A beer for you!

Chill man! Help me out! Lubnarizvi (talk) 15:28, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks I do love beers, I would suggest for now beefing up the article, this deletion discussion lasts at least 7 days, you may want to voluntarily move it to your sandbox where it can remain indefinitely until it's ready and you have all the time to work on it. As it is I am not sure it meets the guidelines for notability. I'm sorry it isn't personal just what the policies dictate. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 15:31, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Chicken Kiev speech

I see you are invovled with WP:Article Rescue Squadron from your well deserved ARS awards, so I feel like we can have a good discussion about the speedy deletion tag you added to the article I created, Chicken Kiev speech. Please see the talk page rational for why this article should exist, and please consider removing the tag. thank you. Spoildead (talk) 15:31, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Well the nice thing is that by claiming it's notable you have just stopped the speedy deletion processes. Nice loophole but it doesn't let you off the hook completely. Is there sources we can add to this to show it had a historical impact? Compare it to this Barack Obama speech to Clinton Global Initiative, 2012 article and look at the AFD if you're confident you can show it is a bit different I'll happily help you out. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 15:37, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
instead of putting me on the "hook", ARSer, why not help build the article?
Don't take credit for how good this article is now. You deserve none, because you added nothing to the article.
How many potentially good articles have you took part in deleting? How many potentionally wonderful, fledgling new editors have you alienated in the past?
Spoildead (talk) 16:36, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
Wow, that sounds like a resounding personal attack and definitely not assuming good faith. Maybe I misunderstood you? At any rate if you choose not to come back here after you asked here, that's not my issue. At any rate I acted perfectly within policy and in good faith when you approached me attempted to answer your concerns with some of mine. If you decide to run off and return in a tantrum I can hardly be held to blame for your lack of follow through. Also I don't recall taking credit for anything and if you notice those awards you are referencing were given to me by others and not to myself and it's worth noting those weren't the authors that had created the articles.Hell In A Bucket (talk) 16:53, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

A double beer for you!

Cheers! Like I said, I do not know much about the wikipedia. I can provide you with the links so that you can edit it. What will happen after 7 days. I am totally dumb you see. Lubnarizvi (talk) 15:35, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Here's a fyi too, you can add a new section without the wikilove by clicking the new section button or the edit button above the section you created to add to an existing section, it will make the record of our discussion easier to follow if another editor sees and wants to help you too. And the AFD (Article for deletion) discussion runs seven days generally before any decision is made so you will have that time to continue working on the article and even then if you still believe it has potential and it was deleted you can as the deleting/closing admin to mover it to your userspaace which will allow you to continue work on it there without loss of the effort you've done so far. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 15:44, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Why don't you edit it?

Thank you very much! You are a really very helpful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lubnarizvi (talkcontribs) 15:49, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

ok next piece of advise sign your posting with 4~'s in a row it will date time and sign your posts 8). The main issue I see here is the lack of sources we can use to add to the article. In the past I've been able to find sources for other articles but in the majority of them they were mostly english based. If memory serves this is someone that works on the other side of the globe? If there are sources in other languages showing her notability you can add those in and that might help. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 15:55, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Lubnarizvi (talk) 14:02, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

I'm willing to help you but we need to make sure that it can meet this critera
1. The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources.
2. The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level.
3. The person is or has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association (e.g., a National Academy of Sciences or the Royal Society) or a Fellow of a major scholarly society for which that is a highly selective honor (e.g., the IEEE).
4. The person's academic work has made a significant impact in the area of higher education, affecting a substantial number of academic institutions.
5. The person holds or has held a named chair appointment or "Distinguished Professor" appointment at a major institution of higher education and research (or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon).
6. The person has held a highest-level elected or appointed academic post at a major academic institution or major academic society.
7. The person has made substantial impact outside academia in their academic capacity.
8. The person is or has been the head or chief editor of a major well-established academic journal in their subject area.
9. The person is in a field of literature (e.g writer or poet) or the fine arts (e.g., musician, composer, artist), and meets the standards for notability in that art, such as WP:CREATIVE or WP:MUSIC.

Can you help me help you? Right now I'm not sure it meets the criteria. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 16:07, 4 December 2012 (UT)
Yes, She has written a book as you can see in the article. It is on amazon as well and on her website. She is a lecturer and many awards has been awarded to her but these are not by UNO? These are mainly from Iran and Iraq since she is a notable figure there. Like I said I have no idea but you can google her and find out more. Now I am relying on you entirely. Help!!!! Lubnarizvi (talk) 16:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

User:Sajjad yasini

I'm not quite sure why you tagged that one. A7 doesn't apply in userspace, or what your list has to do with it... There's not enough content there for a MfD for FAKEARTICLE. It's a page that bears watching, though, just in case it turns into something that it shouldn't. 8-( Peridon (talk) 17:25, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Wow, I'm not either. Mistake for sure. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 17:31, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Well that's not fair Hell in the Bucket! Now you are telling me that it shouldn't have been tagged!Bruv Sajjad, It won't turn into something else, at least I won't let it.

True. This thread is about another user's userpage, as the heading says. Peridon (talk) 19:31, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Hello Hell in a Bucket. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Benefits of Using Signed Exact English in the Classroom, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: not really promotional and I think it can be salvaged. Thank you. SmartSE (talk) 21:38, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Good luck with that. I'll watchlist it and come back to it later, reserving the right to AFD but if you want to salvage go for it. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 21:49, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Now what?

I have changed the category so please remove your tag, since it matches up the criteria now. --Lubnarizvi (talk) 11:31, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Yuval Elizur

Agreed, they claim notability, but the problem is a couple of things. (1) there is no notable sources (the only links are the books publishers and to an article the person wrote about themselves); (2) the editor is a WP:SPA and violates WP:USERNAME policies; (3) is blanking the AFD on their page.... While they may be well meaning that doesn't preclude them from blatantly disregarding messages and notices, and continuing to editing the page. Your thoughts? Tiggerjay (talk) 20:38, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

It doesn't matter on the sources, they only have to claim it not prove it to stop csd. It really does need to be AFD or PRod, If you can file a SPA on it and then get it confirmed then it is speedy-able. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 20:43, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
Nominated for AFD, see link here Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yuval Elizur - your thoughts and comments are welcome. Tiggerjay (talk) 20:44, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Some of those edits could have been legitimate. I think we effectively protected the encyclopedia (which is our foremost responsibility) by deleting the articles created. If they were to keep recreating, I think we'd be justified in blocking.

As for your other question, no, Arabic and Farsi are entirely different languages that use pretty much the same alphabet. Daniel Case (talk) 22:36, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Well darn it appreciate the answer on the Farsi, striking out on that one. And ok on the re-review. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 22:47, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi, Hell in the water tank, Now you can check my article.
It meets all the requirements now and no one else has passed any comment to delete it.
Can you please remove the tag now?

--Lubna Rizvi 17:25, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Well for right now we do actually have another delete rationale, I don't think you quite understand at this point the discussion continues until a consensus is made, I know you've worked diligently to improve it so I'm sure continued discussion will only help with support on your viewpoint. I myself haven't reviewed the lastest incarnation. I will in a little I'm a little busy trying to move and pack that type of crap. But after my review I may change my rationale. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 17:32, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

I have also tried to play nice but you been biased and racist all the time. There is nothing wrong with the article and it meets all the criteria of the Wikipedia rules. Yes, I edited the comment of the user because you seemed to be promoting your ideas and pushing others to contribute towards your idea of deleting the article.

  • You have recommended the article for deletion when I wrote few lines just to check how it looks like. You have been emotionally disturbing me all the time. I have tried to talk to you in a nice and friendly manner but you never listened. You delete the article, I will make a new one. I will continue or hire a professional to make one. --Lubna Rizvi 17:55, 10 December 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lubnarizvi (talkcontribs)
  • When hasn't he been friendly? Making threats about recreating the article, that's not friendly.--Milowenthasspoken 18:31, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Also not friendly, changing a "delete" to a "keep" like this[1].--Milowenthasspoken 18:33, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
I've left a note on the editors page. I have asked for evidence of my racism or otherwise inappropriate behaviors, if any can be found I'll gladly explain and apologize. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 18:37, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
you don't need to communicate with me further! I am not obliged to answer you anyways! --Lubna Rizvi 19:48, 10 December 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lubnarizvi (talkcontribs)

I'm perfectly willing to abide with not discussing this with you anymore, however if I do see that you are breaking the policies of this encyclopedia I will leave the appropriate warnings on your talkpage, so please do us both a favor and mind the policies and we're golden I'll leave you alone. Your edit summary said delete, but without the usual "• Delete." at the beginning of your !vote, I think there's a risk that a closing admin may treat it as a comment, not a !vote. Msnicki (talk) 18:57, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Well, I'd read WP:SPA and decide what you want to do, whether you want to use the spa tag or not. If the user is being otherwise respectful and following policy, I'd just let things play out in good faith. Daniel Case (talk) 17:34, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Sacramento Ball Drop

Hello Hell in a Bucket. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Sacramento Ball Drop, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Does not meet the requirements of A7. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:43, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

By it's own article it happened twice and then was discontinued. by definition that is not notable...Hell In A Bucket (talk) 02:45, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

From the policy "An article about a real person, individual animal(s), organization or web content that does not indicate why its subject is importance" Hell In A Bucket (talk) 02:48, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi. The problem, as I see it, is that the Ball Drop is not a person, an animal, an organization, or web content. Therefore it doesn't qualify for speedy deletion under A7. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:53, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
It can be construed as a organizational activity which can definitely be considered A7 but if we're playing technicalities sure. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 02:57, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
I'm sorry you consider that a technicality. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:01, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

If a speedy nomination is declined (by someone other than the page author), please do not put it back. At that point, using a different deletion process is the way to go, if you still think deletion was warranted. Seraphimblade Talk to me 03:46, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Bill Browder page

Hello, why are you changing the Bill Browder biography page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Katiefisher (talkcontribs) 11:39, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Mainly because this is a callaborative project and there are issues with the information you are presenting and how it's being presented. What you are doing is whitewashing the page slanted to a POV towards him, I understand this is your job however we do not allow paid editing and we do enforce a NPOV on all articles. This may be a subject where you should not edit at all due to your close connection (EMPLOYER) with this person and company as this can result in blocks and inhibits a nuetral tone and POV. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 11:43, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Bill Browder page.

Thanks for your response.

I understand the need for neutrality. However, you removed huge chunks of text and changed headings which were in no way one sided. We just updated our page, with each line fully sourced and linked. You have removed those for some reason as well. Furthermore, you have edited text and changed headings which are now specifically defamatory and even libellous.

Are you censoring and deleting text on your own volition? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Katiefisher (talkcontribs) 12:30, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Let's examine that for a moment.
  • I reverted the change that you put on the page (original and neutral title was Criminal Charges of Tax Evasion (simply a fact not leading arguments one way or another), the change you choose to pursue was "Persecution by the Russian legal system" (purely a non nuetral heading)5
  • I did this to make it a more neutral tone as well 6
  • Youtube is not a [[ reliable source and when it's a statement by the person invovled can not be used 7
  • And this was a purely grammatical edit 8 while also removing what appears to be a WP:SYNTHESIS.

This is why we insist and strongly discourage paid editing, I have no dog in this argument one way or another, I don't care if he defrauded the Russian people, I don't care that the Russians may have persecuted him through the legal system. The only thing I care about is that the article is neutral, and well sourced period the end, I'm not here to hide information just present it. I'm blunt and apologize if this comes off as rudeness which is not my intention. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 12:41, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Frogtrade page.

Hi Jake, I have been trying to get this page up for some time as it is important for people researching the VLE and virtual learning platform market...Frogtrade are one of the World's leading providers of this type of software.

When I look at other much smaller providers (Firefly solutions) who are represented on Wikipedia they have got very similar information on their page.

What do I need to do to get this approved, there is no reason at all for it to not be there from what I have seen and my interpretation, all VERY subjective I feel.

I have advised I now work at Frogtrade but have been a teacher in the very near past who actually used the software daily, so have written this as I started my role here in January from that perspective.

If I am missing a point could you please let me know in very plain English what needs to be done to amend and get approved.

Many thanks for your time.

WikiFrow (talk) 16:36, 21 February 2013

The problem how I see it is that is seems to be promotional in language. Can you provide some sources not connected to Frogtrade that we can help to show notability for this project and I will very happily help you write the article. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 16:47, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
Doing a little footwork on my own, I did find this source 11 which may actually prove notability, in which caseyou have my apologies. I will be happy to help you make the article, publish it and link that source and it should thwart speedy deletion attempts. If we can find more like it then we may have a workable article. Please take it easy here. You are correct that someone with a COI was editing the article but it is also true that multiple anonymous ip numbers have repeatedly inserted highly defamatory and contentious material into the article with poor sourcing (at best). BLP subjects should be forgiven clumsy attempts to defend themselves against vicious attacks.

I'd really appreciate your help in trying to dig down to the bottom of this - I'm just now learning about the whole thing myself.--Jimbo Wales (talk) 17:02, 23 February 2013

Honestly, I had taken this to ANI, I asked for more help from more experienced editors 12, because as i said here 13 my only concern was not white washing the article (which in my opinion the current version is completely slanted to Browders side, ie Persecution by the Russian Legal system.). I have not edited the article since bringing Ani as I considered that the eyes that were more used to BLP stuff would take care of it. I am good at writing stubs and minor vandalism patrol but some things like this is not nec. a good thing for me to insert myself on, not because I have a bias but because I think stuff like this needs a ban hammer and they are obviously willing to spend money to whitewash a few things. I think that the fact that you were contacted by legal counsel is a clear legal threat, pleasant or not, and should be dealt with accordingly but I also understand you have other considerations other then using donated money to fight a legal battle. Maybe in this case we should burn the barn and just delete the article period, I would hate to see a website that prides itself on neutrality allow a whitewashed article made by paid PR people stand just because they have lawyers. Maybe this is because I don't make a lot of money and I hate lawyers lol, but I also understand that by doing so we still have to bend over for a lawyer either way. Thanks for dropping me a line about this and it was nice to hear from you rather then me leaving a line on your page complaining about Wiki administration and I'm sure you'll do the best for the encyclopedia. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 23:51, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
Well, there is no legal threat, and no chance of a PR whitewashed article. I think it's possible and unfortunately common for people who are being victimized by anons that when they try to sort things out, they are thought of poorly by Wikipedians, i.e. as if they are making legal threats or trying to whitewash. As a side note, I do agree that "Persecution by the Russian Legal System" was a poor title for the section, and I've changed it, and I hope others will help us improve the article substantially to be a neutral report.--Jimbo Wales (talk) 14:11, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi again, hope you had a nice weekend? I seem to be still once again with getting the Frogtrade Wikipedia page sorted and live. I have tweaked this page and would love to know what else there is that needs to be done to get it approved, hopefully its fine now!

Kind regards

Help w/ a discussion?

There's a bit of a discussion on the talk page for Bend, Not Break. The long and short of it is that User:VanHarrisArt thinks that the book is a redundant fork of the author's page and wants to redirect it, while I think it merits its own article. It's received several reviews for the book and also has received coverage for the controversy. It's also no longer an attack page and in my opinion, reads rather neutrally. I think it merits its own article at this point, as it passes WP:NBOOK based on the amount of reviews alone. I saw that you had previously weighed in elsewhere on the book, so I didn't know if you wanted to take a look at the current version of the article. VanHarrisArt says that it still has neutrality issues, but I think it's fairly neutral in tone. I've taken pains to include both sides of the controversy and used quotes where I thought it'd be a little difficult to adequately summarize.Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:36, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

  • I went ahead and just nominated it for deletion. We can hash it out there, since that seems to be the inevitable conclusion. I'd rather get lightly scolded for jumping there than to suffer through a few days of arguing and then the AfD. I'd still appreciate your input on the situation, though. (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bend, Not Break) Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:54, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
    • I've commented there and agree with your rationale. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 14:10, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
  • Can I ask another favor? Can you intervene on the talk page? The other editor is still unhappy and I'm kind of uneasy with what he's suggesting. I'll openly say it: I think that he's cherrypicking exact phrases and words in order to skew the description of the book and its controversy in favor of Ping Fu and I've said as much on the talk page. VanHarrisArt is quibbling over terms such as "critic", saying that this insinuates that all of the critics are reviewers and that not all of the critics read the book in its entirety. I basically said that you don't have to have read the entire book to have criticisms over it and that this is pretty much splitting hairs. He's also saying that the criticism is solely on Ping Fu and not on the book, when that's not really the case here. That's essentially asking me to remove all mention of the book except for the reviews. I get that he wants to avoid the article becoming a propoganda piece against Ping Fu, but we can't have it being a pro-Ping Fu article either. I don't think he's that new of an editor- he seems to be relatively savvy with some of the guidelines.Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 14:44, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
I agree with your last point, the editor has definitely been around for a while, I was thinking that with the AGF and knowledge of templates..I'll read through the talkpage and weigh in. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 15:01, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

Ping Fu cyber bullies

The reason why I'm following this issue is not because I believe Ping Fu is telling the truth or lying. I honestly don't know. I'm involved because I hate bullies, and if I can help keep the playing field level, I've done something of value. If you want to understand what is happening here, read this article about Grace Wang.

I have deep background on the genesis of this Human flesh search engine, and have been communicating with and tracking the participants for over a month. They have discussed most everything they've done here, on WP, in advance in the forums at Amazon. They're not shy. (And I still don't know what to call them. Attackers? Critics? a Mob? They like to call themselves "truth seekers.")

While Amazon does not enforce terms of use in their forums (and hence, have allowed the participants to have the run of things), at least here I can make a difference. I don't need to advocate. All I need to do is keep things honest. Because I've done my homework, I can recognize when someone is posting unverifiable information.

In the case of the pages from last night, e.g., 漂流瓶-_A_Memoir_in_Chinese, I had already spoken to a Chinese expert (a person who had been a US reporter in China for many years) and had verified that the book doesn't say what they say it does. The truth seekers had already published these claims elsewhere, so I was familiar with them, and knew that they were unverifiable.

Personally, I don't care whether you call it an attack page or not. The rule is "Contentious material about living persons (or recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced – whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable – should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion." This material was contentious, and was poorly sourced to an out of print Chinese language book with no English translation, If that wasn't enough, WP:NOENG should have sunk the articles.

OK... those are my thoughts. I'm just trying to keep things above-board. VanHarrisArt (talk) 17:57, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

Ok thank you for your response, I do appreciate your thoughts although in this case I have to respectfully disagree, at least with the current rendition. I think that with the current version of the article it is well written and sourced. The first two I think it was a lot harder to determine the notability as the title wasn't in english so it made it harder to gauge the actual notability. I would encourage you to find sources to your point of view and I will happily help find a way to include in the present article. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 02:00, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

Pls don't plan to edit war - there is no rush - WP:3RR is not only based in time but with intent. As for moving it back, you need help with that as you cant just copy and paste as I have explained above. That all said i will get others involved.Moxy (talk) 06:09, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
WP:CANVASSING friends? I've cited relevant examples and a policy that aids this rationale and so far you are in the minority if there is a edit war mentality it's coming from your blind insistence on your point of view. I was agreeing with a suggestion by someone else which means that it/was a leaning consensus Hell In A Bucket (talk) 06:14, 12 March 2013 (UTC)

Ritter vs Cash

See the John Ritter article's Talk Page for info I added. You have a lot to learn about the proper steps for disputing a contribution and having the proper attitude. You have violated Wikipedia guidelines. I am simply trying to assist in the edit someone else made, not defending it. According to your reasoning, the fact Cash died less than 24 hours doesn't belong there either then. It's an "orphan" statement. Plenty of articles contain a minor "expansion" of related information to a topic. I was simply trying to tie it all together to salvage it. I could care less if it's there or not. They are related since Tex is John's dad. Like Johns' son appeared in the opening of Three's Company, there was some connection shared between John and Johnny at some point I'm sure as a result of Tex being his dad. Nonetheless, like Tex Ritter's article mentions his son and the connection with John and Jason helping with United Cerebral Palsy due to his son Thomas Ritter's condition, I think it's fine being there and isn't "hurting" anyone, but you want to be sure it's not included for some reason. Right, wrong or indifferent, you did not go about it properly and for that should be warned for causing an edit war in my opinion. There is some "truth" to what was there, you just don't seem to want it there. 99.129.112.89 (talk) 07:59, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

P.S. I did not add Youtube as a source for the record, although many articles include it as a reference at the bottom of the article. However, it's undeniable that the footage is Cash and Tex as can be seen in other reliable news articles. You can be stubborn so you "win" but you are clearly wrong in your actions (reverting without discussing and rejecting legitimate proof). At least I conducted myself properly. 99.129.112.89 (talk) 08:03, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

Timothy L. Tyler

Hi, I noticed you added a POV tag to the Timothy L. Tyler but did not provide any explanation. I am removing as per this guidance. "This label is meant to indicate that a discussion is still going on, and that the article's content is disputed, and volatile. If you add this template to an article in which there is no relevant discussion underway, you need at least to leave a note on the article's talk page describing what you consider unacceptable about the article. The note should address the troubling passages, elements, or phrases specifically enough to encourage constructive discussion that leads to resolution. If you believe that material or a particular viewpoint is missing, then you should try to give examples of published, independent, reliable sources that contain this missing material or point of view. In the absence of an ongoing discussion on the article's talk page, any editor may remove this tag at any time." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ohnohedinnit (talkcontribs) 07:24, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
