I'm feeling pretty lost on something. I see [1] you placed a redirect and said "restore redirect". That history shows there was never a redirect. You then threatened to request a block [2] for basically undoing your redirect, making it seem like the redirect had been there for a long time. Something is wacky and I'm not sure what it is. Help? Hobit (talk) 04:42, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

Food porn
Hobit, Look a bit further into the article's history and you'll see the redirect. I PRODed the article way back and meant to take it to AfD, but forgot. It should be a redirect unless better refs appear. However, I think Praxidicae was a bit bitey on Hazelslettering's talk page. She needs mentorship, not a block, IMHO. --Slashme (talk) 04:51, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm still lost. It was changed from a redirect with this edit [3] back in 2019 yes? It has been an article since. I'm fine with a PROD or shipping it to AfD, but this feels off. Also concerned by the single-purpose account jumping in. Whole thing just feels weird. Hobit (talk) 05:09, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
I guess "restore redirect" was probably intended to mean "I restored the redirect that was there a while ago instead of this dodgy article" while you took it to mean "I restored the redirect that has recently been removed", which would clearly have been disingenuous. Whether Hogohit is an SPA or not remains to be seen: it's still a very new account. --Slashme (talk) 07:29, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
it was hijacked. Period. By multiple SPAs who are blocked. What is the issue here? Praxidicae (talk) 11:25, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
Praxidicae, FYI posted a COI notice to their page. Nick has given a formal warning about their editing. Glen (talk) 11:51, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

Request for Comment

Hi Praxidicae,

I am very grateful that you have been helping me learning about Wikipedia overtime, sometimes by critical feedback or discipline actions. (that's when I learn it the hard way.) But I genuinely respect your efforts and teaching.

I recently put out a Request for Comment to ask people's opinions regarding the upcoming features for WikiLoop DoubleCheck, with respect to levels mechanism of its reviewers. I assume this could potentially be controversial and I want make sure it's design in the right way. My guts feeling is that you have been reviewing edits (with your own approach and tools). You might provide a very good angle to spot some flaws in the proposal. I like to leave you a very personal message soliciting your comments. Thank you! xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 22:56, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae. Relating your this revert, the anonymous user had came back and added the same content. Besides, he or she added extra promotional first party sources which was mentioned on the talk page. It seems like the user only wants the promote this prosedure, spesifically, the doctor. Can you please do something? Because I am really tired of that situation. Regards.--Nanahuatl (talk) 04:56, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

As you can see... Thanks for the effort, have a great day.--Nanahuatl (talk) 07:42, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

Deletion request for pages and media created ny Gaurakshat1

I don't know how to edit this really, till date I have not received any compensation for any of the pages I have edited, Ayaz Ismail as he is my friend and consider him like my brother, I am nephew of Harish Sharma (author), Nirmika SIngh is also a friend if I receive any monetary compensation, I will not hide this, all my edits have been really honest and genuine, request you to please take them back and restore as created. I am really sorry if there's any confusion, I am just a honest man trying to help people I know, with what little I know — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gaurakshat1 (talkcontribs) 16:58, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

I nominated a couple of BLPs on non-notable figures for deletion yesterday, but they were prematurely closed by a user. I believe the BLPs do not meet GNG and could be paid job. What your opinion on my nominations? --Saqib (talk) 13:34, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

@Saqib: I don't particularly agree with Eggishorn's closure and rationale. You might want to continue the discussion at this sub-thread. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 14:44, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

I don't agree either but I'm also not in a place right now to deal with any fall out from it. Praxidicae (talk) 14:45, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Is there a discrete way of dealing with UPE that does not involve being accused of outing or aspersions Keeping my opinion to myself about this instance. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 14:50, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Upe is not ,AFAIK, a deletion criterion. My problem with UPE is it often results in poor quality (as opposed to high quality) ARTSPAM. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 14:52, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
@Saqib: You need to either provide convincing evidence, or drop your accusations of paid editing. I'm in possession of some disturbing off-wiki material that suggests you are engaged in a campaign of harrassment against another editor, so I strongly suggest you keep away from them and from their contributions to Wikipedia. If there's any problem with their contribitions, leave it to someone else. (I'm actually very tempted just to block you for harrassment right now, but I'm holding off as others are investigating the same off-wiki material.) (I've struck that part, as it is not a fair comment at this point) Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:59, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
I understand tensions are high around this and I haven't got a clue what evidence there is but may I ask that this conversation happen somewhere that isn't my talk page? If I came across at least one of these articles while doing NPP (which in fact I did, but skipped over), I'd probably have nominated Wrenn for deletion myself but it's a moot point. I don't want to get any further involved in this. Thanks for understanding. Praxidicae (talk) 15:06, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
@Boing! said Zebedee: I did not sent any e-mail to Memon KutianaWala and never had any off-wiki correspondence with him, either. I'm waiting for you to share with me the "disturbing off-wiki material". E-mail me here. --Saqib (talk) 17:01, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

Whats your opinion with this?

I was checking the page Dinesh Sudarshan Soi, and in the page the reference which looks most reliable, actually seems like a Paid section of Hindustan Times, if you check the Link you can see the Disclaimer at the end of the article. which clearly indicates towards the ref being a puff piece. and rest references too looks like a part of churnalism, What say!? Speedy deletion

Hello, Wondering why you deleted the Thomas DeMark I was trying to reference that page to a new page and there wasn't any intended changes to the Thomas DeMark page.

Promotion

Sorry, but why is this promotion if I am using official source to cite at least ONE author that is addressing this topic? If you want, then I can cite official sources from academia, which is actually used in this nice summary by Davis. I really ask you to reconsider you speedy undo and give the update article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pressure_point) another try OR I will do it. LS (talk) 15:33, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Do not reinstate the content. We have strict policies on WP:OR and WP:V. Citing some random person in the field isn't suitable and is promotion. Praxidicae (talk) 15:33, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
And it's not compliant with WP:MEDRS. Praxidicae (talk) 15:34, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Please help restore Thomas DeMark page

Hello Prax, I'm a novice Wiki user and was referencing Thomas DeMark while trying to help create a new Wiki page for a company of his that didn't already have a Wiki. I didn't mean or intend to make any changes to Thomas DeMark. Will you please help me restore the page? I understand the text I used for Symbolik was from their website and could've been interpreted as promotional so I'll have to read more before creating a Symbolik wiki page.

Thank you! -Kris — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kreid913 (talkcontribs) 15:36, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Kreid913 I believe you really need to read WP:COI. Praxidicae (talk) 15:37, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for your quick response Prax, I don't have any conflict of interest WP:COI. Please advise how I can help correct this deletion of Thomas DeMark. Much appreciated for your insights! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kreid913 (talkcontribs) 15:40, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Prax, I've reread through WP:COI. Please advise where you see an issue. Kreid913 (talk) 15:48, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Please, please stop repeatedly demanding a response. One edit requesting a response is enough. Things take time and I am busy doing other things. I cannot undelete articles and I would oppose any undeletion of DeMark's article. You can read about contesting deletions on the notification on your talk page. Praxidicae (talk) 15:49, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
And let me reiterate - you need to re-read WP:COI and possibly WP:PAID. Any connection to the subject, as in, perhaps an employer or close friend, is a COI. Praxidicae (talk) 15:50, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Understood Prax, my contributions to Thomas DeMark aren't in alignmnet with WP:PAID or WP:COI and there weren't any intended edits to [Thomas DeMark]]. Kreid913 (talk) 15:57, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

So you are saying definitively that you have never been affiliated with DeMark or his business in any manner? Praxidicae (talk) 15:57, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Prax, I read his books (among many other market technicians) while in college and when I see articles on Bloomberg/CNBC I check to see if they've been added to the Wiki. Thomas DeMark was on CNBC tv yesterday. Kreid913 (talk) 16:23, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Looking at your draft, I can see the rationale in the decline message still applies. Please follow the links and familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines before you try to submit again. However, since the subject of your article Draft:Ahmed Alneaimy does not appear to be notable, I do not see your draft getting accepted. User:Praxidicae no i'm not saying i'm paid i never said this, i said i saw you can take money for pages.--Adamshahin (talk) 17:46, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
Prax, I think he was offering you a bribe. "I can see people take money for pages so I'll give you anything you want." Unfortunately for the user, that is not how Wikipedia works at all. Whenever we see content where it looks like someone was paid to write about someone or something, we have it deleted. There are plenty of other websites out there that will allow you to promote people or businesses. This is not one of them. Adamshahin, Praxidicae already said that they will not be responding to any further comment on this page. I suggest you let this go. Bkissin (talk) 17:53, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
i didn't say from my self he can take money he said this literally ""I'd get my money back in that case. Please stop editing the article in such a disruptive manner. Thanks"" in Archive 14 with Head line hello HERE. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adamshahin (talkcontribs) 17:57, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
@Adamshahin: You notice how the rest of us are referring to Praxidicate as "she"? You'd do well to actually read the discussions you're participating in. Speedy deletion for Rafik Al Hariri Illustrator

I have fixed the sentences that sounded like promotion. Can you fix it now? I am sure it is not promotional as I am only shortlisting his work. He is a notable artist in Lebanon but I added illustrator to his name since a Politian has his name... I think he should have a biography on Wikipedia because he is notable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manar Wehbe (talkcontribs) 16:48, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

Hello, once again! I have another question I'd appreciate you could answer this time. I'm really trying to understand how an article like Richard Lehman (surgeon) is still on Wikipedia, when it has very few sources and not even well formatted references, while an article like this gets deleted. Please answer me. Bad Boy97 (talk) 13:07, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Because one is nothing but an advert and the other has actual sources. Also read WP:OTHERSTUFF. If the other article should be deleted, nominate it for deletion. We don't continuing add more garbage to the pile because there's already garbage on the floor. Praxidicae (talk) 13:08, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
There are many hundred thousand articles in WP accepted in earlier years when the standards were lower that we need to either upgrade or remove. We are rmeoving them as fast as we can, but the least we can do is not add to them. DGG ( talk ) 23:15, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Macntaj

Hi Praxidicae,

I got your message. Can you help me understand why it was nominated for deletion? I am not involved with the artist in any way, nor was I hired for the writing of it; I just am passionate about music and have been attempting articles about indie artists I like. What can I do to make sure my article isn't deleted? Do I need to fix the sources, or any of the neutral voice/content?

KaylynBuckley (talk) 20:08, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi Bkissin, I'm new here and see you gave some helpful feedback to another user above. Would you be willing to take a peek at the article I've been working on as well? Thank you! :)KaylynBuckley (talk) 22:14, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
I'll take a look if it's still up. It can be tough for indie bands (especially those written by fans) because the tone can come across as promotional. That may have been what tipped off Prax. The other problem is that WP:NBAND (Wikipedia's notability criteria for music groups) lays out for reviewers what qualifies for an article and what is just someones garage band.

So, I'll try to take a look and give you a better sense if and when I can. Bkissin (talk) 23:29, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

You told an editor to ask a question about the interaction between GNG and NSPORTS at the sports notability talk page, and said it was already being discussed there. Did you mean that there is an ongoing discussion about the interaction between GNG and NSPORTS, or that that is the place where such a discussion can be held? I understood that you were getting reasonably impatient with an editor who, for some reason, was asking an annoyingly long list of questions, and who might have an ulterior agenda. But I want to be involved in any discussion about how to deal with any conflict between GNG and NSPORTS, and I didn't see an active discussion there. So either I missed it, or you were telling them to stop bothering us. Thank you. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:19, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

looking in, I think we have over the last 13 years settled the relationship between the sports notability guideline and the GNG, but we have settled it in opposite ways at different times, and often inconsistently for different sports. No consensus has held for long, or escaped continual challenge. The only advice I could give about an article on someone who met one but not the other, is to accept it at AfC, making it clear that it will be challenged at AfD, and that the result is unpredictable. Assumed misunderstanding regarding BISP

Hi Praxidicae,

I quote the edit history of Benazir Income Support Programme. I think there's been a misunderstanding and undid your edit.

Undid revision 977861836 by Wiki id2 (talk) cnn is reliable, no reason it should be removed and it doesn't address NPOV at all.

"no reason it should be removed" while in the process of undoing my edit lead to the exact opposite i.e. removal of the material. I believe the edit is useful because it comments on the significance of the BISP as a social safety net provision compared to other social welfare programmes in Pakistan. I did not remove the referenced material I merely restored it and noted that another editor had removed referenced material. Hence I stated "removal of referenced material noted"

I don't intend to get involved in an edit war over this. If you'd like to discuss this further please mention here, on my talk page or the BISP talk page where others can discuss whether this contribution is useful.

(Wiki id2(talk) 16:08, 11 September 2020 (UTC))

Also, I'm a little perplexed by your statement that 'CNN is reliable' - I never said CNN wasn't reliable. I just undid the edit of someone who removed both the material and the CNN reference. (Wiki id2(talk) 16:22, 11 September 2020 (UTC))

Questions

I am not sure whether of not unpaid interns count as paid editors. I don;'t recall a decision., and I am not sure on which side I would vote if there were a discussion now. ~ Of course, we cannot really figure out if an intern is paid or unpaid, but we have always AGF with people claiming no paid coi in the absence of actual evidence DGG ( talk )

I have evidence to the contrary (and have emailed it to ArbCom) in this case, it definitely applies as the policy very clearly states Interns, on-loan staff, and unpaid workers, including volunteers, are deemed to be employees. If they are directed or expected to edit Wikipedia as part of their tasks, they must make a paid-contribution disclosure. Praxidicae (talk) 19:56, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
can you think of a better word than paid. , then ?

Q2. I do not think G4 can be used to delete a draft. WP:CSD seems clear about that. And it wouldn't make sense, because that's the way to go about making a possibly satisfactory article. DGG ( talk ) 20:11, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Not quite sure what you're getting at here. I didn't g4 their draft...Praxidicae (talk) 20:13, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
G4 can be used to delete a draft that was previously deleted from draft space via MFD. You are right that it will not delete a draft if the original deletion was an article via AFD. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:19, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) @DGG: They're paid in experience, in favorable performance evals, in referrals and references, in exposure. The world is full of slave/indentured/peonage labor. Interns are just a variant. (My brother was an intern. Ha!) --Deepfriedokra (talk) 20:20, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

User:DGG, User:Praxidicae - I agree that unpaid interns are a form of paid editors, but will also comment that another class of paid editors who must make the paid editing declaration even if they do not receive wages are the volunteer trustees (corporate directors) of non-profit organizations. They may be paid in that they are trying to minimize the amount of cash that they feel obligated to donate to the organization. They must also declare. Robert McClenon (talk) 05:07, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
there is a key difference between being paid in money, and being paid in anything non-transferable. For one thing, being paid in money is certain and quantifiable. If a relative tells me, if you value our family relationsip, write an article on me, am I a paid editor? I'm certainly a COI editor, but am I actually a Paid editor? Supposeit's my old rich uncle whom I hope will leaveme an inheritance. Does this make it different? My view remains, that money is something specially pernicious. DGG ( talk ) 05:19, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
DGG, I disagree with you. An intern receives things of value, including recommendations, professional connections, evaluations, commendations and a feather to add to their resumé. This type of editor is highly motivated to please their corporate bosses, and should make the declaration. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:29, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
@Cullen328: Had not thought of trustees, but yeah. And "in kind" consideration is very much a consideration that makes one WP:PAID. Don't know about now, but when I was involved in that sort of thing, one was required to declare "in kind" campaign contributions just like monetary ones. That they are non monetary made no difference. Same principle here. Any quid-pro-quo arrangement involving editing Wikipedia should be declared. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 09:05, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
I've written about my own neighborhood; I would benefit from increased home values there. I haven't specifically indicated on the article itself, and I don't keep a list of articles I've contributed to outside my automatic edit history. In my case, I have disclosed several times on WP just what my neighborhood is. But I also have a right to not disclose on WP where I live. But if I even said I have a COI about this article, I would in effect be disclosing it. Similarly, if I am an employee of X and want to insert something sourced but critical about X in that article, I don't have to declare the specific COI--but even I just say COI, the boss might well figure things out. We basically are making an exception to the rule of anonymity for PAID, and I think it is necessary to do so to preserve the integrity of the encyclopedia . But every time we expand the meaning of PAID. we compromise it further. The example from politics is different: in the US, there is by law no anonymity for political contributions. But partisan electionsare totally different from a NPOV encyclopedia . We have enoguh problems with the actual paid editors, and money is a very clear dividing point. GeneralNotability, thanks! I was somewhat involved with the last sock so tried to keep an arms length on this one. Appreciated. Glen (talk) 18:07, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

For what it's worth, I really really think this is the result of UPE. The article's creator only made a few more than enough other (minor, noncontroversial) edits at first to get autoconfirmed, then made this article, and has since made a few other minor edits on random articles and tried to citekill this one. Given that the cites are mostly pretty fishy PR-type hits, it's hard to come to any other conclusion. Of course, I don't know how you'd actually prove that, but I think you deal with this stuff a lot more than I do, so I thought I'd at least give you the heads-up. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • [ Vorbis|videos]]) 17:20, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

I agree and thanks for staunchly advocating this in the discussion Deacon Vorbis. It's my "birthday weekend" and I've not got the time or energy to dissect each source to show this, so thanks for your help! Praxidicae (talk) 23:00, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae, I think this might be a better candidate for AFD than CSD? The article has been reborn after deletion and has a number of problems, but the author seems to have added some references that show notability. I feel that this is a borderline case which may benefit from some discussion. --Salimfadhley (talk) 14:23, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

Given it's history, I don't agree. It's virtually the same as the last one that the creator had g4'd. Praxidicae (talk) 14:23, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
Cool, given that you are aware of the context I will stay out of the matter. --Salimfadhley (talk) 14:40, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae. I noticed that you tagged Jamison Creek Road for G5 deletion even though the article creator has not yet been blocked as a sock. (The account is an obvious duck, but still.) I’m not sure what happened with this Draft:Newton Arunaye, Probably, I was moving to draft in the same time you applied CSD A7 or I was just plain sloppy. Either way I screwed this one up. Celestina007 15:02, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Adolf Hitler and vegetarianism

Hello with all due respect, I have major issues with this article and its reliability. My first reason for requesting deletion of the this page is due to the fact that it has been Hitler's vegetarian background has been disproven by credible sources. Such as PETA which I listed in my request [6]

There are also many other reliable sources from websites like this [7]

And like this [8]

My second reason is why there needs to be a separate article about this in the first place. As most people have said, even if Hitler was a vegetarian, which I highly doubt, his "colleagues" used hearsay evidence. There is no concrete evidence for this to make a whole article.

So which is a more reliable source to you, those who allegedly knew him, or empire companies such as PETA and journalists? Emo524 (talk) 16:49, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

If you think the article should be deleted, take it to AFD. Praxidicae (talk) 16:50, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Okay, so then why did you oppose the deletion request? Emo524 (talk) 16:54, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Hello Praxidicae, I received your message on my Talk page. I am definitely not being paid to write or edit on Wikipedia. I am from Passaic (I no longer live there though) but I definitely thought that providing more information to the community about their mayor would be a good thing, especially since we are underrepresented in Wikipedia. Thank you so much for bringing this issue up and I commend your attention. Does this mean that I cannot write further about Passaic and its people? culture? government? Or do you have any suggestions that might help me improve the article so they don't believe it is self-promotion? Thank you, LMPAJ (talk) 00:32, 26 September 2020 (UTC)LMPAJ

Claims of making a threat

Before accusing me of making a threat please be advised that under most laws in most jurisdictions you have a right to make a complaint, voice a concern or a criticism. Trying to label a complaint as a threat does not wash. You try in a court of law to justify that idiotic administrator who you laughably call experienced, behaviour. Believe me once I find out how how a complaint will be made as it's morally to besmirch a individuals name simply because you disagree with his point of view. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FredC69 (talkcontribs)

Eric Early article

Hello Praxi! You added a speedy deletion tag on the article I created for Eric Early. First of all, I want to say that I very much think you're #SayTheirNames background is important and Wikipedia editors should be doing more for Black Americans killed by police. I also want to thank you for starting a discussion around the article, which I was wondering about the reception of. If in any way my article came across as promotional of Early, that was a mistake I must take responsibility for; I do not like Eric Early, I find his policies to be harmful and not based in fact, and I in no way wish to promote him. I went in detail about this in contesting the deletion on the article's Talk page, but I really came to ask for your advice. I take great care in trying to create good, balanced, unbiased articles: what can I do better on this one? What were the parts that you felt needed improvement? Thanks so much for your time. Request on 02:30:09, 19 October 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Gobbizlive

Hi:

Thank you for your time. Per the notes on the previous review, my latest article submission was supported by multiple references including articles in The Source Magazine, ThisIs50, HipHopSince1987 and Yahoo News among several others. All were independent of the subject and published in credible news publications and were not merely passing mentions. I wanted to know why these references do not qualify as acceptable media coverage? I looked at the guides on Wikipedia as well as published articles of other similar subjects to get examples of acceptable references, and the ones I included were of the same type even down to the specific publications that were cited as references for several published Wikipedia articles.

“Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself.[note 1]”

From the reasons described for declination, I’m unclear how the references provided do not meet the above guideline especially considering the cited sources are independent and authoritative on the subject matter, providing in-depth coverage on the subject that can be verified.

Please clarify so that I can make specific revisions. Again, thank you for tour time.

Now I understand I thought those reference weren't saved, feel free to delete if it's isn't suitable for Wikipedia, maybe any other editor can work on it if it meets Wikipedia notability criteria. Thanks. But hey don't be that harsh Lynndonald (talk) 14:15, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

It doesn't, which is why I gave you the courtesy of working on it in draft space, but you chose not to. So now it will be discussed for 7 days and kept or deleted. Praxidicae (talk) 14:16, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

Okay fine, I will keep on editing hopefully if i can add some links to it before the seven days Grace period, thanks by the way. Lynndonald (talk) 14:53, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

And I can give you an article here on wiki that only source to LinkedIn, it's homepage, and Google play store, and it's still on the mainspace for years it doesn't meet notability guidelines, it only have tag that calls for improvement am referring to InfoKora check your self, am thinking soccerhub it should remain there with issues tags, just as the reference article. Lynndonald (talk) 15:04, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) Thanks for bringing that to my attention, LynnDonald. I'll make sure that gets listed for deletion. Bkissin (talk) 15:45, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

One Quick Question

Hello and thank you for your contributions and feedback. I have added over 12 sources to the wikipedia page Dj Vin, however after saving and publishing it, only 4 sources remain. Can this be a internal issue or something incorrect with my procedures? Thank you and I am looking forward to hearing back! - Adam

It's not an error, I removed them as they are black hat SEO and unreliable. Praxidicae (talk) 13:54, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

I am not paid by Dj Vin

I am from the Toronto area and I am interested in writing about musicians and those who have suffered from police brutality here. I am new to Wikipedia and I would like to have this article approved first so I won't make similar mistakes to future articles I create. Also in regards to you removing the articles, how did you determine that they are bad SEO websites? And thank you for the feedback. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AdamS20206 (talkcontribs) 15:24, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

DJ Sly moved to Draft

Hi I would like to know which exact sources are not worthy to be used in my article. Most of the sources I used are websites and independent articles. Can you shed more light on why exactly it was moved to draft please?

Tims178 (talk) 09:54, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Tims178

(talk page stalker) Tims178 Please take a look at the description of the sources which we use to establish notability in the general notability guideline. It calls for sources which are secondary, independent and reliable, and which give the subject significant depth of coverage. I just took a look at the draft, and I'm afraid I can't see any sources that tick all those boxes. DjSly.net is the subject's own website - that's not independent, and neither is his YouTube or soundcloud channels. Pulse.com, GhanaWeb and ventlabgh are all reprinting the same press release from his music company - they're not independent (WP:PRSOURCE). Apple Music is selling his music - it's not independent. That just leaves a few lists nominees for awards, where he is mentioned but there is no significant depth of coverage - it's just a name on a list. A few better sources, that tick all the relevant boxes, are needed - you don't need lots, just two or three is usually enough, but I'm not seeing any at that article. Hi, Praxidicae! Can you take a look at X-Cart? It really looks like using Wikipedia as an advertising platform for a non-notable company--2601:1C0:CB01:2660:8963:48A2:24F3:4883 (talk) 16:54, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Your feedback "Managing a Conflict of Interest"

Hello @Praxidicae: ,

I am addressing the concerns outlined in the talk space on my page.

My expertise. My contributions are based on my expertise in academic research as a Subject Matter Expert. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subject-matter_expert I’m a leading business scholar and a generalist who is asked to provide my perspective in many academic settings. I am, for example, one of five scholars in the world who are Fellows of the Association for Consumer Research, the American Marketing Association, and the American Psychological Association’s Society for Consumer Psychology. And I have served on the faculties of leading business schools of the world, and therefore have broad knowledge of business scholarship.

My motives. I, like many others, are trying to create and contribute to help build an encyclopedia. My contributions are related to business research, and my edits and additions have all highlighted the significant and meaningful contributions of researchers from a variety of backgrounds relevant to business academia and society as a whole. I am not a promotions person writing about a book. I am not a company and I am not a single purpose editor.

My path to writing the articles in question began when, as a user, I searched Wikipedia for some quick reference related to something I wanted to share with a non-expert. I consistently discovered that Wikipedia articles were wrong in my view in various ways, or inexpert. I began by adding my contributions to those articles. In the course of doing that, I also saw that there were Wikipedia stub pages on various business scholars whose work I knew, but no pages on other equally prominent and important scholars. So my increasing engagement with writing and editing Wikipedia articles is based on a genuine desire to be a part of the solution -- much in the same way as I agree to be on editorial boards, to write promotion and tenure reviews, to organize academic-practitioner conferences. I get zero compensation for my contributions and my motives are public service.

Conflict of interest. I understand the high level concerns about conflict of interest, but the tension here is that the people most expert are in the same field. In my case, I am writing about topics where I am highly knowledgeable. Too many articles in Wikipedia related to my field do not read as if a true expert wrote them. I say nothing that is not 100% factual. As a relative Wikipedia novice, however, I am still learning about issues that are causing flags. The need to demonstrate that a scholar is noteworthy is leading me to add content about awards received for work. That in turn is getting flags for the article being perceived as promotional. I am trying (unsuccessfully) to strike a balance between a) adding content to allow a non-expert in the field to conclude that the work is truly noteworthy, b) avoiding any perception that I am “puffing” the significance of work by giving factual citations to external recognition, and c) adding useful wikipedia content for readers -- my reason for doing this in the first place. My inexperience in balancing a) and b) for the Wikipedia editing community is obviously getting in the way of my achieving c).

In regards to “Still Going” I was gathering information to address the issue with the Joseph Alba page. I was not paid to create the page and did so simply on my respect for his research contributions. He is one of the most important marketing scholars and consumer researchers in the world. I am still working on the response with Praxidicae but was trying to apply what suggestions were offered to the additional contributions.

Going forward I would appreciate the opportunity to edit collaboratively to ensure that the content is coming from a neutral tone with citations to reliable, third party sources. If it would help I can also add information to the talk pages to clarify the intentions behind the creation of a page that highlights research or the author.

I would still like to contribute to gaps in knowledge related to research in business and consumer financial decision making. JglynchatCU (talk) 17:40, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Your response is more likely to be read if it's concise. Right now, I haven't got a clue what you're talking about but you do have a COI and you do need to disclose that. Even if you're an SME, you also need to provide reliable sources, not just your word on the matter. Praxidicae (talk) 17:42, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

If you feel, the author should not be given due credit, kindly remove the wiki common links, which is included as a reference, before spamming it. Vasudharini (talk) 19:11, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

And please search Maha Sastha vijayam, and look up to the videos and interviews on the subject, before randomly removing something which is more verified. Wikipedia should not host copywright information, the whole article on the diety is copywrighted as the author holds the complete details. Vasudharini (talk) 19:14, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

Provide a source for the copyright violation. Praxidicae (talk) 19:14, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for getting involved last night. The whole thing blew up while I was dreaming of Kate Bush and other pleasant stuff and came as something of a cold water wakeup!!! Looking back over the edits, one could perhaps have seen it coming but up until the final explosion it all just seemed like another Wikiday! Anyway, here's a virtual beer (ginger, if you don't do the alcohol thing). Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 03:18, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Repeatedly trying to delete Sastha Aravind.

Can you please provide a specific information, rather than citing about credibility in general.

Another editor also had the same discussion and she was convinced. If you can provide one source that is much related to the author, I am willingly allowing this delete to happen.

And, it is just a draft, it is not even a main article, in that case, why are we not looking at improving it? Vasudharini (talk) 14:21, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

I think as good editors, we should be reading the whole thing more carefully before coming to conclusions. Vasudharini (talk) 14:22, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Deep apology of my erratic behavior

Dear Praxidicae;

I would like to deeply regret of what I have done, and I am terribly sorry for my erratic behavior. I know I should have logged in before I do some edits, but nevertheless, I acted bad, I was swearing and threatening you and Alexandermcnabb. I just want to apologize for the two of you, for my uncivilized behavior. Now I am not expecting you to forgive me, I just want to apologize, and move on.

Thank you. Ramy5077 (talk) 09:48, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae, hope you are well. Two years ago, you redirected Alaskan Salmon War, with the summary not sure this warrants a stand alone article. I've recreated the article at Pacific Salmon War. Hi Prax, I hope all is well. Do you know if the current version of the Los Angeles Tribune is a spam site? The Los Angeles Tribune has not been in existence since the 60's when it as one of the very first African American papers. Some SEO firm decided to take the name and operate as if it's legitimate, so tl;dr no it's a fake news site. Praxidicae (talk) 15:43, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
