplate messages, but none on checkusers unfortunately :) -- lucasbfr talk 20:39, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
See that refactor notice up there in front of "noted"? That's a product my latest .js, (not fully debugged yet). I waste time on all sorts of .js stuff :). So ya. ++Lar: t/c 12:19, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Lasileuka

Hello! You speedily deleted the article Lasileuka that I was working on. I realize some articles without substance need be deleted, but may I ask that you please at least search for a movie on IMDb before you speedily delete an article about it. If you still see the need for deletion of a IMDb listed (and award winning) movie please take it to WP:AfD. Another way might be using the Template:Prod and giving the main contributor a heads up. As a courtesy. Some people put a great amout of time into editing and don't appreciate seeing the work deleted without the least concern. --Bensin (talk) 23:29, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Replied on this user's talk page - 23:33, 19 November 2007
OK. I think the award alone make it a notable enough film from Finland. I am aware that admins mean well when they delete articles, but personally I believe that speedily deletion can be reserved for harmful information and outright spam. I think many editors appreciate the use of the template I mentioned above. That gives them a fair chance to improve the article enough before a final decision is made. Please have a look at the article and make any improvements you see fit :-) --Bensin (talk) 23:51, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Replied on this user's talk page - 00:06, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
I think I'll leave it as it is now. The award is listed on the films entry on IMDb and that should be enough. Thank for the tip though. I, in turn, thank you for your help editing the encyclopedia :-) --Bensin (talk) 00:16, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Barnstar'd!

The Original Barnstar
I was just checking out unblock-en-l, after my too-long absence, and I saw that things look to have been a bit of a ghost-town, over there, recently. I've seen you several times, over the past few days, always bringing a positive and productive presence, at AN/I, on IRC, vandalism patrolling, and you're even doing a bangup job holding together unblock-en-l all by your lonesome self, for a while. You've contributed a lot to the community, in the many months I've been happy to see you around, and I hope you continue this tradition of excellence in the future. This classic barnstar is the least I can offer. Thank you. – Luna Santin (talk) 12:03, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Cleanup thanks, delete wars on William Herbert Wallace?

Thanks for cleaning up the blanking of my userpage. There seems to be a low-intensity deletion war happening on William Herbert Wallace, originating with what is probably one user on BT Internet (netname=BT-CENTRAL-PLUS, descr="IP pools"). It's been happening for the past few months, and beyond some userpage deletions and personal attacks, there's been no real feedback from the person or persons involved. Is there anything that can be done about this other than a) laughing and ignoring it, b) moaning about it on the dynamic IP's talk page, to no effect?
